Morpheus Dark Mirror of Surreality

Morpheus nodded to the pair of court members that arrived to be trapped alone with him, he noticed that one was the dark mirror that he had met when they investigated the rift which he should have guessed this is where it would lead them in the end. "We should have figured we would be stuck somewhere like this, seems to always be like this. Stuck in a village with annoying music, stuck in a mirror rift with just about the whole court. Now we are stuck here where ever here happens to be." He grumbled harshly as he looked around as more rifts opened and spit out different faction members.

He turned to the dark mirror court member he had not met and said "I'm Morpheus." Then he nodded and once again nodded back to the dark mirror he had already met.

Dark Mirror Eternal Sailor Acubens

Acubens understood Morpheus' frustrations, she shared them herself. And so she shrugged and waved a hand dismissively and muttered, "the good thing is that it's very rarely ever just us, and if it is then we usually get something out of it. And another good thing to remember is that since this isn't Mirrorspace, then Mirrorspace is not the one acting up."

None of that, however, changed the fact that they were all here and no one seemed to know where "here" was.

"The important thing is to stay together," she finished. "Who cares about the rest of them, we need to make sure we and any other Dark Mirror senshi we find make it out of this in one piece."

"And make sure you make it back to your wife in that same one piece," Tegmine joked, crossing his arms across his chest.

"And you back to that mysterious girlfriend that I will find out about," Acubens goaded back.

Dark Mirror Sailor Tegmine

"Tegmine," he greeted back, "Acubens' brother," he clarified further. After that, he was grateful that his sister took over speaking for him. Someday he'd need to take on that leadership role but for right now... right now he was able to stand aside and just watch. He claimed that it was just training and what not. Learning not only how to fight, but how to be in charge. Really he just didn't want to do be responsible for anyone. He was a basic only, and a late blooming one at that. He couldn't rely on his powers and he wasn't sure if he would ever be able to do so.

"And make sure you make it back to your wife in that same one piece," Tegmine joked as his sister began forming plans on keeping the court safe. He crossed his arms over his chest in a show of confidence that he didn't really feel.

"And you back to that mysterious girlfriend that I will find out about," Acubens goaded back. Tegmine winced and suddenly hoped that Adriadne did not show up.

Corrupt Super Fafnir

Fafnir barely managed not to fall as the rift in reality sucked him in. The experience was, frankly, terrifying, and it did not get better when he cast about himself, trying to get his bearings in this new place.

Some place dark, full of moss and rocks, that stretched in all directions. He caught glimpses of more rifts flickering open and closed, and part of him wondered if he was in the Rift. That thought was even more terrifying than being pulled through that tear was. If this was some part of the Rift he'd never been before (not hard, since he never had a reason to go to the Rift if he wasn't part of some mission), then he was in very real danger... Being an unaccompanied senshi was like hanging a dinner bell around his neck and ringing it loudly for all the little monsters to hear.

His heart beat wildly in his chest as he tried to teleport out, back where he had been when it sucked him up. Nothing. Not even a flicker, not even a tug. Of course, you couldn't teleport in or out of the Rift... and then a tear opened up before him, just for a moment, and he got a glimpse of... eyes...

Fafnir couldn't stifle his yelp as he stumbled backwards, throwing up his arms incase whatever it was leaped at him... but then it was gone, and he was in the dark again.

Gyeongju, Page of Polaris
User Image

It had been days since Gyeongju had seen Venice and Erebus disappear into the black hole like tear. The remaining family members had decided to look for them in both separate and conjoined patrols whenever they had the chance, worrying for their safety and well being. On top of that it was hard trying to explain to the twins why their parents weren't around and why they had to stay with their grandparents without causing them to panic.

Now however, it was Gyeonju's turn to be pulled into one of the tears in the world and he was spat out into what seemed like a dark cavern area, though it was obvious he wasn't alone in this regard as he could see people from all sides ending up here. Some were vaguely familiar while others he had never seen before. The Korean wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.

