.: The Tapestry - Mteuli :. Roleplay
Ary Keeyara (( Sure, Tam. <3 )) Mteuli loped along through the rogue lands with an easy and smooth pace. He had gone rather far from the jungle again and away from his pride. It was apparent he had choosen to disregard Mteule's scoldings again. But such things should be expected from Mteuli, for it was his nature. It was a good thing he wasn't in charge of the pride until the heiress grew.
Seeing a rather large rock in perfect view of the sun, he moved over to it and slipped onto its surface. Rolling over he lay there feeling the warmth soak through his fur. Ah, he never got tired of this! Sunbathing, after all, was rather hard to do in the jungle with its dense trees and strong humidity.
Tamiko-chan The newly grown adolescent Aysha padded along easily, the warmth of the sun welcomed by the darker parts of her smooth pelt. It was a nice day, and she didn't hesitate to enjoy it.
Despite having almost no friends and even less food, except for a few lucky catches here and there, this female was in a good mood. Yet it wasn't like she was ever one to get down about things. The only time she had ever really been 'sad' about anything was when Chomo told her there was no such thing as paradise.
Well, that memory was long gone and forgotten, and Aysha had since moved on. Which was probably for the better, being as she wouldn't have liked that particular memory to haunt her forever.
Lost in her thoughts, the female walked noisely past where Mteuli was resting on a rock. Of course, she didn't notice his scent or anything, her attention fully focused on this one thing that was troubling her inside of her head.
"Whaaa..."(( Aysha: o.o *stolen!* ))
Ary Keeyara Mteuli's ears twitched as someone walked right past his rock rather obviously. He blinked his green eyes and let out a groan as he rolled over. Oh, it looked like he would have to get up. Stretching out his front legs he shook out his fur and looked in the direction the sound had drifted off to. Walking along not far away was a young lionness. She seemed rather distracted if she couldn't spot the young male lying on the rock. He didn't exactly blend in, after all.
Jumping down from the stone in one smooth motion he made his way over to meet her. Socializing, after all, was what he did best, "Hello there, Miss."
Tamiko-chan Aysha still didn't notice the other lion behind her, even when his paws made an audible thud on the ground from his landing. She did notice him, however, when he spoke out to her. Being a simple lioness, she couldn't think and hear someone talk at the same time.
And so, not having expected anyone to randomly come up to her and say hello, the adolescent jumped slightly as she looked over towards Mteuli with wide eyes. Seeing he wasn't any real threat to her at the moment, Asyha cried out:
"Whoa, you really scared me there!"
Then she gave a warm smile, finding it always better to have a positive attitude when meeting someone new. "I hope I wasn't trespassing or anything...?" If she had stumbled upon someone's lands, she would obviously apologize. This female wasn't one to go barging onto someone else's territory.
Ary Keeyara "I'm sorry, it was terribly rude of me," Mteuli appoligized with ease at her comment of scaring her, though she didn't seem upset out it. A smooth smile formed upon his maw, his green eyes seeming rather soft and cunning at the same time, but in no way did his nature suggest that harm would be brought to her.
As to her last comment, "Well, if you are, I am too, for these are not my lands," he told her with a small chuckle.
Tamiko-chan Aysha continued to smile warmly and kindly at the male. It wasn't every day she met someone new, and so this was quite exciting for her. And it didn't exactly help that she was normally hyper and bubbly.
"Oh, well, that's a relief!" she said in response to Mteuli's saying that it wasn't his territory. She hadn't seen any other lions about, so she figured that these lands weren't taken yet. So, feeling relaxed and content, the female sat down then slowly rolled onto her side. It was obvious she felt no threat from this one.
"My name's Aysha," she said smoothly, rolling onto her back so that her belly might warm up a bit. "What's your name?" Curious, as always.
Ary Keeyara "Well it's very nice to meet you, my dear Aysha," He said with a charming smile as he took a seat at her side. Mteuli hadn't met anyone knew since he had seen those two females a few days ago and had been chewed out by Mteule for it. Imagine his luck to get to meet another pretty femme and have no brother around, "I am called Mteuli."
Tamiko-chan Aysha sighed in a contented way as the male sat beside her. Some other females might have taken some sort of alarm with this action, but not her! She seemed happy to have any sorts of company, and seemed to have almost no sense of her own personal space.
"Mtueli.." she repeated, toying with the name silently and out loud a bit. "It's different, I like it." Then she squirmed a little, attempting to scratch an itch that claimed the middle of her back.
And in the process she accidentally knocked the male. Immediately she stopped and rolled onto her stomach. There was a frown on her pretty face and her ears were held slightly back. "I'm so sorry!"
Ary Keeyara (( Well Cotton had all that, strangely. O.o; )) "Thank you, your name is very lovely as well," Mteuli replied with a nod, his smile never fading. He watched her squirm about, but didn't expect to be knocked about. However, he far from minded as he caught himself from falling. He couldn't help but feel warmed by her reaction toward what she had done. It was rather adorable, after all, "No, no it's fine, do not worry."
Tamiko-chan Idiot! she scolded herself inwardly after she had nearly knocked the male over. Aysha felt really horrible, despite Mteuli's assurances that he didn't really mind.
"Gosh, I'm so clumsy!" she muttered, rolling back onto her side and attempting to remain still so that she wouldn't bump him again. How was she supposed to go about making friends if she only bumped into them and made them nearly fall over?
"I'm still really sorry... I think the heat of the sun was irritating my coat."
Ary Keeyara "It is alright, my dear, I did not mind, truly," Mteuli asured her again as she rolled over. Ah, what a sensative soul! It was rather sweet and refreshing to deal with and he was rather enjoying the meeting. As she told him of her irratated coat he did someone he would have done with any lion, even another male, though it probably would not have been as enjoyable for him. He moved out his paw and rubbed it along her back in hopes of relieving her ich, "Is that any better?"
Tamiko-chan Aysha was rather surprised when she felt the male's paw along her back, and she jumped slightly. But the soothing feeling that came from him rubbing her back like that soon calmed her and allowed her to continue smiling warmly at him.
"Yes, much better, thank you." Then she stretched out and scooted forward a little in hopes that he would continue to rub her back and maybe get at another itch that had randomly appeared.
Which was what sucked about itches... whenever you got one, another popped up.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli paused as she jumped at his touch and waited. When she seemed to settle down and grow comfortable with the idea he went back to the smooth rubbing. He knew he wished he'd gret rubs when he was itchy...he wouldn't depribe her of such a thing when he was. Besides, it wasn't like he wasn't enjoying himself, "You're very welcome."

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :. Roleplay
Andrani ((Sure, I can start whee And sorry that took a moment to reply to, was cleaning gonk )) What sunlight filtered in through the dust and mist of the Elephant Graveyard glimmered off the white patches and silver hair(And one silver ear) of a young juvenile. Stretching, he rose up to his paws, the life of a Graveyarder evident in his lean body. It was the life he was used to, that of a Graveyarder. Padding outside of the borders of the Yard and the grasslands, his ears flicked about as green orbs scanned the grass. He was looking for his sister that, in his own mind, he saw as a sort of twin. They weren't twins, of course, but he still thought of her like that. Stretching again, he found a pawprint belonging to their father and placed his one white paw into it, smiling at the idea that some day, he'd be that big. Well, maybe... Even as the older brother, he was smaller than Runai. He rather wondered why sometimes.
Ary Keeyara Nkechi was laying out in the grasses upon her back. The warmth of the sun soaked into her belly fur and was a huge comfort. She was still a little shaken from her first meeting with a hyena not long ago, but at least now she seemed to know what to expect. Even if she was a little older then she had been asa cub she was still a frightened lionness when it came to certain things. Distracted by her small pleasure, she didn't notice her brother coming along through the grasses to find her.
Andrani Green orbs glimmered with delight as the young male spied the white belly of his sister. Moving into a trot, he was soon running, ready for the tackle. Trying to shake his silver mane out his face, though, he soon found himself stumbling over his own paws before he tumbled right by Nkechi.
Ary Keeyara Nkechi's emerald orbs snapped open as a squeek escaped her maw in surprise. She jumped to her feet as something crashed into her and found herself falling again head first. She tumbled through the grass and landed with an "oomff!" on her back. Ouch! That had hurt!
Andrani The piebald cub let out a slight whine, struggling to untagle himself. Alas, it was hard to do because his sister had landed on him. Struggling more, he whined out "Nkeeechiiii, get ooooff meee!"
Ary Keeyara Nkechi had covered her eyes with her paws, expecting that she had been attacked by a monster of some sort. Instead she heard the whine of a familiar voice, that of her brother. Opening her eyes and moving her paws she glanced down. Oh, she was on top of him! Her ears flattened and she quickly rolled off, "S-Sorry!" She was relieved though. It wasn't a monster.
Andrani Sitting up, Toshi frowned at his sister. "Even you're bigger than me..." A pout came to his face, then vanished as quickly as it came. "Watcha doin' out here?"
Ary Keeyara Nkechi shook out her fur and promptly sat upon her rump. She blinked at her brother and then looked toward the sky, "I came out to watch the clouds...it's so warm out there too! I like sitting in the sun...and sometimes the clouds look like things! It's fun." Or, it was to her. She had never been one to find much enjoyment in the graveyard for some reason.
Andrani The male juvenile tilted his head, looking up. "They do...?" Watching them, he tried to see what the clouds could make. "Hey, that one looks like the giant pointy rock in the distance!" He pointed his darker paw up at a cloud, eyes dancing a bit.
Ary Keeyara Nkechi giggled pleasently. It was a rare moment that she laughed so easily, since she was normally rather scared or careful about something going on. It was a sweet, ringing sound. She saw the same cloud he did and nodded "Yeah...and look! That one looks like a butterfly!" She pointed to another cloud not far away from the first one.
Andrani His ears twitched forward, watching the cloud. "Wow, it does... And there's a bunny!" He motioned at a cloud near the butterfly, giggling as the two clouds melded together to form a bunny with butterfly wings.
Ary Keeyara "It's a Butterfly bunny!" Nkechi giggled and she flopped over in the grass, rolling onto her back as she laughed. She seemed to be greatly enjoying herself. She didn't know her brother would like looking at clouds too! She was glad he did.
Andrani Toshiro flopped over, laughing at the idea of the bunny butterfly. "A butter-bunny!" He rolled over, staring at the sky and absorbing the warm sunlight into his dark fur. It actually felt kind of nice out here, really. Not as cool-feeling as the Graveyard, but still nice.
Ary Keeyara "A butterny!" Nkechi added, smiling widely. Oh, wouldn't it be funny to see something like that in real life? This never worked out like that though. She glanced back at the sky, trying to see what else was up there. "Mm...I see...a flower!" She waved her paw to the right where there was a cloud looking a little like the flowers that bloomed her at the edges of the graveyard.
Andrani The male looked over, then grinned. "It's blooming over home! Think it means something?" Perhaps it did. After all, one would think life wouldn't survive in the Graveyard, yet not only did hyenas survive, but a pride of lions, as well. It was certainly one of the grand things in life, that was for sure!
Ary Keeyara "Maybe it means the graveyard will get green and pretty?" Nkechi said hopefully. Nah, that was possible. Poor thing really wished it wash though. The dark shadows and cool dirt under her paws was unnerving and she never seemed to be able to get used to it, even if she did live there.
Andrani The younger cub seemed to think about it, tilting his head back. "Maybe it's signifying the life that manages to prosper in such a desolate place..." For a cub not all there at times, he sure was full of big thoughts.
