Garret Reveley

"The Twin Spears of Old"

Profile
▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄

Garret would calmly wait, being fully equipped and ready to leave at a moments notice, to see when this group he planned to tail would be departing. Already two of them had left, seemingly the most eager to go about this whole business. He couldn't help but smile at that. So far there had been no objections to his statement of joining them, though there had been no mentions of accepting his presence either. 'I am committed now, one way or another. So it is irrelevant if there are any dissenters.' He silently reasoned to himself. While he was not particularly looking forward to traveling with a group of this size and knowing none of them, it would be a good excuse not to be relegated to the cafeteria like the other students were. Standing and waiting while there was combat to be had was not something he particularly enjoyed. He preferred to be in the thick of such things than a bystander, regardless of the danger to himself. He would never grow past his limits unless he continued to test himself at any opportunity. He briefly checked himself over while waiting, ensuring his spears were clean and testing how his prior injuries were fairing. The effects of lamb's headbutt thankfully seem to have dissipated with all the time that had passed, and though he still felt the claw wounds on his back he could more easily ignore it if needed. He would not be able to be as acrobatic as he was earlier, as it would likely open the wound again for more bleeding, but it was only something minor thankfully.

It was then that he would notice a change once the other two returned. They no longer seemed quite as cheerful as earlier, and he soon overheard that their mission had been cancelled. Though his face remained with its arrogant smile, inwardly he was disappointed at this turn of events. He had been looking forward to a chance for more combat and it seems he was being denied it after seemingly finding a way to it. Which left him with the predicament of what he should do now. He had been told the people he was searching for were on the assault team, and while it seemed the outskirts team no longer required their assistance he was still unsure of their status. There would likely be wounded from that party, and they would head to the medical tents. 'But that would be assuming that the recipients of the letters would be the wounded ones...' He pondered to himself. He could try asking around more to find out where they were to go, but information on that would likely be spotty and more guesswork than anything. As much as he would prefer to go and find out himself what was going on, he may miss them entirely if they finished before he got there. 'It is better to wait and see what transpires than to go off blindly.' He thought to himself, though he wished he just knew where they were and could fight. He'd already had his duel with the Grimm interrupted by another, and only came here in time to finish off an already dying man, so he felt cheated out of his glory. He needed a suitable replacement, but he also needed to finish his mission.

He would then begin to make his way to the medical tents, taking his time as he did so to survey the current happenings in the courtyard. It seemed everyone was recovering well after Autrox's speech, and most seemed to be heading to the cafeteria or the medical area if they were injured. He had no doubt it would soon clear out of most of the students soon as all the excitement for this spot today seemed to have passed. Disappointing, but he would always have tomorrow if not later tonight to find some excitement. He carefully picked his away around all the fallen debris scattered about, to ensure he would not trip over any for being careless. It was the last thing he would desire to happen and be known for in front of so many others. Arriving outside the medical area, he would glance around once again at the courtyard. Seeing no immediate threats, he would wait by the entrance, occasionally asking the medics on if they knew of any people who had entered matching the descriptions of his targets. For a while there was no news of such whatsoever, as Garret would be leaning against a nearby wall while just gazing at the sky and waiting. With him also deflecting their requests to provide him treatment for his minor wounds, as he did not need any currently and there were far more people who did. Regretting, partially, of not having sought out this assault team himself as he believed he could perhaps catch up to them. A thought would suddenly spring up in Garret's mind. 'Perhaps rather than asking the healers I should look through the patients myself.' He silently thought, knowing the healers were likely overworked and may have forgotten specific patients in trying to care for all of them. Finding the thought to be more appealing than waiting out here where there was a chance the people he was searching for were in doors, he would leave the courtyard and enter into the medical tent, intent to find his targets or at the very least know for certain they haven't arrived and resume his original post outside to await them. 'And if the specific people are not here, but other members of the team, that would provide useful information on their whereabouts. If they survived.' He thought to himself, relatively neutral in his mind. He had seen many deaths in his time, and though it was never a pleasant feeling, he had no chance to help them so in his mind he shouldn't let the thought of such things weigh him down. There was too much that he could've prevented already on it.