Order Mauvian Hania
User Image

The rift that had opened up underneath his feet had caught him off guard completely. Hania hadn't even been on patrol or even far away from the house but rather had been sitting on the roof top talking over his communicator to Jian when it had appeared and sucked him in. The surprised and panicked yowl that came from him as he was dropped from several feet in the air above the platform that seemed the rifts were sending people to. Of course he landed on his feet but his fur was puffed out and his eyes were huge as he took in his new surroundings.

The black cat's tail thrashed from side to side as he took in the many who were stranded in this cave like area, it seemed like there was at least one from every faction here so far. It didn't look like any of the Arthurian's were here, yet anyway since it was possible they could be pulled in too, so he wasn't sure where to even start.

[Civ] Hedone Elpis Michel

Henny turned and looked at the girl dressed like a ballerina and she laughed "Yea this is totally a dream. Why else would there be a ballerina here." She said with a smirk confident that this was all nonsense and non of it was real. Come on now. She sat down and waited to wake up not expecting any response from the tutu girl. She kept babbling in her boredom she wished she had her skateboard with her. Clearly, it was in the waking world rather than the dream world. Considering she knew it was a dream it sucked she couldn't control it.

Sailor Amaterasu, Chibi Senshi of the Sunrise

Amaterasu had excitedly pulled her sister along with her away from their house once they were able to sneak out with the risk of alerting their parents. She had seen and heard about the strange dark voids that had been appearing across the city and was determined to explore more about them.

She hadn't actually meant to tumble into the weird dark space yet she had done just that, almost pulled in by some mysterious force. She had instinctively grabbed onto Izanami unintentionally dragging her with her.

Once she came to her sense in the strange rift she looked around she saw various other people around her, it was good at least they weren't alone but one very prescient question ringed in the young girl's mind. "Nee-chan where are we?" The Chibi Senshi asked the older girl with her.

Energy surges through the air, uncomfortable and smothering. It sticks to your skin like sweat and there’s something otherworldly and electric about it.

More fissures tear through the air, all around you. They open and close, and maybe you were lucky before but your luck’s just run out.

Something has changed.

Electricity crackles in front of you, sightless and soundless, but you feel it–and so do they.

The first of many strange, mutated creatures emerges from one of the unnatural crevices, and it doesn’t seem to just pass through it, it tore through it. A second monster pushed out past it. A third.

They almost looked like youma but they didn’t feel like them. There was something more organic, something more natural about them.

There was no Chaos controlling them, only their own instinct.

And, the instinct was to follow the energy.

You can feel it, too. In front of you, somewhere. There’s only a great black expanse, so far as you can see, but there’s a rippling current just out of touch.

And these monsters are going to go through you to get to it.

From what you can see, they look like gross amalgamations of terrifying monsters. They look like living gargoyles–wrinkled, leathery flesh stretched over little more than bones. They have wings and claws and bat-like faces, but they range in sizes and shapes. Some are small, some are large.

They’re all hungry.

Quote:
Strange creatures are overflowing from the sporadically appearing and disappearing fissures, and they seem like they’re ready to tear everyone apart–including each other. The creatures are volatile and seem easily drawn to violence, against each other or the unwilling citizens of Destiny City.

They seem like their major goal is to reach some otherwise invisible point just beyond the cluster of new arrivals, like they know something you don’t.

You can’t see their destination but you can feel it.

There aren’t a lot of directions to run in, but if you don’t try to move forward, you’re probably going to get swarmed by these creatures–and they are starving. You’ll be lucky if one of them doesn’t try to take a bite out of you.

The best thing to do is move, but don’t expect to get out of this without a fight.

Quote:
If a player wants to interact with one of the attacking creatures, they can puppet it doing so! The creatures cannot speak but might growl or roar; they will attack with their talons and sharp teeth. They can fly short distances but it seems difficult for them to get too much air. They do not seem to get along and may attack each other as well as characters; they have no energy signature and will target civilians and powered characters the same. They do not seem magical, though if they are attacked with great ferocity they will explode into a sticky black tar, not unlike what seems to be covering the surfaces in this strange pocket dimension.

