My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Blackmore Styx

Name Meaning: I know it is not the one you are looking for, but it called out to me as I read the information. Styx is from the river one must cross to the land of the dead, and Blackmore is for the group Blackmore's Night that sings another song about a hanging tree that I find to be haunting as well.

Temper: Bardic

Personality: He deals with life and death through stories. He gathers stories of the world around him, and he uses the stories he has learned to help others cope with death. And life.

Do you Like to RP?: Love it. And you both have Rped with me, and know the range of characters and quality I can put forth.

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: Finding Friendship Shows some range, two very different Soqs of mine. My quietest and one of my most philosophical.

Plots: I'd love to see him getting to know not just his siblings and parent,s but the extended family and others. I would want him to set off on an epic quest at some point to find if not the meaning of life, but the meaning that life has for others.

Prompt Response:Prompt 1
He sat beside the small familiar, and listened carefully. He encouraged the little one to speak, telling the tales of his life. He was no passive listener, though. He listened, yes, but he participated with his listening. He encouraged and aided the speaker, drawing from him a story as one might draw forth thread from raw flax. The story was drawn on the spinning wheel of the spoken word, wound around the spindle that was Blackmore Styx. He took the life into himself in words and gestures, and knew that forever the familiar would live in him, and through him, would touch others as his life was spun into the weave of countless other stories, into the lives of others, and into the lives they brought forth. These words the familiar spoke would weave the baskets and blankets to protect foals and young of all species. When the speaking was done, he nuzzled the small familiar and assured the brave soul that death was no end at all. It was the next adventure, the next step in a long journey. Death was calm, but death was also exciting. Death was life and it was not. Death was all fears and none at all. And in death, in the dying was life. For the dead died to make room for new life. He spoke of the cycle, of the journey. He repaid the tales he was told with stories he had gathered, and so aided the familiar along, saying the words at the end, knowing that in the end, words and stories were what held the power. Life and death were in the tales, and the tales were in every life and in every death. Life. Death. Stories. No one of those three could exist alone.
The life in the familiar gone, he lay a coin upon each eyes. With him there himself, and his grandfather to return, the ferryman need not be paid, but tradition and respect aided the adding of the coins, and he'd not have left it undone, lest the spirit, brave and true, fear wandering lost forever. The body seen to, he waited for his grandfather and practiced the spinning of his newest tales.

Anything else?
Not sure what else to say. I had fun with this entry, and am glad to have been able to try my hand. Thank you.

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Ninazu or Utu

Name Meaning: God of the underworld and healing or Mesopotamian sun god, who was associated with life, justice, divination and the netherworld.

I got confused a bit in the research....I found 2 different names for the brother(the other being Utu) I knew the story and poem but not the brothers name. The first I found called the brother Ninazu and I like the sound of it but I think Utu is maybe the one you were looking for. I persoanlly like Ninazu better but if it works better for plot line and myth purposes Ill go with Utu.

Temper: Mitigative

Personality:
As a foal:
He appears to be like any young colt upon first glance, he seems cheery and happy-go-lucky and playful. Not all is quite as it seems.....As he does enjoy life, his life is heavly intertwined with death. In a sense you could say his family are the caretakers of the dead, the ferrymen of souls. As a young colt this concept isnt fully grasped but as he grows he learns the meaning and sees the honor of this duty of his lineage. He is very close with his sisters though their personalities differ, he is usually the one in the middle that makes it easy for them all to 'mesh' in a sense. Family is one of the most important things to him and as he understands more of what death is about the more he wants to enjoy life and see those around him happy. His mother in this regard is a different case, he wonders about her story and since there are few answers he is curious to try and learn what he can, but being young it isnt a serious topic for him and he doesnt stay stuck on the subject for too awfully long when he comes up with no anwers although the questions do remain in the back of his mind for him to revisit at a later date. Though a little wary of the death that surrounds them at times, he finds it fascinating what his grandfather does and is very interested in helping to ease the pain and suffering of the souls he meets.

As an adult:
He respects his family greatly and cares for them. He understands the laws of life and he understands that these laws must be followed but he believes there are some situations were its okay to bend the rules, extenuating circumstances. He still sees life as a gift and believes in living it to the fullest and death is just a completion to the cycle and to some it means peace. He loves his sisters and still tries to bring them together but their personalities differ greatly like night and day and so all he can do is try to remain neutral and supportive. He doesnt like to choose sides when it comes to them and when tragedy strikes home on top of the judging of the dead he learns to tuck his emotions away, hiding them from all even himself at times and in time he forgets how to feel and he starts to ruled by logic and reason. Its only when he looks to his mother and her incomplete story and sets out to uncover some of the pieces that his true journey for himself starts and he uncovers his emotions one by one.

In all his travels those he meets in pain and suffering he will work to alliviate their suffering and saddness as best to his abilities and in extreme cases this may even mean ending the pain they have of living. It pains him more to see endless suffering then to see death. (This is on a case by case basis, but he doesn't necessarily desire to see other die and he only makes passing as comfortable as possible...much like a hospice I guess)

Do you Like to RP?: Yes I do! But I can be super slow especially with everything that's been going on lately but I find it a good escape and really want to get back to it more but I can be slower with guild rp.

Proof of 2014 Roleplay:Here is one

Plots: Im really not good at coming up with these like this. Plots come to me in rp'ing and plotting some things out. My brain never fully wants to work right with contests...maybe its the pressure lol Ill try to get some things down though.

As a foal and later an adult he wants to help his mother find her story and maybe brushes paths with Horus first as a curious foal trying to learn about the story but being young believes whatever he is told only to realize as he grows that it was a lie or not all was told to him. He will search for Horus and maybe even have a meeting with Grauen to try and find the whole truth. Wether he suceeds or not is unknown and in this journey he rediscovers himself

In his journey I want him to meet all kinds of soquili, One that will show him friendship, one that introduces him to fear(and evil), one that gives him sorrow, one happiness. Ill will get more detailed with these plots indiviual as he develops.

I also desire family rp, a learning expierence from Father and grandfather, questions arising from Mom and probably the sisters as well.

Prompt Response:{ 3) Your sister's are in a war with each other. I---- convinced E----'s lover to help her in a fight that went horribly wrong. In the end, E's lover is dead and nothing can bring him back. E will not forgive her sister for her role in the death and so has planned to make her sister pay for killing the stallion she loved most in the world. You know that I--- was partially to blame for the death, though she did not mean for it to happen. It was an unfortunate accident at best. They are both your sisters, what do you do? Do you think that I should pay for what she's done? Do you think that E has taken this too far? Or do you let them fight it out alone? Tell us your side of the story and what side you chose.}

Life, war, death, birth....its a never ending cycle and its roots run deeper in my family then one might think. My grandfather, the caretaker and ferrymen and I his first born grandson I helped those that suffer meeting their end and I helped judge the souls that come to be ferried across but I have temporarily left, some would say Ive abbandoned my post, but I have my reasons. Amongst all the lives, amonst the fighting and wars there was none greater then one between those nearest to me, my own sisters. So different are they but at one time they held love for one another in their own ways, but now tragedy has hit our home.

My sister E's lover joined I's campaign and lost his life and now we all morn for him and we all feel my sisters pain, but she is blinded by this pain and wishes revenge on I for his death. It may be true that I had a part to play in his death but E lays on the blame on her when her love had a voice of his own, it was his own decision to go. E says that I tricked him, brainwashed him into making the choice, but she has no such power. They sought to do what was right despite what some rules might say. I myself cannot say if it was noble or the right thing to do but nonetheless it was his descion.

Ive always sought to bring my sisters together in peace but one living in death and the other dying in life it has become hard and Im pulled into their battles little by little. I refuse to side with one and betray the other. I feel their pain and I see through both their views and that is why I cannot say who is right and who is wrong. There is no winner to be had here. It is a tragedy and in tragedy there can be no winners, only losers. So I leave to search for the truth behind it all. Ill focus on my family and search for my mothers lost story and in time Ill find the answers she seeks I hope and maybe in time I can find a way to heal my sisters broken bond.

