Deep Thought
It had been a rather surprising phone call that he had gotten not all that long ago. With it came news that stuck in the back of his mind, bothered him when he was sitting alone working on class notes, news that made him take a step back and look at his current situation... and wonder.
There was a little girl in the labs, one who was in need of adopting, preferably by someone close by from the sounds of it. He wasn't sure of the details but it sounded as though there were something wrong with her... not that that he could be certain without going there and finding out. He had told them he needed time to think and had continued to think on her until the point where it was getting hard to concentrate on his work.
Did he dare take in a third child? He had two teen aged sons in the house that had a special sort of love/hate relationship going on because they were very different, two dragons that followed the lead of their partners which was always cause for trouble as well, two bed rooms that were already taken, and Orpheus himself was left sleeping on the couch... it would involve moving from their apartment to other living quarters. He wondered if there were bigger apartments to be had on the grounds for all of them or if he should look into maybe a house off grounds. He would have to look into that if he went through with what he was considering... but his mind kept returning to Ligeia and Terpsichore. They were... products of his slightly lacking parenting skills. Sure, he tried his best but he'd ended up with a cross dressing owl boy who loved magic and babysitting and a snake boy with a lust for getting into fights with whoever listened to him for sons.
"I suppose that I could have done worse." He thought with a bit of a chuckle, reaching over to pick up his '#1 Dad' coffee mug and took a sip of the hot liquid within it. They were good kids when it came down to it. Take Ter for example, he had an attitude and acted as though he didn't care about anything but he often stood up for Ligeia even though they didn't always get along. Ligeia might not be what one would expect when they thought 'boy' but he tried his best, put a lot of time into everything he did, and took really good care of those around him. His sons were great kids and while he had missed a few life lessons here and there they had turned out well, no serial killers and neither boy had followed in his footsteps to become thieves.
He didn't like the idea of a child being alone either, in need of a family, not when he could easily take her in. It wasn't as if he were bad off, his job paid well, he had a stockpile of gems that were worth a king's ransom, and he was always working with kids anyway so what was one more to take care of? The little voice in his head that should be arguing all the reasons why he shouldn't was rather silent, it had said its piece and was now content to sit back and let Orpheus mull over the decision.
When it came down it... the man was pretty sure he already knew his answer he was just spending a lot of time debating something that was already decided. He rose to his feet, abandoning all of the papers on hand, his class notes, and what he really need to get done. He stretched out, finished off his coffee, got on his shoes and headed out. He could do this, what was one more kid after all when one already had two? He merely hoped that neither of his sons strangled him when they found out what he'd done without giving them a heads up.

A Little Pangolin
Orpheus arrived at the labs and there was a Tech standing there, waiting... as though she knew that he would come. Was he so easy to read he found himself wondering for a moment but shrugged the thought off. He really didn't care if he were one that anyone could read, he was here for a reason after all, "I came to see her." He told the woman.
She gave him a nod and a smile, "Good, she is playing right now." She told him, turning to lead the way to where the little girl was sitting, playing dolls.
"Huh... that is something I am missing." He murmured to himself. He'd raised to sons he realized and was lacking completely in the girl's toys department. He would have to go shopping, maybe he could get Ligeia to help when it came to picking out clothing for her since... he and her would wear similar attire. He stepped closer to her, looking her over before turning to look at the Tech, "What DNA is she?" He asked, curiously.
"She's a Pangolin, they are like scaled anteaters." She told him, holding out the clipboard with the notes on it about the girl.
Orpheus went flipping through it, taking in the information that was given over to him. He found it on the chart as well, the reason for why they were looking to place her with someone among the staff, "Poor little girl." He murmured, she sounded as though she would be a bit weaker then the other children, had occasional attacks where she collapsed. It made sense and he felt all that much more determined to take her in, to take care of her, "Alright, if its alright I am going to go and talk with her."
He handed back the chart and went to sit down next to the girl, giving her a smile, "Hello there." He greeted her.
The girl lifted her large, lavender eyes to gaze up at the man before her with surprise. He was... different then the Techs she thought to herself, he lacked the coat they all wore, he was a lot bigger too... or at least seemed pretty big to her. She gave him a smile and held one of the dolls out to him, "Play?" She asked of him.
Orpheus took the toy, looking it over before he had a nod, "Sure, does she have a name?" He asked.
The pangolin shook her head, then held up her doll and waved its arm at the one Orpheus was hold, "Hello, hello!" She said with a giggle.
The teacher gave a smile and mimicked the action, "Hello there, I am Orpheus...a." He said, hastily adding an 'a' at the end of the name to make it sound somewhat like a girl's name. He'd never played dolls before and was a little rusty on his doll skills it would seem, "I came with Mr. Orpheus to visit you."
The girl gave a soft giggle, looking at the doll then up at Orpheus, "To visit me?" She asked, curiously.
Both Orpheus and Orpheusa nodded in time, "We came to see if you wanted to go home with Orpheus, to live with him and his sons." 'Orpheusa said to the pangolin.
