Captain Paracelsian

Paracelsian would not decline an invitation from a General-King, though the notion made him nervous for a few reasons. If Axinite looked through his records (which he probably had), he might have seen something about the whole catch and release episode with Cor Caroli, along with neglecting to explicitly sign up for a Negaverse branch. The latter was less of an issue, as he had contemplated signing up for the Information branch anyway and would officially declare it when the time was right (or if he was given a swift kick in the rear and asked to). The former would be more difficult to explain away, but he was prepared to eat his losses on that one. He just had to start over if or when he could.

He sucked in a breath, offered a nod of acknowledgment to the General-King upon arrival, then wandered over to the nearest familiar faces. Sure enough, Sylvite was there with her Corrupt in tow (yes, her Corrupt, the one she secured), and Paracelsian felt a hair awkward about not having anything to show on his end. "Captain Sylvite," he greeted, sparing Cybele a cursory glance. "You seem to be doing well. It looks like you have a good grip on your situation." It was a weird way of saying "good job of grabbing and keeping a Corrupt," but it was what came out of his mouth.

For Sylvite!

Lieutenant Nambulite

Now, see, if certain others were doing their best to maintain a serious demeanor, Nambulite was doing the opposite. He was veritably zipping around the space with a goofy grin, because nothing excited him more than the notion of a General-King needing him. Granted, as a Lieutenant he was probably just needed as an extra body to fill space, but it was better than nothing. He was practically tingling with glee when he felt the summon whoosh, and now that he was here he was going to make himself useful. Or annoying. But hopefully useful.

Nambulite skittered over to a group of familiar faces, though one seemed to be distancing himself. He gave a quick wave to Crocoite and then did a comical skid over to Ekanite (best as he could in his heels anyway). "Heyyyy, look who showed up! Bet you're excited about getting to do something for a big boss, huh?" He then realized that there was a much stronger presence nearby. "Is this your boss lady over here?" Talking about her like she was further away than she was was probably not a good choice, but when did Nambulite ever make good choices consistently?

Lithiasaur
Bugging Ekanite! And in Painite's orbit.

Lieutenant Cafetite

Cafetite accepted the invitation with good cheer, politely requesting a summons as she did. She hadn't expected food to be present, so she'd smuggled some goods that she'd made herself, only to find that a bevy of treats were already present. It made her feel a little awkward, but a little variety wouldn't hurt, right? There was, of course, the question of who had the time to bake all these things, but she would be fine with the answer either way (one person baking for days on end? a secret Negaverse baking collective that no one had told her about? either way, how nice).

What she was about to do was a bit bold and might be perceived as sucking up, but she figured that it wouldn't hurt to give Axinite a taste of what she could do (even if it wasn't a taste of what she could do for the Negaverse). With a sweet smile, she sauntered up to Axinite with her carefully wrapped platter of treats. "Um, excuse me, sir," she said. "I didn't know there would be food here, so I prepared some of my own... would you like one?"

Cafetite maybe being more direct than she should be.

Corrupt Sailor Calaverite
User Image
Being stuck in Negaspace wasn't the same as being stuck in the city. There weren't boundaries in Destiny City, and there were all manner of shops to explore and people to harass. DC was fuller than Negaspace. It just happened that Calaverite's most reliable bed and shelter were in the Dark Kingdom, and because of his inability to teleport from one to the other without assistance, he was frequently in the barracks.

It could get boring in Negaspace. There weren't near as many people, there were substantially fewer activities, and so many places were just outright off-limits for fear of and penalty by death.

So at the very first hint that something was happening in the castle, it didn't take Calaverite longer than a blink to decide he better go check it out. It wasn't often that he got messages from anyone besides his general or Rakovanite, so this must be important. And if he got a chance to explore and see some more people, that was just a bonus.

Calaverite arrived at the meeting room with the impression everyone in attendance would be stuffy and lame, a bunch of agents just doing what they were ordered.