Lunia Alexandria Yatomura
"I'll make you all proud of me one day.."

- - - -

Lunia let Charlotte join the group, and let her keep the weapon she had for now just incase they were to need it - it never hurt to be prepared. She checked the messaged again to look at the picture of the other team member, Aaron Taylor, and as she looked up to scan the area for him, there he was standing right beside them. She jumped a little, making herself look a bit silly, and listened to him agreeing to go for food. "Great, let's go then!" she replied, nodding.

Lunia chuckled back at Zylahs statement that it was 'meant to be', maybe it was, who knew? "So it seems, I think we will make a great team" she said, watching Zylah with curiosity, her mind looked like it was going one hundred miles an hour, Lunia wouldn't ask any questions, she had no reason not to trust her.

Turning to Aaron, Lunia lifted her hand up and waved a little, smiling brightly. Inside she was panicking, they had all introduced themselves with their full names, at the risk of ruining something exciting so far she felt she would keep it to herself. "Pleasure to meet you Aaron, I'm Lunia.." she said, looking to the ground as she thought of how she could address her recent outburst to him. "My apologies for what you witnessed earlier, I uh.. I just had a brief moment, we've lost a lot in the past few weeks here, it brought back memories and I guess I just got a bit upset?" she said, trying to somehow justify her weakness earlier. Nobody would want to follow her lead if she couldn't even control her own emotions, she thought of her Father and how disappointed he would be. The Yatomura family were brought up to not show weakness, she was the only child out of her siblings that seemed to let down this rule.

Lunia had got carried away with her thoughts, again. She snapped out of it jusy in time to hear Zylah discussing her previous date that hadn't come to fruition. She laughed along with her, finding her sense of humour a breath of fresh air, "Yes, that does sound like a good plan!" she added, still giggling a little.

She began to walk towards the restaurants in Vale, The streets were full of lovely cuisine.

                              Cherry Woods

Cherry was busy drawing for a very long time. She didn't even see anyone head out but sitting under a tree didn't make it easy to see people. When her scroll goes off, it was a message, she was put on a team with Ivory Maguire, Nova Primrose, Jessica Morrison. Just who were they, had she meet them? she didn't think so. Packing her things up she decides to try to find them. Still, she had no clue where to look so she just chooses a direction and started to walk she'll end up someplace sooner or later.

Lena watched as people began to leave. Pulling out a scroll she downloaded pictures of the fallen she looked to a wall. Measuring it out mentally she began to paint, turning the wall into mural of the fallen. "Perfect..." Twirling her spray guns around and placing thin in holsters. With a nod she left.

Amélie watched as students left. Feeling it was well enough she slung her rifle around. Giving a sigh she began to leave. She didn’t need to be there much longer. With another and final look she left the area to prepare a few lessons.

Aaron Talyor
Hunter in Training x Chief in the Making

Aaron would give him charming smile when the others introduced themselves. Though when Lunia tried to explain the situation about herself earlier he would raise his hand to wave it off. "Oh no need to worry about that. We all have down times. After all without the bad times, we can't enjoy the good times right?" He would reply in a cheery modest tone. The thing was that he didn't need her to explain it all to him. What ever it may have been, time would surely heal it. Though it seemed like right away the girl would cheer up in a moment as she laughed with Zylah about her waffle date being canceled. "Then it sounds like they will be missing out." He chimed in while letting the girls laugh it up. It gave him a random craving for waffles actually and he made a mental note make some tomorrow morning. After all he loved to cook and it would probably be a nice gesture to do so for his team. Though he would of offered to make lunch for them now...but unfortunately he lacked any ingredients. "Ha this is going to be great!" He would say ecstatically as he followed his new team into town.