This ORP is open to characters from all factions, including civilians! It will count as a regular roleplay for a civilian character but provided a powered character participates in any combat this can be used as a battle requirement. Civilians will be at a disadvantage narratively, but there is room for everyone to participate! You can play as many characters as you like, but players are discouraged from participating with more characters than they can reasonably play during the event. We strongly encourage players to fill out prompts as they go and make a genuine effort to backfill as soon as possible if they are not able to fill out their post immediately. You should not have more than one unfilled post at a time; you may reserve a post if you have the intention of responding quickly but please do not reserve a new post before filling out the last. There is no need to reserve posts between prompts; there will not be any dice rolls or repercussions from missing prompts. You can post as often as you like between mule posts.

Players must put their character’s name and a link to their journal at the top of their posts.

This ORP ICly takes place on Saturday, July 3rd so it is forward dated to the last day of the event. ICly it will last for about an hour. Characters who have been sucked through the strange rifts will be able to participate in an upcoming prompt but cannot join just yet.

Prompts will regularly be posted ~every 72 hours. The time between final prompt and closing prompt will be ~48 hours and will be announced at the time; the ORP will close on Sunday, July 3rd. You can join the ORP at any time, up until the final prompt when new participants will no longer be permitted.

There will be no dice rolling in this ORP; there are no rewards for being the highest roller or more active and this event was designed to be a little relaxed. Players will be able to both enter at any point in time and will be able to remove their characters from the central part of the ORP if they need to without suffering any IC repercussions. There are no repercussions if a player misses a prompt. Any player who participates with any character (or characters) and writes at least 500 words will be eligible for rewards at the end of this roleplay; playing multiple characters will not yield multiple rewards so you only need one to participate. At any point in time between now and a prompt that says otherwise, your character can be sucked into another fissure and disappear from the platform or a character who participated in the Disappearances prompt can come through a fissure and join the ORP. Characters can be sucked in or pushed out together or alone, it’s up to the players.

The next prompt will be posted sometime after 5 PM EST on Wednesday, June 22nd!

Spei, Page of the Moon

The floor (or ground or platform or whatever) seemed sticky beneath Spei's booted feet; the entire black expanse felt dank and close. Fissures were still opening all around, and sometimes he could make out the silhouettes of other people here. A particularly bright light, like a flame, shone not too far away, bearing a Chaos aura, but he didn't dare approach it (or them – there was the distinct impression it was within a human shape). As an experiment, he stuck out his arms; he could feel his right arm whiz past someone or something solid and touch a sticky surface. His left arm, though, was almost caught in a rift that suddenly opened up. He quickly pulled it back, feeling the sucking force of the fissure. This was a weird place.

Suddenly what sounded like a muted roar echoed around him, coming from behind. At the same time he felt an energy signature off in the distance – it was neither Order nor Chaos, it was just there, deep in the blackness. Spei felt something brush past him, something decidedly not human-shaped. "Oh s**t," he muttered, and began to move forward, toward the energy source ahead. More roars and strange guttural sounds erupted around him as he broke into a cautious trot. He didn't want to run into anyone, but he sure didn't want to encounter one of the roaring, flapping things.

Spei nearly lost his balance as he abruptly clattered into someone else – luckily, someone with an Order aura. "Oh, I'm so sorry," he instantly apologized, reaching out to grab the arms of the shadowy shape he'd nearly bowled over. "Didn't mean to almost knock you over. We have to run."

General Faustite

"Cryolite, tell me where The Boy is." Flame eyes shifted to him, expectant. He craved something mundane, like off to see his family or busy planning the wedding — anything to justify his inability to pick up the damn phone after what happened with Celadonite. Alkmene dropped off, too, but Hina had been unreachable on that one. He hadn't had time to check for the others — Heliodor, Fafnir — before he was struck from reality himself.