Anything else? I am a big mythology fan especially with Greek Mythology so the story and family that you have is super amazing and Im happy to just see something like them in the shop. Its a great honor to be able to try and become a part of such awesomeness and I thank you for the chance. <3

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name:
Kharon (pronounced: Charon)

Name Meaning:
“The ferryman of the dead, an underworld daimon (spirit) in the service of King Haides. He received the shades of the dead from Hermes, who gathered them from the upper world and guided them to the shores of the Akherousian mere. From there Kharon transported them in his skiff to a final resting place in Hades, the land of the dead, on the other side. The fee for his service was a single obolos coin which was placed in the mouth of a corpse at burial. Those who had not received due burial and were unable to pay his fee, would be left to wander the earthly side of the Akheron, haunting the upper world as ghosts.”

Temper:
Steady

Personality:
First and foremost, Kharon takes his role within his family very seriously. He believes himself to be the next ferryman, to take on the job when neither his father nor grandfather can do so anymore. As such, he strives to learn from them as much information as possible.

Like his temper, he is steady. He has an unwavering dedication to the craft of channeling the souls of others into the afterlife. For the correct price of course. All that he asks for is a simple confession. Not only does he believe that it’s a way for him to learn more about the souls he cares for, but to also give those who are dying a chance to let go of something that may be holding them back. Therefore he surely believes in ghosts and spirits, both good and bad. A belief in that those who pass without confession will forever be forced to walk the kawani lands as lost souls. It makes him feel quite sad as he thinks that no soquili deserves that fate. For it’s a fate far worse than deaths embrace.

Of course he isn’t without his vices. Because he is so in tune with the spirit world, he comes off as aloof and not quite there sometimes. Some could consider him slightly unhinged as he likes to talk to something that isn’t there, even though he believes to he can talk to the dead. And his way of coming across to the healthy may sometimes seem eccentric. He doesn’t understand why some soquili see death as the end. He literally cannot understand it. So when he comes across a soquili who doesn’t want his help, be it for themselves or another, Kharon can get quite defensive. Sometimes it can get to the point where he feels fear for the soul that he wishes to “save” but cannot.

In the end, Kharon has a good heart and a drive to help those who need it most. Even though some may find his way of life somewhat strange. He doesn’t really mind.

Do you Like to RP?: Very much so! Just know that I can be slow because I’m gearing up for finals and then graduation coming in June.

Proof of 2014 Roleplay:[x]

Plots:
Lessons from the deep – various rp’s between him and both his father and grandfather. They would range in lessons in dealing with death to philosophical meanings of justice and what it means to be truly free.

Momma, you are beautiful- this would be a personal quest of Kharon’s regarding his momma. He thinks the world of her and wants her to know it. These would involve various humor rp’s and serious rps where Kharon does things for Lament to either make her smile, laugh, or feel even more loved than she already is. If she’s down, Kharon will be there to pull her up again. And he will remind her constantly that even without her old memories, she is still his momma and she is beautiful.

The Feud – Misadventures of the siblings. He’d either be caught in fights between the two sisters. Or just a bystander. This would be in conjunction with Lessons from the deep. And start his journey to be the middle ground between E and I. Or at least try to.

Prompt Response: [Prompt One]

“Hush tiny one. Do not be afraid.”

Kharon softly nuzzled the tiny rabbit as it lies on the moss, labored breaths coming in and out at a rapid pace. It was scared, no doubt about that. Kharon was too. He had never done this before. But he felt the unyielding need to try and do his best.

“Do you know what the first thing I’m going to do when I die?” he asked in hushed tones to the rabbits ear, “I’m going to play in the sunflowers. A whole field of them as they’re scattered for miles and miles. It’ll be sunny and warm. Bright blue sky.”

He fell to his knees until he rested comfortably on the ground, propping up the creature like it was just sitting there with him on a normal day, having fun, chatting with an old friend.

“You know what else,” Kharon kept going, feeling the eyes of the dying soul reaching up to him, enraptured by his words, “everyone is going to be there. Momma, Papa, Grandpapa, and Grandmomma. They’re all going to be there smiling and welcoming me with open hooves. We’re all together in a place that is pure and free.”

He could feel the beating heart begin to fade, but the rabbit’s eyes never wavered from his own. But then a couple of quiet words came forward from the creature, labored and quiet.

“I’m scared.”

Kharon laid his chin lightly on the top of their head, right between their ears, “It’s okay to be scared. I am too.”

“Why?”

Kharon looked up at his grandfather who watched quietly from the treeline, “because we’re all mortal. We’re supposed to feel.”

The rabbit’s head dropped a little more, its chest heaved quicker as they tried to take in more air. But it was coming time. They were going to pass soon.

“Did you want me to pass on a message?” Kharon heard himself asking.

No response, just a weak shake of their head. Kharon caressed the rabbit softly and soothingly.

“Just close your eyes, I’ll be here when you wake up.”

And the rabbit did just that, but not before uttering one more thing.

“Thank you.”

A single tear slid down Kharon cheek. Still so young of a colt and not fully into his own. Death was still something that he was getting used to. He looked up at his grandfather and saw a soft comforting smile on his lips.

It didn’t seem so bad then.

And Kharon felt a sense of soul fulfilling accomplishment.

Anything else?
Thank you for this opportunity! I found myself really liking this character and he spoke to me pretty loudly. Hope you like it and good luck to deciding!

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Charon

Name Meaning: Charon is the ferryman of the underworld in service to Hades.

Temper: Dutiful

Personality: Charon grew up in a world caressed in death and thus has the unique situation of never fearing it. He is a quiet and observant sort, he does his best never to betray any particular feelings he has - unless it be betwixt his sisters. He doesn't like anything that disturbs the calm order that he and his family live in, it disturbs the rest of the spirits they are supposed to be calming, furthermore, it disturbs him. He seems more like his grandfather in temperament, and is rather antisocial, not used to dealing with many other "living" folk. though he has his fathers gentleness with souls.

Do you Like to RP?: I certainly do, sometimes it takes me a while but I really enjoy long in-depth story lines.

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: LINK

Plots:
I want him to deal with others who are way more emotional than he is and just have him be pushed out of his quiet comfort zone.

ALL of the plots with his bickering sisters!

I want him to have a lot of interaction with his grandfather, if he's going to be doing the family business, and named after the ferryman of death, he should know what he's getting into.

Prompt Response: 1

Charon walked silently in the great shadow of his grandfather, he had called for Charon to come with him in a rather serious tone, Charon already had some idea of what was to happen here, but surly, he had not expected it so soon. His eyes, though still resembling those of an eager foal had seen things that many so young would balk at, even be traumatized by. They walked silently through the long grass, still damp with morning dew, but even if the light graced this place, death was always about, hovering like a second shadow, and here, it laid it's chill upon yet another life. His grandfather stopped and motioned with a nod to a prone form lying broken in the grass. Charon inched forward, his ears forward and his heart beating so hard he was sure it would jump out of his chest. There he saw death, looming over the fox who yet still lived, but barely - she clung fiercely to life, not ready to give up the fight yet- even if she had been the loser, she was bleeding from a grievous wound, a mortal one.

" This is what it means to do this work young Charon" his grandfather boomed " ease this ones passing into the next life, it is my duty as surly as it will be yours one day, and you must learn." Charon saw the fear in the foxes eyes, the fear he would never understand, so used to death he was, how could he make it better? He had never had to deal with those still alive with their hearts beating frantically and their pain still blooming. He walked up to her, his little brow wrinkled "… Lady fox, you won your battle, your kits are safe, your home is secure" He whispered to her, shivering a little as the thirsty ground drank her blood as surely as water. " Sleep now, there is nothing to fear, the dark is not here to snatch you, it's here to comfort you, it is warm and kind, nothing will hurt, be calm~ there you are~" He crooned, as if in song as he sometimes did with some of the smaller souls. The fox moved her head to look at him, her brown eyes locked onto his for a second before the lids slowly closed and her body shuddered with her last breath, he felt his fur prickle with the sound, the last moments of life were more distressing than he thought…how awful. He felt a great sadness, but the fox was no longer in pain, she was free from her mortal body, her soul free to be lead to the afterlife, whatever existed beyond the great lights. He looked at his grandfather, who after a minute of silence, nodded his approval.
Life and Death were in a constant dance with one another, and Charon, though used to death, found life and all it's emotion the more frightening of the two…he had much to learn before he was ready for the job his grandfather had in mind.