After greeting Aaron, Luina went on to apologize for her previous incident. Zylah knew exactly which one it was that she was referring to. Zylah had caught the beginning of it, however a few of the Headmaster's words triggered a few things with Zylah, sending a dangerous train of though crashing through her brain, ready to destroy anything in its path. It had brought on Zylah's on little mental break down. Only, other than the one accidentical exclamation that had drawn Luina to her in the first place, her own incident had been much more silent and internal. Lucky for Zylah and anyone witnessing it, she had stopped it before it could turn into much more.

She agreed, stepping forward with them and linking one delicate arm through Luina's and one through Aaron's, as if she had known them for years and not just a fee short moments. "So, my fellow comrades." She started, turning her blue eyes from one side to other to gaze at both of them, giving them a look that suggested she was going to speak of something much more important than the words that actually left her lips. "What sort of food is it we are going to be eating?" Her honeysuckle voice questioned before walking with the two out of the courtyard and heading for the streets if Vale.

To say it had been a shock to run into her old mentor on the streets of Vale was a. It of an understatement and Kendall was nearly certain Rachel had been eqally surprised. It had been so long since she had paid the slightest bit of attention to were she was going. Did it really matter where you were when there was no one out there to care to find you? Even if there was someone out there... because maybe there was just one person. A certain blue-haired individual who held a special place in Kenna's heart... but it didn't matter because Maria was sick. She couldn't bother her with her troubles, least of all when that would only put her dear friend in danger. More so, it would only out her own life at further risk. She was constantly being track. She had to be wary of her every move, constantly looking over her shoulder, always paranoid of seeing an all too familiar mask trailing behind her. A mask that made her blood run cold and the claws hidden in her fingers almost instinctively tensing. The White Crows had already found her once... she wasn't sure she would make it out alive a second time. The one person that had always fought so valiantly to protect her was gone. She had watched it happen. The image had mean painfully etched into her brain, cursed to haunt her for the rest of her days.

                                                  Sensui...

It wasn't that she was not willing to die for Maria. She would gladly give her life for her, time and time again. She owed the girl that much. Hell... she probably deserved it too. But, there were things that she needed to do first. There were promises she had made that she refused to break. She had sworn to avenge Sensui, her mother, her father... and she would. She would defeat Eteria one way or another. It was the one singular thing she was actually sure of any more. Only then would she die willingly... peacefully. It was the only option she had, because she could not truly live with Eteria following her every move, but she could not die either. Slim fingers reached up, slowly trailing along her color and breather her shirt to the maimed flesh that lay hidden beneath. The Crest of the Lioncourts burnt so ruthlessly into her skin. If she died before she put an end to Eteria... it would be because the aforementioned put an end to her. It would not be a pleasant end. She'd meat the same fate as her mother. A lifeless corpse, soul bound to the one person she hated most, forced to fight back against the ones she loved.

A shudder ran through her body as her mind drifted back to that fateful night.

It had happened several months ago... but the memories were just as vivid and vibrant as if it had happened the night prior. Her mothers face controlled by an unseen force. Her blade that very nearly cut her down. Her own inability to fight back against it. The train wreck of emotions that followed, leaving her crippled. She hadn't gotten far before they had tracked her down once more. Dragged back only to watch Sensui be slain before her very eyes. She had escaped... but she hadn't come out of it completely intact. Physical injuries asside, another piece of her died that night. Another piece of her heart ripped off and destroyed so malishly. It seemed there wasn't much left inside her chest now. Just an empty cavern with a few tattered pieces desperately trying to weave themselves back together. It seemed like a futile effort. Every time she patched herself up, bandaged those battered pieces of her heart, her entire world shattered around her once more. In some ways, the emptiness helped. It numbed the pain, if only slightly... but it numbed the good things to. The sparse bits that still remained.