To hear from Cymophane that Kamacite may have been fine was somewhat relieving, but not enough to quell the worry. Probably still in the city didn't mean provably still in the city. That he still felt uncertainty churning in his gut was some kind of vestigial curse from his residual humanity, he was sure.

"Hope your optimism proves true. Surprised Jet fell victim — Queen won't look favorably on that." After he'd just gotten done telling Faustite about how he didn't need a General, and now he very much did. Small comeuppance for hubris, there.

He recognized the one with Cymophane (Reidite) — an officer recruited for that last mission into the Rift. He gave the officer a look, though his mind was too occupied with the potentially permanent loss of his boys to offer more than that.

His attention was arrested by a violent shock of blackened electricity, and Faustite stiffened up in learned response. Felt his shoulders tense with all the retrieved memory of Encke's magic, and instinct told him to get away from it, but there was little space to move — bodies were packed into bodies, and the rifts popped open and shut wildly, dropping even more bodies into their midst.

But these bodies looked withered. Reminiscent of those trapped behind the glass in the Hall of Shadows, though they lacked a more human profile. They approached, and he approached, and a firestorm roiled bright in his core. A handful had started fighting with each other, but the bat-like creatures turned their attention to the bright spot before them.

"Give me my <******** boys," he snarled, and engulfing fire exploded around him.

Two burst near instantly, spraying him with a black tar. Hissing, Faustite raised his arms up to weather any more incoming fluid. He stumbled backward, teeth grit, and one of the creatures took advantage of the opening. Fangs and claws bared, the third one bit deep into his upraised arm before it, too, burst into sticky tar. He hissed his pain, and after it popped, he spit his unfettered derision at the spot it last occupied.

Eternal Dark Mirror Kiuchi

He'd been missing fro mDestiny City, no doubt about that, for some time but how long he wasn't sure. When things started to amke sense again, at least sort of, was when he and his two companions wound up on a platform with others...many others, from various factions. The winged dark mirror senshi would have taken the time to look around, to feel out the energy signatures present, but he didn't have much time. A lot was already happening and monsters, of some sort, were appearing and there was some sort of energy...or electricity...he wasn't even sure. It was like sensory overload and he was trying to sort himself out. Thankfully as he tried to sort himself out, and not fall over, his dark eyes landed on a familiar figure. "Acubens." Good. There was no doubt his fellow eternal would be able to fill him in on things and help him.

"Let's go, we need to get to Acubens." Before something really bad happened, because some really bad was bound to happen. There was no way they'd be safe here and he knew it - it wasn't how things worked in this city.

Reaching for his partner the taller asian wraped his arm around the smallers waist and drew him in close. "Rana, stay close, don't run ahead." Knowing his sister would surely be excited to see Acubens, as they were good friends. "I don't like this....I don't like the feeling and I don't like being here." He didn't like anything about this really. To say he didn't feel safe was an understatement.

Hurrying his pace he headed towards Acubens, avoiding some sort of creature tearing itself into this realm and moving past him - almost hitting into him. "Acubens."

Transcended Knight Venice
So he and Erebus had been missing from the city for some time, how long was amystery to Venice, but at least they'd been together if for no other reason than needed company. When something seemed to tear into the realm they were in and dump them elsewhere - into another realm.

"More people are here..." And this was both good and bad. Bad because it meant something big was likely to happen but good because it meant they weren't alone now, although he wasn't sure what to think of the chaos auras around them. In this case though he figured they were all somewhat on the same side? Or at least had the same enemy - whatever who whoever that may be. "We should be careful." Watching as a monster, followed by another monster, came into the area from a giant tear. "This isn't good." The ground felt sticky against his shoes, holding to his shoes a bit as he took each step. But was the ground even wet? "The air feels heavy..." Like a humid day and how that made it uncomfortable, and hard at times, to breath. What was it though?

"We should follow those monsters...whatever they are headed to we should find out what it is." And deal with it if need be.