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name:Diké Will go by Di (sounds like Die) (I realize it's a girl's name for a boy but it gave me a plot idea so i'm running with it)

Name Meaning: Justice More importantly... the goddess of moral justice: she ruled over human justice.

Temper: Fair

Personality: Di strives to be impartial when it comes to seeing what's right and wrong. The judgement of the deed is passed on what information is available. Some times blind judgement is passed from him but all the same he tried to give all the same chance. This rings true with his sisters. He loves them both but tries to remain the observer when it comes to their inner squabbles.

Do you Like to RP?: I've several maxed out soquili that say I do *nod nod*

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: xXx This one's nearly finished and we'll be starting a new one for those two soon.

Plots:

You're a funny looking girl- It's a plot revolving around his name as a foal. Children are terrible to one another. They find something out of the norm and tease and taunt and pick. This will be the first time anyone's ever pointed out to him that his name is a female one. How will he react? How does it end for the other foal?

Blind justice- This will be the first real judgement he has to make on another soquili. How will he handle it? and are the facts too lacing to make the best call?

I'll be able to come up with more as I play and get a better feel of the character.

Prompt Response: Prompt #1:

The bear had fought honorably to save the life of it's bonded. While the bonded soquili had survived, sadly the bear had sustained too great an injury and was loosing it's grasp on life. Sadly for this little bear, his companion he'd fought to save so strongly for hadn't quite realized yet they their little friend wasn't following behind. Perhaps they were still running. That really didn't matter at the time. As he walked side by side with his grandfather, he could hear the bear's rattling breaths. The realization was that he wasn't going to be around much longer.

With wide eyes, he stared at the familiar. Just as his grandfather was speaking, he was encouraged to speak to the bear. This was his job to do. No one but him would be able to help the creature pass into the next world. Judgement awaited and it was his turn to guide the dying. Stepping forward, he didn't glance back to his caretaker. He didn't need too, His task had been given to him and there would be no arguing over it even if he wanted to.

As the Bear drew a shaky breath, he drew his head nearer to better hear the poor fellow's last testament. "Judgement awaits that which is dying, Before you pass, I will hear of your story." He spoke the words oddly detached. It wasn't that he had no feelings. To him.. this was his own first trial of his lot in life. How he did hear could determine much for him. Some how.. he could feel that much.

"The kalona attacked in a fury.. We ran at first and when things looked most dire, I stayed to stall. The mare that kept me was gentle and kind. To not take such a gamble surely meant her doom. In this, I have no remorse." The bear's words choked short with a spasm and rattling sputter of coughs. Blood was filling it's lungs, drowning it. Hearing the deed, a self sacrifice, Di could tell the bear felt pride in his last efforts.

"Your deed was good, great in the eyes of the spirits. A gentle passing you will not have, but know what awaits you in the other world will be a goodness equal to that which you have shown. Close your eyes, the fight is over, relax and let the mortal dream take hold, and pass from this life, unto the next." His tone had been compassionate, gentle as he spoke. The bear's eyes drifted closed, and after one more rattling breath escaped, the body stilled, it's chest sinking from lack of breath. It was strange to him.. how a body looked when it supported life. Freshly passed on and the form of the dead bear seemed so.. dull.. devoid of anything that reminded him of life. Sure it's colors were still there.. but some how.. they seemed to have dulled all the same.

Anything else?
Thank you for the opportunity to enter into such an interesting family. Also, Good luck other entries.

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Thanatos

Name Meaning: Greek: Θάνατος, Thánatos, "Death,” from θνῄσκω - thnēskō, "to die, be dying"
Temper: Somber

Personality: Thanatos is a soft spoken, level headed stallion who does not excite easily; whether he is elated or upset. He has an eye for quality and desires only the very best life has to offer, anything second rate just simply will not do for this stallion. He is quick to size up others based on their physical appearance and the way they carry themselves. If you do not meet his standards, he will likely not pursue further conversation with you until you prove yourself worthy of his time in his eyes. The path that has been offered him in life has helped him become a very capable leader and organizer. Thanatos does not respond well to being in a subordinate position, especially if he finds the leading soquili to be subpar and unworthy of his respect. He has a difficult time expressing or tolerating spontaneous and sensitive behaviors, and will likely avoid or become very rigid in situations that provoke these emotions.

Do you Like to RP?: I love to Plot and RP

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: [x]

Plots:*@_@ I’m missing a couple of connections in this family, so before I start kicking out plots I would like to get some questions answered, which will probably have to take place after the basket contest XD(If I’m chosen)*

– Prompt 3: Pretty sure this is happening because your fillies’ personalities are kind of planned around this. Under ordinary circumstances Thanatos would chalk this up to siblings squabbling and leave it be. Seeing that I’s life might very well be on the line, Thanatos would step in and point that E’s lover had every opportunity to turn down the venture. That for a family that deals in death she should expect that one day she would be faced with this ultimatum; that he would die. E should embrace his memory and be grateful for the time they had. If the squabble continued he would add that she should be grateful that he was given the opportunity to prove his strength and ability on the battlefield, and not left to waste away, sickly and pale in wait for deaths embrace. Assuming E hadn’t stormed off, disowning both Thanatos and I, he would keep himself between the two and make sure no physical harm was done.

– I would like to have an RP of Thanatos and Horus. Thanatos tries to get information about his mother’s past and Horus uses it to try and manipulate him. Thanatos gets strung along, knowing full well he is being used, and then when he is fed up with the lies he informs Horus how he feels about him and that when he is on his deathbed, Thanatos will be there.

– Despite his mother’s (assumed) hesitation, Thanatos pesters her about how she met Háidēs and then came to know Westrion. What he is secretly asking without being rude is what it was like being inches from death. As a foal Thanatos finds near death experience fascinating and wishes to better understand what one goes through. (Though due to her memory loss she probably won’t be able to tell much, and it will most likely be a touchy subject?)

Prompt Response:
Quote:
1) Death is a part of everyone's story, just not as much as it is perhaps yours. You are the child of Lament and Westrion, and because of that you have a unique relationship with the death, the caretaker is your grandfather. He is a ferryman between life and death; eventually you are expected to fulfill this role in some way. Because of this your grandfather takes you with him as a foal to a familiar, a sentient being that has died honorably. He leaves it to you, to talk with them as
they die and say the words as they pass into the other world. Please describe how your attempt goes:

Thanatos peered over his shoulder to see his grandfather looking on as he approached the fading creature. His approach was unnerving to the young wolf, its futile attempts to rouse its broken from were met with weak whimpers with each exhaled breath. Dropping to his knees at its side, Thanatos lowered himself to the earth, “Sleep well little one…” He breathed softly. He stared into its wide golden eyes, “release unto me your burdens; your grief.” He whuffled a breath through the creatures’ blood soaked fur. The wolf’s tension fell, breath slowed to a wheeze.

Thanatos felt a tension in his chest, an ache in his heart. It hurt to see any creature like this, but it brought him peace knowing he would not pass on alone, afraid. Thanatos would remain at the wolfs side until his transition to be free in Elysian Fields.

The time was near, its paws twitched, ears flicked, eyes wide with fear. “Shh shhh…” Thanatos pressed his nose to the wolfs head, which was burning from the transition, “Be light in your travels ahead.” He uttered as the wolf’s final breath left his lungs, his form fell still, and Thanatos laid beside him a moment longer.