Ary Keeyara Nkechi's ears drooped, "Guess that means no flowers." She sided and rolled over onto her belly, her tail curling around her paws. She had liked her idea better...it was prettier!(( Sorry. O.o; Had an unexpected friend come over. ))
Andrani ((It's okay, Ary 3nodding )) Rolling over, Toshiro sat up. "Aw, don't feel bad! One day, I'm not gonna be in the Graveyard. I wanna get out and see the world a bit, and then I'm gonna come home." He nodded, then smiled. "Did you wanna come with me? I wanted to see where Chomo's from. I heard it's a place that's all sandy and bright and hot... Deffinetly not the Graveyard!"
Ary Keeyara Nkechi's ears perked and she smiled, "Really? I'd love to go! Someone told me there was a place where the was lots of grass and some trees and water and lots of food...it sounded wonderful! I'd love to see it..." she told him exictedly though was quick to add, "And Chomo's place too." She had never really thought about leaving the graveyard because she had been too scared to go out by herself...but she'd love to go with her brother.
Andrani ((-Flops back in- Monsters killed me and I got annoyed with them xd ; -Plops on BFD- If you missed it, the RP from a couple days ago is in the guild now... surprised If you wanted to continue it, anyway whee )) Toshi nodded, ears flopping just a bit. "Of course! And I've been to that place! With all the grass and water and trees... There was a pretty red lion who lived there, not sure if he's still there, though..." He looked towards Pride Rock waaaaaaaaay off in the distance. "I wonder what kinda lions live there..."
Ary Keeyara "Really, you've been there?" Nkechi asked in awe. She hadn't known her brother had gone off so far! Wow, he sure was brave! Instead of seeming envious it seemed she wanted to know exactly what it was like, "Oh...tell me about it! Pleease."
Andrani Sitting up all proud-like, Toshi grinned. "It's all green, and there's BIG rocks to sit on, and there's LOTS of water in the water holes!" Then he sighed. "I didn't go in very far, though." Shifting, he sat up on his haunches. "But when we're older, maybe when my mane's grown in more... We can go visit, and then go look around at other places, too!"
Ary Keeyara Nkechi smiled softly, rolling over onto he feet. She walked over and sat down right beside her brother, her tail flicking lightly to the side, "I'd really like that." Then she wouldn't have to try and go out on her own! She felt excited just thinking about it.
Andrani "Then it's set! When we get bigger, we're goin' on an ADVENTURE!" The piebald juvenile raised up his paws in cheer, looking quite comical to any birds flitting overhead.
Ary Keeyara Nkechi laughed, "Yeah! We should ask Daddy too, maybe he'll want to come!" That was typical of the young lionness, who was very attatched to her father for some reason.
Andrani Falling over, Toshiro laughed as well, watching his sister. "Yeah!" He'd have suggested one of their other sisters or brother, but somehow... He felt just a little closer to Nkechi than the others. Masika seemed too wrapped up in looking like the princess she was to the middle cub, Rune he got the feeling wasn't fond of him, and Jwahir... Who knew where she was hiding... Which left Nkechi.
Ary Keeyara To be honest for a long time Nkechi hadn't been sure what to think of Toshiro. When she was little she had been a little distressed by him, but it obviously hadn't lasted for long. She wasn't one to be able to hold such impressions for very long, for they just weren't nice! Besides, none of her other siblings bothered to come see her when she wandered out here...so that was a good mark in her book. She settled down upon the ground, pressing her white belly to the warm surface, "Now I can't wait until we're older!"
Andrani Laying down near by, the other cub wiggled a bit. "Neither can I! We should visit the pretty red lion to see if he's still there... I think he was gonna go somewhere himself... And he's much older, so it'd be good to travel with him!" Toshiro's tail curled happily at the thought, the silver end gleaming in the sunlight.
Ary Keeyara "The pretty red lion? What was his name?" Nkechi asked. She found it strange that her brother just called him by his coat hue. Or maybe he had never learned his name. Either way, she'd be happy to meet them! If her brother liked them, then they couldn't be scary like monsters, right?
Andrani Toshi thought a moment, then nodded. "His name was I think Uumi... But I just like calling him the pretty red lion."
Ary Keeyara "Oh...well Uumi's a pretty name too...so...he's the pretty red lion Uumi?" Nkechi said thoughtfully as she tilted her head to the side. It did seem like a mouthful to say at once, though. She wondered, for no real reason at all, if her name was difficult to say as well. Maybe it was...but then she didn't say her own name much.

.: The Tapestry - Adanna :. Roleplay
Ary Keeyara A young lionness rolled over in the tall grasses, her eyes shut tightly even though it was the middle of the afternoon. Mmm...it was so warm, but she had to press her face to the ground to block out the sunlight. She lay there with her head under her paws for a while before she grew tired of the crusty air and rolled over again. And the light problem was back. Dang, it sure was hard to sleep in at this time of the day.
With a groan Adanna opened her eyes and shifted onto her belly. Time to get up. Upon standing and looking around groggily, however, she found that Nukta wasn't there. She frowned in irratation. She supposed he had gone off to get a drink or something, but geeze! Leaving her out here alone like that? She snorted and began to lope forward searching for him.
Archnasa Rustling around in the tall grass, not far from the lioness, was that perky, always-getting-in-trouble cub, Bakari. The youngster was currently chasing a small black and blue butterfly, each time leaping up to catch it, and each time falling to the ground.
The butterfly landed on Adanna's head, and Bakari, mistaking it for a very fuzzy rock, leapt through the grass, and crashing into the lioness. The butterfly took this opportunity to flit off through the grass.
Ary Keeyara Ada had NOT been expecting anyone to come up and jump on her. She saw the butterfly land on her nose and shook her head slightly, trying to get the little creature off. Instead, she found herself being jumped upon by a small ball of fur! She let out a surprised yelp and tumbled over backwards from the impact.(( Ada: >O NUKTA! You're going to let me get tackled like that?! ))
Archnasa (XD! Bakari: >3 *blows a raspberry*)
Bakari tumbled off the lioness' surprised head, before sitting up and shaking some dust off his head. The pale blue eyes stared up at Ary, before he gave a loud squeal of fear. Drat, what would his father do at a time like this?!
The cub thought back a bit, remembering his father snarling angrily at his uncle. Bakari narrowed his eyes, and tried to look angry. He let out a little growl, which turned into a slurred purr.
(Gah. I'm giving you all an eyesore with my bright text. gonk I'm sorry. )
Tahja Estes Nukta approached from the direction Adanna had wandered, having been much slower to rise than she. He was feeling groggy and stuck in the haze of sleep, and it showed in his movements which were stocky, lazy, and very slow.
Adanna was up before him and off on her own, not very surprising, and not enough to alarm Nukta like it might've in older days. The young adult let loose a jaw splitting yawn as he approached where she was in the midst of play. He also noted the speck on the horizon approaching at an equally slow pace. This other figure was that of Matifu, though Nukta wouldn't know that.
"Do I need to start calling you clutz from now on, Ada?" Yes, he'd observed her little tumble, didn't see the cause yet, though.
Ary Keeyara "Calling me a clutz?! You fudge tard! I got frick'n attacked by a little whirl of fur!" Adanna sputtered as she struggled onto her paws. Some pieces of loose grass was stuck in her fur, a few looking rather comical on top of her head. Her grimance might have been more intimidating if it hadn't been for how the rest of her looked.
She glared at the little cub in irratation, "What in the world do you think you were doing kid? Geeze, I'm not a butterfly nor a rock or anything else you should be jumping on!"
Archnasa (*sits up* Sorry. XD; *was doing sumfin*)
Bakari's ears perked up in confusion, before he smiled. He had no clue what she was rambling on about. He giggled at the grass sticking out of her fur, before he rolled onto his back, and started pawing at it playfully.
The cub continued this, before trotting over to Adanna and nuzzling her. "Mama!" he decided, snuggling up to the irritated lioness.
Tahja Estes Nukta's eyes went HUGE, not at the name calling and yelling, oh he was USED to that!! Did that little cub just call Adanna MOTHER?!
"AHAHAHAH!"
He suddenly staggered where he stood, eyes shut as untamed laughter spewed forth. Nukta fell over to his side and wrapped his paws around and to his chest, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Ha ha!! Y-you? His mother?! He must've hit his head on something!"
He was absolutely roaring (not literally) and rolling (literally) with laughter. He had to crack an eye open to see Adanna's reaction to THAT!!
Meanwhile, Matifu finally caught up to the band of three, and seeing his nephew confirmed his suspicion. Were his parents anywhere about?
"Bakari!" He called ahead softly in greeting, slowing to a pause before the laughing youth and the younger two. "What are you doing so far from home?" Well, far in Matifu's opinon, anyhow. "Your mother will worry, you know?"
Ary Keeyara Adanna's eyes widened, her mouth falling open. Snapping out of her utter surprise she pushed the little cub away, stumbling backward and tripping over her own feet. Her words were jumpled, muddled, and a lot louder then they had to be, "What...I...you....I AM NOT YOUR MOTHER!" She ended up running right into Nukta in her scrample, falling on top of him. Yeah, that's what he got for laughing so hard.
Archnasa The cub smiled innocently as he watched Adanna tripped. These two were certainly amusing enough. >D
Hearing his name called, Bakari turned to Matifu, and a great big grin spread across his face. "BROTHER FATHER!" he squealed, and stumbled over to the creamy lion. The poor cub didn't know how to say uncle, but 'brother father' seemed close enough, right? He snuggled up against Matifu happily, before watching Adanna squashing Nukta, who was still howling with laughter.
Tahja Estes Nukta's eyes widened, he was getting a lot better view of her reaction than he'd expected, and the near adolescent grunted as impact was made, unable to get away-- "NMFFPH!! ADANNAGETTOFF!! You're not a cub anymore you little brat!" >O!!
". . ." Was all Matifu had to say in response to the other two, followed by a warm chuckle at his nephew's greeting. He lifted one of his large paws to hug the golden pelted cub gently against the leg he'd choosen to greet. "He's barely old enough to speak, you'll have to bear with him." He smiled, leaning down and running his tongue over the top of Bakari's head in more of a formal hello. Brother Father, it was just too cute. He'd give it to him, he was also smart for coming up with such a makeshift term for Uncle.
Ary Keeyara "It's your own falt for laying there and just laughing you a**! >O" Adanna yelled back at him, refusing to get off to prove her point. Loser had just sat there and watched her deal with the strange little fluff ball! Well now he was getting it!
She shifted her her gaze to Matifu, struggling to stay on her best friend, "Does he not know who is mother is or something? Cause I sure ain't it."
Archnasa The cub gave a giggle at the two lions fooling around... get your mind outta the gutter! D:<
Bakari hugged his uncle back with those short legs of his. His paws barely met as they wrapped around a leg of Matifu. The cub gave a light squeak as a large pink tongue licked his head. He looked up at his uncle happily, before stumbling back over to Nukta. "Brother?" he asked curiously. His little tail swayed from side to side as he watched Nukta struggle to get out from Adanna's butt. XD; Once again, the cub was using his words for new meanings. He was trying to ask Nukta if he was a friend or not. XD;
Tahja Estes "GetyourfurrybuttOFFOFMEADAORISWEARYOU'LLBESORRY!!!"
Nukta was blushing furiously under his black pelt, olive green eyes relfecting his frustration. As he was approached by the little cub, he made a face. If he thought Adanna was his mother, and Nukta was his brother, then that made Adanna Nukta's mother?! No way! "No! Not brother, Nukta!"
"Friend, Bakari." Matifu corrected gently, watching the learning infant experiment with words. "These two are friends."
Nukta's pelt caught Matifu's intrest. His markings so closely resembled Mteule's back in the jungle, he deemed it entirely possible that Nukta was a decendent of the Mbingu and had no idea of it. He looked old enough to be second generation to those that had abandoned the pride.
Archnasa The little cub's eyes welled up with tears. Nukta didn't want to be friends? Then, he heard the word he had been thinking about. He turned to Matifu, sniffling and whimpering. "F-freend?" he said slowly, before turning to Nukta again. "F-f-freend?"