Really she shouldn't have been surprised to find herself back in Vale City. Maybe she hadn't realized it at first, but her subconscious had. After such a traumatic event... she needed the one person that had always been there for her. The one person that had always managed to make her feel better, no matter how big if a mess her life was. She needed Maria... and this was the last place she had seen the girl. It was more than that though... she need to feel safe. She'd spent years wondering alone, never truly feeling secure. She needed a Beacon... a place that had somehow become a safe haven to her, even if it had only lasted a short time. When Rachel found her, it was the equivalent of looking a bloodied corpse in the eye. She hadn't been gentle in words or actions. The were still bruises lingering, even days later. Both those that marked her pale skin and those that had taken a hit at her pride. Kenna grumbled a few select curse words under her breath just at the thought of it, but really... she couldn't be too mad. She'd deserved it... but she'd also needed it. It slapped her out of her solemn stupor... slightly.

So Kenna had cleaned herself up, reapplied at Beacon. Thanks to Rachel she actually got the chance to take the exams again. It was thanks to her own skill that she had managed to be reaccepted. It had been a long time, but real life experience made up for the lack of training and class time. Still... she hadn't realized how truly painful stepping foot back into Beacon Academy would truly be. The moment her boots made contact with the pavement of the familiar courtyard, a plethora of memories flooded her mind. Some of the were pleasant, some were bittersweet, and others were exactly the opposite. Maria was among most of them and with th images of her face came the stinging guilt and retreat the burnt away at her insides... mingled with something else... she missed her so much it hurt. There were other faces too... the rest of her team. A silver haired wolf in particular. A part of her felt she owed him an explanation... another part of her was infuriated by the fact he would automatically assume the worst in her. Sure, they didn't get along even on a good day, but she had thought that in the time she had spent fighting by his side she had merited some level of respect.

The longer she thought on it, the more her blood boiled until her fists clenched into tight little fists at her side and a familiar heat filled her cheeks. She felt hot and frustrated and any momentary relief she had received from seeing the great Academy walls was almost immediately ruined. Washed away with the anger, just like that. Puffing out her cheeks indignantly, she let out a frustrated huff of air and slamming herself down onto the edge of the fountain. In her agitation she had almost forgotten the stream of water flowing behind her. It didn't take long for her to remember as just moments later an unfortunate drop of water splashed onto her hand. "Dammit!" She hissed angrily, swatting at the now empty air in a movement that must have looked ridiculous to anyone watching. Pushing her self to her feet once more, she stomped across the courtyard, getting as fair away from the bubbling fountain as the pavement would allow. Silver eyes slipped close, delicate hands reaching to rub her temples. She let out another irritated sigh before mutterling an indistinguishable string of profanities.

After a moment the steely orbs opened once more, the lion looked significantly less peeved, but eyebrows were still furrowed together, forehead creased. There was something still weighing on her. The exact reason she had not gone to find her precious friend. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out her scroll, swiping through years worth of messages. A bittersweet smile touched her lips, small, barely there, but it was something other than the negativity she had shown thus far. Her eyes lingered on the most recent messages from Maria. The ones informing her that she'd recovered enough to return to Beacon. Kenna had spent days staring at those same messages, not yet to respond. She wanted their meeting to be face to face... it had been so long after all. A digital stream of pixilated words just didn't feel write. It didn't feel like enough to make up for her long a sense. Why then did she hesitated to go to her? Especially when she so longed to be at her side once again. It was simple. In her time away, the years she spent wondering, she had stumbled upon a gruesome sight. One she was almost certain Maria wouldn't know about. Not with the time she had spent isolated in a hospital. Kenna couldn't help but feel to blame... after all, it was her presence that had brought such horrors into Maria's life. Her family was dead by Eteria's hand and Kenna would have to be the one to tell her.

Was she really doing more harm or more good by being a part in this poor girl's life?