The girl's mouth dropped open, showing her surprise at the idea of getting to go home with someone like this, "Would... Mr. Orpheus be... my Daddy?" She whispered to Orpheusa in a hushed but hopeful tone.
The doll nodded again.
"W-Woah... Can I really?" She asked, looking up at Orpheus, her eyes looking more hopeful and a little damp. She wasn't getting teary from sadness, in fact just the opposite... she was happy, she was gonna have a Daddy! Wait... "Sons... Brothers...?" She asked when it clicked into her head what had been said to her.
Orpheus nodded, "Yes, two older brothers." He told her with a smile, "If you want to come along that is."
She dropped the doll, getting hurriedly to her feet and threw herself into his arms and clung to him, "Yes! Yes, please." She said, hugging him tightly gazing up at him with those lavender eyes that had him completely undone.
He smiled, setting 'Orpheusa' down and wrapped his arms around her while he rose to his feet, "Alright, lets head home then." He murmured, looking over at the Lab Tech that was looking on before giving her a nod, "Thank you for calling me." He said before heading back toward where the apartments were located.
The girl was snuggled against his chest, hands clutching onto his chest, and her head was rested against his chest listening to his heart beat, "She said I would get a family." The girl murmured, eye sinking closed as the sound of her new Daddy's heart beat started to lull her into sleep.
Orpheus looked down at her and then smiled, the Lab Tech must have told her that someone would take her in he thought as the entered the elevator and a moment later the doors were closing behind them.

Meeting the Brothers
"What the hell?!" It was the first words to escape from either of the two teenagers, Ter who moved a lot faster in his response time then his older brother. The other could only stare for the moment. Both had been introduced to the little girl that was sitting down on the couch watching them with wide lavender eyes, eyes that got far wider at the word 'hell'.
"Ah! H-He said hell..." She breathed, sounding in shock as though those words weren't supposed to be said by anyone and most definitely not by younger people!
Ter's eyes narrowed as he turned to look at the girl, "And you just said hell as well." He informed her.
She starred up at Ter and then squeaked, hands covering her mouth in shock when it was pointed out to her that she said the bad word as well. She hadn't meant to said it. She turned her worried eyes to look at her new Daddy as though he were afriad that the mere fact that she had said such a bad word would upset him.
"Ter! Do you see what your teaching her already?" Ligeia squeaked, his dark eyes going wide before he moved to kneel down in front of the little sister that had come into their family suddenly and yet he was already smitten. The idea of having a little sibling that was sweet and cute easily winning him over, "Hello there, my name is Ligeia."
Purple eyes went from worried to soft when she looked at her pretty, oldest brother and reached out to run a fingertip over the freckles on his cheek, "My name is... Ma... Mar..." She looked over at Orpheus for help.
"Maria." He told her, giving her a soft smile. The children were given asigned numbers, Ligeia for example was AV01. As such she had been in need of a true name, the one he'd picked for her was Maria, it meant 'beloved' or 'loved' a name he thought would be perfect for her, to show that she was truly wanted by the family, "Don't mind Ter, he has a bit of... a colorful vocabulary." He glanced over at the snake boy.
Ter gave a snort then a shrug, "Pft, not like anyone cares if I say a curse here or there." He said then looked at Maria, "You should remember that too, our Dad doesn't care."
"Ter!" Ligeia squeaked again, "Don't listen to him."
Maria couldn't help but stare at her brothers in rapt fascination, they were... not at all what she expected when she heard she was getting a pair of brothers. She wasn't exactly sure what she had been thinking she would get but not this... not that they were bad, they were very, very interesting. She couldn't help but like them both. The one with the scales that was called 'Ter' seemed to be so... daring! While Ligeia was so gentle and pretty and made her want to hug him, she couldn't help but clap her little hands in a delighted manner completely awed.
As Ter and Ligeia spoke to one another about who their sister should or shouldn't listen to her purple eyes turned to look over at the other two figures in the room, ones that seemed to fill the place. There was a large blue one with four legs, two wings, shiny scales, and a fluffy mane while the other was a brown similar to her own scales, two legs, two wings, and a lot of spines! The answer came to her in a snap, "Dragons." She breathed, turning on the couch and climbed up onto the back of the couch where she could get a better look at the pair. She knew dragons, she seen one of them before a luminous silver scaled beauty with shining golden eyes.
Both Vorel and Baroness turned their heads to look at the little girl, starring at her... they seemed to understand that this girl was different then some of the other students. This one wasn't here for a visit, wasn't here for a class... she was staying and both were a bit curious about her appearance.
The little girl turned to look up at her Daddy and two brothers with wide, hopeful eyes before she turned to point at the dragons, "Please?" She murmured to them, wanting to meet the two dragons.

