Oh- there were more people joking with her! Titanite threw the red haired man (Arsenolite) a grin before saying in a solemn tone "There are always fly-aways that can be controlled with a kirby, and I have a few of those. You would not want to be bald before aging steals that lovely hair line from you."
The tanned woman leaned her head to the side at the snort of laughter from behind her, throwing a cheeky wink at the handsome (and shirtless!? Oh, lovely) senshi (Albite).
She couldn't fully hide the vague discomfort that the vaguely serpentine Lieutenant (Nagyágite) inspired as he approached, but the returned the taller man's nod with a small, faint smile. He was an ally, and her own fear of winding up like... that... did not make the half youma less an ally, any more than a corrupted senshi. And one of those was leading this little dance party.
"Of course you can have some pins," Titanite positively purred to the other woman (Marialite) as she asked for some hair supplies, swinging her pack off her shoulders and reaching in to pull some of the clips out of one of the pockets, "And a couple of elastics in case you need them." Oh, all that lovely hair- Titanite would love to play with it, but that was something for another time entirely.
"I am Titanite," she told the Captain though all around could hear, "Feel free to yell if you need anything more. That goes for the rest of you as well. Shorten as needed."
As for the poor, poor, suddenly inundated Kamacite, their glorious lead shark bait. She was going to say something else, noting the clear color sliding across those cheeks, but decided to hold off for the moment. They had certainly come into this with a plan, and the senshi would direct. Going off to try and 'scout', or making assumptions or disruptions in this chain of command here... Nah. Not where she wanted to die, and certainly not five minutes in to the full Rift Experience.