Auburn had just finished with some l'light' training. Something she defined as doing something that did not include someone or something attacking her back, but, was by no means light work. Excessive weight lifting and a long jog coupled with sparring a tree to keep her hands up to par in enduring damage. Her hands were wrapped in torn bandages, though, her skin was unmarred and there were no blood stains on the white fabric. She was in a pair of running pants and a supporter with some old but comfortable shoes. She didn't really care that the countless scars along her back and upper arms were drawing stares to her. She was used to it and, to her, being alive was more important than having flawless skin. Besides, there wasn't much she could do about them now.

Entering the courtyard, she jogged to a stop near some shade and began to stretch. She had to stretch before and after every workout. If she didn't take care to stretch, she might risk ripping some of the more sensitive scar tissue on her back. But, she was well-accustomed to how to handle her body and it never happened. At six-foot-three, the horse faunus towered over many of the other students, her ice-cold eyes scanning the area absently. She was a bit on the paranoid side, so, she always kept on her toes. Most were intimidated by her size, the horrific scarring on her back, her gaze, and her rather uncaring attitude. Almost as intimidated as they were by the ease with which she used the giant sword that was her weapon of choice. Again, she wasn't fussed with that. Being left to her own devices suited her just fine. She honestly did not trust people very much. Still, she'd eventually be put on a team. It was a difficult matching for the staff to do apparently as she tended to make most people uneasy and, coupled with her trust issues, made it difficult to match up a team to her that could function well as a unit.

As she finished stretching, she stood, leaning against a tree, and pulled out an apple and a bottle of water from a fanny-pack. She'd need to actually hit the cafeteria soon as she'd been working with her semblance and had burned a ton of calories. But, she wanted to gradually wind down to sitting in the AC. Besides, it was a nice day out. And she probably reeked of sweat. So, probably a shower was in order before settling in for some food. Pulling out her scroll, she ran through the measurements of her training regimen that it had recorded for her and compared it to previous results.

XXXDammit, dammit, DAMMIT. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong, did. She had to go to meetings, so many DAMN meetings. It was all because of what went down in her class. If she hadn't played that damn game with Lancer and bit his finger, she might've been able to keep things more under control. BUT NO. Every time she gets a chance to do something neat, she SCREWED IT UP. Man... It had gotten interesting too. Sure, she almost went and ate Mutton up, but she didn't. She stopped herself and showed a bit of control. It was good too because it seemed that Mutton and her horned brother Mutton 2 were more familiar than she thought. The woman still couldn't place her finger on it exactly, but she knew she had seen those twins somewhere before. Same looks, same eyes, same horns, different gender. It all fit pretty well in memory, but what was the memory of?! She couldn't grasp it, and she hated it! If it wasn't for one certain factor that came to light, and that was Mutton showing her a little barcode tattoo that had been hidden under her hair. The moment she saw that she knew that she couldn't let the girl die, she had far too many answers to the question Rachel didn't even know she had. That damn barcode... It was the exact same one that she had on her when she was traded and sold to the Collector, to Zaffre. It was those damn barcodes that marked them all as property to the slave trade, and those twins were apart of it... That had to be why they felt so familiar. It was only sensible. She had to have met them when she was either in transit or under Zaffre's ownership already.

The crap with the slave trade aside, things fell to pieces in her class. Sure, she managed to send the students to successfully save the kid with a deathwish that rode around in a FLYING coffin. At what cost, though? The rescue squad had brought back a group of elder beowolves, and one of the students that she had sent ended up getting ripped to pieces. ... She couldn't remember anything about her, aside from being the leader of team DOLZ. Just like she said before... She didn't have anything interesting about her, so, the memory was weak in her mind. As odd as it would be, a second student had died as well. The only thing she could really remember about him was the jacket he was wearing, but the kid with the horns ended up taking it. Apparently, he was also a member of team DOLZ, and ended up dying with his leader before the beowolves were successfully taken down or warded off... It was a mess, and she could have prevented it. ... But if she had, then Mutton would've died instead ... There really wasn't any way around the meetings to come, and the loss of lives. One way or another, something terrible was meant to happen. ... At least this way, she might just be able to get some more answers about the man who ruined her life.