Helping to ColorBoth Ligeia and Ter recognized the pictures when they saw them sitting on the coffee table along with a large box of crayons for Maria. They had both, once upon a time ago, done the same papers, colored in the same numbers and letters to help them to learn their ABCs and 123s, it was because of this that both of them ended up drifting over to watch the process. Ter coiled up in front of of the coffee table while Ligeia sat down on the couch. Maria looked up from her coloring and then picked up the paper she was working to show it to them, "The 'S' has a snake on it like you Teri!" She said, her long tail curling and uncurling in delight. She set it down then held up the paper that she hadn't started on yet, "And Li is on the numbers paper, see? Owl!" She sounded so excited that both of her brothers were so famous that they were on her coloring papers! Ter gave a little laugh, "Yeah, what do know. Colored like me too." He said, looking at how she had done the snake brown despite a lot of the other things on the pages she'd done so far being pinks and purples. "Yep, yep." She chirped then tapped the owl, "Gonna leave this white so looks like Li." She explained to her doting over brothers, wanting them to know about her plan so they didn't think she skipped the owl when she got to the numbers page. Ligeia gave a little smile, "Nice job so far." He said, she was trying her hardest to stay in the lines though it seemed the crayons got away from her here and there, not bad for someone her age though. "Yeah, your quite the artist." Ter added, not about to get beaten by Ligeia even in the world of compliments. Ligeia looked over at him for a long moment, guessing what he was up to but didn't rise to his challenge. "Mmm... ok! Done." Maria said happily, setting the second letters page next to the first and she looked them over for a long moment, "Can't color Z... Zebras are supposed ta be white n black." She told her brothers before she looked her crayons over, picking up a well loved and often used pink and started to color the numbers. "You really like pink, huh?" Ter asked, finding the color to be a bit girly but... to call Maria girly wouldn't have the same effect as it did when he called Ligeia girly. Maria nodded, "My favoritest color is Pink... or Purple..." She looked over at purple and traded the pink she was using for it. She didn't know yet which was her MOST favorite, didn't think she could decide between them since they were both so pretty! "What is Teri and Li's favoritests?" She asked, not looking up, intently coloring one of the numbers. "Dark red for me." Ter said, giving a smile, "Or a certain shade of green that is on my girlfriend." The end of his tail twitched in delight at the thought of Z. Maria smiled, "And Li?" "Blue." He said, "Though I guess there is a color of purple I like too." The color of the scarf that Chath had gotten for him a long while ago. At the thought of the newt he started to fiddle with the silver bracelet he was once again wearing. Maria paused looking at first Ter then Ligeia and gave a little giggle, "Thinking of Z and Chat?" She asked, knowing the dreamy looks for what they were, having seen them many times before and she'd asked about them on a couple of occasions. The two blinked and shook their heads to clear their thoughts, "Ahhh... yeah." Both said in unison then looked down at the picture in front of their sister, wanting to see what she was up to and to get their minds off their significant others. For the moment their attention was supposed to belong to their baby sister after all. "Almost done! Wanna show then to Daddy when I am." She said, continuing to color as though nothing were unusual, quite used to her brothers in all of their moods both good and bad by now... though she preferred them as they were now, happy as opposed to the times they argued... usually about the most silly things... Despite their liking to argue though she knew that they loved each other and they loved Daddy, and they loved her, and they loved their dragons so she was happy and content.

News And...
It was something that had been decided on a long while ago, put into the planning stages, and only finally seemed as though it were going to go into effect. Orpheus couldn't help but smile as he looked down at the piece of paper in his hand. It was only good news. The plot of land that he'd been looking into, one that wasn't to far from D-Corp by car or dragon, was his. Not only that but work could start immediately on the floor plans that he'd designed with the help of a contractor.
A small, two bedroom place was just not big enough for himself, three kids, two dragons, and a future third dragon... not to mention that Maria was a girl and as such needed her own room. The idea of Ligeia and Ter sharing a room wasn't going to fly... they were far to different not only in personality but in every way. Even something as simple as temperature... Ter's room was always hot and Geia's was closer to an ice box... there was no way he could request the share a room even for a short amount of time. He moved away from his desk over to where Maria was sitting. Cartoons were on the television though she didn't seem at all interested in them, instead she was flipping through a book she'd borrowed from Ligeia about dragons.
She could pick out certain words already, small ones mostly along with ones that showed up a lot like 'dragon'. She was a smart little girl and quite devoted her both of her older siblings despite everything. Ter was always trying to win her over to his side but telling her that Ligeia was 'to girly' never seemed to work in his favor given she liked girly things herself. While Ligeia didn't really try as hard to turn her against Ter he did do his best to keep Ter from trying to get her in trouble... not that Orpheus could ever be mad at her. Of course when it came down to it he even had trouble being mad at Ter and that boy could try the patience of a Saint...
"Good book?" He asked as he sat down next to his daughter who was studying each picture in a manner that seemed quite studious for one her age.
She lifted her head after a long pause before giving a nod, "Yes, I like it." She chirped, finding this to be one of the best books when it came to the art work inside of each of the types of dragons. At the same time though she had still been unable to figure out what sort of dragon 'her dragon' was. She looked like the Silver dragons in the book but at the same time the eye color wasn't right...
"Do all Silver dragons have silver eyes?" She asked of her Daddy.
He blinked a couple times before giving a little shrug, "I'm not sure on that one. Peri might be able to tell you though."
"Peri?" She asked, head tilting to one side in a thoughtful manner. It wasn't a name she was familiar with...