So of course he was pleased to see a small scattering of both agents and senshi mingling, speaking quietly amongst themselves in little clusters. It was still far from exciting, but seeing people talk to each other was better than walking in to a room filled with silence. And there were snacks! Calaverite flit to the table like a specter, plucking up one cookie and popping it into his mouth, and then because no one was there to stop him, another. And another.

Captain Seraphinite

Moment he'd gotten the notice, he'd texted Ilian, Cabhan, and Alexis. The first to confirm what he already figured, that Jet would be in attendance, and to make sure the latter two knew they'd be expected to attend. By him, anyway. Rigel might have finally gotten his damn promotion, but the Captain still held rank as his reporting officer.

His arrival was silent enough, after giving quick glances to again confirm those he needed to be concerned with were, in fact, present. Rigel being able to teleport his own a** in was a relief to him... meant he only needed to taxi Spectrolite in.

His boots clunked along the floor as he made a general bee-line towards Jet and Aqua, giving a nod to the latter and a quiet clap on the shoulder to the former. Keeping his voice low, he queried, "Beyond dealing with the Rift, any idea what this is about?" Pale eyes scanned across the room and to the General-King in particular, taking general stock of who else was in the room.

Corrupt Super Rigel

All he'd need to know, was the mission was in relation to the Rift, and Rigel was happy to join up with whatever was needed. A relatively newly minted Super, the bone claws on his left foot clicked faintly as he walked, long, tattered ribbons trailing behind him. Gloved hands lightly teased with the skulls at his chest. He was delighted to have been able to just teleport himself in. One less thing to have to concern his flatmate-slash-Captain with.

He gave a quick wave towards Jet, a beam of a smile on his face beneath his tattered hood, before moving over to grab up a few of the snacks. Blue eyes flickered across the collected assortment of folks present, searching for familiar faces. He somewhat took up space then near Seraphinite and Jet, but leaned back against a wall, nibbling his collected food and balancing a drink on his folded arm.

Lieutenant Spectrolite

She felt... kinda awkward being there. Sticking close to Seraphinite, she looked about the collection of gathered agents in a bit of awe. It'd been a while since she had done something with a bigger group. Well, unless her Captain or Rigel counted. But just three was not a large group, so... no.

But she mused at the slight humor that, once again, the Rift was involved. Just like the training session! Well. Sessions. But. Yeah. She had to bite her tongue to keep herself from asking Sera, think we'll get attacked again? Because, from what she understood, it was kinda a given something was going to be angry you were wandering around its territory.

Following after Seraphinite, she offered a smile and sheepish wave to the two Generals (Jet and Aqua) the Captain placed himself near. Voice chipper, she greeted them, "Hiya! I'm Spectrolite, nice to meet'cha!"

Though she definitely noticed Seraphinite's scowl at her informality, she only brightened further. Annoying him had become a passtime of hers.

"...she needed a reporting officer, so I got her," was his grumbled explanation. To her, he grunted, "These are Generals Jet and Aquamarine, tone it--"

She perked up all the more, head tilting somewhat. "Oh! Aren't those the ones you said you were recruited with? That's so cool! Wait, how come you're not a General yet, too?"

"--Tone it down," was the snarl that finally made the tiny pixie shut her trap, all of 4'10" staring up with a once again sheepish grin to the 6'7" man looming above her. She quickly, and quietly, took up a position somewhat behind him, effectively zipping her lips in the process.

General Painite rolled her eyes and moved away from Ekanite the moment she spotted someone heading their way. Not too far, not out of earshot or if he needed her for anything, but she certainly was not in the mood to talk to anyone willing to befriend him. It meant they were probably as bubbly and charming as he was, which was a lot for her to deal with in multiple doses.

"Oh hey!!!" Ekanite laughed, waving eagerly at Nambulite. Crocoite, for his part, lifted two fingers in return greeting as the other passed, but then returned his attention to what he was doing.

"Is it that obvious? I mean, how often does stuff like this happen? I mean... like. Literally, because if it's all the time then maybe it's not as exciting as I think it is, but right now I'm jazzed!" Ekanite laughed, not really needing to point out how very eager he was. Painite's eyes narrowed warily at Nambulite when he motioned to her, a disapproving parent immediately deciding this friend was not good enough for her son.

