Early Morning Errands
Class Choice Solo The small house in Elehun was quite and light was just starting to filter into the windows. Malea was already up, and now that there was enough light to see, she immediately set out to get her day started. She ran the brush through her wet hair, tying it into the long braid she always wore, and shuffled through her clothes in her closet. It was a day off for her, and that meant she could leave and go to the banks to gather supplies.
Malea had loved herbs and plants since she was little, and now that she had grown up some she was determined to further pursue her interests. Her fathers didn’t really understand, but that was okay. It was something they didn’t need to, not yet. She drifted down to the bottom story and opened the door quietly, her empty bag draped over her shoulder. She didn’t want to wake them, and they knew where she would be off to. It helped ease her sense of worry knowing that they wouldn’t be clueless as to where she was when she was out.
She swam along the edge of the marsh and pushed herself up out of the water. It was heavier out on land, and her clothing was somewhat of a hindrance, but she didn’t always come out onto the coast so it wasn't that bad. She just needed some niminwort root and a little bit of lillyweed to get together the rest of what she needed for her potion. It would need to steep in a flame for a day, so it was still a lot of work yet to come, but Malea hummed to herself at the thought. She liked keeping busy, and the little concoction of hers would be useful later when she needed a little extra luck. She had a knack for getting together things that would work the way she wanted them too, as long as she handled them properly, and it was something she wanted to pursue for herself. With a little help maybe she could open up a shop of her own some day. It would be so neat, she thought to herself as she continued to daydream on her errands.(Word Count: 371)

Setting Up Shop
Prentice Growth Solo Malea took a deep breath in and rubbed her arms, looking over the rundown room in front of her. She had known that it was going to be a lot of work, but she didn’t think it was going to be this much labor. She had been working on saving up her coins, looking every now and then at the small little building that had sat unoccupied for years at the edge of town. It had a charm to it, but the years of neglect had taken its toll. With the neglect though came the tempting price tag. For a fraction of the cost of any other building in Salicora, Malea could own her own store, and really her own home. Her fathers were so nice and encouraging, but she was coming to be a grown woman now and she needed not only her own space, but she needed to think about what it was she wanted to do with her life.
She wasn’t one to worry about making a name for herself, but she was working hard at getting better at her spells and potions. She wanted to set down roots and have a space all her own to make her craft. And this little hut, while not in the ideal location, was it.
She finally had enough money just last week. And after hurrying down to the town hall she had the hut turned over to her ownership. Now she just had to put in the elbow work to get it up to a living condition and up and running. She had felt the pure excitement last week, but now standing in the small rooms covered in algae and rotting wood she didn’t quite feel so enthused. But it had to be done and when it was all over she knew she would love it and start the next chapter of her life.
She felt like she had worked for days, scraping the old wood and patching up what needed to be replaced. She scrubbed and swept and cleared out any old furniture that was left behind by the old owner. Her hands were raw and she was sore in her entire body, but the work was finally done. The empty building of her childhood was no longer empty and she grinned from ear to ear.
With just a few more days of work, the building was not only cleaned, but furnished. The main room that was to be her shop had a cozy table and chairs, a workbench, and was covered in nature. There were plants everywhere. Little lamps were tucked in corners and glowed with magic to illuminate her little store. There was an attachment she had added that jutted up to the shore and came out of the water. It had a cauldron and hearth for her to brew. The rest of the house was on the second floor and it was her small little bedroom and the kitchen. To her it was beautiful and she would be able to make whatever she needed there. It was a fresh start to her business, and she knew she would love it.
[Malea has been working on her potions and elixirs for the past few years and she feels she is finally ready to open up a true business, rather than just selling a few things here and there from a basket.](Word Count: 525)