There had been one thing that managed to keep her head up all this time though, and that was running into an oh so familiar street rat a few days prior. A woman named Kenna, who was apart of a team that Rachel had been the mentor of back when she first joined Beacon and tried to get on for a teaching position. The faunus was instructed to be a guide for the students, as well as to aid them in their training due to that particular team being extraordinary in skill, despite just coming out of signal. The team was named MAKO, and those little scamps were her pride and joy. It was Rachel's first experience at the academy, and she had high hopes for them. They were destined for greatness and seemed to be a force to be reckoned with. Especially with her at the helm of teaching them personally, it was only a matter of time before they took the academy by storm. ... That was until their leader fell incredibly ill.

After all of that, the lioness had walked right through her door after so many years without contact. After breaking the heart of their team leader even further, who had returned to Beacon again after all this time. The poor thing, she had no idea what awaited her by walking back into the city. Rachel had a few things to tell the young lioness, and she would listen. Just because she hadn't seen the woman since she was a runt didn't mean she was going to take it easy on her. No no, that wasn't the type of woman Rachel was. This was a matter between predatory faunus, as well as between mentor and student. This girl had messed up, big time, and Rachel was going to set her straight. And that she did. Rachel had been relentless in her actions, between her both yelling at her and tussling with her to try and get it through her hollowed head. Alright, Rachel got it. This girl had been through some serious s**t, and it left her messed up. So what? Rachel had been through it all before herself, and she wasn't going to let some sourpuss get away with having a bad attitude just because she was feeling bad about herself and the s**t that happened. What mattered was that she was here in Vale, now of all times, when her former Leader was doing her damn best to try and come back to Beacon in the vaguest hopes to find her lost teammates! Rachel had seen the poor girl that was confined to a wheelchair cry time and time again over the years. For the loss of her friends, for being abandoned, and for the worry of a lion cub who had gone out on her own in a world that wants her dead. In the end, it all boiled down to one thing. Stop being so god damn selfish and stop moping around! They already had the cripple doing that, they didn't need no damn lioncub with a bad attitude making it any worse! No. She didn't have a choice in the matter, not anymore. The girl was coming back to Beacon whether she liked it or not.

Damn though, it had taken a lot out of her. It wasn't the best way to try and prep for her upcoming class, which had now ended in disaster. Maybe it was because her mind was in other places, thinking about the lion cub that had come back after so long. ... Whatever, things were said, things were done... She'd surely have to visit the big bird himself in the office soon enough, but she had too many things to try and get done first. After all... The landshark had her prey in sight. Rachel had a single stop before this moment, and that was just outside the dormitories, where she managed to catch a glimpse of a blue-haired girl with an iridescent shimmer sitting in the window. Her face said it all, she was sad... She was alone, and she was beginning to wonder why she even came back. ... That was it. She had enough of this p***y footing around. These two dropouts needed each other, and she was going to make sure it happened. Rachel would come to an immediate stop, looking upon the lion faunus who seemed to be distracted by something in her hand. It was a sign of weakness, and it wasn't one that Rachel would let her get away with. It was the first lesson she taught the damn team, and that was to always be on their guard. After all... Who knew when a predator was lurking? If they had been engrossed in their phone, watching bugs, or daydreaming. It only took one moment in such an unattentive state, and it would all be over. ... That's exactly what it would be like for the white lioness, who now that Rachel got a closer look at what she was doing, could tell that she was looking at the countless messages from Maria over the years. Sure, Rachel couldn't read well, but she knew how to spell the names of people who mattered to her at some point. ... Did we mention that there was now a goliath statue towering over her, reading the scroll just as she did? A sinister smile would cross Rachel's lips, showing the horrific sight that was her rows of jagged teeth. Just a moment ago, the faunus was freaking at a single drop of water... Now though, a trail of saliva would drip onto her ear... Rachel was drooling with such an open smile, solely because she knew how much Kenna hated getting wet. It was her punishment for being so careless. Off her wrists slipped one of her large, baggy black sleeves.