"Oh, yeah, that's Boss! General Painite, I mean. But..." he lowered his voice, leaning toward Nambulite, "you probably don't want her to keep glaring at you like that. Wanna get some safety snacks?"

General Jet

Jet had his eyes closed, by the time Seraphinite arrived. He was trying very hard to ignore the voices around them. Did they not read the notice? Did they not know this was for (something of) a rescue mission? In the Rift? It was bad enough that General-King Axinite looked stressed, but to have people running around behaving like children was… troublesome.

Could they be trusted to take the mission seriously? Would it put Aquamarine or Seraphinite's lives in danger?

“Not yet,” Jet responded to Seraphinite, opening his eyes only after drawing in a deep breath to release slowly as though to settle himself. He rolled his neck as well to try and knock out some of the tension. Still, he was glad to see that Seraphinite was there, and Rigel as well.

The self introduction of a too loud Lieutenant tipped him a little over the edge.

“You’d do well to show some respect in the presence of a General-King,” Jet greeted the woman with a cool glance, although Seraphinite already seemed to get her to quiet down. He glanced back towards the front of the room where Axinite was standing, frowning as he tried to imagine just what was in store for them.

“If this really is a rescue mission, I hope whoever it is hasn't been missing for long,” Jet said mostly to Aquamarine and Seraphinite. He had a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach that was being made worse by the flippant attitudes of so many others.

Corrupt Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite did not like the Rift. He’d been inside too many times to count, and he would prefer never to go back in again. The purple sky and shifting landscape made him uneasy. And yet here he was. Standing solemnly beside Misha-- beside Cymophane.

“This is likely going to be dangerous, so stay by me if you can,” he requested quietly, although he wasn’t sure how General Jet treated his recruits. If he micromanaged them, Kamacite might have a problem keeping an eye on his only friend. It was both gut wrenching and a little of a relief that Mis-- Cymophane was a senshi like himself, and part of the Negaverse.

He’d teleported them both to Negaspace, but didn’t bother going over to the food tables. Not until the General-King was done giving them whatever information he would about their mission.

“He looks tired,” Kamacite observed, but he could imagine the work of a General-King was never finished.

Lt. Periodot

Peridot was not one to question a summons by her sduperiours.

The red haired woman had joined to keep aliens away from her husband and his baby girl and damnit, she was going to do her best. So, when a superiour said jumpo, she had the self discipline to say 'How High'; when told to engage enemies,. she had the good sense to bring her A-game. She applied discipline to her job just as she did her singing career. Gety it done, get it done right.

Still.

When Peridot arrived, she was disappointed not to know anyone, and the woman stretched, approaching the crowd with an air of calm confidence before smiling a winning smile. No reason toi look for fights or anything, she was among her fellows!

Corrupted Sailor Ferris

She moved like a broken doll.

Corrupt Ferris entered the room slow of step and quiet, broken and suspicious of everything as she tried to creep for rthe baked good in the room, watching others with an air of fear and uncertainty. Then again...

Callisto abandoned her. She thought she was the one and she abandoined her and now Ferris didn't know whom to trust or what to do. All she knew was... She was incredibly lost. Finding a cookie, she took it, and ducked herself into a cornwer, eyes taking in her surroundings as she looked arounfd the room, making small noises nerbvously as she clutched the treat.

She didn't want attacked. She didn't want her. She just wanted the meeting over, and done, and the senshi watched the room as sahe shivered, half-vacant and slightly broken in a way, and above all, cautious. So cautious.

General Aquamarine

Aquamarine would be laughing at Jet’s obvious (well, obvious to him) disgust-induced stress if he weren’t currently fighting back annoyance himself.

It was bad enough that he’d been dragged into the Negaverse with Jet, worse that he’d been doing this (to some degree of willingness) for what would be seven years this summer, but nothing made it more aggravating than the frequent disappointment he felt when he took note of some of his allies. The Senshi, for one. Youma weren’t much better, in his opinion. Then there were the agents who seemed… lacking.