"He's one of the other teachers, he teaches his students about their dragons and the dragons about themselves." He explained.
Maria gave a little smile, "Alright, should ask Peri." She agreed before turning back to the careful studying of her book. Surely this 'Peri' should know all about her dragon then? He would be able to tell Maria about her and tell her when she would be able to have her dragon like Ligeia and Ter had theirs. She smiled a bit at the thought, she would have to do her best to find Peri and soon.

Maria and Baroness
There were only two people in the world that were able to go about touching Baroness to their hearts content. One of those people was of course Ter because he was her partner, the one that brought her food, allowed her to get away with everything up to and including murder if you counted in all the small animals she'd eaten in her time, and he brought her shinnies for her growing horde. Of late though there was a second person that had come to do what few others in the world could do... that was Maria. Baroness gave a huffing sound as she glanced over her shoulder to where the small, Pangolin child was climbing along the Wyvern's back, using her spines as hand holds. She wasn't sure why but she never felt the urge to bite the child, never felt the desire to knock her down, just... let her do as she wanted. It was strange, sure Vorel let people climb all over him all day long but Baroness saw herself as something special and not a jungle gym for every damn child that wanted to use her as such. Around Maria she felt at peace though in a strange manner that she felt only after a successful hunt or a large meal that left her belly swollen to the point she didn't want to move.
What a weird little child... that she didn't mind at all being used at a climbing toy was as confusing as anything. She watched as the path the girl was taking headed down her tail and Baroness lifted it up and curled it at the end knowing game it was that Maria was wanting to play. It was actually... amusing to behold watching the girl use her own tail to hang upside down off of the wyvern's tail. She found herself wondering if that was why it didn't bother her as much having Maria climb all over her, the fact that the girl had the same brown scales that bother Ter and Baroness herself had. Maybe it was because they were in a few ways similar that she liked her? It didn't explain the peaceful feeling though... and it wouldn't and couldn't be chalked up to any desire for children of her own as Baroness felt no desire for such a thing... Hell would freeze over and Ligeia would become a buff man before that sort of thing happened.
The Wyvern set to swinging her tail from side to side after Maria set to hanging upside down from as per how the game was supposed to be played.
"Yay! Yay! Your the bestest Wyvern ever Baroness!" Maria squealed, clapping her hands in a delight manner as she hung upside down by her tail while swinging to and fro.
It was on the tip of Baroness's tongue to say that she was no doubt the only wyvern the other had ever met but decided against it after all the girl had called her the best of the Wyvern so in case there were others out there somewhere they were out of luck. The dragoness gave a hissing chuckle, sharp teeth showing her delight.
Maria kept swinging forward and back until she grew bored with the game and then reached up to catch hold of the Wyvern's spines on the tail to pull herself back up onto the top of it and started to make her way along Baroness's back once more, heading toward her head, "I tell you, I'm gonna get you a BeDazzler Baroness." The little girl told her, recalling a past conversation she'd had with her friend Ryan.
The wyvern turned to look at the child that was approaching her head along her back, moving through her spines as though they were for a slalom and gave her a rather curious look, "BeDazzler?" She asked in her rough voice, not often speaking English unless she really wanted something or saw something as curious enough to ask about it.
Maria nodded then came to sit down on the dragon's back between two of the tall spines and gave Baroness's back a pat, "Yep, Ryan says its for clipping shiny things to other things." She explained in a child's manner.
Despite the explanation being rather simple it caused the Wyvern no end to her curiosity as to how it would work, if it would be able to work on her scales, and how one went about getting a 'BeDazzler' right away. She wanted one of them, badly! The idea that the Pangolin was going to get her one of them caused the Wyvern's tail to lash behind her in a delighted fashion, oh yes... she was most definitely her favorite person next to Ter she decided. Anyone that gave her shinnies was a wonderful person in her book.
The little girl reached a hand out to pat Baroness on the head, "Pretty Baroness." She chirped before looking around the room, "Can go for a ride, Baroness? To the vending machines? We can get snacks!"
Baroness seemed to debate over this for only a moment before giving a nod and pushed up to her feet, nobody would notice if they were gone for a short time fetching sweets she decided as she headed off leaving Ter behind as he watched television seemingly oblivious for the moment to the fact that the dragon had left taking the little girl with her. It was snack time and there was no time for explanations that would make it take longer to get the treats after all.

Blue Prints Arrive
Orpheus was smiling brightly as he walked into the small apartment that he shared with his two sons, one daughter, and two dragons. He had an envelope in his hands that was a long time in coming, good news from those out there had finally delivered. He had the letter saying that the house had built for his family not to far from the D-Corp Facility was finally finished. He moved to sit down on beat up couch that had seen much use since he'd taken up sleeping on it after he'd adopted Ter and took out the plans that came along with the letter. He spread them out on the coffee table, running his fingers over it in an interested manner before his eyes fell upon a room that he couldn't help but smile over, "Master Bedroom." He murmured to himself, grinning.