As the dribble trickled onto Kenna's ear, she would immediately see what appeared to be a shadow coming straight for her face. When in fact, it was Rachel's large sleeve. In one swift motion, the jet black fabric would wrap around her face, her eyes, in particular. It was to make sure she couldn't see her assailant. It all happened so fast, and as the fabric made contact with her face, or tried to, she would feel another immense pressure that tightly constricted across her torso. For a brief moment, if she had struggled valiantly, she would see the arm before her vision went dark. It was an arm of a distinct appearance, no doubt. It was riddled with details that, if she were to search for it again, she would have no issues finding it. The arm itself was much beefier than her own, hardened with muscle. A loose black sleeve identical to the one that draped over her face followed its motion but left her arm unveiled enough to show that it was lined with countless scars that inevitably connected over the years they were acquired. On this assailants wrist, was a large bronze bracelet that seemed to be much more than meet the eye. In fact, countless rattles could be heard within it as it jostled and tightened over her own arms to bind them to her body. The moment she was secured, whether or not her face was covered, Rachel would stand tall to lift her up and fight for her life to keep the girl bound and in place. "Stop movin' you piece of s**t! I'm not afraid to get physical with you!" Rachel would shout with a growl, effortlessly lifting the girl off the ground as she fought tooth and nail to keep the fabric over her face. After all, how was she going to keep the girl surprised if she knew where she was going? There would surely be growling and hissing, as well as a ton of kicking, but that didn't stop Rachel from trying to take a few steps forward. ... Though, the fabric of the sleeve could only take so much before tearing or simply getting ripped off. "You're comin' with me!"

It didn't even occur to her that there might have been other students around, watching such a display. Hopefully they would recognize the teacher for who she was, even if she was getting ... Super physical with a student. It was for a good cause, she swears!

Kenna should have known better. Really, she should have been prepared for something like this. After years spent on the road, constantly on the run, constantly looking over her shoulder, she shouldn't have let her guard drop. Not so easily. It didn't matter that this was Beacon, it didn't matter that she had always felt safe here. Always be alert. Always be ready. It was a lesson she had learned time and time again. Both from past experience and a certain land shark that seemed to keen to quite literally pound it all into her head, along with everything else. There was no telling when Eteria would break. No telling when her deliverance to purge would finally outgrow the need to keep a good family reputation. All this time she thought she would be unreachable at Beacon, but was she really? If she was... how long would that last? Kenna had escaped Eteria's grasp and wrought hell on her plans one too many times. Eventually the woman would grow sick of the same old games. Eventually one of them would have to budge. It was simply a waiting game to see whose stubbornness won out in the end.

All these thoughts swirling around in her head, the messages slowly scrolling by on the digital device in her hand, her brain was much too frazzled. She didn't even notice the shadow encroaching on her until it was much too late.

Wet. The one word was enough to make her skin crawl. The liquid seeped into the fluffy fur of the white ears adorning her head and it was enough to make her body go rigid. "What the f--" It was probably for the best that her sentence was cut off, seeing as the word to follow could not have been considered school appropriate. Another drop of liquid splashing against her hair. It was followed by an indignant hiss. Claws protruding from her fingers, ready to slice open whatever fiend had though it would be funny to get her wet. Her initial thought was that someone had seen her reaction to the water at the fountain and had thought it would be amusing to get a rise out of her. Won't be laughing when I skin you alive. The thought cut through her mind with a ferocity akin to her animalistic nature. Cheeks flushed with an indignant anger, she'd realized her fatal flaw much too late. No one was splashing her or spraying her. No, the liquid matting down the fur was much too warm to be water. Too warm and too sticky. It was something far more repulsive. Saliva.