Some of them needed to be whipped into shape. (Figuratively? Literally? Both? He didn’t much care at this point.)

Aquamarine glanced at Seraphinite, pleased to see him only because it meant there was someone else at least moderately trustworthy to make sure Jet didn’t get himself into too much trouble. Slowly, he flicked his gaze from Sera to the Lieutenant with him. Whatever she said her name was. Aquamarine stopped listening as soon as she opened her mouth.

Until she asked Sera why he wasn’t a General yet. Then Aquamarine paid attention.

Annoyed though he might be, a smirk still managed to twitch onto Aquamarine’s face.

“Great question. Why aren’t you a General yet, Sera?"

Corrupt Sailor Cymophane

“Isn’t the Rift dangerous for us in particular?” Cymophane asked, glancing around the meeting room with curious eyes.

The people here were interesting, to say the least. Some of them were Senshi, like himself and Kamacite. Some of them were normal agents, like General Jet. Some of them were youma… ish. Like youma, but not quite. Or like humans, but not quite. A combination, maybe? Half? The concept was interesting, though Cymophane couldn’t say he’d like to find out what it was like.

He was still getting used to being a Senshi. A Corrupt Senshi, which Yuuri assured him was one of the good ones. Or were they the bad ones? He supposed that depended on who you asked. Whatever the case, they were Senshi of the Negaverse, and the Negaverse needed their help.

Or something.

“It’s too bad I didn’t bring my camera,” he said in an even tone of voice that might make him sound like he meant it, but he smiled at Kamacite to let him know it was a joke.

“Should I check in with Jet, or does it matter? You’re more or less the same rank as him, right? So can’t I just hang out with you for now?”

Captain Sylvite

Someone had found her pretty quickly. Sylvite had to whirl away from the table and just give various cheerful waves for about three seconds, since her mouth was still full of cookie.

To be fair, the cookie was great. She had no regrets.

"Paracelsian," she eventually managed, her voice going a little bit singsong with his name so long, "Hi. It's good to see you here!"

With the way he was eyeing Cybele, she couldn't help but wonder about what had ended up happening to the senshi he'd had at knifepoint that night, the blue boy. Still, even she knew better than asking personal questions like that in a super public place like this, so for once in her life, Sylvite managed to bite down on her curiosity.

"Yeah, I'm doing good!" she said. "I mean, it's hard not to be doing good when there's snacks." She gestured towards the table, bouncing a little on her toes. "And she's okay, too."

She took another bite before asking, "Do you have any idea what this mission's gonna be like? I haven't seen any information other than what was in the invite."

Corrupt Eternal Cybele

Cybele cracked a small smile. "If you're not sure, I can be your poison taster," she said, selecting her own savory pastry from the table before taking a dainty bite. She squinted a bit, then gave a satisfied nod. "Just cheese in there, I believe."

It seemed fresh baked, too, which was impressive. She wasn't sure how many ovens were in the castle.

"I'm all right. Everything is sort of becoming routine, now," she said.

She scanned the room as well, picking out one or two people who she'd seen in passing, but mostly she saw strangers. "I still feel like I haven't met that many people." Her brows pressed together. "Although I can't say for certain that none of them have met me."

LT. Atheneite

Atheneite was rather surprised when she got the call for help. Realistically she wasn't sure how much help she could be. She was still not very strong at least compared to the generals or even the captains of the Negaverse but she was curious what was going on . She answered the summons letting herself be carried away.

She was more than a little impressed at the group that had already assembled. It honestly seemed like overkill, whatever they were needed for did it really require this many generals and captains and corrupted senshi?

She noticed one person she recognized. Her general, Painite, was here along with some boy she didn't recognize. She supposed that was the other Lieutenant that Painite had mentioned the last time they had met. She decided not to bother the general and instead focused on all the officers she had never met. She hoped there'd be a fight, both so that she could have some fun and so that she could see what the other agents and senshi were capable of. She crossed her arms leaning against the wall waiting for something to happen.

