While hanging out in front of the D-Corp building, playing by himself Kliken meets and makes his first friends in Damaris and her Blue Dragon named Red. He had a few moments where he got teary but that was due to his emotions being a little out of whack due to all he has been through and how excited he was over making his first friends.

Third Times a Charm

Lucrecia had written off the first note that had been sent her way as someone sending something to the wrong person, after all who in their right mind would try to set up someone like her with a child? The second note had been a bit of a surprise leading her to believe that the one sending them wasn't exactly in his right mind, and the third one clinched it. She was dealing with someone a bit off in the head... surely he must know that offering a kid to just any of her kind would just lead to said child becoming a midnight snack? She gave a bit of a sigh, blowing her wavey bangs out of her eyes and tossed the note off to the side. It wasn't any of her concern, she couldn't be bothered with the living, she had her own problems to deal with and her group to take care of.

Only problem was after three letters being sent to her about the child it was something that she found herself thinking about. What would it be like to have a child? One that would grow and change, one not suspended in time as her kind were the moment they were turned. A picture of the boy had been sent to her of course, no doubt in an attempt to sway her. Harder to say no when you had to see the face of the one that you were saying no too. She looked over to where the note had landed, the picture was paper clipped to the note and was starring up at her with bright blue eyes.

"I can't do that, what sort of life would you have?" She told the picture, as if she were actually talking to the boy himself.

Besides how could she trust the one sending her the letters? It all seemed a little fishy to her, a company that bio-engineered children who had boy human and animal DNA, children that were going to be partnered up with dragons for some unexplained cause. What was the point behind it? She gave another sigh as she rose to her feet, walking over to where the note was. She looked down at it before kneeling to pick it up, "I can't just decide something like this without thinking hard on it, without consulting the rest of my group." Were she to enter into parenthood of a child from this strange 'D-Corp' she was going to have to talk it over with the rest of her coven, she knew already that two of them would be strongly opposed, those that trusted people the least, two others would be iffy on the idea, and the last one would no doubt want to have him join because back when she was human she had many children and missed being motherly.

Passed that was worrying for the child, who knew what the kid would think of her and the rest of her group? People seemed to always get the worst sort of impression of them from books and movies, not everyone was like Vlad after all. Not everyone went out each night hunting down humans like animals, they had a different way of going about getting their meals. None the less...What would a child think about being raised by a vampire? Surely it wouldn't be the most convenient thing in the world. She wouldn't be able to bring him out to play during the day, they wouldn't get to visit places like the zoo because they were closed after dark, no children would be up at the same time that she and her people were up. What sort of life would that give the child? It would be him hanging out all night with the coven and sleeping all day when everyone else was awake.

She started to pace now, grumbling under her breath about how she shouldn't even be worrying over this. It was a bad idea from all angles, no matter how she thought about it, no matter what she considered it was a bad idea. There was no way that it could work out. She wasn't in the position where she could take in a child!

"Are you alright?" Came a voice behind her, startling her a little as she had been so lost in thought that she hadn't even heard anyone approaching.

"What? Oh!" She lifted a hand to brush her hair back, the other hand hiding the letter and photo behind her back, "I am doing just fine, thinking is all." She said the words in a quick and somewhat defensive sort of way. As such the man that was standing there didn't believe for a moment that everything was find.

"Are you sure? You seem a little frayed around the edges." He told her as he moved away from the doorway to the room and towards her.

Lucrecia gave a sigh and plopped down in her chair, "I'm fine, I don't even know why I am still thinking on this its not something that could work out after all." She told him as she drew the paper out, looking over the photograph again, "Its not meant to be."

The man's dark eyes lowered to the papers she was holding, curious. She'd been receiving letters from time to time that had the same logo on the envelope. Every time she got one she seemed out of sorts for a day or so, whatever they contained was something that was really getting to her, "Is there anything I can do to help? Anything at all?" He asked of her, moving to kneel down in front of her.

"Help me... no I don't think that..." She trailed off, lowering the picture and letter to her lap and her eyes were then studying the one that was kneeling before her. Than was her most loyal familiar she thought to herself, a good man and most importantly he was still human. He could walk in sun light, often ran errands for her during the day... he could bring the boy out for her so that he could do things that normal children did, "Hmm, maybe you can help me actually. So long as the others of the coven allow me to do this."

He tilted his head to the side, "Do what, Mistress?" He asked of her, quite curious now. She was doing something that she had to get permission from the others for? It must be important then. After all she was their leader, she could make decisions on her own and nobody was supposed to question her.

Lucrecia turned the picture around so that Than could look at it, "I am thinking on adopting this child." She told him.

Than was struck speechless, starring at her as if she had been speaking in a foreign language, "Ahh..." He couldn't come up with anything to say so he didn't even try.

Giving a smile the woman reached a hand out to pat Than on the head, "I am sure I will get about the same reaction from everyone else." She told him, "None the less I will ask them about it when we gather next." She rose to her feet and motioned to him, "Come on, there is much I want to look into before I talk to them." After all how as she supposed to get them to even consider it without gathering the needed information about the people she would be getting the child from?

Than rose to his feet and followed her out of the room.