A room that was all his own, one where he would be able to have a bed of his own, a bathroom he didn't have to share with three other people. He couldn't help but grin. He looked the rest of it over before he turned to look over his shoulder down the small hallway that led to where his three children were hanging out, "Ligeia, Terpsichore, Maria! Come here please!" He called down the hallway.
Maria was the first to arrive, coming rushing out of Ligeia's room at a dead run and gave a jump and landed on the back of the couch, she scrambled for a moment before plopping down next to her Father, "Hello, hello." She chirped up at him, looking pleased that she had won the race to be the first one to her father though it was only a race in her mind now that she had already won it.
Ligeia was the next to arrive with Vorel following after him, both of them coming to stand behind the couch, and a moment after that Ter slithered into the room with a none to please Baroness following after as she didn't really like the idea of being cramped in the room with the rest of the family. The owl boy moved to sit down on the back of the couch, perching there to look at what their father was looking at in such an interested manner before his dark eyes went wide.
"Dad... are those blue prints?" He asked.
Ter slithered forward quickly, hands on the back of the couch to look at it before he slithered over the back of it and to the coffee table. He looked it over before a grin spread over his lips, "Look at this place, damn... you thinking about buying it?" The cobra asked, looking over at his father with a rather hopeful look on his face.
Maria set to giggling, giving her brother a little push with her hands, "Hehe, you said damn Ter!" She told him.
Ter rolled his eyes, "So did you just now."
She gave a little 'eep' sound, her hands lifting up to cover her mouth with them before she looked up at her Father but he didn't seem all that concerned, no doubt having to hear Ter's mouth constantly run away from him with random curses and none to brilliant statements. When it appeared she wasn't going to get in trouble she climbed up her brother's back to look over his shoulder, "We are gonna live in there?" She asked.
Orpheus gave a nod, laughing a bit, "Yes. In fact the place is ready for us. We will need to move our stuff there, probably get some more furniture to fill it out but yes. That is our new home." He said, running a hand over the blue prints, "Its not to terribly far from here and we can all still get there easily enough. I just knew that we are a bit crowded and none of you are getting any smaller."
Ter gave a hissing sound and a nod, "No joke." He murmured, looking the blue prints over closely to inspect them. Lots of rooms, big kitchen, lots of bathrooms, lots of room to stretch out and for the dragons to be able to lounge about... he couldn't imagine staying in this place after Maria got her dracling he thought to himself before looking over at Orpheus, "So, when we moving?"
"As soon as we get packed we can start bringing stuff over. Between my car and the dragons I don't think it will take to long."
Baroness gave a huffing sound as she found herself given such a task, she had to help to move?! She gave a growling sound until she looked over at Ter who was shaking his head, "If you help out there will be plenty of room for us and you will have a bigger place to hide your horde if these plans are to be believed."
She perked up a bit at this, a bigger place for her horde? That meant being able to have a bigger horde if there was more space to fill. She gave a nod of her head to show that she would in fact help out if it were for such a good cause.
Vorel on the other hand had just nodded his head when he was told that he would be helping to move tail wagging, a smile on his face. Anything that made his owl as happy as he looked was good by him he thought and he would do anything to help so long as it meant he remained that happy. He leaned over to catch hold of a lock of his hair, chewing lightly on it.
Orpheus rose to his feet, "Alright, lets go and find some boxes and get to work packing." He told the five that were gathered around him. There were a lot of nods before they were heading out of the small apartment as a group.

A Moment on the Phone
"Come on you lard a**...." Came the growling voice of a praying mantis girl as she walked along the side walk briskly. Her green dragon Hinder was keeping up with her pace easily but he kept spreading his wings out to cow/impress or scare the people around.
~I offered to carry you...~
"Oh shush up you bit lout. I don't need to be carried..."
~Then stop complaining.~
"Listen you, I haven't seen Ter in a while we've both been busy so I do.."
~Horny thing aren't you?~ Interrupted the dragon with a amused chuckle, Zyan didn't even pause even if her face colored slightly.
"Oh shut it. Don't tell me you weren't eager to see Baroness, you were preening for a half an hour..."
~One should be clean when greeting my Queen..~ He replied with sarcasm. He didn't actually view the wyvern as his queen but it played out well with winning her favor.
The mantis girl only rolled her eyes and kept going, "And so what if I am? We are old enough to do what we want right?" She snorted as she flipped out her cell phone re-reading the address she had imputed in it. She looked up and nodded her head as she looked at the house numbers figuring they were heading the right way.
The numbers on the houses seemed to be going in the right direction, moving ever farther East, growing higher as they went with the even numbers on one side of the street and the odd on the other... but as they got to where the number that Ter had sent to her should be it was just... not there. In fact it seemed to be at the edge of the town they pair were at suggesting that they were in fact going in the right direction but the road ahead was one that would lead normally toward where D-Corp was located. Ter had failed to mention along with the address and somewhat spotty directions where the house was built... or that his Father had had the house built from scratch outside of the town borders to make it easier since well they were going to have three dragons living there at some point.
Zyanya looked around her irritation growing as suddenly the house number seemed to just...not exist.