By now, little tears were rolling down the soft, golden cheeks of the male cub. Aaw, poor little guy wanted to be friends with Nukta so badly!
Ary Keeyara Adanna refused to move. She didn't seem as uncomfortable with the situation as Nukta did. But then, she had grown up with brothers, so she had done these types of things all the time. "What are you going to do, Nukta? Bite me?" She stuck out her tongue at him.
As she saw the little cub ask Nukta to be his friend she couldn't help but grin, "Aww, it's ok, Kid, Nukta'll be your friend..." She gave Nukta a look, "Or I'll bite him myself." She really was strange.
Tahja Estes "Ah! Hey! No, don't cry!"
Adanna's interjection caused Nukta to shoot her a dirty look. She was in for it later, that much was for sure. Embarassed, and showing it with his eyes, and lashing tail, Nukta averted his gaze back towards Bakari but not quite.
"I'll... be your friend. Just call me Nukta. Nuke-tah."
"It's alright, Bakari." Matifu smiled, then looked to the female to avoid similar confusion. "What's your name, Ada?"
Archnasa Bakari smiled, and sniffled, before tackling Nukta's head and nuzzling it. "NUKTA!" he squealed happily, before looking up at Adanna. "Nukta!"
The cub ran around the two happily, before stumbling back to Matifu with a hurt look. His stomach was making strange little noises. The cub gave a whiny noise, as if saying 'Feed me!'.
Ary Keeyara Adanna frowned at the little cub, correcting him and answering the older male's question, "No, I'm Adanna. Add-ann-uh!" Yeah, she didn't need this kid calling her by her friend's name. And she feared no wrath from the male beneather her, for what would he do? Nothing.
As for the cubs needing look, "Uh...Nukta, I think he wants something." She grinned, enjoying herself far too much.
Tahja Estes Nukta snickered briefly as Adanna was called after him, but the humor faded when she pointed out the obvious.
"Why are you telling me? I don't know what he needs!"
Matifu could only guess two things, either the little one missed his parents, or he was hungry. He gazed down at the cub before lowering to eye level with him.
"What's the matter, Bakari? You miss your mother?"
Archnasa Bakari whined louder, and finally leapt over to Adanna. He pointed at her tummy anxiously, and whined even louder. The cub was getting hungrier by the minute!
He flopped onto the ground, his stomach gurgling longer each time. He looked up at Matifu, whimpering loudly. "MOTHER!" he finally yelled.
Ary Keeyara Adanna tumbled of Nukta as the cub prodded at her stomach, trying to get away. "What the crap are you pointing at?" She grumbled at him, skuttling behind the black and white lion. She failed to remember anything about her mother and since she had been the only girl she knew nothing about what mothers did or anything, so she was just a little weirded out by the cubs behavior.

.: The Tapestry - Mteuli :. Roleplay
Syrius Lionwing ((hehe okies can I see a piccu??)) Kikawaida's tail twitched lightly, the dark tip, though it probably wouldbn't be recognised at a simple glance, was covered in mud. her back legs to her hainches were also caked in the brown greeny residue. She had made a mistake. She had never fallen in to the swamps mire before. She had passed far away from her usual haunting grounds, the edge of the swamp land territries in easy view. To observe the slender femme would perhaps, at first glance, make the observer deem her as insane. She spoke to herself, discussing her days catastrophie, the word, spirits, came up often as they spoke, seh seemed, rather than upset, to be thanking them for letting her escape. Her mind had been wandering. The spirits were wrestless, or so she felt any way, it seemed things were going to change, very soon infact.
Flumping in to the brittle low laying grass she sighed heavily her gentle pink coloured eyes the only thing that rerally made her stand out amongst the boggy colours of the swamp lands. The spirits spoke of change, but she liked ehr life, change for the better they said, that was fine, but she had long been happy to perform her duties to them. She was the 'ghost' of the swamps, scareing those whom tresspassed, whom weren't welcomed by the spirits. Not it seemed, things were about to change, for the better they said. She wondered, what was going to happen, time would tell she supposed. Laying quietly, she turned her gaze to the sky, watching white clouds whiz along the horizon. "what could they possibly mean by changes?"
Ary Keeyara (( =o What kind of fur edits are those Dusty? @Syrius - Mteuli, one of the seer twins. )) Ugg, the swamp. Mteuli wrinkled his nose as she walked along on the wet, slippery banks of the mire. It was horribly wet here and the insects were everywhere. The water made him a little uneasy, for it was very merky and thick, unlike the water he found in the jungle where he lived. Well, he had never felt more greatful for his home then the did now, for this place seemed terrible!
The smooth talking lion made his way around the dark pools, slipping on the wet grasses and reeds as she went. He found it hard to search for anything out here, let alone other lions, while he was manuvering through all this tricky terrain. So, distracted as he was, he didn't notice the strange, mud covered lionness near by.
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida's gentle gaze rested upon the younger male as he walked precariously through the swamps. She too had been destracted but the sound of his breath had made her ears twitch and her eyes turn to watch him "hello" she whispered, her voice a sort of eerie echo such a strange sound was it to be heard in the swamp. Noone lived heer after all, noone living any way. "come here, there is solid ground" Why was she asking for another lion to approach her? She had never felt the need nor the wont to have another lion around, she was happy to be alone, frightening others. Something pulled at ehr heart strings though, the poor lion looked exhausted. He had obviously been traveling for a while, the marsh, the swamp, the bogs, they were hard to navigate unless you knew them well. She knew them wella nd still made mistakes.
"I'm not a ghost and I won't hurt you" she whispers again her tail flickering gently behind her. How strange for her to wish for company after all this time alone. She had an excuse of course, she didn't want to see another lion drown in the dark pools, she had seen that happen in her child hood, she didn't fancy ever watching it happen again.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli's ears twitched and he glanced up to see Kikawaida. To find someone living way out here was rather strange, but it was nice all the same. At least his efforts out here hadn't been fruitless! "Hello...ah...solid ground? Uh, yes, thank you." Due to fatigue his voice was a little off, but not noticablely so, unless you were Mteule. He jumped carefully over a small space of water and moved onto the dry land on which the female stood.
As he reached her, he heard her ghost comment, and smiled smoothly, "Ah, of course you aren't! Such beauty does not reside in ghosts. Besides, I should be on rather familiar terms with spirits and the like." The water trickling down his fur tickled and he had the strong desire to shake out his fur. However, he was one to be very aware of his manners, and such a thing was very rude when meeting someone, "I'm Mteuli...and who might you be?"
Syrius Lionwing The slender femme lay for a long moment simply looking at the male before her. Was she to be flattered by his comment? She was unsure, she really wasn't schooled in the ways of other lions " I am kikawaida, you should shake out your fur and come and lie here, the ground is warm which is why I am sitting here. I had an accident with the mud" she laughs softly, though it was quiet an unusual, quiet laughter which was really quite short. She perhaps had never laughed before and certainly ot before another lion, at least not since she was much younger. Showing the young male her legs and tail she smiles rather sheepishly. I'm afraid I was destracted, the spirits are wrestless at the moment, they speak of great changes, I'm a little confused by them, but they say they are good so I will hold my judgement." she stopped suddenly, had she spoken too much? She had'nt spoken to another lion in such a long time, was she supposed to tell them of the spirits? her ears flickered a bit, there was no retort from the spirits she so often conversed with so she assumed it was okay. A silence fell over her again though afraid she had spoken too quickly of the spirits.
Ary Keeyara "Yes, of course," he responded simply to her recommendations, moving to the edge of their dry piece of land and shaking out his fur sharply. He then turned and loped casually over to where she lay, taking a seat at her side. His fur was a little matted and dirty, but then, that was what he got for walking around in the swamp like this. "Well, I'm sure accidents in the mud happen often around here. After all, there is quite a lot of it," he chuckled good-naturedly.
When she spoke of the spirits his ears perked with mild interest. Some lions might be uneasy with that form of converstaion, but he was not. It was almost part of his line of work. He nodded, smiling slightly, "Well, if they say it is good then it must be. Spirits can be confusing sometimes...they often don't explain what they mean, now do they?"
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida smiled and laughed once again "Indeed, they are often confusing but they have guided me well over the years" the dusty pink eyed gaze rested for a long moment on the male before she sat and instinctually groomed some dirt off of his cheek. She smiled tilting her head lightly "Indeed, but I'm usually more careful, I have not fallen in the ooze for a long time. My mind likes to wander." She licked her lips, able to see his face properly now she had cleaned his cheek "You have wonderful, if strange markings." silence echoed again, she obviously thought about things she was going tosay, or perhaps her pauses simply marked a place where she wished to listen to see if the spirits had anything to say "What brings you here, you are certainly not a spirit talker, I have never seen your markings amongst my old pride, where do you journey to?" Her interest was apparant, she had never been past the swampland borders, spending her life here had made her a very good huntress of all things swamp related, plus a few prize other things, but she had never wished to leave. However, she had never met alion whom wasn't of ehr old pride why would anyone else come here? Curious, her mind whispered, very curious.
Ary Keeyara "Why thank you," Mteuli said smoothly, both to her comment on his markings and the cleaning of a bit of his fur. "I am not from this area, so my markings would be a little odd, mm? In my pride they are rather common...either of the earth or of the sky they are said to be. I am of the earth and my brother of the sky." He told her more then she obviously needed to know, but that was perfectly fine.
"I am here," He continued, moving easily from one question to another, "to find some missing souls from my pride. We were not in good favor for a while with the spirits and our goddess, so many wandered away, you see," He told her of these things, thinking she'd easily relate to them compared to the social issues that had arisen as well, "But...now things have returned to normal and my brother and I wish to see if any wish to return. I guess I simply would like to have a few runions with some others and check up on them, is all."
Syrius Lionwing ((hehe sures dusty ^-^!!)) Kikawaida smiled "The spirits were angered at my pack a long time ago it seemes, perhaps I am the only one left now, I am unsure truthfully. I suppose a few must have fled the floods. My mother died in them when I was young I can remember little of her." She paused, these pauses seemed to happen often with her, she obviously thought she too was giving out too much information "I have never left this swamp, what is the world outside like?" curiosity filed her eyes, she seemed almost child like in her questionings but he seemed to know some of the world. Of course, she decided eh still needed a bit more of a clean so took ehr grooming to his shoulders "It seems a shame your beautiful fur is all dirtied up. I do not envy the weary traveller in this swamp. It is a dangerous place, even I do not know it alla nd i have lived here my whole life"
Ary Keeyara "That is a terrible story. I am sorry for your loss," he told her with genuine emotion. No wonder the poor female was out here all alone-she didn't have anyone else. "The spirits seem to cause a great deal of trouble when they are in the mood-it is a great shame, for I'm sure they dispose of many good people living throughout the world."
As she began to clean his fur he felt his body relax easily. Mm, if Mteule saw him he'd be rather cranky. But then, Mteule seemed to be like that with whatever he did. "Thank you, my dear...those knots really are uncomfortable, though dirt never did hurt anyone...at least not of my knowledge." He smiled at her, showing smooth gratitude for her cleaning. Then he went back to adress her question, "The world outside? Well, it is very different...there are many types of land out there, you see. There are tall forests with lush green trees and clear waters and there are landscapes of sand that stretch for miles without anything to drink...and there are flat areas of grasses under a great blue sky...there are even huge rocky cliff faces reaching out to the endless blue waters of the sea."