The Rift was not Lopezite’s ideal destination in any circumstance, and he couldn’t help but wonder how far and how deep others had gone to track their target out here. He had strayed a bit from the Dark Kingdom, but never so far--even when he had gone out with company. The further they got from everything he knew, the more unnerving it was.
He wasn’t afraid; he couldn’t find it in his heart to let such an emotion claim him, but he was cautious. It would have been foolish to enter here and not understand that this wasn’t just the youma that were dangerous, but the location as well. It was unpredictable and unsteady, and any injury could have been fatal. When they were so far out, with no way to teleport back, first aid was limited. Energy and starseeds might have made things manageable but he wasn’t going to risk getting hurt and wasting resources if he could help it.
He traveled carefully, mindful of the area around him and how he traveled across it. He kept his eye on the rest of the group out of habit; there were others the same rank as he was, but there were basic senshi and lieutenants and a Mauvian, and he couldn’t help but worry most for them. He trusted that they’d been chosen for skill, but he assumed lower rank was equated with some newness, and at the very least they were disadvantaged when it came to power.
If someone under him had been off on a mission he wasn’t attending, he would have hoped that another General would keep an eye out for them. So, he would do his best to do the same for these others. Especially the senshi.
Lopezite had yet to make up his mind about the leader of this group; he had no negative thoughts or feelings, only curiosity. An eternal Senshi, chosen for this role, with experience, was a good choice. He just couldn’t seem to get a reading of Kamacite. He seemed quiet and reserved, and Lopezite couldn’t assume what type of person was hiding behind that polite demeanor.
He seemed jumpy. Lopezite couldn’t blame him.
Axinite had some influence on approving this mission, and certainly he would have stepped up if there were any concerns with Kamacite.
If the General-King thought it was fine, Lopezite thought the same. He was just curious and wanted to find out more about Kamacite so he understood, too.
He knew Wolframite from Lavendulan but had made no effort to crowd him. He was eager to see how he worked, especially given what she had already said of him.
For the most part, Lopezite had been quiet; he was doing what he could to observe everyone and everything. This wasn’t a vacation where he could just idly chat and take it easy, but he didn’t mind a bit of conversation and lanced to Atheneite when she spoke.
“Oh, yes. I assume they’ll give us an incredible fight,” he answered easily. There was no point in sugar coating it; the youma might have been servants of Metallia, but the further they were from the Dark Kingdom, the less predictable anything was. “I think we’d be lucky if the mission was completed without conflict. Are you eager to fight?”
It was... perhaps unfortuante that he had been added to this team. But then again, he doubted that he would have been very effective in any team considering how tired he was, so perhaps this was the best.
Besides, he knew if he screwed up that no one would come to help him. He wouldn't be surprised if this type of mission was also used to weed out the weaker of Agents.
He would attempt to prove them wrong. He would never say that he would for certain, even he knew he was a bit of a liability at this point. The best he could do was fight anything that needed to be fought, try not to hit anyone else, don't stand in stupid, and hope for the best.
It was these sorts of moments that he really wished they had some sort of healing potion or something. If they were to make it out of this place alive, he would have to ask Beni if that was in his plan for those plants. They may have been, but he couldn't remember. With it having been so long and his tiredness, he was starting forget conversations that he had before.
He was very glad that his uniform included gloves, boots, and a mask because if he weren't wearing any of those things, it would make traversing this part of the Rift that much harder. Considering this team's part in all of this, he wasn't surprised that the Senshi leading them was this jumpy. It was practically a beacon to all Youma saying "come get us!" Especially with the display at the hall of Shadows. He did feel a bit of empathy for any of the Senshi here. To be Corrupted and welcomed by the Agents yet rejected at the same time by the inhabitants of this place.
He wondered if he would be able to find Ödön here. The Youma might make for some good eye in the sky for them if it was willing.
Marialite snorted at Arsenolite's joke. "Nothing else to do, I guess," she agreed. "I'm Captain Marialite." It was an introduction for everyone who might be listening, including Titanite and Kamacite, though she supposed their leader probably already knew who was who. Maybe. She'd never organized an operation, what did she know, really.
"Thank you!" She said, cheerily, taking the offered pins and elastics from Titanite so that she could start securing her hair in place. Once it was relatively held up, braids wrapped around and tucked under, and pinned and tied in place, she sighed. "I know I must have put a lot of work into growing all this hair out, and really, I do like it, but every once in a while I wonder what I was thinking."
The half-youma was alert and focused, walking the length of the Crag and trying to keep his lantern low as to not hurt his eyes. It had been through the Rift many times, comfortable around the sounds of youma bit also respectful enough to not drop his guard. This was their home and these knights deserved some sanctuary after giving everything in the first war. While he knew that if they should stop them that they would need to be handled, he disliked the idea of unnecessary conflict with those valuable to them.
But then again, they were after a youma themselves. This bothered him, but like all of them, their lives meant nothing if it advanced the war effort. Should he ever corrupt to such a state, feral and mind lost, he would be thankful for the chance to help his comrades with his own death.
As the General came over, he turned to smile. "I'm glad you came. It's a unique chance to see something rare and better arm ourselves. There are a lot of new faces I haven't seen. I wonder if they even know that these youma were once one of us and that many have been in the Rift for some long that they have lost the thoughts and drives of their last lives. After all, youma don't feel the same way you do." Even he had felt moments the changes to his thoughts and feelings. Minor tweaks to his person that differed from the other officers.
His attention was on their appointed Lead of this mission. He wasn't much familiar with them, bit if they were appointed then he had no place to question it. Power given was power earned.

Their somnolent welcome to the Scar's basin was slowly worn out. When it became apparent that the officers and senshi would not pass the area by, youma stirred. Where Cervantite and Calaverite marveled at refractive eyes in a hole, those eyes vanished. From a hole above them, a youma sprang out — at first, only a pair of great, feathered wings tipped with claws, then a draconic body followed, ending in a snake's head. The snake's head hissed at the pair, eyeing them with the same refractive lenses that they spied earlier.
The creature had no head but for that at the end of its tail, and its pair of woefully short reptilian arms brandished claws several inches long. Another violent hiss, and it dove for Arsenopyrite.

If Titanite continued looking up, she would have seen a pair of bat wings flying through the area, supporting a face like a blown-out cannon. Talons splayed, it darted for the group. Arsenopyrite's search for Ödön has been answered.
Vehemently offended by Albite's cowrie shell scarf, a large eel youma squirted its upper body out of one of the myriad holes. Back and forth it swayed, choosy over its target, as its vermillion dorsal spines rippled. Yellow creature, yellow target — with little warning, it darted at Cleeia.

And Kamacite was right to look at the ground, for not every youma hid in a hole. Two halves of the same hole — plant-like creature, half a venus flytrap's mouth on a fly's hook-laden legs, and another half a flytrap's mouth with a crab's pincers. When mounted together, they could pull prey in and crush it, drain its energy through digestive enzymes. As they were, however, the pair could only meander clumsily as they tried to rejoin. This bumbling pair smacked into Nagyágite's leg.