"What the ********.." she cursed as she clicked her phone closed and then reopened it pressing 1 for speed dial to Ter's house. She'd get down to the bottom of this...
~I wonder if I should fly around...perhaps I can spot my queen..~
"NO." Snapped the girl, "Besides you haven't learned how to fly yet so don't push your luck. Stay put." She growled the last part as she listened tot he phone ring on the other end.
The phone rang... and it rang and rang before it was picked up and a cheer female voice chirped into it, "Hello, hello!" She said, wondering who was calling, maybe it was Daddy's work again? Thinking that might be it she abandon the couch and her Gwee Movie DVD to head in that direction, dodging around through the Labyrinth of boxes and new furniture that was bought to fill the new, spacious house that they had all moved into.
Zyan stiffened as a young girls voice picked up the line.
"Ehh...the ********?" She muttered checking her phone and yes it had dialed the right number.
"Who is this?" She demanded having forgotten that Ter had a younger sibling...she had never met the young girl before so it had slipped her mind.
There was a gasping sound follow by giggles before the girl whispered, "You said a bad word." She said quietly, sounding as though she were more amused then scandalized given her brother had a fairly colorful language himself, "My name is Maria Solon, who is calling?"
Maria? Zyan had started pacing as she heard the girl giggle and then introduce herself. She felt antsy now...stupidly feeling anger and jealousy rise from the sound of a little girl...it was pathetic.
"O...kay then...you know if Ter is around?"
Maria nodded, not that it was something that could be seen through a phone though, "Yep, he is in his room." She said, approaching the door where loud music could easily be heard, "One second." She handed the phone off to her tail before she started to bang her small hand against the door, "Ter! Phone is for you! TER! ... Terpsi-CHORE!"
The music went off and the door came swinging open, "I have told you a hundred damn times not to call me that name!" He said, hating his name greatly given where he found it was from. He gave his best glare though it would appear to be failing at the moment since Maria just gazed up at him with big, lavender eyes full of amusement.
"She says bad words too." Maria informed him, lifting her tail up to hand off the phone to him, "Tells her I said bye! Gonna go watch the Gwee Movie more." With that the little pangolin turned on her heel to started back through the maze to where her movie awaited.

Meeting a Gwee
(( Done via AIM with Jay ))
Maria was a bit oblivious to some things, like her brother and his company... she hadn't even seen either come in due to being so engrossed in her movie. There was something that did catch her hear though, causing her to turned to look toward the door that led to Baroness's deck. Was... was the wyvern talking to herself? The idea made the little pangolin giggle before she slid off the couch, tail wrapped around the gwee doll that her father got her and that she drug around everywhere as a surrogate until she got to meet 'her dragon' again and finally got to bring her home.
She lifted her hands up to catch hold of the door knob, turning it, then pulled it up. She peeked out and her lavender eyes went as wide as saucers, "Oh... Oh!" She sounded quite shocked as she pushed open the screen door and ran out onto the porch, padding across it bare foot as she approached the green that was there and she gave a squeal, "OH! I love you, Gwee!" She said, reaching over to get her doll and held it up to show the dragon, as though to prove she was his biggest fan! What luck that she would get to meet him in real life!
They had just been sitting in the sun, after all he hadn't gotten to be alone with Baroness for ...well a while now. And he was getting a bit bored with the queen this queen that sayings. He had never been so startled or..pleased to suddenly have a distraction which came in the form of a little girl come up to him proclaim her love for him...okay so she got his name wrong; he had no idea who this Gweee dragon was, but hey he'd take praise and worship where he could get it.
Dipping his head down low he eye'd the small girl giving a chortle. He then raised his head and puffed out his chest a bit letting his wings spread out for show.
The girl gave a squealing sound, dropping her doll so that she could reach out to touch him, "Ohhh, you are so pretty! And much bigger then I thought you would be." She said in delight, she hadn't noticed how formidable Gwee really was until she met him face to face and now she was even more adoring of the dragon that she always watched on the television, "I watch all of your movie! And... and I have my Gwee doll, and some toys! Oh! And my hat too!" She said, holding up a hand to list off her things on her fingers to him.
Baroness was doing her best not to chuckle as Hinder got mistaken for the cutsie dragon from the movies that the girl always watched, giving a little shake of her head. Far, far to amusing she thought and didn't bother to tell Maria that his actual name was something else. It was... odd, she felt no desire to be mean to this one as she had with many others that rat boy Cassi especially.
He gave another chuckling sound as he laid down so that the girl had easy access to pet his large heard.
~Well I am much more impressive in real life.~ He stated playing along with the girls mistake. All the better to manipulate. ~ I am a prince you know, ~ He purred moving his head to nuzzle against the girls chest lightly. He loved...finding someone new to manipulate. he didn't even think about the fact that Baroness may figure this out...
Maria gave a happy sound as she leaned over to hug him tightly, nuzzling against his pretty green scales, "Oh, wow! I didn't know that, really?" A prince! She got to meet a dragon prince, this had to be the best day ever! She must be the luckiest girl in the world there was nothing else to explain why the day had turned out so well, "Do you need anything, Prince Gwee? We have lots and lots of food in the fridge!" She offered him, tail swishing behind her in an excited manner.