Journal Entry by Kliken

Unsure But...
I'm not shure if its true but I herd whispers. That they ar trying ta get me another pearant. I am a little scared.
Kliken looked down at what he had written wondering if he had all of his words correctly spelled before he looked up from where he was sitting, hiding out in one of the classrooms that had an unlocked door. He wasn't sure how much he liked the idea of a new parent coming to take him in. He wanted parents, yes. He wanted them badly but at the same time he'd already been brought back so maybe times. What if he'd misunderstood? What if they were talking about another kid? He didn't want to get his hopes up only to find out that nobody wanted to take him in. He pulled his long coat around himself, trying to hide himself within it as it was something warm, familiar, and made him feel safe even if it did used to belong to one of the D-Techs.

He laid back on the classroom floor, starring up at the tiled ceiling for a long moment before he allowed himself to relax a little. It was hard not to relax in Miss Kats room, it was so pretty in color and it had all sorts of nice stuffed animals and stuff laying around. He let his notebook that he always carried around with him slid off his chest to land on the floor next to him. Damaris had gotten a new parent that she seemed happy with and Cassi had a nice Mommy with pretty clothing, it made him wonder what his parent might be like that they had found. Would it be a Mommy or a Daddy? Would his parent have pretty clothes? Would his parent love him? Keep him? Hug him and protect him from everything that was scary? Would his parent never leave him alone like he always seemed to be alone? So many questions that couldn't be answered without meeting that person.

He would have to be brave he told himself or he would never to meet them.

Preparations

Kliken was sitting next to his mother, leaning close to her while he watched the men in front of them as they worked. They milled about in a line like so many ants working on the construction and upgrading of the atrium that was connected to his room. It was a slow going process but his mother had assured him that there would be plenty of time between now and when Tural hatched for the construction to be finished, "I bet Tural with like all of this." He murmured, his tone very hopeful.

Lucrecia turned her green eyed gaze her son's way before she nodded, lips turning up into a smile, "I am sure Tural will. We will be putting double doors in to your room so that your dragon can come and go, able to keep you company but still be able to keep an eye on his territory." Something that all predators would appreciate, being able to survey what was theirs any time they wished it, "There will also be a second path that goes under ground and to the outside over there." She pointed to where some of them men were working.

The little leech boy's eyes went wide, "Oh, really? That's neat." He murmured, he knew that his mother and her friends had a severe reaction to sun light, having the path go underground first must be a precaution to keep the light from coming inside.

"I wonder if the Cruzoor will like sun or not... hopefully the path outside will be a sufficient way to get to the sun if Tural desires it." So hard to prepare for the coming of a creature that was such a great mystery. Even the Dragon Master had been at a bit of a loss for what should be prepared, they would just do their best in the time they had with the information they had.

"I can't wait to meet Tural. I have been waiting so long." He murmured, eyes sinking half closed and Lucrecia could feel a wave fo sadness as it enveloped her boy. She blinked a couple times before she wrapped her arms around the boy, pulling him into the safety of her lap as if he weighed nothing.

"You will meet him soon enough, please my Darling... don't fret over the passed, look only to the bright future that you have laid out before you..." She trailed off then gave a bit of a smile, "Well as bright a future as one who roams the night with his family can have that is."

Kliken snuggled against his mother, eyes sinking close as he rested his cheek against the cool skin of her arm, "Sorry... I am just... scared." He whispered, wrapping himself around her tightly, "Scared I will wake up and it will be a dream... that I have no family, no dragon, no friends..." His voice trembled a little bit and his mother engulfed him in a hug.

"I will never let anything bad happen to you my Darling boy, my sweet Kliken. I will protect you just as I protect the rest of the coven, you will be safe with me and I hope you will also be happy. Please, dear one smile for me?"

He gazed up at her, jewel tone eyes a bit wide. Her tone was soft, sincere, and he felt the overwhelming desire to do just as she asked of him. As such he gave her a smile, showing sharp teeth. She leaned over to kiss his forehead, "Good boy, I much prefer when your happy my little angel. How about we leave our friends to their work and we go and get something to eat?"

Kliken nodded, sliding from her lap and rose to his feet. He held his hands out to her then, offering to help her up and she gladly took the help, "Thank you, Mom... I... I am h-happy here. Happy with you a-and the rest of the f-family." He murmured, emotions getting the best of him causing his stutter to show.

"There is no need to thank me Darling, I am so very happy to have you here with us. It was getting a bit lonely here without the presence of someone young, someone who makes us feel young and needed." She took his hand and led the way from the atrium. He would never know how much his presence meant to her or that she needed him as much as he needed her.

Lucrecia
So it was suggested to me to keep a journal and record various things going on in the life of my son. It seems to be something required by D-Corp, as if they are going to come by and ask for the journal or something similarly strange... ah well. I am happy to repeat that despite it being a little difficult at first the coven is starting to come around to the idea of having someone young and living among them. He has energy and youth to him that makes everyone here feel young ago. Its a good feeling.

The atrium has been finished up as well and is fun to go into, it looks natural enough aside from the paths that lead to various places in the room. The pool is good sized, deeper then a normal one, and we were able to stock it with fish of various sorts so the dragon can go fishing. There is a path that goes under ground and outside so the Cruzoor can go in and out as he or she pleases. There are some of those in the coven that dislike this, the idea that there is such an entrance into our home.

I am considering leaving the pathway closed up until the dragon is old enough to defend the atrium as its territory. I suppose that it will depend on how the dragon acts, how strong it is, and whether its a territorial sort. While I want the Cruzoor and Kliken to be able to be able to go out during the day as much as they want I worry for their safety. Maybe when they are older as well they can take care of each other.

Kliken has made a couple of friends so far and I want for him to meet more people his age and older people who can be good influences for as he grows.

I will write more if it comes to me,

Lucrecia