Super Sailor Hamal
"Gyeongju." He hadn't been pulled through a hole on his own, of course not, but his younger cousin had joined him. Hamal stood at the knights side staring up at him. "I guess we now know what Venice and Ereabus went through." She stated while glancing about their surroundings. She didn't like how her skin felt, and found herself rubbing at her arms and taking note how she felt almost...sweaty. "Do you feel like you've run a marathon and are covered in sweat?" She asked her cousin in a near whisper, not wanting others to hear her. She didn't know everyone here and she didn't like how some of the auras felt either.

"Something is happening..." And she felt like moving as close to her cousins side as humanly possible, just incase. "We might need to protect ourselves." And while she was a super senshi, and she had decent magic, she was not like Venice or his husband. She also wasn't much for a fighter...she didn't have much of a clue really. She had magic and that was about it really. "Maybe they'll be here as well." And the realm they were in was being torn apart and not only were people dropping in, or at least they looked like people shaped bodies, but than there were other things...beasts of some sort. "Monsters...." She whispered...but they didn't feel like youma - so what were they.

"Something I can't feel." At least not like a youma. "Something new." To her anyway, maybe not to someone else. "Do we follow them....or would that be a bad idea?"

Transcended Eternal Ida

Ida had seen a few of the rifts opening and closing, and it had been just the icing on the cake of everything that had been happening the last few months. It felt like reality was trying to tear itself apart, and reduce everything living to dust and ashes. Add the heat on top of everything, and Ida honestly wasn't sure any more that this wasn't some end of days thing going on.

She'd dodged a number of rifts while out studying the dead spots around the city, but they'd gotten more frequent, and bigger, until finally one had opened practically under her feet and she'd fallen, landing hard in a dark, sticky place. More rifts flashed about her, and she saw other people falling through to join her. She sensed the flicker of energy signatures as she pushed herself to her feet, feeling... well, not bruised, per se, but a little sore from her landing.

There... that was a Negaverse signature, General rank. There was a weak knight signal over there... She thought she sensed some DMC too, so whatever was going on, it wasn't caused by any of the chaos members. Unless they'd suddenly decided sacrificing their own to wipe out Order members was the cost of war... Well. Hopefully, the mix of people here would hold them to some sort of truce while they tried to figure this out. This did not feel like a good place to be, and Ida cast about looking for anyone she knew and anything that might be a way back.

The eternal managed to stumble a short ways through the dark as the rifts opened faster, before things, not just people, started popping through those tears in space. Energy seemed to crackle about her every time one did, surging, before... something changed.

A grotesque, leathery creature surged out from one of the fissures, followed by another, and landed before her, growling somewhere deep in its ghastly ribcage. It snapped at its companion, who snapped back, and Ida was just glad neither had seemed to notice her yet. Frozen in place, she breathed shallow and fast, her dark eyes wide. The monsters seemed to loose interest in each other and turned, loping off towards... something they seemed to sense in the distance. More followed them, and it forced Ida to dance out of their way, lest she get trampled, or snapped at, which more than one tried on its way ********, this wasn't good... what was she supposed to do? Follow them? Not the best option, but so far it was really the only concrete direction she'd seen in this empty space. And the growing flood of them, standing still was getting more and more dangerous.

Protogenia, DMC of Stasis

So perhaps wondering around at night was not a very good thing for Protogenia to do [well not without supervision.... She wished Remy was around.], since she mis stepped and tripped through some sort of rift. Now here she was, surrounded by weird people she did not recognize. She could feel multiple signatures and while it was scary, the curiosity was eating at her. She's never met anyone outside of Remy Noah, and her roomie Bellamy, so maybe this was her chance to make some more friends? She was about to approach some one when she heard snarling.

Alright, that did NOT sound very friendly!

The instinct would be to run, but where?!

Proto swallowed and began to move forward, shrieking when one of the tar creatures decided to try and take what wouldve been a very big chomp out of her leg! Instead of letting that happen, a small bubble formed in her hand, to which she tossed it at the pack of creatures. She leaped in excitement when she trapped two, making sure to keep pushing forward.

