Truth or Dare has always been a fun and thrilling game that a youngling experienced as they grew up. But even adults may find themselves challenged to tell a secret or take on a dare. Which one will you pick, and how does it all play out?
[ Play out this prompt response by your character responding to a truth or a dare. If you're playing with another character, both will need to respond to their own individual challenge. If this is a solo, play out the response as if challenged by an NPC. ]

Kalpana 1
The death of Kalpana's parents had played a heavy role in the past weeks of Kalpana and Malea's life. Things had felt pretty dark for a while, the normal routine of the day tinged with shadow and the things that would normally bring laughter or mirth nowhere to be found.
But Kalpana felt like he was ready for change. He had hung on long enough to his grief and it was more than time to buck up and get on with life.
He had chosen today to spend with Malea. A day to just get away and be with each other. He had it all planned out. They would go out, have a picnic, explore the coastline, and talk about next steps.

Malea 1
The sun was just peaking out into the sky beyond the horizon when Kalpana had gently shaken her awake. Malea was surprised with the idea of a date.
It had been a rough few weeks, but she felt relatively sure that they would come out stronger for it.
She tried to start packing for a day trip but Kalpana wouldn't let her. Apparently he had it all figured out.
"It's a welcome surprise. Maybe we can go for a swim later if the weather holds up." She suggested to Kalpana with a kind smile on her face.

Kalpana 2
Kalpana nodded to Malea, it was a good idea. The thought of being close to Malea already had his mind settling into a better place... and the thought of swimming with her... well, his thoughts were less than appropriate.
He let a grin flutter across his face and grabbed onto Malea's arm, pulling her in closer for a kiss. "A swim would be nice. We'll see if you still want to when you see where I take you." Kalpana offered.
He had already packed their little picnic bag and they wouldn't need much more beyond that. Kalpana knew Malea didn't really travel beyond the swamps of Elehun, but he had bigger plans for today. They were so close to the northern beaches, it wouldn't take them too long to get there by cart. And he had already arranged a driver. "C'mon, before we're late." He murmured to her mysteriously before gently corralling her out the door and toward the market.

Malea 2
Malea's eyebrows raised in response to Kalpana's words. She couldn't begin to imagine where it was they were going at this point or how they could possibly be late to their own date. She let him prod her out the door and followed his lead.
Soon enough they were at the market square and there was a cart with an older menehune waiting for them. She threw Kalpana another confused look before letting the old man pull her up onto the back of the cart. "Oh my." She offered to Kalpana once he was seated beside her. "You're full of surprises today."

Kalpana 3
Kalpana pulled himself up onto the back of the cart with Malea, joining her on the bench she sat on. He gave her hand a light squeeze before settling the bag of supplies onto the floor between his legs and wrapping and arm around her shoulder. He could feel the heat of her skin on him and already felt more relaxed, more hopeful. Like he was her future.
"I hope you're ready for more of them." He gave her a wink before nodding to the older man driving the cart and he pulled off.
The drive wasn't really all that long, though it did feel worse with the lumps and bumps in the road. The path this way wasn't exactly well paved, not many made it this far north and the cooler northern air coming off of the coast was already starting to filter in as they neared their destination.
Malea had been good about not asking and ruining the surprise, though Kalpana had spent most of the drive bursting at the seems, nearly spilling the beans a couple of times.

Malea 3
Malea finally felt like she was getting used to the feeling of Kalpana just always being so close and within touching distance of her. She took comfort in it and leaned into the embrace. It was a lovely drive, she took in the sights of the forests and the changing greens from swamp to hardier trees. She still didn't know where they were going, but she could tell it was north.
It had taken them close to three hours to make the journey and by the time they had arrived it was close to lunch.
Malea could feel her stomach give a rumble of complaint by the time the cart had made it's stop.
She looked around at their location and looked to Kalpana with some small confusion. "Where are we exactly?" It didn't look all that different than just... forest. But she was trusting the process.

Kalpana wagged a finger at Malea, hopping off of the cart and grabbing the bag in one smooth motion before offering her his other hand to grab onto. "You'll just have to wait and find out. No ruining the surprise now that we're so close."
After Malea had stepped off of the cart and Kalpana had done his once over fussing to make sure she was ok, he turned to the cart driver. "Can you be back in a couple of hours? We'll be here waiting for you." He drew out some coin from the bag and made the agreement with the man before the cart trudged back into motion.
"This way." He pulled her across the shrubs separating the forest from the coast and let the beach air breeze across his face. Hopefully Malea liked the change in pace from their regular days.
"What do you think?"

Malea 4
Malea sucked in a quick breath when the coastline suddenly appeared before her eyes. She had never left the swamps of Elehun, she didn't even know if she knew that this had existed at any part of her life. "Oh it's wonderful!" She breathed out in something more like a whisper than an exclamation.
"How did you know this was here? Have you been here before?" She asked Kalpana.
She let him lead her further down the dark sand beach and they set up their picnic on the blanket that Kalpana had packed for them both.

Kalpana broke into a grin at Malea's reaction. His vision of the day was already living up to the reality. He felt his body get warmer at the idea that he could make Malea happy.
"Fishermen talk." He offered with a shrug. He hadn't been down this way before, but there were plenty who came through town after coming up this way.
"Listen Malea. I know things have been super serious lately and I want to change that. I want to start growing and laughing with you. Starting now." He dumped the picnic that he had packed onto the small pile in the center of the blanket they were now sitting on.
"Truth or dare." He asked her, the thought suddenly springing into his mind. His cheesy grin and eyebrow wiggle waiting eagerly in response from Malea.

Malea's eyebrows raised at Kalpana's sudden burst of playfulness. She knew of the game, but the last time she had played it had to have been years ago.
"Dare." She tilted her head to the side, wondering just what it was that Kalpana was trying to do.

Kalpana smirked with a fire in his eyes. "A dare huh?" He put his thumb to his chin, thinking on what it was he should have Malea do.
Obviously all of the less than public friendly things ran through his mind but it would be mean of him to do something like that to Malea, she was so prone to embarrassment. They had the beach to themselves for now, but who's to say who was nearby.
He leaned in until he could whisper in her ear and told her what she would do for a dare. "I want you to kiss me like it's the first time all over again." He smirked to her before planting his lips firmly on her mouth, bringing her in deeper for a kiss.

Malea 6
Malea sucked in a sharp breath of air when Kalpana whispered into her ear. She could feel his breath on her and she felt nearly dizzy. He brought her in for his dared kiss and she hummed with excitement, trying her best to give him what he wanted.
Kalpana's large hands wrapped themselves tighter around her and she knew with all her heart that now was the right time.
She threw her all into the kiss, giving him all of the passion she could muster, before she pulled back and whispered into his mouth. "I'm pregnant."

Kalpana 7
Kalpana's world felt like it had shifted under him and he was trying his best to stay upright. Of all the things Malea could have done, that was the least expected.
He pulled her in until his body and hers were locked together like a puzzle and embraced her with all of the feelings he felt welling up inside of him. "We're going to be parents." He whispered to her while this time gently kissing her cheeks, her mouth, her neck. He pressed light kisses all over her before settling down to put a gently hand on her stomach.