“It is done.” He confirmed to his grandfather looming behind him. Rising to his hooves he took his place at his grandfather’s side, “Will you tell me of the lands of Elysia someday?”

He looked up to his grandfather, eyes so full of wondering, mind full of questions. Someday he would find all the answers. One day he too would run through the golden grass of Elysian Fields.

Anything else?Thanatos is the daemon personification of death. He has a twin, Hypnos, who is the daemon personification of sleep. At some point I would like to custom him >3

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Utu

Name Meaning: Name of the Sumerian God of the sun, meaning “Sun”

Temper: Genuine

Personality: Utu is a seeker of truth, meaning that he seeks answers and is sometimes called to act upon the answers he finds. This may come in the form of embarking on a quest in order to combat ignorance or to conquer some form of evil, ergo his relationship with justice. He is a free spirited individual who is able to travel where he pleases, ask what he wants, and learn what he wishes. He answers to no one and generally when he speaks others take what he is saying as fact, because it would be foolish to doubt a seeker of truth. He is an honest individual and it would not only unravel his sanity if he were to lie, but unravel his entire sense of self. Similarly, he will not answer a question if he is uncertain of the answer for that is akin to lying and that is something that he just cannot tolerate, also he would be ashamed if he mislead anyone. (This is why he is kind of bad at helping others leave this world, as he cannot guarantee there will be a next.)

His ability to discern the truth is heightened by his ability to see through deceit and trickery, though there are those who are immune to this talent. Some have spent so much time inhabiting the realm of dishonesty that it is almost as though they have constructed a shield against him, as though their lies could somehow be truths, or their truths lies. These cases greatly confuse as well as frustrate Utu and he remains skeptical of these individuals, never fully able to trust them regardless of their character. Though professional liars are not the only ones who are capable of deceiving him; sometimes when another is at the height of a strong emotion it will throw him off as well.

Of course, as with many things, there is a catch to his obsession with the truth in that it either makes him a beloved stallion or a hated one. There are those who harbor truths they wish to keep from the light of day and it is quite easy to make vicious enemies of these types of soquili. As such Utu may find himself in deeply dangerous situations, unable to restrain himself from seeking answers, or unable to escape. When dealing in matters of the truth, there will always be those who see truth as their ultimate adversary.

Though making enemies is not the only sort of danger that the truth attracts, for it also has a nasty way of turning on a seeker if it so chooses. Just as his mother was devastated to learn the truth of her history, and his father devastated by her tale as well, the truth is capable of becoming violent or overpowering. There are some things better left unknown, but as described above, Utu is incapable of letting such things rest. As such he runs the risk of learning more than he bargained for at some point in his life, a hazard he is well aware of but willfully turns a blind eye to. One of his shortcomings is that his pursuit of the truth is unrelenting and if he cannot find it he becomes greatly agitated or disturbed.

Utu is also the type of stallion who will aid those who are in need without hesitation. It again ties in with his relationship to justice and his desire to help others. He is not a hero per say because he does not do it for the glory or the immortality of having a name cemented in the path of history, but because he is compelled to uphold truth and therefore justice. Like the sun for which he was named, he seeks to illuminate the darkness and to spread warmth and light.

Proof of 2014 Roleplay:
Knightly Gestures
The Big Game Hunt

Plots:
Obviously there will be plenty of family rp with the parents, grandparents and especially the siblings. Those plots I will leave unformed until I am able to discuss it with the owners to see where they wanted to plots to go, as well as to add my own input.

Eradicating Ignorance & Fighting Evil:
This will likely become a series of plots in which he must act upon the answers he finds in some fashion, as it is his duty to do so. Basically these plots will take him on quests, show his abilities and allow him to do what he loves the most, find the truth.

The Truth Eludes Me: The truth of his mother’s tale has been presented to the family and it has caused a great disturbance within their group. On one hand is the simple matter of the content of his mother’s tale, and the other being that she may not be the only one whose life is written in a book. In this plot I think it would be interesting for Utu to seek out Horus and attempt to find the truth, the actual truth. He knows the stallion’s reputation and character but feels it necessary to try, hopeful that his ability to sense lies will help him. This will obviously fail, and he will not get the truth he desperately sought. When this occurs he will go insane for a short while. It will eat away at him and constantly haunt him. Eventually he will snap out of it and decide he must explore a different avenue in order to find the truth, though this avenue may lead him further down the rabbit hole or cause him future struggles. This plot will mainly be between Lament and himself as he would be searching on her behalf or possibly even with her. (Insanity seems to play an important and ever-present role in this family. He is kind of CRAZY when it comes to the truth…Don’t really know how else to describe it.)

The Unavoidable Fate: Utu will somehow find out that he and his siblings are part of a tale within the book Horus guards. He will have spent much of his time seeking the truth of the matter in the hopes that he and his sisters are exempt from this, but when he learns of it he will be greatly distraught. It will raise many questions about his life/identity and the events that unfolded between I---- and E----. This can also tie in with the earlier notion of the truth not always being a good thing. It will be able to somewhat damage his relationship with the truth in a way. (This will become more elaborate of course, just presenting the bare bones of the idea.)

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy:
After learning of the fact that his life is contained within a book Utu will do all that he can to avoid following the path of the characters. He will try and prevent the story from coming to fruition, but in so doing he will actually be falling exactly in to the role he was meant to play from the very start. (Unsure if this would work or not seeing as it would all depend on when the siblings learn of their story, but I thought it would be somewhat interesting to play up.)

Unwelcomed Answers: There are those who ask Utu questions in the hopes that he will provide them with the truth. In some cases the truth sets them free or unburdens them in some way, but in this situation I would like for the truth to be something horrid. Something that severely wounds the other. Again, the truth is not always good, and he will begin to wonder if being a seeker of truth is a gift or a curse.

Prayer to the Sun God:
Just as in the tale of Gilgamesh in his journey into the Cedar Forest in which he encounters the fearsome guardian Humbaba, someone will need his help upon their quest for glory/immortality/whatever. He will come to their aid and provide them with what they need in order to defeat their adversary. (Obviously they won’t pray to him and he isn’t actually a Sun God. This will be expanded as well but I thought living one of the other myths Utu is featured in may make for a fun plot.)

Prompt Response: Your sisters are in a war with each other. I---- convinced E----'s lover to help her in a fight that went horribly wrong. In the end, E's lover is dead and nothing can bring him back. E will not forgive her sister for her role in the death and so has planned to make her sister pay for killing the stallion she loved most in the world. You know that I--- was partially to blame for the death, though she did not mean for it to happen. It was an unfortunate accident at best. They are both your sisters, what do you do? Do you think that I should pay for what she's done? Do you think that E has taken this too far? Or do you let them fight it out alone? Tell us your side of the story and what side you chose.

A scream filled with enough sorrow and anguish to split the world in twain pierced the air with such force it had Utu stumbling backwards. Tearing his eyes from the stallion begging for mercy before him he tore off in the direction of the cry. His innards grew tight and twisted within his gut, acting as an omen of bad things to come as he ran ever faster toward the source of the nightmarish sound. Intuition told him that he would not like what he was about to find and as he broke through a grove of white, skeletal trees he knew it to be true.

E---- lay sobbing atop the bloodied corpse of her beloved as I---- stared on in horror, both of them shedding enough tears to fill a large lake. Utu slowed to a walk as shock massaged its way throughout his entire system and he came to a stop a length away from the tragic scene. He did not know how E---- had come to be here, nor how she knew how to find her beloved but that hardly mattered now.

The entire world seemed to slow and become heavy with the agony of a broken heart as he moved to gently place his nose upon E----‘s back, but before he could even attempt to comfort her she lifted her head and fixed a lethal stare upon her sister. “You,” she hissed maliciously, “you did this to him! This is your fault!” She shouted, the whites of her eyes showing from grief and madness.