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida smiled at him, she had finished cleaning down one side of his fur, leaving his tail though, she would do that last. She circled him and sat once again "it sounds wonderful. I would like to se the world one day, but I am unsure if the spirits would allow me. I do not fear them, they have been very good to me but, well they allow me to leave this place? I have always thought it sacred and my home, but i am alone here, I desire perhaps to see the world or simply other lions" Her speach pauses once again as she cleans his other cheek and smiles "you're a very handsome young rogue, your mate must miss you at your home lands."She smiled softly going back to cleaning his other side, revealing his fur colour rather than just the caked dirt and grime he had collected in the swamp.
Ary Keeyara "Perhaps the change they speak of is the one of you venturing out into the world?" Mteuli suggested as she finished cleaning his side. It felt really good, he had to admite. He never got baths like this at home. "Mm...for what greater change is there then leaving your home to see the world for the first time?"
Her smile was sweet, he concluded, returning it softly. She may not be used to having others around, but she really was rather good company. "I'm afraid that isn't so, for I have no mate to speak of," He told her simply. He was a very social lion, but getting into an indepth relationship was a little hard with Mteule around. He was just a little too stiff about such matters, much to Mteuli's displeasure.
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida smiled, she looked a little embarressed "I'm sorry I did'nt mean to offend you, I am not often around others.." she trailed off looking forlorn had she lost the first lion she had met all ready to her foolish tongue. "Leave?" the word suddenly hit her as he said it, why would she leave? Changes. Her brow furrowed as she spoke again, perhaps she was being foolish, perhaps she was simply feeling alone in this place for the first time, another lionw as here and she felt alone? Her brow creased but she looked to the young male with eyes as curious as a new born cubs "Could you show me?" even saying it made her feel sheepish. She was askign a stranger to show her the world. but why? she loved the swamp it was home, yet, yet there was a longing in her gut that she should see otehr lands, and meet other lions.
Looking to him, she looked ever so childish for a moment "I'm sorry, I have perplexed you, it seems the spirits have made me a little rambunctious today, you will excuse my foolish banter of course, you wouldn't wish to take a silly femem such as me on your journey, i would just be a hinderance to you." She stood then, still looking rather embarressed, perhaps she should leave, she must have upset him so much speaking in such a jovial manner.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli smiled softly at her, a comforting smile, as she struggled with her words. She was uneasy, nervous about the idea of leaving. But he understood. He had left his homeland when he was far younger then she and he had been nevous as well, especially since he had always been used to having Mteule by his side. However, things had turned out fine and he had been able to return whenever he wanted.
"I was not offended...nothing you said could bring offense," He told her first, showing that he had no problem with anything she had said. It all was normal to him, none of it in the least bit insulting. He then continued, standing, "My journey is not one for me alone...it is meant to be shared with others, as are my travels. If you wish to come, it would be a joy to have you."
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida sat back down at his kind words, looking a little flustered for a moment before she spoke again "really?" she looks overly shy, a slightly frightend look coming to those pretty pink eyes. A silence came over her again, perhaps she was consulting the spirits again, or waiting for them to rebel against her decision to leave "It would be wonderful if you would allow me to travel with you Mteuli" Her smile never faltered then though she suddenly noticed she had missed a big brown patch right in the middle of his back. She leant over to clean it. She wasn't usually this meticulous, but it seeed such a shame to hide all that pretty fur behind mud and dirt.
Once she was satisfied she sat once again and smiled "Oh! You must be hungry" she looked shocked at herself for a moment, how could she not have asked him if he wanted something to eat "I killed a warthog earlier this day, it isn't too far will you be alright to walk? I'll guide you.." her eyes looked shy and sheepish again, she knew the swamp well and she hid her food where ever it seemed it should be fit to put it. This one was pretty near the center, her usual living place an island of green grass her haven, she had been thrown in to the tree which grew there as a cub and it had grown and flourished, the island covered in springy green grass which attarcted birds and animals to it's haven. It was great place to hunt and rest, she had always been there alone, noone had ever come with ehr before, it was her sanctuary.
Ary Keeyara
"And it will be wonderful to have you with me," he told her with the same smile he had held before, his emerald eyes twinkling in pleasure. Even if he wouldn't admit it, Mteuli easily grew lonesome on his travels, something he had never seen happen to his brother. So, finding a friend was welcome and rather exciting.
He gave a nod as she offered him something to eat, "I am a little hungry...but only if you don't mind." His manners never faultered and his charming nature never seemed to change. He noticed her shy looks and returned them with comforting smiles. She had no need to be shy with him, but he had no problems if she wished to be. It was rather cute, after all.
Syrius Lionwing ((LOL he's a womaniser I already said this XD!!)) Kikawaida smiled softly "only step wher I do okay?" she looked at him seriously, for a moment a cloud of worry drifted over her eyes "I live deep in the swamp, it's a little dangerous to those whom don't know the paths" She was obviously well versed in this, she had watched many creatures sink in the ooze. Most of them prey beasts, she suually pulled them out and put them out of their missery. They would only die after all and they always made a good meal for her. Her tail flickered as she turned "hold my tail okay and if you feel any pull, tug and I will get you out." She was worried now, perhaps she shouldn't have asked him to her oasis, what if she lost him in the swamp? he was so nice and careing and wanted to help her. She preyed to the spirits waiting for him to take her tail before starting to walk, she knew the path well and she had to concentrate on it now, she didn't wish to have another catastrophie as she had earlier. She really didn't wish to loose this handsome rogue.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli nodded toward her warnings, taking them seriously enough, but still unable to loose his relaxed manner. "As you wish," He murmured before taking her tail with care within his mouth. He did not fear the dangers of the swamp, but he new they existed. He had faith, however, that if anything were to happen this femme would know what to do, just as he had faith that anyone who wandered into his jungle home would be able to be added by himself.
He followed her footsteps carefully, matching his paw within her print. It was similar to the walking he had done before, but instead of looking for things he should step on he merely had to watch how she walked and follow it.
Syrius Lionwing They were swift to go through the swamps, she knew the path well and her little oasis quickly loomed before them. The green expance about a quarter of a mile wide all the way around, the huge, tree in the center full of blossom. Her paws came to the spongy land first and she smiled, turning around to look at the handsoem male "you can let go now" She gigled, acctually giggled, her looked so funny holding on to her tail, she was reminded of elephants she had once seen but the image was quickly driven away as she remembered what they were here for.
In a second she was away returning with an adult warthog, fat and un touched "please, dig in, you must be starving" she whispers her smile still fixed upon her maw. She was happy to help and delighted to have found a companion and helper through the big world outside the swamp.
Ary Keeyara
"Of course," Mteuli replied with a smile, his voice muffled due to the fact that he still held her tail within his jaws. He dropped it gently near the ground and lifted his head again. He then moved to stand beside her only to watch her go off to fetch the food she had caught before.
He waited without any trouble and when she came back he greeted her again with a friendly nod. As to her offer he only smiled, "Ah, but where are my manners? Ladies first, of course. And after all, it was your catch. I do believe my stomache can wait for that, as it should."
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida smiled lightly, she really wasn't hungry "Oh no, I insist" she whispered, bending down simply to peel the skin from the warthogs most juicy parts, it's flanks "I was saving it for later in the week. I only hunt but once a week here I have little ned for such alot of meat on my own. You have travelled much you must eat and rest with me." the second part made ehr look a little flustered,s eh hadn't meantit, well she had she wished him to rest at her home, this island but it had sounded rather uncouth for her to say such a thing. She looks at him once again, still looking a little out of place even though this was her home, she really wasn't used to conversing with other lions, the spirits had been her friends forever, finding this ever so charming male in the swamp had to be a god send, or perhaps the spirits were smiling upon her.
Ary Keeyara
"Well...I suppose if you insist, though I must say I feel terribly rude in doing so," Mteuli said, bending his head down to dig his teeth into the flesh beneath the skin she had peeled away. He had noticed her sudden flustering from a comment she had made and he knew why. Some lions could easily take that comment the wrong way. However, he knew she didn't mean it that way so he didn't make a big deal of it. It was a friendly gesture and he was greatful. After swallowing a piece of meet he had pulled away from the corpse he told her with a smile, cleaning his maw slightly before doing so, "Thank you...both food and shelter I greatly apreciate."
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida sat quietly for a while, glad he hadn't commented upon her slip up. Her ears twitched and she watched him happily eating the meat she had caught. She had never fed anyone before and her mind wandered to whether meat tasted the same to him as it did to her. She didn't voice her question though happy to just watch him eat. Strangely she wanted to groom him again watching his fur get all blood splattered. It was a shame to hide his handsome fur. Still she waited quietly until he was finished with his meal, she didn't want to desturb him. She had never groomed anyone before it just seemed a natural thing to do she hadn't even thought that it was a rather personal close contact thing to do, perhaps that was a good thing on ehr part.
Ary Keeyara
Mteuli ate his fill, leaving a good portion of the warthog behind. It would be terribly rude to eat the whole thing and besides, he could feel the warm weight of food in his belly and he no longer felt the gnawing of hunger in his stomach. He licked his mouth, cleaning off the blood from his face the best he could, his ears pulling forward. "Thank you again...it was very delicious," he said with a smile. He found one of the things about traveling was you tended to eat different things wherever you went, just because some prey was more common then others.
Syrius Lionwing Kikawaida smiled at the young male with a very pretty little smile then "I'm glad yuo liked it. i can never eat a whole one usually the vultures come and clean it up though." She stays resting, wondeing if he will join her "will you tell me more about where you come from?" she whispers, that curious glint back in her big soft pink eyes.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli set to work cleaning up the blood quickly, first. After all, she had spent so long cleaning off the mud he couldn't let him stay in such a state. The blood was actually easier to get out, due to how fresh it was and it was in much smaller amount. "Better then not getting enough to eat, hm?" He said with a smile her way while he licked at his tail.
When he was finished he moved to lay down at her side easily, his paws out in front of him and his hind legs almost under his full belly, "My home...? Mm...well I come from the jungle...there are tall, green trees everywhere you look...and green plants with huge leaves that catch the rain. And there is alot of rain to catch, because it rains a lot there...and there are watefalls of water so clear you can see all the stones at the bottom of the pools. And there are birds of every color and size and small animals that you never imagined existed until you see them for yourself."
Syrius Lionwing Kika listened in pure silence as he ecplained his home, though her eyes widened at every word. Her tail twitched and her smile widened further "it must be a beautiful place, a place truely blessed by the gods" she whispered the word gods, it was something sacred to her to say the word. Her eyes turned to gaze at the horizon for a long moment, she found it very hard to imagine the place, the green, no bogs or mires and water as clear as daylight. "It must be wonderful" she whispers again a soft sigh escaping her chest, she felt so enchanted by the thought of this wodnerful strange place. The swamp had always been her home she had never imaggined there were places with more than one green tree every hundred yards "will you take me there one day?" she tilts her head to look at him, her pastel pink eyes questioning.
Deep in ehr mind,s he almost longed for this journey to begin, but she knew he would need rest, sleep was good for tired bones, plus she had to say good bye to the swamp and promise she would return before they left. It was only proper. the samp had been good to her for most of her life despite it's tradgedies, she owed it thanks.
Ary Keeyara
Mteuli smiled, feeling very pleased that she was so in awed by his home. He truly loved it there and he really was lucky to have grown up in such a place. He hoped that as he traveled he'd be able to take others back there, just like this lionness here, so they could enjoy its blessing as well.
"Of course I will," He told her softly, "I have to go back there rather often, actually...to visit my brother and friends." He chuckled for a moment at the thought, "Actually, I do believe my brother would be rather angry with me if I stayed away too long." He glanced at her with his emerald orbs, having looked away for just a moment when talking of his pride, "I'm sure he'll like you, though, even if he does become a little stiff with me."
Syrius Lionwing ((ohh where did that come from?? **has a present in her inventory**)) Kika looked a little worried for a moment "I wouldn't want him to be mad at you" she whispers, looking a little frightened that she might upset somone. She really couldn't remember proper lion etiquette she really had been away for far too long from others contact.