---------------------

Mu Arae, Senshi of Brutality

Of all the things Arae had expected to ruin her night, falling into a got damned rift was not one of them. Something TOLD her that maybe she shouldn't patrol tonight, just stay with her fine a** husband and the little terrors that she calls her sons. Nope, she just felt the need to patrol because she was antsy. The signatures she was feeling had her on edge. She was hoping to get out of here alive tonight and hopefully without any additional scarring or maiming involved.

When the creatures showed, she was really just over everything at this point. Instead of waiting or shaking in fear, the small senshi just cracked her knuckles and spartan kicked one of the creatures in the face. The poor thing was not ready for the kick and Mu Arae was not ready for the disgusting goop that it exploded into. "The hell! Gross!" She flung some of the goop off of her shoe, quickly dodging a creature that decided to toss itself at her. She wanted to use her power, but with the civilians in here, she was pretty sure that wasnt a good idea.

---------------------

Villon, Corrupt Senshi of Nightmares

Being new to this whole corruption thing had Villon becoming slightly more annoyed than usual. Granted, he could see the fun in draining some one's life force, but he hated being away from his wife and son for long periods of time. Currently, he was with Diesel, draining those unfortunate to come across his path. He couldn't stop himself when the rift literally popped right in front of his pathway. Just before the rift closed, Villon looked to his companion with a look that held a lot of annoyance and a smidge of fear.

Great.

He then fell on his back, right in front of some sort of.....Goblin? Golem? Smeegle? ******** if he knew. The thing lunged for him and he quickly started scooting backwards. He felt his throat tighten and although he hated the feeling, spit a tentacle right at the things face. The creature roared and he took that time to get up and prepare himself. He wasn't sure where Diesel is but he could take care of himself.

Lovely Belrose

Naturally, Lovely’s circumstances took a turn for the worst.

That was always the case — had been ever since he moved to this cursed city — but at least on other occasions he’d had the means to defend himself. Powerless, stuck in a location with limited visibility, he felt out of his depth. His hand flexed like his rapier might magically materialize within it, but he was left with nothing more than empty air.

Dark creatures tore their way into whatever this realm was. Even in his defenseless, unpowered state, Lovely knew they were not youma. He’d spent enough time in the Dark Kingdom, had acclimated himself to the presence of youma, and had engaged with enough of the unusual creatures that often threatened Destiny City to tell the difference, even when there might not have been one to those who remained blissfully ignorant of the war and all the dangers that came with it.

So… not youma, but no less deadly.

Lovely stepped away from one that appeared close by, observing what he could of the scene. There were Senshi: White Moon, Dark Mirror, possibly a Corrupt or two — their telltale cracks were difficult to discern in the dark. Some knights, but not many; he couldn’t quite make out their symbols. Lovely saw very few agents, but a burst of fire to the right alerted him to the presence of at least one General.

Better than none, he supposed. He only wished it was someone less likely to incinerate them ********>...” he swore.

Lovely found himself in the path of another creature. This one seemed larger, not as easy to side step, and though it and its brethren clearly had an objective in mind, that didn’t stop this one from snarling and grabbing for him. Talons split the flesh of his shoulders. Jaws snapped as sharp teeth went for his neck. Deprived of a weapon, Lovely had no choice but to fend it off with his bare hands. He took it by its bat-like face and held it at bay, fingers searching for whatever vulnerable area they could find — a noise, a set of eyes.

The creature howled and tore itself away, leaving bloody trails along Lovely’s upper arms. He kicked it the first chance he got, sending the creature crashing into one of its equally deadly friends. The two snarled and grappled with each other, so violent the first one’s life ended in a mucky explosion.

Lovely took a splatter of sticky black tar to the face.