Lieutenant Jadarite

Jadarite did not come to the castle very often. Most of the information she was working with was low-risk enough that she could do her tasks in her office in the city, and her generals worked there as well. It was easy enough to subtly slip them energy without having to bother with whatever this place was.

From her few trips to view it, her impressions were that the decor was outdated and it was terribly inconvenient to access.

Still, Jada's ambition was a strong as ever, and she was not about to give up a chance to network with one of the leaders of the Negaverse.

She found herself summoned to the castle at the designated time, and after some time spent turned around in the terribly twisted hallway, she found a room that was already filling up with agents. Some were gathering around a table, but Jada did not head that way, not wanting to look like she was only here for the snacks.

Instead, she spent a moment scanning the room, trying to determine if any of her teammates had bothered to show up-

Only to find her feet swept out from under her by a large, unruly tail.

She stumbled and collapsed onto one hand and one knee, the other hand flying up to make sure nothing happened to her glasses.

She glanced up, brows knit and lips pursed in a scowl and watched as the dinosaur youma continued to prance around the room.

"Whose is this?" she snapped. An agent came up to the youma, and she narrowed her eyes at him in turn. "Yours?"

Corrupt Sailor Cacoxenite

Cacoxenite knew she'd been slacking. There were a few reasons for that. Having to deal with Lawsonite up close and personal as much as she did (because for some reason, the girl liked to tail her just about everywhere when she was interested) gave her the jibblies, a deeply unsettled feeling. Looking at Lawsonite and a few other aspects had her wondering if this was the same Negaverse she'd been pulled into, the one that she'd thought was going to make her awesome. Then again, that had been five years ago. 15-year-old Maxine jumped at any opportunity to make some literal chaos, regardless of consequences.

Well, even if it was grasping at straws and hoping she'd find something to keep her head in the game, she would see about checking in her brethren. She expected no one to know who she was, and that was okay. She hadn't done anything to merit being recognized recently anyway. Picking out a corrupt near the sweets table, she sidled up to him (? it was hard to tell from this angle) and gave a tease that was decidedly tamer than usual. "If I pay you 20 bucks or something, will you eat everything on this table?"

Well, at least she didn't immediately call him a lardass, but the barb was definitely on the tip of her tongue.

EchosSweet
Calaverite is being bugged!

Corrupt Sailor Lawsonite

Lawsonite was interested in the summons, kind of, insofar as she was interested in anything that wasn't her fledgling art business and floating thoughts these days. Cacoxenite was going to go, so that was enough to tip her over into coming along, she supposed. She had a feeling that "Coxie" was unnerved by her, just a bit, but she did nothing about it. Cacoxenite was a big girl. She could handle it.

So, Lawsonite did as she always did, lugging along her notepad for some doodles before whatever the mission was. Though she knew how to do it pretty well at this point, it was more difficult to draw while walking, and one line just didn't seem to fit properly in place.

Jadarite may have tripped over Novus's tail, but Lawsonite straight-up tripped over Jadarite, landing near her with a yelp and an awkward sprawl. "Whoops," she murmured as she tried to get to her feet, dusting herself off as she went.

Lieutenant Cafetite

Well, as badly as Cafetite wanted Axinite's approval of her treats, there was something more pressing that caught her attention. There was an oddly slow-moving corrupt in her peripheral for enough time to be recognized. Her head turned, and she had a bad feeling that she was staring at the poor girl a little more obviously than she should have. She turned back to Axinite and did her best to make it clear that she was apologetic. "Um, I'm sorry, something just... I-I'll be right back."

Cafetite brought her little tray over with her as she followed that sad corrupt over to her corner. She probably didn't need to, but she had a reason. She offered Ferris a soft, sweet little smile, no showing of teeth. "You seem so sad," she remarked; she wasn't about to ask the cowering corrupt if she was okay, because obviously she wasn't. "Did something happen? Or are you just having trouble getting your bearings?" She wasn't sure if the Corrupt was new and struggling or if something else was going on, but she wanted to know, and she wanted to soothe it the best she could.