Youma are easily distracted and dissuaded from their targets! If your character attacks the youma, the youma will retaliate. In 24 hours, I will post again for the youma (or post their death scene, if they get brutalized). At that time, I will distribute damage to characters based on a percentage of the youma's HP. Try to be quick about taking these ones down, because other youma aren't going to be polite about joining the fray!

Corrupt Sailor Albite Senshi of Retribution HP: 50 Atk: 4 Albite had been on the verge of introducing himself - eager to join in with Cpt. Mari and Lt. Arsen who'd all cloistered around. If they wanted to go on about hair; he coulda gone on. Then everything had exploded into motion, the air, the earth, the walls - screams, flashes of yellow and beasties scuttling up from beneath their very feet.
"Motherfu---" Albite instinctively swore, and ducked at the sound of batwings overhead. His gaze shuttered between the back of the group, the poor Senshi caught up by the creatures - yellow on black. Everything in him that screamed 'attack',was summarily crushed down by the knowledge of his own limitations. Every bit of training he'd had with his General rearing up and demanding pause.
He only had three uses. They weren't even deep in. He'd need them later.
Man, being a Basic Senshi s u c k e d.....
"Someone call those bastards off!" Albite bit off, casting a hopeful glance at Titanite and Kamacite, as he shouted the obvious towards the back. That was what Generals were for after all, they could talk to those things. If not that? They could kill them, and all without wasting the Senshi's magic five minutes in...
Having spoken, Albite made himself a solid presence at Nagyágite's side - and made to turn the gross plants that'd injured their half-youma companion into kickballs. Hauling off and swinging his booted foot out at the twin Gemini youma. He hoped to punt them off into the distance like a pair of soccer balls. Out from beneath their feet, and especially away from those holes.
He had three ******** uses of his attack to his name, and he wasn't about to waste his energy on a pair of scuttling plant halves with teeth.

Apparently they would not have time for more pleasant diversions; Titanite was beaming back at the lovely Marialite, occasionally glancing back at the sky, when things... happened.
Youma crawled from nowhere, and the General was readying herself for battle when the cry of "Someone call those bastards off!" filled her ears.
Well. Okay then.
"Stop!" she snarled to the snakey youma (Quetzacoatl) that was not currently being punched; "Don't fight us."

As Bloodstone expected, sooner rather than later the youma attacked. He couldn’t say he’d ever had the need to attack a youma before, but he’d fought a Knight’s summon and still had scars down his leg from the encounter.
Bloodstone swung the broad side of his pick at the half of the flytrap youma the yelling Senshi (Albite) was trying to punt, hoping to send it even further away from the partner it looked like it was trying to join up with, and away from the half-youma (Nagyágite) it had originally injured.
However, he did try to hit it towards Carnallite, who could also cause it some damage while it was still fumbling around.
He would let the Generals and take care of the other two. Unless they proved unable to handle it.

She proved this by throwing her boomerang at the flytrap youma (Gemini). The boomerang was a small thing made of plastic, utterly useless in the hands of someone who had no clue what they were doing; fortunately, Carnallite had some idea. What she couldn’t already accomplish before acquiring her weapon, she practiced at the training yard.
Don’t slaughter the youma. Hadn’t one of the Generals said that?
Perhaps the other two teams could heed the order better. Here? It wasn’t likely many of them would make it out alive without fighting their way through.

If the weird low trumpeting sound was anything to go by, it appeared that Ödön was in the vicinity. Unfortunately it seemed to come with the fact that all of the Youma within the area had started to attack, and he was unfortunate enough to be hit by one of them. He didn't really care what they looked like, as long as he could do something about them.
He summoned his horseman's pick and swung full force at the Youma Quetzacoatl. He wasn't sure if the other General's words would get to it, but he wanted it away from him. He was not here to mess around and let himself be attacked.
He didn't dare call Ödön to do anything yet thought he knew that the flying Youma was getting closer to them. He wasn't sure what exactly could happen if Youma fought Youma, but he did not want Ödön to be destroyed by its' kin.