-------

Sailor Ymir

The fissures opened and closed too quickly for any of them to attempt using them as an escape. Ymir couldn’t even determine if it was advisable to do so. They seemed just as likely to lead somewhere else as they did to lead back to the city. Until he understood this world better, he thought it best to remain cautious.

Which left him with few options here.

The creatures which joined them were not youma, which Ymir — whose only experience with any such creatures over the last few weeks had been with youma — faced with some surprise. They were alike in their monstrous appearances and the apparent danger they posed, but they felt different.

This was not Chaos. Or perhaps it was, but… different. Ymir thought he would be able to sense it, if that were the case. The only sense he got from these creatures was that they very much existed.

But what did he know? He was still getting used to existing a thousand years from the only time and place he’d ever truly known.

One of the creatures lunged for him. Or it might have lunged to go past him, but Ymir happened to be in the way. Regardless, Ymir reacted too slowly to avoid the talons which caught on his bodice, slicing through the fabric, barely avoiding the flesh beneath. On instinct more than conscious planning, Ymir drew upon his magic and sent a spray of sleet into the creature’s eyes, ducking around its leathery body and wings to avoid its teeth and claws, only to crash headlong into another.

Same goes for this Deep Space Senshi who can’t really be depended upon not to just go, “whelp, guess I’ll die now,” and give up. He’s nicer, though.

Sailor Dejanira

Dejanira wasn't surprised when she saw they were being attacked, she frowned as she watched them fight each other and go after the civilians that had been pulled into this mess as well. She went to stand in front of one of the civilians since she knew they had no power to defend themselves. She wondered if that was the goal of these creatures to feed on the weak. Whoever they decided was weak whether it was their own kind or humankind. It was pretty clear that faction didn't matter right now so much. They were stuck here and they all had to survive yet again.

Lacaille senshi of books

Lacaille stood up when the creatures appeared she didn't have any more time to freak out. It was time to fight and defend. She took a deep breath to steady her nerves as she got up and went to defend one of the civilians. She stood at the ready, she had no idea if her magic would help her here or not. She was willing to try no matter what happened. There were a number of people here so there were enough hands to fight the creatures and make sure none of them ate the people without powers. This was nuts, but it seemed to be pretty normal for Destiny City.

Corrupt Super Fafnir

Whatever had been peering out of those rifts, it did not seem content to remain in whatever other dimension it called home.

Fafnir felt the strange energy crackling about him, crawling along his skin and making the hair stand up on the back of his neck. The felt it, somewhere out there, and apparently, so did... things. They clawed their way through those fissures and fell into this strange place, forcing the senshi to scramble to get of their way. For a terrified moment, he thought they were youma... but he couldn't feel them the way he felt youma. That didn't necessarily mean they were any safer than youma.

The things were hideous... all protruding bone, leathery skin, and teeth, and they snapped anything that caught their attention. Fafnir tried not to be one of those things, struggling to get himself out of the way as more and more of them arrived, surging toward some distant point, but there were too many, and they came too fast.

His boot slipped on a slimey rock as one of those fissures opened and something clawed its way free, tearing into this place nearly on top of him. It roared as it caught his motion, snapping at him, and he threw up an arm instinctively. He felt the fangs sink into the soft flesh and grate against bone as the jaws snapped closed and he screamed, the pain lancing through him. Panicked and desperate, he beat at the thing's face, trying to shove his fingers between it's jaws and get it to release him as it picked him bodily up and tries to shake him. Flesh tore and he felt the hot, wet flow of what was likely blood, colored nearly black in the dim light here. Another roar from behind signaled the approach of another of them, and Fafnir whipped his head around, still struggling as the monster held him aloft by his damaged arm.

In his desperation, he called up his magic and let it loose, a cloud of dark, sickly fumes pouring from his mouth. The cloud spread out from him, expanding to engulf the creature, and he heard it gurgling and coughing, stumbling backwards out of the cloud. Boils and sores covered it, turning its grey flesh a sickly dark green in patches. The one that held him growled as it dragged him backwards, earning itself another cry of pain from its captive.