I---- recoiled as though she had been stung in the chest by a poisonous dart and she struggled to speak through words laden with tears. “No…E-----….I…I’m so sorry…It was never meant to happen this way.” Taking a step forward it was evident she thought to console her sister, but she was soon forced to retreat when E---- leapt to her feet and assumed a threatening pose. “Why couldn’t you find someone else’s happily ever after to destroy?! Have I done you such wrong that you felt the need to manipulate and ultimately kill the only one I have ever loved?!”

He stood by, unable to say or do anything as the fall of his sisters began. His eyes remained fixed upon the corpse E---- hovered protectively over as she spoke and he felt a pang of deep regret. He had volunteered his service to his sister but he had been unaware of E-----‘s lover’s role in all of this. He didn’t know how he had come to join the fray, or what I---- had done to get him there, but it was clear he didn’t have enough information to interrupt or even attempt to get involved.

“No…It wasn’t…E---- you know I wouldn’t..” Her words were abruptly cut off as E---- started in once again at her. “Quiet! I don’t want to hear your lies or excuses!” With that E---- turned her back upon her sister and rested her nose tenderly upon the cheek of her fallen lover. I----- stood where she was in an obvious daze until her eyes eventually found his. “You know I didn’t do this Utu, I wouldn’t have done anything to hurt her…You know I am being truthful! You know it!”

His sisters had known of his ability since they were very young and they had encouraged him to use it on multiple occasions, some for fun and some for more serious matters. Normally it wasn’t that big of a deal, but as he stared into his sister’s eyes glistening with tears he could see no honesty. He had never been deceived by one of his sisters, but things appeared to be different now. Half of him believed with every fiber of his being that I---- was incapable of doing something so horrid, but his ability told her that she was being deceptive. Lowering his eyes he wandered dejectedly over to his broken sister as she mourned the loss of her love. He did not look up to see I----‘s reaction or say anything to her as he helped his sister to her feet and prodded her to leave this place. “E-----, I will get father and grandfather to perform the rites. We must leave though; this is not a good place for you.” After some struggling he finally managed to wrestle her away from the scene, leaving I----- behind to guard the corpse until the funeral rites could be performed.

****

“A life has been taken and therefore it must be repaid with a life in turn…” E---- muttered repeatedly as he led her to the place she felt most comfortable. His sister was very law minded but he was still concerned that she may do something rash under the circumstances. “Beloved sister, please, get some rest. We will deal with this problem in the morning for you have had a trying day and are in need of sleep.” She had never looked worse in her entire life than she did at this very moment. Her eyes were puffy and red from her grief, her hair was matted and disheveled and all of her former light had diminished. “I’ll not rest.” She hissed. “I’ll not rest until justice has been sought.”

She remained silent for quite some time, staring off into space as she became lost in thought. He watched her every move, thoughts of I----‘s deception still nagging at him. Why would she have done such a terrible thing? What did she gain from it? She had never sought the destruction of her sister before, why now?

He leapt to his feet as E----- slowly stood and turned to look at him, a calm expression upon her countenance. “I want to speak to I-----. This needs to be sorted out Utu, and the law must be followed.” She was hard to read in this moment but, feeling that his sister knew what she was doing and knew how to handle a situation such as this he nodded. “What can I do?” She stared off in the direction in which they had come, seemingly looking to see if she would find I----- standing there. “Please bring her here for me. Tell her I want to see her, tell her to come here.”

****

There was a brutal exchange of words, tears that nearly flooded the cavern they were inhabiting, and a cry of tormented agony he would never forget. How had it come to this? What had he done? His entire body quivered as he stared down at I----‘s motionless form as it lay splayed upon the ground. Never in his wildest dreams did he think that E---- would have actually harmed their sister. He thought they would yell, scream, cry and eventually get to the heart of the matter. That E---- would exact what the law required, but that she would keep the fact that I---- was her sister always in the back of her mind whilst doing so. “No….” He whimpered.

E-----‘s expression reflected his own as she lowered herself to the ground and gently stroked I-----‘s cheek. All of this was wrong…Every bit of it. How had he allowed something like this to happen? Why hadn’t he stepped in and done something to prevent this from happening. Spinning about he took to the air and flew as swiftly as he could toward his home. He was relieved to see his mother, father and grandfather there as he touched back down to the earth. Running up to them he fell at their feet, quiet sobs wracking his entire being.

“I have done such wrong!” He shouted, to the shock of everyone standing there. “What have I done? Why?” The truth had failed him yet again, and he fell into one of his episodes. Feeling no comfort as his mother nuzzled him and attempted to pry further information from him. “I------ and E----.” He began hoarsely.

Anything else? I definitely don't pretend to know how the plot goes, but I thought this would be a fun way to present his character. Obviously I---- isn't really dead haha, but I thought it would be cool if he thought she was. Again, this was just a good way for me to show his character in a story setting, so this isn't something I would hold to if I were to win him unless the other owners thought it would make for a good plot. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Thánatos

Name Meaning: it is the greek word for death, as well as the name of a greek mythology figure.

Temper: precarious

Personality:

Thánatos will be one little colt that plenty will have a hard time placing into categories and forming confident opinions on. His moral code and standards are hard to gauge, with his rather unpredictable nature. Perhaps you thought he'd take your side on a matter, and he doesn't, or maybe you'll assume him to be mad from a mistake you made, but he isn't... More times than not, this colt will be hard to put a hoof on when it comes to determining how one feels about him.

There really doesn't seem to be any sort of rhyme, or reason, or pattern to follow when it comes to him. While intelligent, and intellectual, Thánatos likes to take each situation as a case by case sort of deal. Not every issue is the same, and shouldn't be treated as such. This can make things complicated when it comes to figuring out what sort of alignment he takes closer to. While he is not one to betray once securing loyalty's, that doesn't mean he will be biased... most of the time. In fact, Thánatos takes pride in being unbiased at least 70% of the time, however... there come times where he allows his own personal opinion on a person take effect, should the moment fancy him. It is in these moments that a hint of spitefulness and immaturity can shine through, overlooking justice on occasion.

Like his father he is charismatic, and was blessed with quite the silver tongue. He imitates the same sort of mannerisms, and articulation that a gentleman should possess, yet holding a bit of a twist to it with his nonchalant bold remarks, or spreads gobs of sarcasm laid on thickly or sprinkled with a thin veil. Some might claim him to be rude with how brutally honest he is, and straight forward, but the light of heart always amuse him with such immaturity and lack of humbleness. { and in most cases the inability to find fault in themselves! or face it! }Thánatos enjoys an entertaining game of words, and weaving a picture and path that leaves his opponents caught up in their own string. Straddling the line between serious, and playful, he can easily tip onto either side should a situation require it, or encourage him. This makes for it easy for him to see both sides to a situation, especially when it comes to his sisters and their completely opposite personality's.

Taking after his grandfather, Thánatos has an immense fascination with death, and the dead. Almost an obsession, if you will. He greatly looks forward to taking on the family trade, and absorbs as much information about it as he can, often shadowing his father or grandfather to learn their ways. As such, he has a natural respect for the both of them, and looks up to them as role models on the subject. It isn't uncommon to find him investigating dying creatures, and living beings of all sorts, as well as finding intrigue in already decaying carcasses of various kinds. Thánatos will even have conversations with them, as though they are excellent pals and have been for years! The entire process, ritual, and cycle is so exciting to him that he is unable to even fear his own demise should it stand right before him.

Do you Like to RP?: I love RP. it's the only reason I come onto Gaia~

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: Proof. { already discussed with Nyx Queen of Darkness, and have been given the ok to do this~ blacked out the other persons name to give them privacy. <3 }

Plots: Of course there are~ alas, I do not plan for what is not set in stone, nor even in my control, especially with development lacking rp wise. I'm also the type who just likes to "wing it" when it comes to rp, having no sort of plan what so ever, and seeing where things go.
However I have a few basic idea's in mind;

- I would love for him to meet his grandfather. I think he's a fasinating sounding character, and the colt would adore being around him and creating a strong relationship with him.