Her gaze was caught though by his big green eyes and she smiled softly "you have handsome eyes Mteuli" she made a little purring sound, she really didn't know why she was making such comments but she didn't look to shy about saying it, it was like his fur, it was very nice and soft and didn't smell a little of the swamp. He smelled fresh and fre, a scent she had never tasted before, it was new and wonderful and she wanted to experience that scent she wanetd to capture it and make it cling to her own fur. Her gaze turned to her paws then, she was such a drab colour, and she must smell so strange having been around the swamp lands her whole life. He really must think her rather odd talking to spirits and jumping at the chance at adventure. He barely knew her, she barely knew him either, but she knew a good heart when she saw it. She hoped she wasn't taking advantage of him. He was obviously a charmer, and extremely handsome on top of that. Her contemplations were cut short though as the idea of adventure roamed back in to her mind, an adventure with a handsome rogue, it seemd like some fairy tale, if she knew what a fairy tale was.
Ary Keeyara
"He'd be more mad at me if I left you here," He told her with a laugh. He rolled his shoulders in a shrug, seeming completely unaffected by the idea of being scolded by his twin, "He never seems happy with me...so no matter what I do will change is reaction, do not fear. Besides, he doesn't really do anything to me." Despite how he spoke of being punished, he did so with affection, for it was apparent he loved his brother no matter what happened.
When she commented on his eyes he smiled smoothly back, "And you're eyes are very lovely as well...never have I seen any of such a beautiful hue." It was true...he had never seen a lion with pink eyes before, and it was a rather admirable trait from his point of view. Mteuli had no idea he might be leading her on in a way, for he was simply being himself.
Syrius Lionwing ((LOL okay ti's alright it's just my old trunk XD! it's become a gift box XD **was all confused right then**))
Kika smiled softly "I have pink eyes?" she smiled, she had never looked at erself in a shiny surface before, she gained most of her water from the little clear puddles which formed on ehr oasis, or fromt he animals she ate. "thankyou" she smiled to herself, having another lion around was certainly turning out to be a good thing. "it sounds like you love your brother. I never had any siblings, it might have been nice not to be alone I suppose, but you get used to it" she smiles wanely, her dusty pink orbs looking once again to be rather far away in a dream world.
Ary Keeyara "I suppose you do. Sometimes I think I wish I were alone but...I don't know what I would do without him, honestly," Mteuli smiled and shook his head. No matter how annoying his brother might be at times, life would be way to strange without him. They were part of each other, even if it didn't seem like it most of the time.

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :. Roleplay
Muraki [[Alrighty.]] *A brown lioness lay upon the ashen earth beneath the tall shadows of elephant bones. Gently trapped beneath her paws was a little creature that Tu had never been able to catch before. There seemed to be something wrong with this one- the reason it had not been able to escape her. It had big black eyes, a twitchy nose, and a long white tail. It was also making quite a fuss.* Shh, little thing. Tu is not eating you. *She told it, trying to get it to stop moving. The little mouse seemed to be distressed about the state of its left leg- which it was limping on before Tu caught it.*
Ary Keeyara Nkechi loped through the graveyard, casting wary glances at the long, dark shadows the huge skulls and bones formed. Every little sound caught her ear and made her jump or feel a sense of unease. She didn't think she could ever get used to living in this place. Perhaps she would have if there was no where else, but the borders of the land of bones had been an early discovery of hers and it was the place she visited most often. That was where she was headed currently before she heard a noise.
It sounded like the little fuzzy creature that liked to dart in and out of the cracks of the skulls. Mice were a common animal to see among the colorless bones. Unsure of what could be distressing the poor creature so, Nkechi slowly made her way toward the sound, her steps slow and careful and her body bent low to the ground.
Muraki No more noise. *Tu said in an imitation of the stern voice adults adopted when dealing with their children. She bent her head and carefully started to groom the little creature with her tounge. It didn't stop squeeking- in fact, it did it even more.* Tu is not a very good mother... *She said with a little frown.*
Ary Keeyara (( xD I'm sure Kajji will find a mate once he's grown, Sirius. All in good time. )) Nkechi finally came across Tu. She remained behind a large tusk, watching with wide emerald eyes. At first she thought Tu was alone, but that didn't explain the squeeks. Finally she caught sight of the mouse Tu was holding. Her ears flattened to her head. The poor mouse sounded so scared-something of which Nkechi could relate.
She slowly moved into view, walking uneasiy over to Tu. She hadn't met the lionness before, though the scent was present in the graveyard much of the time. "I...I think its scared..." She told the lionness carefully.
Muraki *Bowl shaped ears perked at the sudden approach of another. The scent told her it was another lion- one that dwelled in the graveyard as well. Tu looked up at the newcomer, blue eyes curious.* Tu told it she won't eat it... *She sighed, wishing that the mouse could understand. Tu was aware her speech wasn't very good even to her fellow lions- so it must have been even worse to the small creature.*
Ary Keeyara "Maybe it's too scared to listen..." Nkechi said sheepishly. She knew that sometimes she didn't listen very well when she was scared. It was hard to think about what someone was telling you when you were scared out of your mind. It must have been worse for the little mouse for mice weren't very smart, even if they were cute.
Muraki Oh... *Tu looked down at the mouse and then back up at the other lioness. Her tail swished slowly behind her in contemplation.* ...you is knowing how to make little thing not scared? *She asked, looking hopeful.*
Ary Keeyara "I don't know...we're so big I don't think we can...." Nkechi trailed off, remembering when she had met that big hyena. No matter what she had said Nkechi had been terrified. It was probably the same with the mouse.
Muraki *Tu's ears drooped a little. It seemed there was nothing she could do to calm the mouse down. All she had wanted to do was play.* Tu thinks it hurt its leg. *She said, nodding at the critter and encouraging Nkechi to look at its left leg.*
Ary Keeyara Nkechi drew closer at this, peering down at the little creatures leg, "Oh...it does seem hurt! Poor thing..." She sounded extremely sad. The young lionness loved small animals like mice and butterflies, and seeing one hurt pulled at her heart-strings, even if it was rather silly.

.: The Tapestry - Mteuli :. Completed Roleplay
Tamiko-chan (( For Ary.. <33 ))Back and forth.. back and forth..
White paws suddenly stopped as something skittered out from a random bush, giving the female quite a scare. Upon seeing that it was merely a lizard running towards its home, she let out a loud sigh and lowered her head slightly. It seemed that every single thing out here scared her now... ever since that one night...
Aysha shivered, feeling a cold feeling slowly traveling down her spine despite the heat of the day. She had wanted to forget about that one incident, but it seemed that it would always haunt her mind for as long as she'd live.
It was a horrible thing, what that male had done. The young lioness had just been being her normal, peppy self and all of a sudden he just leaped at her.
Another shiver ran down her spine. She blinked then looked down at her belly. It was growing larger, she could tell, and it wasn't because she had been eating more. Yet at least it wasn't that large...
Ary Keeyara Mteuli loped along through the grasslands, his fur a little messy. A yawn stretched his mouth. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, due to the hard ground he had chosen to sleep on. Next time he'd be far more wise on choosing a napping spot.
He still felt rather drowsy, and sore to boot. So, he didn't notice the familar scent drifting on the small, warm breeze of the day. If he had he probably would have been trotting off her meet her with a friendly grin. Instead, he moved along sluggishly, shaking his head a cupple of times to clear it.
Tamiko-chan The female's head was also a tad clouded, though probably not for the same reason as Mteuli's was. Her's was this way because she was attempting to figure out what to do with herself. There was obviously something going on in her stomach, and she wasn't quite sure she was ready for it.
Sighing, Aysha randomly rose to her paws and started off in the first direction she looked in, which happened to be the direction of her friend. Yet she had no idea because the wind was blowing the wrong way and her head was down, and eyes closed despite her not knowing what was ahead of her.
So as she moved along, the lioness murmured small things to herself, still attempting to figure out a reasonable plan.
Tamiko-chan Aysha continued along in the same fashion, still not noticing her friend even as he came into view. Her beautiful eyes were shut off from all light, causing her to walk in what seemed like darkness and loneliness, which was exactly what she felt at the moment.
That was, all up until Mteuli spoke out to her and caused her to leap back a foot or two. He had said 'again' and so her mind was still in paranoid mode and had perhaps mistaken him for the other male...
Eyes widened and growing body tensed as the lioness stared at the figure in front of her. It took a moment or two for the fact to sink in that she knew this one and that he was a good friend, one who wouldn't think of harming her. At least, she hoped.
Letting out a long sigh of relief, she lowered her head tiredly and padded forward slightly. "Oh, Mteuli, you scared me! I thought you were... well, someone... uhm... else." For a moment her gaze lingered on him, then it turned away softly to the ground.
But when he asked if something was wrong, she had to look back at him. Did he know? Was it that obvious? Suddenly, and without much thought, the femme cried out:
"He hurt me, Mteuli! He hurt me!" And then she began to sob.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli had not thought it had been something that bad. He thought perhaps she was feeling sick or a little lonely. But when she began to cry and rambled to him about what had happened he knew it was something far more serious.
He moved to her side, nuzzling against her fur in a concerned fashion, something any good friend would do to comfort her. "Oh, Aysha...who hurt you?" He had a feeling he knew what she meant by "hurt" and wouldn't ask her to describe the matter, for obviously it was extremely painful.
Tamiko-chan Aysha continued to cry for quite some time, unable to stop even though she had wanted to. She probably seemed like such a freak, crying so randomly like that and claiming that someone had hurt her. But at least Mteuli seemed concerned and didn't laugh at her or anything..
Finally, after about seven whole minutes of just weeping, she managed to hold back her tears and sobs long enough to get out something that resembled a sentence.
"He did. Don't," she sniffled, "know his name." Then she suddenly crawled forward towards him, as if she was afraid yet at the same time wanting comfort from him. "He seemed nice.. but he wasn't, oh, Mteuli!! I can't.. I'm not.. I can't do this!"
The female wasn't ready for this... for motherhood. It was just something she hadn't thought she'd have to deal with so soon. She had known it would happen some day, but not like this.
"What can I do? I... I..." She suddenly began sobbing again, unable to speak with the horrid memory haunting her mind.
Ary Keeyara Mteuli placed a comforting paw upon her back as he moved himself close to her. He licked at her face, cleaning away at her salty tears, "Shhhhh, Aysha..." He felt an anger in his heart, an fury toward the male who had done this to her. Without a name or any idea of who it was there was nothing he could do about him, however. All he could do was help his friend, "It'll be alright....you can do this...yes you can..."
Tamiko-chan Aysha just shook her head, her mind made up that she wouldn't make it through this ordeal. There was no way. How could she take care of cubs by herself? She had always believed that it took two parents to raise a proper child. And now, there was only one parent. How would her offspring turn out?!
Still sobbing, she continued to shake her head. "I can't! He hurt me... Mteuli, there's LIFE growing inside of me and I'm not ready!" By now she didn't care what she said or if she sounded like a bratty little cub who had gotten scolded for some thing or another by her mother.
"He hurt me, and I will never forget.. what he did.."
Ary Keeyara "No one expects you to forget, Aysha," He murmured soothingly to her. Mteuli was usually very good with words, and could usually tell someone what they wanted to hear without lying easily. This, however, was such a different case it was hard for even him to deal with. "You don't have to do this alone, I'll help you...and my brother could help...and our friends...you wouldn't be alone, Aysha..."
Tamiko-chan Aysha suddenly stopped sobbing. He must have been good with words because what he said definitely calmed her down a bit. Now all that was coming out of her were tiny sniffles here and there.