Hinder's tail began to swish in delight, ~I am a tad peckish, but call me Hinder, only my most adoring fans call me that.~ He announced trying his best to look regal. The grin on his face was a bit smug but he couldn't help it. He LOVED being adored.
Maria's eyes got wider, if that were possible, as she was told the Gwee's secret name that was only for those that were the most adoring, "Yes, yes! Of course, Hinder!" She chirped then turned around and ran back into the house, her tail grabbing up her doll as she went. There was the sound of her rushing foot steps heading away from them and to where the freezer was located.
Baroness gave a shake of her head before looking over at Hinder, ~ Having fun? You know you will need to keep this up until she figures it out or grows out of her Gwee worship. ~ She told him, tail thumping against the deck. She felt the overwhelming desire to smack him with her barb were he to mess up and make Maria cry, what a strange thought given she rather liked her minion.
Hinder only chortled as his tail continued to swish in a pleased manner. ~Oh...I think I can manage..~ He stated with a nod of his head, after all he had kept up his minion ploy pretty damn well.
~She is a cute kid...for a kid anyway.... I am surprised you tolerate her...~
Baroness gave a dragon's version of a shrug, ~ You have seen her, she is... good at making a dragon happy. Besides there is something calming about her scent, didn't you notice? ~ She wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't since he was so caught up in playing the part of a prince she thought, turning back toward the door when she heard foot steps again though they were much, much slower this time as the girl was carrying stuff with other aside from her doll.
Hmmmm now that Baroness had mentioned it, he suppose she was right. He felt more relaxed ..and able to push the boundaries of his manipulation from the platent minion for Baroness. He wasn't going to admit that though he turned his head as he heard the sound as well. He stood up and then went about trying to open the door to help the young girl. Still fulfilling his role as the princely character he had to be charming right?
Maria gave a smile as the door was opened for her and she stepped out, carrying a pile of white wrapped packages of meat that had been delivered from D-Corp after they moved in, "They bring this for Baroness and Vorel, but we can share with you Hinder." She said, setting the pile down at her feet and picked on up, working on unwrapping it for the green dragon before she held it out to him, "Taste?"
The green was very pleased to find that she brought...not just food by meat. He reached down ever so gently taking the morsel into his mouth before lifting his head up to devour it as...charmingly as he could possibly manage. It tasted great...though he figured he better share else his..minion guise would probably fall through.
~I am touched you would bring me such delicious...we best to share should we not?~ He offered the small girl lowering his head again to look her over. Cute kid....he couldn't help but want to horde her.
"Yes, your probably right." She said, unwrapping the next one and stepped closer to Baroness, lifting the meat up to her.
The wyvern looked over at Hinder for a long moment, sizing him up, and starting to think on how good an actor he really was... and it would seem a useful skill as he had gotten food for them without even having to ask. It was impressive she decided as she leaned over to pluck the meat from Maria gently and swallowed it after spending a moment letting it sit on her tongue to heat up somewhat. It was good food, D-Corp provided only the best it would seem.
The pangolin have a happy squeal, hands clapping as she went back to unwrap more of the food, the next one going to Hinder and the one after that to Baroness.
Hinder was pleased with this development having food unwrapped for him and he ate it pleased with how good it tasted.
~So what of my many deeds have you heard Young one?~ He inquired wondering just WHAT this Gwee character did inhis spare time. This way he could learn and then better enable his act.
Maria gave a happy sound, "Oh! Everything! The best movie is the one where you go and... and you save that princess from the clutches of the scary Coco Kitty!" She said, sounding so excited that she was breathless, "It was a great one! Oh and when you got to meet the mermaid and you go swimming to find the treasure in Lake Gambino! Did you get to keep it after you found it?" She asked curiously, gazing up at him with big eyes.
~ Perhaps you should see about watching all of 'your' movies, Hinder. ~ Baroness teased the Green, trying to imagine him sitting through all of those 'G rated and the moral of the story is' sorts of movies that Maria had a stack of.
Hinder gave a pleased laugh happy that Maria seemed so...smitten with him. ~Keep it? Of course I didn't, I am a prince after all, I gave it to those who needed it.~ He replied trying to make himself sound even better than before.
He gave a look to Baroness that was a bit smug, ~And may I say that Princess was not nearly as pretty as you are my dear lady.~ He offered the flattery as he knew most females...ate it up.
"Wow, that is very nice to you. Baroness would have put it in her collection of pretty things." Maria said, eyes a bit wide as she thought on the possibility that the Green had a great treasure but gave it away to people that needed it. Her eyes went a little wide before she started to giggle over the compliment, "Haha, your funny Hinder."
Baroness blinked and started to laugh as well, ~ The princess was a white called call Kiki, Hinder. ~ She told him, certain now that he should watch 'his' movies now more then ever. Though it was quite amuse to listen to him tell the girl she was prettier then a cat.