- I'd love for him to challenge other foals when it comes to "word games" if you will, and sort of creep them out, if you will, with his rather obscure ideals and views.

- Thánatos would love to find a little friend who has the same respect for death as he does. Though it might be a long shot, still would really thrill him.

- More will come with RP development~

Prompt Response:{ Prompt 3 }

The squabbles and bickering were constant with these two, relentless, and over even the most minuscule of things. Most might find it annoying, and truly Thánatos could not fault them for that, but by now it was quite normal for him that it didn't even make the stallion bat an eye. However, this quarrel was more intense than the others, so it seemed...

The fall of his darling sister E's beloved was a great tragedy for the young mare, and brought forth the raw emotions of hurt that many would express when grieving over the decease of a loved one. Yet said emotions were given blame in the name of their mutual kinsman, I. Thánatos had not involved himself in the battle I needed assistance with, for he was not called upon, and thus he would not force himself into a predicament where he was not desired in. Yet with the change of events, he'd almost wished he had, if it could keep the hatred that would fester from it afterwards, at bay.
He watched for the beginnings of the new development for sometime, observing, gathering the two sides and their shouting words that fell onto deaf ears, essentially just the both females screaming at walls to try and prove their point and innocence; neither would budge. It was fruitless, and pointless, and the influence of emotions were going to manipulate logical and rational outcomes and decisions, that much was obvious.

When E spoke of revenge, that is when Thánatos keyed into the debate more intensely. While he was able to see both sides clear as day, understanding their views yet not siding with them, the sensation of a 'calm before the storm' weighed heavily in the atmosphere now, causing him to proceed in intervening and attempting to bring sanity to the chaos... as entertaining as it might have been. Going down the path that was being set out could only lead to an even more grave conclusion, to which he was not too fond of seeing, or enduring. A family split would surely upset those older in the lineage, their parents especially. And so, his time was now to step in and give dissolving or at least sedating the topic, a try.

"My darling sisters, of such different sides, and souls~" he began, voice smooth and confident as it always was, but humbled and lyrical. "While your pointless bickering is apart of the relationship you two choose to share with one another, I find this particular war shall not be one with a pleasant ending for either sides." an endearing sort of gaze fell upon E, the strong, stalwart mare someone he held great respect for, and the unwavering justice that she expressed so thoroughly, "Your beloved has come and gone in your life, now, yet on his own accord. Our dear I was not responsible for his demise, as he is the one who was either not strong enough, or witty enough to avoid falling in the field of battle. He offered himself for her cause, and that was his own decision that he could have easily declined. Yet, he did not~ And our precious sister did not force, nor have control over his choice. Surely you would not blame the river for the drowning of someone who cannot swim strong enough to cross it, hm?" a glance was given to I, with a faint smile residing on his stretched lips. "I is not heartless, and I am certain she is feeling the guilt rack at her like the claws of a skinwalker tearing into her very flesh~" he chuckled lightly, in the not so light of conversation, keeping a light air to his speech.

"Yes, I could have approached one of us to engage in her battle, or she could have left others out of it, and fought on her own to reach her own ending in this world.. but she did not, and there is nothing we can do with the choices she has decided to make. They are done. And while the pain is burning and exposed, how could you truly justify an equal revenge for his death without taking our sisters life as well?" a sharpness flickered over his gaze as it ever so slowly shifted back to E, watching her rather intently, "but then where shall that leave you in the end? loverless, and sisterless. Is that truly a life you desire? will that truly make up for the accident that occurred? is that truly justice? Well, I suppose so. But would you be able to live with it, and would our family be able to live with you, knowing of what you've done?" he decided to push her, challenger her thinking in a way, to try and bring forth light to how the cycle would not end with her exacting retribution that she sought fit.

"What kind of life is that to live? without a family, with the blood of your sister on your hooves... hm. Doesn't seem too enjoyable, to me." he gave pause, closing his eyes, nostrils flaring faintly to inhale the scents that whisked past them on the curves of the wind. "accidents are unintentional phenomenon's. While one may have involvement, and partial influence in them, they lack complete control on their outcome, and thus should not be held in full account, whether good or bad. Like most things in life, battles are a gamble, and even in the most surest of engagements, the unimaginable can happen with a simple drop of a pebble. Your lover knew the possible turn out that could happen, and he joined anyway. He was well aware of the consequences that could befall him. To punish our sister for his choices... well that would be rather unjust, I would say."

A tender touch was given to E, with his soft nose, in a gentle expression of comfort, "For now, mourn him, and give the respect he deserves by thanking him for being in your life. Cherish the gift he's brought to you of happiness, in this living world, and allow him the opportunity to travel peacefully, knowing his death was not in vain, and knowing that you can find happiness again. This choice, is yours~"

Anything else? thank you kindly for the opportunity~

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which

No Traveler Returns.

Name: Asushunamir

Name Meaning: From ancient Babylonian myth, Asushunamir was an ancient spirit-guide who brought resurrection, by rescuing the Queen of Heaven from eternal death. Blessed with prophecy and wisdom and healing, yet exiled from hir people, Asushunamir is the original spirit-guide, trickster, and bearer of transformation -- s/he travels to our dark dwelling places, stands at the crossroads and accompanies us on the journey home.

In an ancient Babylonian myth, Asushunamir was both male and female, created from the dirt under the fingernails of Ea, the Wise. Asushunamir travels to the the Land of No Return and steals the Water of Life from Ereshkigal, Queen of the Dead, in order to rescue Ishtar, Queen of Heaven -- whose return to the living marks spring and the return of life to the world. Asushunamir was subsequently cursed by Ereshkigal (to be stranger in your own home) and blessed by Ishtar (with prophecy, wisdom, healing).

Temper: Guide

Personality: While his siblings occupy opposite ends on the spectrum of life Asu has come to realize that nothing in life is quite so black and white. While he too, knows the words and the laws...Asu also recognizes that there can be extenuating circumstances which lead to unfortunate results and this does not necessarily mean that one should be punished. Then again..one should not live life like an enternal party with no responsabilities either. Once should at least strive to uphold the laws as best they can. Asu is a moderate, living within the middle ground he attempts to be the balence between his siblings, attemptimng to sooth ruffled feathers or appease one or the other and repair the slights inflicted on one another. All to often he is quite saddened when his efforts prove fruitless and is further burdened with the perceptive knowledge that the path his family is taking will not end well.

Asu is a healer, having taken intrest in the skills since foalhood and studying them in a most determined fashion and maturity that generally far outweighs his age. Asu is what one might call an 'old soul' often seeming more perceptive and wise then his age ought to imply. Even in matters of love his wisdom extends past the conventional beliefs as he realizes that love is not something so easily caged. You will love who you love and that is merely the way it shall be. His stance on Moderacy however will often put him at odds with members of his family and Asu knows that this too..will likely not end well for him..or anyone else for that matter.

Do you Like to RP?: Of course!

Proof of 2014 Roleplay:

Plots: I generally prefer plots grow organically through RP

BUT..some ideas I'd like to explore!
- Healing RP's - Training, showing intrest..helping others etc
- Mediator RP's - Most likely between his siblings, perhaps he is
trying to smooth over an argument or help them get along somehow
- Individual RPs with each sibling..and his parents,grandparents...extended family etc
- I would love to be a part of the plot you guys have thought up for the sisters and use that to shape Asu's potential future, his life beyond the disaster as it were.

Prompt Response: 2

Within the mezzo of this world
Is the place where I've been hurled
A lonely fate between these two
To try and help but watch them stew
The rising temper comes to boil
And all my attempts were useless toil
A family broken
The law was spoken

But was it worth the pain?
Hurt and heartbreak dropped like rain
Does one terrible slight
Deserve to spread the blight?
It is hard to see the end
In this current downward trend
And yet my heart says to try
Until I too do die.

Anything else?

Sounds like a really fun plot!