Lieutenant Nambulite

Nambulite couldn't help but laugh at seeing Ekanite come to life from his prodding. So much for trying to put on a serious face! "Yeah, this stuff doesn't happen all the time, so it's definitely something. Wonder what boss man has for us? I bet he's either expecting a lot or nothing at all, because-" His attention and head whipped around to where the Chaos Agent Pileup was starting. "Yeah, never mind, considering that a Corrupt senshi just tripped over a Lieutenant who just tripped over part of a youma, he's probably not gonna expect so much now."

When he heard the name of Ekanite's General, he muttered, "General Painite? Oof." The "oof" was definitely not as muffled as it should have been, but he was interjecting less because of the inherently intimidating name and more because that lady looked like she was going to fold him in half for coming too close. He offered Painite a clumsy salute before resuming his ridiculously cocky cheer. "Safety snacks? Yeah, sounds like a good idea, but I wonder if there's anything less sweet around. Too much sugar makes me vibrate like a tuning fork."

Lithiasaur

Captain Paracelsian

Paracelsian did not like the way Sylvite said his name. It was probably just because the girl was stuffing her cheeks, but it just seemed weird and the weird tonality put his paranoia on edge. Still, he was able to swallow the paranoia for just a bit. "I'm glad to hear it, for both you and her. I... well." He narrowly avoided telling her that he was having some major ups and downs. "I'm getting by, one way or another." An itchy thought popped into his mind: what if Sylvite, as a member of the Information branch, could peek through his file? That would make things difficult, to say the least.

He gave a shrug about the nature of the mission. "I wish I knew. More importantly, regardless of the scope, I want to know why General-King Axinite is being so close-lipped about the mission details. It's unnerving."

Corrupt Super Lellouch

She hadn't seen a call for a witch hunt of one of their own in ages. Not that she exactly called everyone here 'one of her own.' But... oh well. Technicalities, she supposed. The corrupt stood off to the side with another corrupt. One that actually was one of her kind. In more ways then one and said nothing.

Guardian Cat Iolite

Iolite sat agitatedly at the heels of Lellouch and Corvusite. She watched as people had gathered, letting out little more then a low irritated chirp now and again. This was... different, from things she'd been a part of before. She'd never seen this side of things. She'd heard of them yes, but to experience it was something entirely different. Was this... normal for them? Sure people defected, but to go to this kind of length... The cat sighed with a low chirp, rubbing her head against Lellouch's boot.

Corrupt Sailor Corvusite

Corvusite wasn't all to sure why he was here... He much preferred to do the more...solo line of work but... Even that was beginning to grow stale. Corvusite watched as people mingled, glancing between them and his current company. There was little reaction out of the shorter corrupt. Hell the cat seemed to give more then she did. Ah well... This was still better then doing nothing he supposed. At the very least this would prove interesting.

He sighed, well. He supposed he better make nice and look like he actually wanted to be there before someone questioned him. He didnt have time for that sorta bullshit.

Novus was completely oblivious to the utter, unironic chaos exploding behind him, swinging his tail and staring at his new friend excitedly, still enraptured by how pretty he found her.

Crocoite, however, turned his head to see two Negaverse soldiers, or rather one Lieutenant and one Corrupt, on top of each other, and he could easily figure out what happened. Heaving a profound sigh, he covered his face with his hand for a moment before moving his fingers to his temple and ordering himself not to get a headache from Novus' ridiculousness.

"My apologies, ladies. It is said they have a brain the size of a walnut, but I think, perhaps, Novus' sets the record for smallest."

His apology was paper thin, the corner of his lips curling in amusement at the sight, even though he was trying his very hardest to not find his big dumb monster endearing in his unrelenting eagerness. And since Crocoite himself had not been the one knocked over, he was not the one that was meant to be upset.

Offering his hand to Lawsonite first, as she was on the top of the small pile, he offered an almost chivalrous aid to get her back to her feet.