"R-really?" she asked quietly, wondering if he'd really stick around for her. Yet she didn't want to trouble him or anything. He had his own life, she was sure, and she didn't want to barge in on it just because of her silly little female problems. It was a wonder he was even able to cope so well with her pregnancy... he was doing better than she was!
"I just... I mean, you don't have to... really.." Sniffle. "You don't have to worry about me... I'll be fine, I think. Maybe. I don't know."
And suddenly she began to sob again. Okay, so maybe she shouldn't have thought about bothering him with her problems. She always felt bad about that sort of thing...
Ary Keeyara "Of course I mean it," Mteuli said with a soft smile. "You're my friend...you don't honestly think I'd leave you high and dry? It'll be my pleasure to help...and I'm sure my family would love to help as well...you could meet my twin for the first time." He added the last bit to emphized how she wouldn't be alone...and perhaps to cheer her up a little bit. Others seemed to have enjoyed the thought of meeting his twin, for some reason.
Tamiko-chan Another sniffle escaped the pregnant female's jaws. Now that she thought about it, Mteuli didn't really strike her as the one to abandon someone in need, friend or not.
"Oh... well... you will help me with them then?" She looked almost hopeful that he would say yes. And it might have sounded like she was asking him to become the dad or something, but really she was just wondering if he'd help her hunt and such for the little guys once they were born. Aysha wasn't, after all, a fantastic hunter.
Eyes still slightly watery, the female looked up at him expectantly. She hadn't meant to put any pressure on him or anything, but she was really curious. Would he really help her with the cubs?
"Your twin?" she echoed, for a moment forgetting that the male had one. "Oh, yes, him. I guess I could meet him... but do you think you're family will like me?" Paranoid mother-to-be.
Ary Keeyara
Mteuli wasn't the type to think of is as the form of commitment of a parent. And it was a good thing she wasn't asking that, for it wasn't really something he could offer readily. However, helping he could still do in many other ways.
He nodded, still having that soft, comforting smile of his, "Of course I'll help you...and..." His gaze flickered to the horizon, where he was sure the jungle lay in the distance, "They'll like you...I know they will. After all, I know them better then anyone...as they know me better then anyone. I'm sure they'll love to help out too."(( And Ary's off to bed. xD;; We'll have to continue later, guys. <3 ))
Tamiko-chan Aysha nodded to herself, tail flicking about curiously. Should she go with the male to his family? But what if they didn't like her... Mteuli had said that they would, but how could he be certain? Suddenly fear gripped her and for a moment she thought of declining the invitation.
But then she thought of her pregnancy. Cubs, they needed a good family to grow up in. And just like that her mind was made up.
Moving slowly to her paws, the mother-to-be smiled at the lion beside her. "Thank you, Mteuli... I think I will go with you. They sound... nice. And I'll definitely be needing the help!" Then she grinned and bumped his shoulder playfully, all fear forgotten in the moment.
"So when are we leaving?"
Ary Keeyara He smiled, bringing his paw back down to the ground as Aysha bumped him playfully. Well, it seemed like she was a feeling a little better, at least for the moment. That was good...he had started to think this was a problem he couldn't sooth. "Well, we'll leave whenever you want. It is entirely up to you, my lady." He knew she might still have a small fear of meeting his pride but...he was sure once she got there she'd be fine. The group was a good one, with good-hearted lions that cared about others.
Tamiko-chan Aysha growled playfully as she bounded forward then back again, itching to just tackle him and start up a wrestling game. But she knew that with a cub growing inside of her that she couldn't play like that anymore. Not if she wanted it to live.
"How about now? I'm kinda itching to get away from these lands." She giggled then suddenly dashed forward and clamped into his ear with her mouth. Slowly she tugged and tugged, walking backwards a bit to perhaps start up a safe game for her cub.
"And they sound nice, I think it'd be good if I met them soon."
Ary Keeyara Mteuli watched her bound about until she rushed forward to bit his ear. As she began to tug he grinned sheepishly, bending his head in the direction her her pulls so the pain was lessened, "Ah! My dear, I had no idea you were so strong!" But then, Mteuli wasn't a male that screamed physical strength, for his success came from his way with words.
"Yes...we can go now...it's not as if anything is stopping us, if you wish to leave," He replied, almost normally, as if she was tugging on his ear. There was the small difference in his voice that showed he was affected by her playing, however, but not in a bad way.(( Ary wants to rp with Bane. domokun ))
Tamiko-chan Aysha chuckled again then randomly let go of his ear. She figured she had caused him enough 'pain' for the day and so wouldn't bother him much more... at least she was thinking that she wouldn't.
"Strong, yeah, that's it," she laughed. It was great that she could smile once again, but when he mentioned how 'strong' she was, the young lioness began to wonder if she was really all that strong. If she cried and was frightened this much before the cubs came, how would she cope when they were born and such?
Shaking her head to clear it a bit, Aysha butted his shoulder with the top of her head. "Yeah, let's go now. After all, pretty soon I won't be able to travel, what with the cubs and all...." Suddenly her eyes cast down. It was true, after a certain amount of time she would be too pregnant to travel far distances and such.
Ary Keeyara "Mm...I don't believe you'll be suffering from that too, quickly, my dear...it should take a couple months, but I do see your point," He gave her a reasuring smile as his ear was freed and she shook his head to clear away the gripping sensation. He looked rather funny when he had stopped, for some of his mane had settled in odd positions.
He looked at the horizon, picking out exactly which direction led to the jungle. No matter how far he went he didn't think he could ever not know the way home...it was something he held very close in his heart.
Tamiko-chan Aysha narrowed her eyes slightly at him. Since when was the male the expert when it came to pregnancies? Sighing, she just shook her head. Even though she thought it weird for him to know more, she knew that he was probably more knowledgable in that particular area.
"Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. But I just want to get away from this place." Suddenly another shiver ran down her spine. This was about the area where that male had attacked her and such. There was no need to linger around this place for too long.
Randomly the pregnant lioness stretched, ready for the long journey that she believed lay ahead of her and her friend, though she had no idea how far away his home was. Following his gaze, though, she figured that it was at least a little ways off.
"So shall we go, Mteuli? Or shall we stay... here?" Another shiver. Aysha really didn't want to stay here...
Ary Keeyara Mteuli nodded, "Of course, of course...lets be off." He turned and began to lope in the direction he knew was home. He watched Aysha out of the corner of his eyes to make sure she was following. He knew she would, since she seemed to have such discomfort in this area. But it was always better to be sure wasn't it?

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :. Completed Roleplay
Small noises and echos emitted from the Elephant Graveyard on this hazy afternoon. There had been a slight mist covering the already exceptionally grim and gloomy territory, making it look even more shady than it originally had looked. These noises sounded from the shifting and breaking of small bones, crumbling beneath the weight of a young juvinile while he hobbled along through the area. He'd gotten rather used to the pains in his left leg and back, although his limb and walking skills had gotten considerabley better from the last anyone had taken sight of the male. A blank expression hung across Rune's face, as if possibley hiding and harboring thoughts and emotions he assumed he could tell no one.
However in all honesty his mind had once again pondered heading back towards the center of this land, the curiousity of what lay hidden in Mafa's cave had become overpowering, and the anxiety of the need to find what exactly was back there had slowly begun to take its toll on the youngling. Quite often he glanced in that direction, knowing secretely that if Mafa caught him she was likely to keep him from leaving. He knew she hadn't liked trespassers.. let alone a lion trespasser. But he couldn't help it. Runai happened to be a curious being with mixed and hidden emotions. In fact it was honestly quite difficult to read his thoughts just by looking at him at any given moment. He'd need it in order to get into that cave..
Runai was rather.. preoccupied, and he was barely paying attention to anything else in the area while he loped through, every now and again slipping and fallling with a slam to the ground before hoisting himself up again and continueing his stroll, assuming he wouldn't run into anyone.
Nkechi had never liked misty days like this. The shadows and darkness of the graveyard was frightening enough, but the fog added another barrier to her sight, allowing anything to become a monster should she choose to see it that way. It also caused traveling to be much more difficult, for sometimes she would find herself almost running head first into a giant elephant skull or she would look around to realize she didn't remember which direction went back to their den or to the grasslands. It seemed like no matter how hard the young female tried, she just couldn't adapt to living in this place.
Her ears perked suddenly as she heard something moving in the white curtain not far away. There was the sound of shifty steps, uneven and clumsy. She stopped for a moment, a small, fearful shutter passing through her body. Slowly the shadow neared until finally the mist parted enough for her to see who it was. It was her brother.
She let out a relieved shy and raced to meet him with a smile, "Runai!" <3
Rune had just finished falling over as the looming shadow of another raced towards him. It was difficult enough to see as it was, let alone the misty fog that had decided to cover the land today. And, for defensive purposes, the fallen juvinile couldn't help but release a loud snarly growl, lips curling upward momentarily. "Touch me and you'll be in for it!" He grumbled, eyes narrowing while they squinted to see what critter was heading his way. It wasn't until a voice was heard that his guard lifted, momentarily allowing him to stand. "Oh.. s'just you.. could be anything in the fog, y'know.." He began, quirking his head upon standing, momentarily picking up his left paw in order to keep the majority of his weight from it. Releasing a heavy sigh, Rune continued. "What on earth're you doing out here..? You're near the middle of the graveyard, y'know.. I thought you didn't like it this far in..?" He didn't seem to catch onto the fact that she might have become.. lost.. in the midst of the mist. He stood waiting, a slight smile on his face while his tail shifted idoly back and forth. He liked his sisters company so much more than his brothers, who always made him feel as if everything were a competition.
Nkechi stopped a few feet from him, ignoring the growl he had offered at first before her cry. Her smile was soft and bright. She had a strong desire to rub against him, but resisted with some difficulty knowing he might still be sore from his wounds. Her ears perked pleasently as she listed to every word he spoke with affectionate attention.
When he had finished, or basically had, she looked rather confused. Her eyes were wide with puzzlement, which made her look rather adorable in a way. She was that far in? She hadn't realized it..."O-oh...I didn't know..."
"Psh.. don't tell me you still don't know your way around..? Even in this fog you should be able to walk around with at least a little idea of where you are.. otherwise you could walk straight into hyena territory. They don't like that, trust me," He began, offering a comical sort of grin at the last statement. Yes.. he sure knew that one by heart. Hyena's don't like lions trespassing. "And believe me, their leader doesn't particularly like lions. Anyway.. uhm.. d'you.. know how to get back..? Or.." Rune quirked a brow at this, blinking silently while he waited. If she couldn't find her way back then he'd have to show her.. or she'd have to stay nearby him until the mist cleared. Unfortunately for him, Runai really had no desire to meander all the way back to the edge and borderline of the grasslands, where he knew Chi loved to hang around. "You could always stay where I sleep until the fog clears.. if you don't feel like running through all this.." He offered, ears cocking forward.
Nkechi looked fearful at the mention of hyenas. She could have just wandered right up to one and not even noticed! The thought was terrifying and gave her no desire to go wandering around by herself. She was not as familiar with the graveyard as her siblings were, for she explored it as little as possible, spending her time in the grasses on the edge of the land instead.
She looked really distressed now, though she did her best to look like she was ok. It didn't work so well, for Nkechi could be read as easily as if she were spelling it out for the onlooker. Ears falling back a little she asked, slightly pleading, "Could...um...I stay with you for a bit?"
Rune could only watch with puzzlement at his sisters sudden distress, brows arching in a bemused sort of manner. "Yea.. sure. My place is up this way. I didn't get too far on my walk, unfortunately. Too much falling over and clumsy steps.." He stated, making an attempt to keep his relief hidden. Yes.. after he'd thought about how far the edge of the graveyard really was, and considering how far he'd gotten from his den this morning.. no. He most certainly was not up for a long, slow walk. "C'mon, I'll show you," He nodded at this while turning and beginning to shift off towards a somewhat large cliff in the distance. If Chi was so afraid of hyenas, he assumed he wouldn't tell her that the area he'd been sleeping in actually ran dangerously close to the territorial lines that each clan, in most cases, respected. Save for him, who frequently tended to cross the barrier. "See that wall over there..? Huge cliff, can't miss it. There's a cave underneath it that I've been using. Don't worry, no one's been in there for a while," He concluded, giving a quiet nod to affirm his statement.
