It wasn't hard to tell, seeing as the Moon was still blocked out. It agitated the tailless Mauvian, and as she patrolled, it was almost like she was a giant fuzzball. Or a moderate sized fuzzball in reality.
However, as she paused for a moment to look at the moon, she couldn't help but shudder slightly. It just wasn't natural!
She continued along her path, cutting through alleyways and squeezing into the small openings under chain-link fences. She had no particular set idea for her patrol this evening, but there was just something telling the Mauvian she needed to keep a careful eye out on the city.
As she managed to pass through an alley behind a local bar, a rather odd feeling hit her. She couldn't quite place her paw upon what the feeling was, but whatever it was had caused her fur to stand even more on end. ********* had to stop for a moment to take a breath. Whatever it was, it almost seemed to suffocate her.
Despite the odd burden, she continued on for a few blocks, seeming to hit a sushi bar (with no ulterior motive).
It was there that the cat saw the most bizarre thing.

********* had to stop and rub a paw over one of her green eyes, as if she needed to rub out the crazy from her eyes. Unfortunately, her efforts did not yield any results. The guardian was familiar with the form which her princess took on occasion. As the Senshi of Rainbows, Sailor Iris' Princess dress was blooming with color.
Yet what she saw before her was a dulled version of what she was used to. The bright yellows were dimmed to greys, and the brilliant golds were now tarnished blacks. Even her skin and hair looked sickly, with her eyes now a charcoal color.
"I-iris...?" she called out uncertainly, attempting to step forward, but found her paws trembling.
The winged figure did not even seem to acknowledge the cat. Instead, the odd monotone figure seemed to be looking down the alleyway and into the sushi bar, as if she was searching for something.
"...Is that you Iris?" Once more she attempted to step forward, but found she couldn't. "Iris this isn't..."
"********* SPECIAL SURPRISE!!!"
Out of the side of her vision, she saw it coming, but was just too stunned at what had happened to really avoid the attack. Her shoulder was hit and soon enough was throbbing. The limb itself seemed to lose some sensitivity, leaving the Mauvian with a very notable limp as she very suddenly began to flee the scene.
A familiar giggling sound seemed to be chasing after her, but ********* tried to block it out. The manx had to move as fast as she could.
She needed to find Iris. This was just not right. Not the Grey Princess, and not the new threat that was pursuing her.