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Utu

Name Meaning: Utu is the god of the sun, justice, application of law, and the lord of truth

Temper: Loyal

Personality: Utu tries to be the balance between his sisters. The glue that holds his family together so to speak. While he might not be as harsh as his sister E---- he isn't quite as carefree as his sister I--- either. He believes that people make choices in life, both good and bad. While he doesn't necessarily think doing 20 good deeds erases one bad one, he does take it into consideration. If someone is truly sorry for something that they have done, and they have taken steps to amend the situation, he can be much more forgiving than his sister E---.

He believes that people can change and that everyone makes mistakes. It's how they try to fix their mistakes that really matters to him and the whole of their life that concerns him. Not just the bad bits or the good bits.

Do you Like to RP?: You know I do!

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: [Link]

Plots:
Of broken wings and Death - As a young colt, Utu will lose a beloved 'pet'. This 'pet' will likely be a small bird. He would find it as a hatchling, abandoned with a broken wing. Knowing that it won't survive on it's own, Utu will attempt to nurse it back to health. For a short time he will succeed and have time to bond with the bird. Eventually, however, the bird will pass on and Utu will have to learn how to deal with the loss.

This will be the point in his life where he will become much more aware of death and how it can effect someone. The loss will be a terrible one for him, but it will help him to move on as well. Utu will learn that death is necessary and that all creatures die in time.

Conflicted - I would like for him to meet a soquili who has done something terrible in their past and feels that there is no hope for the future. Utu has to try and convince them that they still have something left to live for and they won't be condemned for their one deed if they work towards being a better individual as a whole.

Seed of Doubt - As a foal, Utu believes as his sister E- does. That each soul must pay for each and every action. Good and Bad. I would like for him to meet a soquili who has done something wrong in the past but who has made up for it ten fold. This soquili would cause Utu to rethink his views.

OR

I would like for Utu himself to have made the mistake. He then realizes that not everything is quite so black and white.
Not so Black and White - After Utu has grown and changed his views, I would like for him to have a sort of debate with his sister E-. It would be interesting to see what comes of this seeing as they have nearly opposite views.

Stories - After hearing the tale of his mother, Utu searches for the truth in it. It is something that has caused a disruption in his family and he wants to fix it. He understands that his father wants to make sure his mother is happy and with who she needs to be. However, he also realizes that even if the story about his mother is indeed true, his parents are meant to be together. Utu will do what he can to prove this to them and to help keep the family together as best as he can.

Betrayed - I would like for Utu to be betrayed by someone close to him. This could be either a best friend or perhaps a mare that he has grown to love. The pain of the loss and betrayal will help shape him into the stallion he needs to be.

Love - Eventually, I would like for Utu to find his own soulmate. After his initial heartbreak (assuming the betrayal involves a mare), Utu would have a harder time trusting others. This mare will need to teach him that not everyone is untrustworthy and that he can love and be loved in return.

Prompt Response:{3}
Utu's family had been through much in the past. This however, might be the worst that they had yet to face.

Utu felt torn as he looked from one sister to the other. The rift that had formed between the two of them since the death of E's lover had continued to grow. The thought of what the two once were and what they were now saddened him. They had brought him before them today and faced him with a decision.

He must pick a side. E had made that abundantly clear enough aright. But why must he chose? They were a family and families were supposed to stick together no matter what happened. They weren't supposed to go about holding grudges or plotting deaths.

The stallion looked his sisters over with sad eyes. Long ago he had felt the sharp stab of loss and betrayel. He knew it couldn't even compare to what E must be feeling now, but he could sympathize with her. Did he think her methods were too extreme? Certainly, but it didn't mean that her pain wasn't justified. It was certainly understandable that E- was upset with I-. Even Utu himself had to admit that the death of E-'s lover was indirectly I's fault. Yet in the end, the stallion had made his own choice. I- hadn't forced him to do anything, she had only asked. Though in asking she had betrayed a sort of trust in E- and ultimately some bond between the two had been broken.

His gaze shifted and he then looked to I-. She had always been the more enjoyable of the too, even if she was too carefree for his liking. There had always been a sense of Naivety to her that he had fallen for as a foal but had since learned wasn't quite true. Though she seemed as if she might not have a care in the world, Utu knew his sister had a sharp mind and knew more than she would let on. How she had come to get herself tangled up in this mess, well he supposed that was her business. No matter the reasoning, or the outcome, he knew she had wished no ill on E- or her love and had never meant for any of this to happen. Thus, Utu could not see any need for death as his sister E- appeared to.

The longer Utu pondered the situation, the more agitated he was. He was angry with his sisters. Angry with I- for getting E-'s love involved. Angry with E- for wanting to harm I-. Angry with the both of them for making him pick a side. But above all, he was angry with himself for not being able to patch up their little family.

He knew that he could not help E-. No matter what I- did, she was his sister and he could allow no one to harm her. He would have left them to their own devices, but he could already see the outcome and it wasn't a pleasant one. There was only one option left to him.

"I pick my family."

Anything else?
Thank you very much for the opportunity! I had fun with this character and enjoyed writing it out. I tend to come up with more plot ideas as I roleplay and such, but I did list out a few that I could come up with for now. Hope you have fun judging the entries. ^.^

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Thánatos,

Name Meaning: In Greek mythlogy Thánatos, is a daemon personification of death. He is a son of Nyx (Night) and Erebos (Darkness) and twin of Hypnos (Sleep). He’s often personified as a young male with wings.
Temper: tactician
listen
Personality: Thánatos as the only brother feels responsible for the happiness of his sisters. His mind fears that the disagreements between his sisters will reach a boiling point and bring about the ruin of his family. Besides the fear for his sisters safety Thánatos fears little else. He’s brave with a quick strategic mind that he uses expertly. He would rather outthink an opponent than physically fight. Thánatos feels burdened by his sisters at times and longs for the days he can spend away from his family enjoying the heat of the sun. He longs for freedom from reasonability but feels much of his time should be spent protecting the order on the underworld.

Do you Like to RP?: yes I do I rp here and have done loads of rp in TLN

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: 1,2

Plots: siblings plots: I would like to have him have interactions with both siblings. I see him as a foal trying to referee arguments between his sisters. As a adult however he sees his sisters disagreements as extremely dangerous and fears the family being hurt in the crossfire’s of his sisters battle.
Mother secrets- It would be interesting to a rp between him and Lament as a foal. He would try to uncover his mothers secret past and search the underworld for any information regarding his mother.

Lost- Thánatos would accidentally make his way out of the underworld and away from his family. He would discover both the wonders and dangers of the soq world.

Teacher- A rp in which Thánatos would meet his grandfather for the first time. He would be in awe of him and a bit scarred of his famous relative.

Prompt Response:
“I am a puppet in your game. I seek freedom from my present existence but you would tear my wings off and leave me crippled so you could grow stronger. I love my sisters but the path you’re heading towards will lead your destruction and our family’s heartache. “-Thánatos

Thánatos let out a sigh of relief as he made out his grandfathers retreating figure. Being in the presence of his family was wearing him down and he longed to escape from family expectations. Thánatos felt he was walking at the edge of a cliff and one mistake and he would hurtle down to his end. Most of his weariness came from the rivalry and dissension between his two sisters. They were so different and yet so alike that they could not understand or admire each other for the traits that made each of them strong. Thánatos often felt like he was the peacekeeper of the family but the hatred in both of his sister’s hearts was growing and the path of bloodshed was already in place. Thánatos just hoped he could save both his sisters from the madness they seemed to posses and cool their rage enough that when the climax of his sister’s battle erupted he would still possess both his sisters.

His mind brought to him horrible future scenarios. His imagination came up with colorful images of both his sister bloody and broken. His mother would lose her lucidity and his father would become solemn and heartbroken. Thánatos could see the futures twisted path he shuttered with chills down his back. To him the underworld wasn’t nearly as scary as his future.
Those in Elysium had little worldly cares. Once heroes or Scholars the citizens Elysium could watch all of eternity pass them by.