"O-ok..." Nkechi nodded and walked along beside him, glancing about them every so often. To be honest, she didn't think she had ever been here before. She had never really thought about where her brother stayed...she always slept in the den with mommy and daddy or napped out in the grasses...sure she hadn't seen him around that much, but it hadn't been something she had ever mused over before. It made her rather sad, knowing that he was always so far away. Despite how she didn't see Rune much, she loved him alot.
As they walked at his pace she asked slowly, looking a little uncertain, "Don't you get...lonely out there, brother...?"
Rune kept his eyes ahead, unlike Chi, who continued to glance around the area. What was so interesting to stare at..? It was all covered by fog. Ah well. Supposing that she had never seen this area before, perhaps she merely wanted to become aquainted with the area.
"Hmn..?" He suddenly questioned, a brow furrowing while the other arched, attention almost immediately turning to stare attentively at his sibling. "Lonely..?" He added shortly, looking rather.. confused at this point. However he managed to brush his off his shoulder and move onward, a slight smirk spreading across his muzzle. "Don't be silly. Why would I be lonely..? I don't get along with Toshi or mom and dad.. so why would I want to run around lions I can't stand..?" He questioned. It was fair enough. He saved himself the hassle of being yelled and teased at, and he saved their parents the trouble of having to watch every second and do the yelling. It seemed like a legitimate reason to stay away. "Plus. This area's fun. You all stay too far out for my tastes. I'd prefer towards the middle of the graveyard." At this he laughed quietly to himself, shaking his head back and forth. What a silly idea. Being lonely out here. It wasn't that bad so long as you got used to it.
Nkechi looked even more sad then she had been before. She looked at her paws as they walked, confused a little by his words. How could he not miss mommy and daddy and brother? They were family...they all loved each other, right? She finally looked back up at him, frowning softly, making round emerald doe eyes at him, "You don't miss me?" She might not understand the rest of what he said about being in the middle of the lands or what not, but she understood that well enough
"What? Why wouldn't I miss you..? It's Toshi and mom and dad I have the problem with. So.. overbearing. Plus if I showed up looking like this.. you saw what mom did back when we were trying to dig out that trench. All over me. Sickening. I'm capable of cleaning myself, thanks," He grumbled, brows furrowing rather suddenly while his nose scrunched in distaste. "I mean.. It's not like I couldn't ever come back and see you all.. it's just.. easier to stay out here away from all the distractions and having to move around while I'm stuck like this, y'know?"
Nope. There was no way he could say really any much more than that.. Chi would be sure to flip out and ask about why he was so eager to run back to the hyenas. He'd been planning, and as soon as his leg and back were healed enough he'd go and find Mafa again. He was sure of it.
Nkechi didn't seem too comforted by this, but she didn't press the matter. There was nothing she could do to change his mind, that was clear. But despite their differences, she refused to stop loving him....or stop missing him. She supposed she'd just have to try and find this place again later so she could visit or something...even if she didn't like it here. Well, it seemed like she'd just have to enjoy the time she got with him today! "I...guess..."
"Heh.. don't worry.. I won't up and disappear on you. Maybe Tosh and our parents.. but I like you. So there." He snerked, releasing a quiet laugh while sidestepping as best he could in order to headbutt Chi on the side of her neck. "M'hm," He grinned, though noticably having some trouble getting back on track of walking without difficultly and tripping all over the place. "Not too far here. Just over this.. little hill.." Rune nodded at the sudden incline in the land. "Not exactly warm and cozy, but it'll do. Least it's not foggy in this cave. Wasn't earlier, anyway."
Nkechi felt a little more asured at this, knowing he wouldn't lie to her like that. Right? She smiled a little at his small push and nudged him back affectionately, helping to keep him up in the same instance. Her ears perked slightly as he nodded toward the cave, which was slowly becoming visable over the hill They were here? She wondered if his den was cozy like the one at home...he might say it wasn't, but one couldn't be sure until she saw it for herself, right?
Unfortunately, Runai was still a bit wobbly, finding it easier just to fall over than try to keep himself balanced nowadays. So, naturally, at the nudge from Chi he nearly tipped over. "Stupid legs.. I swear.. if we didn't have them it'd be so much easier on everyone.." He grumped, eyes rolling lightly in his head. "Yea.. anyway.. don't expect too much from this place. Haven't had time or the energy to fix it up, You've got.. cold.. hard floor.. rocky.. damp.. blegh. Kind of smells. That's fixable, though. " He began, releasing a mild yawn while he loped into the shallow cavern. It was dark and gloomy looking, and bones and blood from previous meals scattered across the floor in an unoraganized fashion.
Nkechi didn't like the cavern at all. It was cold and wet and quite frankly...scary. But she couldn't tell him that. If her brother liked it here then...erm...she'd like it too! Her ears quivered slightly as she swallowed and set her jaw, trying to be stubborn about this idea. She wasn't the hardheaded type though...so it was hard. "Uh...it's nice..."
She moved over to a clear spot on the floor and hesitently settled down onto it. There she rested her head uncertainly on her front paws. She wasn't sure she could even nap here but...she felt a little tired. Carefully she closed her eyes, which actually made it a little better, since she now couldn't see the gloom. "Lets...rest a little...bit..." Her voice faded slowly and she found that her eyelids felt heavy and her mind was going numb. So she welcomed sleep, despite the small shivers that went through her body due to the cold. But as long as she was here with her brother, she wasn't afraid of dozing off. She had faith in him.

.: The Tapestry - Adanna :. Completed Roleplay
Life in the pridelands have proven to be rather wonderful. There were plenty of friendly lions to meet and converse with, a large amount of game to hunt, and a sense of security that wouldn't disappear once you woke up. It was easy to enjoy. That is, if you were feeling well enough to.
Ada had been feeling strange for the past few weeks. Mostly it was her stomach and weight. She noticed she was getting heavier and more tired easily. Now, while she wasn't one to epsecially care about her appearace, (especially since Nukta was now hers) she didn't like the feeling of getting "fat". She felt less able to do things, like romp around and go on wild hunts.
This awkwardness, along with something else she couldn't explain, made her moody. While Ada was normally moody by nature, it was completely impossible to predict her now-a-days. She'd go off on the smallest things, break down over nothing, or suddenly want large amounts of attention in random situations. But among all this she didn't eat as much and refused to let Nukta get anywhere near her belly. x3
Today she was sulking out on a sunbathed rock. She had felt a little sick this morning and it set her in a rather bad mood. That feeling had also woke her up early, which wasn't normal. No matter what the cause, it didn't seem like she was too pleased.
Nukta had only the feeling of unease at first. Adanna's reassurance that she was fine did manage to hold back his worries for a little while, but with her growing increasingly irritable, needy, and... well... growing out horizontally... Nukta was beginning to have a sinking feeling he knew what was going on.
He knew nothing of the moodiness that came with the territory of pregnancy, but instinct told him that new life was on the way. In addition to Ada's new found sensitivity and vulnerability Nukta himself had become that much more territorial, protective, and he was pretty inverbal about it. He was becoming more and more hostile towards foreign and not-so-foreign males. He was just returning from a hunt now, having taken some to Pride Rock (which I doubt would be mentioned currently so |D; I'll make it a point to suggest Nukta hunts regularly for them next time we RP there.) and was bringing the rest back for Adanna to have at. He knew she wouldn't eat much but it didn't stop him from trying. He could always finish what she didn't.
He deposited the boar down at the base of the rock and glanced up at his mate with a worried and guilt ridden expression in his body language. Eyes concerned, ears flat, motions cautious.
"Adanna, are you feeling any better?"
Ada on the other hand was clueless. She thought that lifestyle of the pridelands was catching up to her and it made her really....well...frustrated to say the least. And since she didn't talk to Nukta about it...well, she sure as hell didn't learn any different.
As he appeared with food she felt her ears flicker back in annoyance. Just what she needed, more bloody food. Maybe she shouldn't have eaten so much when she was younger...always taking in more than what was needed. -.-
"Do I look any better?" She snipped at him irratably. Honestly, she looked fine, except for that huge scowl she had.
"You don't sound any better." He mumbled, eyes casting heavily sideways with a dejected sulk. "When was the last time you ate?"
Ada felt her fur prickle slightly at the question. This wasn't a conversation she was to persue. "Why the heck does it matter? I'm not going to starve," she said with a sharp matter-o-fact tone of voice
"I'm just trying to help!" Nukta shot back defensively, the fur on the back of his neck bristling slightly as well.
"Well, if I had wanted any I would have asked for it!" Ada hissed, feeling her temper flare. It was an extremely silly arguement and made no sense what so ever, but she was feeling a little too crappy to care at the moment.
Nukta's brow flinched downward, his ears as well and his fangs coming into view for a split second to show his guard had gone up, and he'd raised a paw slightly as if he were going to take a step back. His lover was obviously displeased, and seeing as it was his fault she was like this he did have enough sense not to push the topic further than that. It was a good thing for this poor creature that it was already dead. Had he waited till after talking to Adanna to hunt then it probably would have suffered a little more of a scare than it had.
Nukta tried hard to remember the rules of the pridelands, but when one needed to vent, one needed to vent.
And Nukta needed to vent.
"Fine, whatever! I'll eat it myself."
"Good, because I DON'T WANT ANY!" Ada yelled. It would have been rather dramatic and a put off if it hadn't been for the extremely loud stomach rumble that came afterwards. She blinked a little and looked away with a disgruntled flick of her ear. Erm...well, even if she was hungry, she wasn't eating now.
"....."
Nukta wasted no time sending a level glower Adanna's way.
"Don't want any, huh?"
"NO!" She said angrily, shifted so that she faced away from him and the food. >> No way she was backing down from what she had said. She was subborn like that and that wasn't going to change weather she was moody or not.
Nukta snorted and got to his paws, leaving the boar where it sat and heading off. If there was a chance she'd eat while she thought he wasn't there to see it then he'd be satisfied, but he didn't intend to stay if he was going to be a source of aggrivation.
This only made Ada more furious, though he wasn't really around to see that. How could he just up and leave like that?! Didn't he give a s**t she wasn't feeling good?! She growled angrily at the empy grass before her, feeling at a loss of what to do besides be pissed off. RARW! Stupid Nukta...stupid sickness...stupid getting fatness. >O
It wasn't much longer after that than a familiar figure came into view in the distance. She parted the golden grasses with her monochrome striped pelt, white dipped paws lifting to carry her delicate-- but far from it's usual lithe shape --form. Adanna wasn't the only one feeling the full effects of pregnancy. Tomoyo was as well.
She recognized Adanna's figure on the horizon some time before, having caught her friend's scent, and it made her smile however serenely.
Ada was far from paying attention to the winds or the area surrounding her. She was far to busy growling and grumbling and being miserable. She was actually rather good at it. Practice makes perfect, after all.
"You look rather displeased there, Adanna."
Tomoyo slowed to a stop before the rock, eyes flickering towards the boar on the ground. She had eaten earlier, but was feeling a bit peckish now.
Adanna's eyes slid toward's Tomoyo, still narrowed in irratation. Well, she wasn't going to take out her anger on the female, but she wasn't really going to be civil either. It wasn't fair, but Ada didn't feel like being fair, "That's the understatement of the century, thank you!" She didn't bother to notice her friend eyeing the food.