He gave a snort as if insulted by Baroness, ~A cat or a girl makes no difference, a princess is a princess...and by far this little girl outshines that other one, she has a pure soul.~ Seriously where did he come up with this drivel? Anyway he thought he covered up the obvious fact that ...apparently he had rescued a white cat named kiki who was..a princess....oh well.
~Anyway they never show my most heroic deeds ...I guess they want to make it kid friendly..~
Maria gasped, taking a step closer to him, "Most heroic? Can you tell me?" She asked in a hushed whisper, as though she didn't want anyone else to hear the story so that it would be special, something that only she knew about Hinder.
Hinder raised his head to its fullest height and then reached out a clawed hand and drew the girl in close to him and allowing her to perch on his other resting arm.
~Of course my dear, but you must be brave...these deeds are a bit scary...~ He warned in a hushed tone his tail still flicking back and forth to have such an entranced audience. ~Have you ever seen ...a Black dragon before?~
Maria settled down on his arm, gazing up at him with complete and open adoration, "Oh course! I can be brave." She said in an eager fashion, wanting nothing more then to be able to hear this story. Her eyes widened already at the question, "Yes, in my book! And Vorel knows of them, Li told me." She told the Green, her tail wrapped around his arm and she leaned in closer so as not to miss a single word.
Hinder looked back and forth as if making sure that no one had snuck up on them before he started his story.
~Yes well blacks are notorious villains...they'd sooner rip you apart than look at you..~ He started wiggling his claws as if to demonstrate, ~Short tempered vile fiends...I once came face to face with one...~ Okay so that was a huge lie...he lived with one for gods sakes.
~He was about ready to eat Princess Kiku...whom I had just rescued the week before...when I came in...it was a very messy fight. Blacks...can spit acid...luckily I am immune to his tricks and villianry...I soon sent that black home yelping for his mother...~
Maria was starring, shocked before the story was over then she was hugging him, "You are so brave! I can't believe you would fight a Black to save Princess... wait, Kiku? Is she a kitty princess too? How many princesses have you save?" She asked, wondering how many he knew, oh he was so lucky to get to meet so many! She wanted to meet princesses too!
Dammit...so he got the name wrong...
~Well I am a prince saving princess's is apart of my job description..~ He quickly replied with a nod of his head and he went to nuzzle the girl more than happy to have a blind devoted follower. NOw only if he could get Baroness to...
It would seem that even the slip of in names hadn't been noticed as his reasoning was sound to the young pangolin, "Wow, you are amazing Prince Hinder." She said as she happily snuggled against him, wanting to stay just like this with her hero for a while.
Baroness gave a shake of her head, it was a strangely cute sight, not that she would admit as much out loud since it sounded like a rather weak thing to mention.
Proud of his achievement of lying blatantly to a little girl and convincing her that he was indeed a prince that rescued damsels he only beamed proudly. He would try to draw it out for as long as possible of course.
~If you ever need rescuing I will do it~ He purred.
Maria gave a happy sound, petting her hand over his smooth, pretty scales before she started to fidget a little, "Ahh... Prince Hinder...? Can I ask you for something?" She asked, sounding a little uncertain, as though asking a hero for something when she was just a little girl that watched his movies might end up insulting him... which was by far the last thing she wanted to do.
Baroness gave a chuckle, ~ Here it comes. ~ She murmured, knowing this question all to well as it had been asked of both her and Vorel already.
He looked at the little girl wondering what she could possible ask for that would make her sound so...unsure of herself. He bent his head to look her in the eye, and then chuckled.
~Yes little princess...?~
"Umm... a.. a scale?" She asked, looking up at him with wide eyes, "I... have one of Vorel's pretty blue ones, and a nice chocolate brown ones from Baroness and... and yours are so nice!" She was saying, sounding a bit rushed in her explaining.
Hinder looked a bit taken aback at the request. She wanted ..one of his scales? He looked down to his green sheen of skin. The idea of giving something like that away.....He had to play the part right? He had to convince her he was the almighty god ******** prince and have her worship him.
He reached up for a scale on his shoulder that was loose anyway he was near to shed so it wasn't really like...he was going to miss it. He tugged at it a bit of blood springing forth after removing it he then balanced it on a claw and brought it down for her to look at. ~Anything for a princess..~
Maria took the scale, gazing at it as though it were some sort of rare and precious gem before she smiled up at him, "Your the best!" She chirped, hugging the pretty scale to her chest in a happy manner. That was three that she had now! Oh but she was so lucky! Her long, armored tail was swishing behind her in a manner that showed just how delighted she was.
~ Very cute, Prince Hinder.~ Baroness said, giving a bit of a chuckle finding this whole situation to be far to to amusing.
Hinder was a bit surprised to hear Baroness utter such words. But he only puffed his chest up in a proud manner his tail still flicking back and forth in an eager manner.
~Anything for the little princess.~ He boasted as if the scale was just that...a scale.
"If you ever need any more snacks tell me and I will get them for you!" Maria said, "I am going to put this with the other scales now, thank you Hinder!" She turned to run toward the door once more pausing as she reached it and looked over her shoulder, "I would like to hear more of your stories sometime!" She told him, smiling happily before disappearing inside to add the emerald scale to her small collection.