Once again, Kamacite had to stare up at another Officer that came to speak with him. This time it was a half-youma. It wasn’t the fact that he was a half-youma that made him more flustered, but because he felt like he was so much shorter than he really was! How did he end up on the team with a bunch of really tall agents?
“Um, yes, please, thank you,” he politely responded, although he couldn’t say for certain what he was planning until it was actually happening. Other than finding this elusive youma, the main plan was to make sure everyone stayed alive, but he couldn’t exactly tell the Lieutenant that, could he?
However, they weren’t alone in the Rift for long, and suddenly attacked by a group of youma.
But that was fine. They had four Generals with them, and a handful of Captains. If they could just try and convince these youma early on to join up with them, then maybe--
No, there were too many who were already out for blood. And Kamacite’s blood as well, apparently, because his once pink cheeks quickly drained of color.
He already felt as though things were falling apart. Agents were getting injured. Youma were being attacked. Except for General Titanite who had some wits about her and thought to try and command the youma as originally instructed at the briefing.
“Stop! We need allies here if we’re going to survive!” he found himself calling over the chaos of the fighting, although if anyone heard him was beyond him. He could barely hear himself over the pounding of his heart in his ears.
Alone he could have moved quickly to get away from the attacking youma, even though he was a Senshi, but he couldn’t exactly use his magic now without risking everyone.

There were eyes glinting at them from the caverns. Cervantite found himself unwittingly clenching his arm a little tighter in Calaverite's grasp. Around all these agents, they should probably be fine... But there were a lot of youma, and Cervantite felt pretty confident that if there was going to be a surprise attack, it would be him and the other senshi who were the first targets.
So maybe it wasn't all that surprising when a slithering, hissing youma dove from a cavern above them. Cervantite barely even had a chance to fully see it before his body very abruptly decided to yank Calaverite with him as he smacked himself up against the nearest wall and out of the way as the youma launched itself forward.
They were the bait. The combat team. That had been very clearly expressed. Fights should be expected, and since Cervantite had no ability to befriend or command the creatures here, it was all he could do to attack.
They already hated him, so he didn't have to worry about anything disliking him more later. If the youma were dusted here, they'd probably regenerate in a matter of days.
But if Cervantite died, there was no magical undo button for that. Dead was dead to a human, and he wasn't looking to be dead just yet. Of course he was going to go all in. It was the only thing he could feasibly do. And amidst all the chaos of everyone else's attacks, coupled with the appearance of more youma, he didn't think a little firestorm would be misplaced.
Cervantite disentangled himself from Cala in an instant. The youma that had dived in from above them already had two generals tending to it, so it didn't seem like there was much Cervantite could offer there. But an eely youma had targeted another senshi. And corrupts had to stick together in these trying times.
He shouted his attack and felt the immediate pulse of heat, a reverberating sort of warmth that signaled it had successfully activated. Cervantite kicked from the ground and threw a rocket punch to the side of the eel youma's head.

Sailor Scout Attack ▼ Fan the Flames Diesel must make physical contact with another person or object in order to use his magic. The energy expelled by the impact provides the necessary 'fuel' to power his abilities, and so the magic's strength varies dependent upon how much effort he exerts. Simple contact may cause a flash burn, while something more forceful could cause a contained burst of flames that allows Diesel to forcefully repel enemies. Severity and duration of damage is up to target. He is capable of activating magic on himself (by clapping, snapping, stomping, etc) to propel himself nearer to targets. He has thirty seconds from casting to make contact with something, but the magic itself lasts for only a single burst on impact. May be used three times per battle.
"I wouldn't miss coming down here on a mission. I still remember piecing a great youma back together, I especially remembering all that drinking." He didn't remember much when he got home, and the headache in the morning had not been pleasent. But he did remember the gathering in a youma run bar. "I wonder if the bar is still around...perhaps we should look for it another time." Though he wasn't one for drinking it would be nice to see if it was still there, and well staffed. He might even agree to a few drinks, though it would be far less exciting as it had been during that mission. Having a General Queen singing, ratehr poorly, while dancing with a cardboard cut out had been of great amusment. Too bad she was gone, and her cutout as well he was sure.
"I doubt many now know what youma were...and are. Even if they know I doubt many have the same respect for them as we do." He remembered Wolframite holding an especially high level of respect for the youma, even more than he did.
"All they see are y ouma...not once had been." Shrugging a bit, there was no helping that really.
What he wasn't expecting, at least not this soon, was a youma attack. Three youma and nearly everyone seemed to be ganging up on a poor youma which looked something like a venus flytrap.
"Leave the youma, it will only attract more." Shaking his head, knowing few, if any, would listen to him. Instead he shifted his focus to the youma itself. "Cease your atack youma, join us and do as we command." Again, he doubted he'd be listened to but he had a better shot this way - right?