Tomoyo didn't seem to pay much mind to the lioness' snippy reply, seating herself with a bit of akward settling onto her hindquarters. She'd be lying down before long.
"Pardon me for stating the obvious, friend, second nature I suppose.... You've been well, aside from the symptoms, I hope?"
She smiled a bit, at Adanna this time.
"Symptoms....wha? How the heck did you know I was feeling sick?" Ada accused in confusion, still feeling rather edgy and angry. But when Tomoyo just smiled and spoke softly like that it was hard to yell back. >> But it still didn't make sense on how she knew she was feeling under the weather.
"Sick?"
Tomoyo looked puzzled a moment, then amused the next, laughing softly and settling down to lie on her stomach.
"Well, yes I suppose that it can be described as a sick feeling. The most obvious, er, symptom, is rather obvious to anyone I should say. Even before you start to show I've been told there's a healthy glow that others can sort of see."
Ada looked at her as if she had grown another head. What in the heck was she talking about? "How can you have a healthy glow when you're sick? That's absolutely retarted!" it was rather obvious she had no clue what Tomoyo spoke of. It only made her more frustrated...and gave her the longing to kill some poor bush somewhere.
Another laugh, and this time she fell to her side, tail ticking out behind her. It was almost as if she'd caught the same "sickness" as Adanna, by the judge of her midsection!
With mirthfilled eyes, Tomoyo looked to the younger feline once more.
"You aren't sick, Adanna, you're expecting. You're pregnant!"
Ada did not like being laughed at, especially in this kind of situation. It made her feel extremely stupid and embaressed her to no end. Her ears flickered back and she started at Tomoyo for a long moment, before asking causiously, as if the answer would explode in her face, "Whazta?"
"Children... you're going to be a mother! Do you know the father? Was he the male I smelled before?"
Tomoyo looked delighted, tried to sit up.... then decided she'd rather stay lying downn. ^_^;;
Adanna stared at Tomoyo for a long time, as though her brain couldn't process the words she had spoken.
"...."
Finally she burst out laughing, though it was rather harsh and sounded a little forced, "Oh, that's a good one! You had me going for a sec...but seriously, that wasn't nice, damn...I'm not feeling well I don't need a bloody heart attack!" She sneer formed a grimace again, obviously not enjoying the "joke".
Tomoyo's expression shifted into a furrowed and frowned up look of confusion...
Oh gods... Adanna was clearly not liking this news.
"Adanna...."
Adanna rolled over, looking disgruntled again. Despite how she didn't believe the female, she couldn't help but feel uneasy, "Don't take up comedy...it doesn't suit you."
"...... I wasn't joking..."
Tomoyo frowned further.
Ada glared at Tomoyo, her fur prickling with a sense of fear. "Wha the **** do you mean you're not joking?" She asked bluntly, looking extremely unhappy, especially since she could feel her heart rate speeding up uncomfortably, "I can't be having kids. I don't even know how the **** that works."
Tomoyo's frown deepend, and she struggled a bit to pull herself to her paws.
"When you take a mate, literally, physically, I mean, the most common result is pregnancy. It's why the two legs at my old home would marry their female cubs to the strongest or smartest males in the village, to produce healthy children and ensure the safety of them and the female.... I'm pregnant as well... though my Kiamba is no longer with me. It takes some time for the signs to show, but you are pregnant. Whoever the male that you mated with last is, he's the father."
This was a little too much for Adanna to take in. She couldn't be pregnant...erm...whatever that really meant. All she really understood was that Tomoyo was telling her she was going to have kids-and she seemed to be implying they were inside her.
She didn't know how to react or what to think. Instead, she found it easier just to be angry. "I...you...a...grrrrr what is with everyone today?!" She hissed before darting down from her rock akwardly and racing off through the grasses. She didn't want to hear anymore.
Adanna ended up back at the den. She crawled inside and scooted over into the far corner. There she curled up, trying to relax her shaking body. Before she could work out any of what she had been told she had drifted off to sleep, lulled by the dull throb of her head and the jitters in her nerves.
Nukta returned some time after, to where he'd left Adanna... Finding no one there (for Tomoyo left shortly after with a concern wridden heart) he sighed and brought the kill from his hunt back to the den. He'd just eat it himself he supposed.
How was he ever going to explain all of this to Adanna...? Would she ever forgive him for doing this to her without warning her first?
He arrived, finding her fast asleep in the corner. Nukta's ears drooped and his face fell. He'd have to apologize, it looked like she was really upset...
For the moment he settled to one side and picked over the food he'd brought back with him, he didn't have much of an appetite all of the sudden. Some time after that he abandoned the remains and settled down next to Adanna. She probably wouldn't be happy to have him there, but he didn't want her to get cold. This way he'd know when she awoke too, and would be close to her in case anyone came into their den.
Adanna didn't sleep well, having a constant worry in the back of her mind that prevented her from resting fully. It was worse then being awake, for she was plagued with worries and fears that made no sense in the dreams but were spawns from those she faced in the real world right now. Finally her eyes slid open as she could no longer fight it. She blinked and looked over Nukta and felt ther throat tightened. She rolled over stiffly, facing away from him as she struggled to ignore the awareness of fear she was grasping again. She could face hyenas and otherlions without a lick of fright, but this was something entirely different. She had no skills here.
Nukta showed audible signs of stirring, groaning softly and peeling his eyes open blearily. His eyes landed on Adanna's back-- had she turned over in her sleep or was she awake?
"Adanna?" He called uncertainly, groggily.
"...mm....?" she murmured hesitently. She wanted to talk to him, to clear things up, yet she was so scared taht she didn't want to either. She was a mess of confusion and it was clearly marked on her face, so she made sure to curl away from him. She didn't even know what she was doing anymore.
"Ada... listen I...."
Nukta sighed, shifting to push himself upright on his forepaws.
"I'm... sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to upset you and, I'm sorry I walked away. I didn't want to loose my temper."
Ada swallowed, her ears quivering but she said nothing. That wasn't even the issue anymore. It probably had never been the issue at all. But when she tried to will herself to talk, to say something about what Tomoyo had told her, she couldn't bring herself to do it. It was almost as if her body refused to listen. D;
Silence, well... he probably did owe her more than just an apology right?
"And... there's............ there's something else. I... I think I know why you haven't been yourself lately, I..."
Ada turned around to look at him in bewilderment. "If you knew why didn't you tell me?" Her voice was shakey and almost seemed like it was going to break. Worry and fear pooled in her auburn eyes, her ears pressed against her skull in distress.
Nukta felt his heart constrict to a stop, gulping softly, his own ears glued to his skull.
"I, well, at first I wasn't sure, I thought you'd be angry. I didn't think--"
"So you waited until someone ELSE had to tell me?" She shrieked in utter dismay, looking partially angry and partially on the verge of tears. "You should have known I had no clue! I still don't quite know whats going on! I can't do this Nukta I-" She hichuped, covering her muzzle with her paw.
Someone else? Someone else told her? She KNEW? No wonder she seemed so upset, it had nothing to do with that afternoon at all!
Nukta's tail fell to curl about his hind paws with guilt. Seeing her this upset, usually it made him angry, but knowing it was his fault, that's what made him feel like slime.
"I--!"
But, she was right. He couldn't say he was waiting for the right time- that had passed days ago!
He felt horribly ashamed for doing this to her, and hesitantly leaned in and brushed his head against her neck, very softly in apology. He wouldn't blame her if she smacked him one. "I'm.... sorry I didn't tell you sooner, myself. I wanted to be the one to tell you or, maybe I was hoping you'd realized- I... I know that it's intimidating but I know that we can do it. I promise, I'll be here with you for every step, I'll take care of this, of you, all of you...(!)"
Adanna shiffened at his touch, pulling away slightly. He didn't get it. She COULDN'T do this! "N-no Nukta...I...I CAN'T! I don't know how! I don't know anything about being a mother...I never even had one! I...I...I....c-c-can't...I...." Her voice faded from vibrant protest into a whine.
Nukta frowned, look getting just a bit more stern. She was just going to scare herself into a corner if this kept up! This needed to have a stop put to it as soon as possible.
"Everyone starts off somewhere, Adanna! When you first left home did you know how to survive by yourself? I didn't, but look at us now- look where we are!
"We're not alone anymore, either, it doesn't have to be just the two of us. There are other lionesses here that can help! Your friend, Bahkti (right?), you said she's a mother, didn't you? And what about Queen Sarabi? I've never been a father before either, but the difference between can and can't is trying."
Ada swallowed, looking away from his intense gaze. What he said made sense, sure, but that didn't change how she felt. She was terrified. Secretly she feared she'd turn out to be like her father-she'd give up when it got to hard and just leave the cubs by themselves. She couldn't completely recognize or put a name on this fear, but it was there, "...I...I...I'm s-scared..."
"I am too." He said considerably softer than moments before, but still firm. "But that's just how it is. Sometimes the unknown is frightning, but that's why we have each other, to lean on when we are. You can count on me Adanna, I won't let you quit, and I won't leave either."
Somehow his words made her feel silly because in the face of them her fear seemed pointless and without any holding at all. While that didn't make her feel passive toward the subject she did recognize he was right. Running away wouldn't change the situation, would it? They could do it, if they tried.
"...I think..." she murmured with another akward swallow and a causious glance in his direction, "...I'm going to...have to figure out how it all...erm....works then..."
Nukta's guard didn't drop, still worried and prepared in the event that she was not convinced. Her last comment did make his ears perk and his face frown slightly though. "It all?" He asked, "What do you mean... pregnancy?"
"I...still...well...don't really understand I guess..." Her ears flattened and she looked rather ashamed. "I guess I don't seem to know anything these days...I have them inside me but...I..." she was at a loss to explain what she meant.
"I...still...well...don't really understand I guess..." Her ears flattened and she looked rather ashamed. "I guess I don't seem to know anything these days...I have them inside me but...I..." she was at a loss to explain what she meant.
"...." Nukta's eyes flashed briefly as he chewed on her wording. Did she mean she didn't know how they came out, or did she mean she didn't know how they got in? > >; "Er... what do you want to know, how they come out?"
Because Nukta didn't know that either.
"Erm...I guess...among other things..." Ada's ears flickered uncomfortably. She shook her head, "I...guess I could ask Bakhti or something..." She took a deep breath, as though trying to prepare herself for something before she gave a sharp nod, looking determined, "We can do this..."
"If I can answer anything, I'll try but..." Nukta reletented, looking less flustered than Adanna had moments before. "... you may be more comfortable asking her anyway, since, you know, she's done all of it before and all."
"Well...what would be the point of asking if you aren't sure? Bakhti knows so...it's just easier," she said in a matter-of-fact fashion. It seemed she was slowly feeling better. At least, enough to be acting a little more normal
Nukta didn't let on, but he felt a little useless there. He had hoped he'd be able to answer some of Adanna's questions, but she was right, and he'd just get embarassed over some of the possible inquiries she had.
"Right." He mumbled his agreement, looking at Adanna then but saying nothing. He... he wanted to touch her, know that she wasn't angry with him anymore. It was hardly any better than before they'd gotten together, really, worse even. He seemed especially keen on pleasing her these days, keeping her happy and healthy.
Ada glanced at him sideways, a little tone of caution in her eyes. She was still nervous and frightened, to be sure...but it was about time she stopped letting that get to her, right? Ada wasn't one to want to be trouble about such things for long...for it never seemed to do her any good, since she was rather lacking on the ration side of things.
She bumped her nose slightly against her side, glancing at the body of the warthog from before, "I....suppose I should eat something, mm....?"
He wasn't sure how to word it, or rather, just felt like words weren't needed. He nodded in answer instead, purring finally at the contact she intiated. Feeling his confidence restored the former rogue male turned to brush his muzzle against her's.
