Order Abandoned (Ellie + ********* style="font-size: 11px">The dog was barking in the garage. It was a sure sign that the cat had returned.
Ellie's parents, were fortunately rather dead sleepers when they finally were knocked out, so the barking of a dog didn't cause anybody to get out of bed and investigate what was going on.
It would someday suck if they had a burglar lurking about, since that burglar would be able to make off with the whole house by the time anybody woke up.
Rather than wait for the cat to weasel her way into the house somehow, the tomboy went out the front door and made her way towards the tailless animal sitting right outside the garage.
"....sup?"
********* fur was frizzed out slightly, and she smelled of garbage at the moment. Truth be told, the Mauvian felt like garbage, so the stench was actually very suiting in her opinion.
"...Do you know Evie's sister?"
It was an odd question, but as Ellie sat down, leaning her back against the garage door, she gave an answer.
"I know of Evie's sister... never met 'er... just heard mention of 'er on occasion..."
There was a long silence (save for the steadily quieter whining sounds of the dog on the other side of the garage door). However, eventually the cat was out with the reason for the question.
"...Evie's sister is a senshi... a chibi senshi..."
The tomboy had never had siblings, or even sibling-like relationships. She considered herself as peers with her friends, not a false-sibling for them to take home with them. So her statement might have seemed flat, but it was completely out of a lack of empathy.
"...oh... that sucks..."
The cat didn't say anything immediately, and didn't seem bothered by the lack of enthusiasm in Ellie's response.
That was what made it evident that ********* wasn't her usual self at the moment.
"...okay... somethin' else is bugging you too... out with it..."
"...Evie just found out that her sister is a senshi... I didn't know... I was just doing what I would do for any senshi in need..." She had to pause and let out a pitiful mewing sound.
"...use yer words..."
"....I just got to witness an ugly fight between siblings... and Evie... I think she just quit the team..."
Ellie's expression seemed to grow rather sharp the moment the cat said the final tidbit. In an indignant tone, she prompted for further explanation with one word.
"What?"
The cat heaved in a huge breath, as if trying to calm herself. "She said she wants to stop powering up... to stop being a senshi. She wants to focus on being a regular girl again. Doesn't want to be what she was in the past, she wants to focus on the present."
Sh*t... of all the times for this to happen...
The blonde turned to look at the evening sky from her less-than-scenic spot in front of her garage. She ran her fingers through her own fluffy hair, ruffling it slightly.
"...what a f*ckin' selfish attitude t'take..." was snorted out at some point. Followed shortly with "....why didn't ya stop her?"
The cat's fur ruffled up more, showing her emotions a bit more than usual. "And how do you expect me to stop her? I can't sit there and make her call out her henshin phrase! It isn't my place to force any senshi to fight. I can only hope to guide them into making the right decisions..."
Curling up into a little ball on the concrete, the cat uttered out "...I failed her..."
The blonde shook her head and rather suddenly picked the small cat up by the scruff of her neck. "Oh no! Yer not gonna do that, *********! Yer not gonna sit there and blame yerself fer somethin' that is soooo blatantly an Evie issue. I don't get th'sister thing... but I don't really care 'bout that. I ain't gonna have ya wallowin' in self-pity because ya think ya f*cked up! So stop it now!"
With that, the tomboy dropped the cat.
After landing solidly upon her four paws, the cat sniffed indignantly at her blonde companion. "Tell me how you really feel, Ellie!" Feeling more desire to keep Anemone company, the feline padded away a bit.
"...either way, I plan to keep close to her, despite her attempt at resignation... I'll keep patrolling near her work place... we'll see what happens..."
Ellie rather sharply watched the cat and waited until she assumed she was by herself.
"...I don't like this..." she murmured out. The cat might have been okay with sitting by and waiting for Evie to change her mind. Ellie, on the other hand, had no plans to wait it out.
She was going to talk to Evie, one way or another.

Something New... Despite her desire to stay close to Evelyn and try to persuade the girl to return to the life of a senshi, ********* knew she shouldn't interfere. Every day she made sure to patrol near the girl's work place, but she didn't linger too long.
Evelyn needed her space.
So instead of sulking about, the manx found herself spending some extra time at HQ. It probably drove Anemone crazy, but the Mauvian needed some time with herself. And the HQ wasn't exactly swamped with others of her kind. They had access, but not too many used it as a hangout.
********* sat on the floor in a much taller form than she usually took, feet poking at something immediately in front of her spot.
It was something that Ida had loaned her, and now the Mauvian was trying to make the cogs in her own head turn. Where as her race was a very intelligent and technologically advanced race, it was not her actual specialty. She could tinker and figure things out, but it would take time.
Her toes touched the edge of the object, gently prying open the top so she could get a better look inside.
If it was simply just electronics, it might have been easier, but there were plants mixed into the whole ordeal, which made it trickier to ********* to figure out.
The cat girl crossed her arms and almost seemed to pout as she glared at the object. Parts of it were withered bits of vine, easily dead portions that had robbed this piece of its functionality. It took a while for the cogs to turn in her mind, but eventually she uttered "...I wonder..."
There were plenty of plants on Earth that were easily still alive. There was a chance she could find a similar plant and substitute it in like a new wire or microchip in a regular computer.
...this could work...
With a smile and a direction to work towards, the Mauvian proceeded to start figuring out where the nearest flower shop was in Destiny City.
She had some "shopping" to do.

Dazzled! It was only on occasion that ********* felt the need to go to the HQ, but every time she went, she would always find a bit of time to tinker. ********* Pi was a one time endeavor, mostly due to the materials needed to create another, but also due to the sensitive nature of the device, it seemed to be far less useful than the original intended purpose.
The Mauvian had never been a true technological wizard, but a tinkerer in comparison to others. Her interests weren't always as invested in the typical devices. ********* devices typically veered towards the playful.
She had fussed gradually for a few months with her current project, and even now she already knew she wouldn't be able to complete the project.
Leaning back in a chair by the computer consoles, she placed her project over the bridge of her nose. She couldn't help but scrunch her nose a bit, not quite used to putting something over her nose.
"...and in other news, be prepared for the biggest meteor shower of the year..."
A pair of ears twitched as the silvery haired Mauvian turned towards one of the monitors. It wasn't the first time she had heard about this, but for some reason, it seemed more significant today. The last time there had been a celestial event, those dreaded Shades had shown up.
********* never considered herself the suspicious sort, but there was something about this meteor shower that seemed to resonate with her. It was hard to articulate, and it was fortunate she didn't actually need to articulate it, due to the lack of company she kept at the HQ. The fur upon her ears were on edge, but she didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
Her nose twitched again, reminding her of what was settled upon her face at the moment. With a subtle sigh, she plucked the device off her nose to give it a look. Holding it out, her green eyes gazed upon the simplistic design of a white mask. The front side seemed like nothing extraordinary. The back, however, seemed to have faint signs of wiring going throughout. There was a small gap towards the center, between the eye-holes. Her fingers traced the hole before she shrugged it off.
"Well... another time I guess..." she mused aloud before she picked her hat up and placed the mask upon her head. The hat was settled back down in place before her form shifted to the familiar tailless feline.
Perhaps she could learn more about these meteors on the streets.
...but it would require a quick snack before anything else! Who could expect a cat to patrol on an empty stomach?