Thánatos gazed at the spirit his grandfather had brought him to speak to. The spirits image wavered between a skeletal form and insubstantial grey mist. The spirit could not yet speak because no offerings had yet been given. Thánatos with sharp teeth bit down on the meaty part of his lip. His rich scarlet blood ran down his chin before falling down in front of the shade. Slowly the spirit gained a more substantial form and its features melted to the spirits image before death.

“Hello young Prince of the underworld. It was about time your grandfather brought you here to learn our secrets. However today we must first look into your heart. “ The spirit spoke in a scratchy voice . He came close to Thánatos and looked deep into his grey eyes.

“When I look into your heart I see one who should have been strong but now lays broken. You must mend the rips in your heart or others will take advantage of your weakness. You cannot save everybody if you attempt to do so you will become a broken doll useless to all.” The shade said almost in a cruel manner.

Thánatos felt like he was in a state of shock. His inner self worth was unraveling and he was learning to taste the harsh bite of reality. His grandfather had brought him to this spirit who once must have been a wise sage. He needed to acknowledge the truth that his grandfather had brought him here to learn. He needed to step back and let the fates take charge of both his sister decisions. Thánatos could not be responsible for his sisters actions the desire to protect his sisters from themselves only weakened him. He would grow stronger than them both and when the battle erupted he would protect the underworld from his sisters conflict.
Anything else?
I love the story both of you are creating. I’m a European History Major and Greek mythology has always really interested me. I was really glad to have the chance to be able to rp the Greek myths into a soq rp.

My Wish Is To Enter To The Land From Which No Traveler Returns.

Name: Utu
Name Meaning: It is the Sumerian God of Judgment and Truth.
Temper: Observant

Personality: Utu is much like his sister in that he has a strong sense of justice and truth however unlike her he believes that every creature has a story that should be heard and judged within reason. He believes that the good in one’s lifetime can outweigh the bad if one truly wishes to repent from the wrongs in their past and that everyone should be judge so. Words are barely spoken from his lips, he is much more of the silent type, listening to what others have to say and the words they speak. He prefers only to speak when necessary and will only speak the truth. Honesty is the best policy and not even a white lie is acceptable to be told to Utu. Ones concerns on feelings should not matter as long as the truth is spoken.

Do you Like to RP?: Yes!

Proof of 2014 Roleplay: Rp

Plots:
I would like for Utu to play some role in the sister's dispute. I would like him to listen to both sides of his sister's stories and to judge each one accordingly. I am not entirely sure exactly what the plan is other than a husband being murdered but I would really love for Utu to be a part in it all even if merely giving his feelings and or concerns on the matter.

I would also like for Utu to play a role with Haides and being the one to hear the stories of the dead and to in some way judge them. It would be great to have various stories even some who would try to lie to him make themselves sound as if they were more innocent then what they were as living. Utu believes in truth no bribery or even begging would sway his judgment and he would feel the need to condemn those who would try to cheat their ways into a better afterlife.

As a foal I would like Utu to meet a mare or even stallion that was vain and tell them the mere truth even if it was something like how something made them ugly or about how they should seek to be good in the lives versus living in vanity. They can in return become bitter or even violent towards him causing him to be in some way rather disappointed in how some would choose to spend their lives.

A friend or even just an acquaintance of Utu perishes and meets him. The friend would beg or even demand for his life to be spared but Utu will refuse. Even tho this may be a simple task it would be a little sad to lose someone close versus complete stranger.

I am always open to more plots as well!

Prompt Response:
He lead him deep within the brush, the scent of death lingered in the air as Utu trailed silently behind his grandfather. His eyes ever watching the movement of the forest as they had continued on with their own lives. They reached a small clearing, one where the sun managed to escape from the fingers of the trees and small flowers had started to emerge from the cold earth. He could smell it, he could smell the scent of death mingling with the soft fragrance of sweetness. A figure of a hare stood alone his body translucent enough that Utu could see the tree line behind him.

Haides spoke no words but nodded to the colt and to the soul before disappearing into the tree line. Stepping forward Utu stared at the hare unsure if any sort of apologetic nature would have played any use. What words did someone use when looking at those that were no longer part of the living the world?

“I am dead aren’t I?” He replied his eyes slowly looking around, searching for some sign to prove that he was merely dreaming of his fate. The body was a few yards away, obscured by the small bushes that lined the edge of the forest.

“Yes.” Utu spoke his voice definite but still full of compassion of the fate that had befallen the hare’s honorable death.

“I see…. Will you… will you listen to what I have to say? I mean before I go… well I mean I know I have to go that is why you are, but please may I at least speak a few words about my life?” The hare replied his ears laying back as one of his front paw rubbed it twin in some sort of comfort motion.
He could feel the eyes of the hare watching him, almost to the brink that if the hare could he would have wept deeply for anyone to share his last few moments. “I will listen to all you will say, sir hare,” Utu replied giving a slow nod of his head, “all will be listened to all shall be judge.”

“I was protecting her….. she always needed me and I watched over her for years. I was her guide and her caretaker since the day she had emerged from my sister’s den. Elaine…. She… was the only one who had lived and I cared for her. My life…” The hare replied sitting down on his hind legs his eyes looking to the ground as he continued to speak, “I was a handful of a hare, I did whatever I wanted, didn’t matter if it was right or wrong or what the consequences were. But she… I took her in and cared for her, and every since I held her I wanted to make everything right. I saved her, I mean.. I think I saved her from the snake I told her to run as the fangs sank… I want her to be ok.” As the hare finished his body started to waver, the feet and the end of his ears began to fade.

Utu looked at him his face never changing as he spoke softly, “all will be well. You have done well and those that you have done in the past will be out judged by the good. ”

“Let her be ok… that was all I ever wanted” He whispered his voice fading away as Utu watched his eyes never leaving the spot where the hare stood.

Anything else? THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS! AND
An old Irish song
Death and the Lady
As I walked out one morn in May
The birds did sing and the lambs did play,
The birds did sing and the lambs did play;
I met an old man,
I met an old man by the way.

His head was bald, his beard was grey,
His coat was of a myrtle shade,
I asked him what strange countryman,
Or what strange place,
Or what strange place he did belong.

“My name is Death, cannot you see?
Lords, dukes and ladies bow down to me.
And you are one of those branches three,
And you fair maid,
And you fair maid must come with me.”

“I'll give you gold and jewels rare,
I'll give you costly robes to wear,
I'll give you all my wealth in store,
If you'll let me live,
If you'll let me live a few years more.”

“Fair lady, lay your robes aside,
No longer glory in your pride.
And now, sweet maid, make no delay,
Your time is come,
Your time is come and you must away.”

And not long after this fair maid died;
“Write on my tomb,” the lady cried,
“Here lies a poor distressed maid,
Whom Death now lately,
Whom Death now lately hath betrayed.”

It was not an easy decision to chose who would win, so we decided to do something a bit more...unconventional.

After reading through all the entries, one entry stuck out in it’s uniqueness. It was bold, and it was one of few that chose a side. It should good mastery of lore and mythos for their prompt. It was long, and it was well-written.

For our judging we threw aside the names and instead focused on temper, personality, and RP to guide us. We chose this one entry, and then proceeded to bring in an non-biased judge who frankly doesn’t know any of you.

The judge chose the same entry.

So without further ado:

Our winner is:

XBlind-DarknessX

But that’s not all.

As we are the sole owners of Lament and Westrion, both of who are maxed, we would like to extend to JetAlmeara, the promise of a basket of her choice, from our next breeding of Lament and Westrion. As in, she gets first pick.
JetAlmeara

Furthermore, we’d like to extend to Angelique DelaMort the option to custom in a child of Lament and Westrion. We will grant our permissions for throwbacks etc. This is on the understanding that this child will be born from a different batch of baskets than these first three (2nd breeding, 3rd breeding, single birth, whatever.). You may contact us about changing up your form etc and possibly even gender if you so choose. We’ll settle the details with you <3

Angelique DelaMort

Thanks for making this contest amazing, and making Nyx not be scared to do another in the future <3