"Oh, you're going to regret that." She muttered, smoky orbs narrowing as ivory brows knitted furiously over her eyes. She was about to turn on her hell, ready to give the droopy hooligan a piece of her min, when the dark fabric attacked her face, encircling around her and blinding her. Her initial reaction was panic, a sound so unlike her leaving her lips before she could stop it. A small, high-pitched noise resembling that of a shriek. Her heart raced, a dove with wings beating desperately at its cage in some futile effort to escape the cavity of her chest. Her breath was caught in her throat, steel-like gaze staring wide but blinded by the dark mask surrounding her head. Scroll flying from her fingers to lie forgotten on the concrete in her panic, she fought back with everything that she could. Claws slashed violently in front of her, in a desperate attempt to latch on to skin, fabric, anything. She pulled, kicked, struggled in every way she could. They might have taken her by surprise, but she wasn't going to make their job easy for them.

In her struggles, the the fabric slipped away for just a fraction of a moment. Long enough to see a strangely family arm, cuffed with a bronze bracelet. Followed was the voice. Her voice.

It was a voice she would never forget for all the times it had instructed her, lectured her, yelled at her. It was permanently ingrained into her memory. Only then did it click. She was not being captured by the White Crows. No, she was just being abducted by her old mentor. For a moment all of the attempts for escape stopped. It was followed by a momentary silence, but the ballad fists at her side spoke of her true anger. "HOW DARE YOU! YOU SORRY EXCUSE FOR A TEACHER!" She wailed, arms and legs flailing with a new found fury. Her comment was rude, but far from the truth. Even Rachel would now she was only looking to cause pain in her infuriated state. Kenna admired Rachel for the pure and raw strength she held. Her methods may have been a bit unorthodox, but she had taught her more than any of her prior teachers. That wouldn't stop her from aimed a a sharp kick towards the woman's torso... or where she thought her torso might be at least. With the size difference, its not like it really did much good. "DAMN YOU! LET ME GO!" She hissed through her teeth, the volume of her objections doing nothing but making a concerning scene appear even more so.

The kicking and flailing continuing even and Rachel bevan to carry the young lion away. Her strength coupled with the much smaller stature of the white-haired girl made her job entirely too easy. The attempts at easpacpe only grew more indignant and more desperate as time went on. Finally, once the cub had exhausted herself, she let out an angered huff of air and relented, growing still in Rachel's arms. "Where the hell are we going?"

His first class at Beacon had been an entire hurricane of emotions. From the heartful, teary reunion with his sister, to the anxiety of meeting her team and her boyfriend, to the gruesome incident where she had fallen from the sky and he had not been there to catch her. The image still haunted his brain. Her battered body laying in a puddle of red. The blood that had eventually seeped through his jeans and stained his palms. The feeling of feeling helpless, useless, was permanently etched into his soul. The guilt was still eating away at him, burning his insides. It made him feel sick, nauseous. He should have been there. He should have been faster. He should have been able to save her from such a tragic down fall. He had been so close, fingers just inches from her rest. So close, yet so far away. Constantly slipping through his fingers. Just a few seconds ahead of him until that fatal moment her head cracked against the desk. Shuddering slightly at the thought, he ran a hand through his vivid red locks.

It had been lucky Narx had been there and still had enough aura to heal his little sister. Though, not without harm to himself. They were both rushed to the infirmary after that. Asger spent most of his free time there, looking after them and keeping them both company. He was quiet company, but there all the same. It seemed he and Narx were on better terms after their rocky start and he found he enjoyed the rest of Yeam DVNT as well. Granted, he mostly sat quietly back and chuckled at their shenanigans from the sidelines, but they were a fun group. More than anything he was just happy that that his sister had found her place her at Beacon and seemed both comfortable and happy as she excelled. He was happy that in his absence, she had found others to fill her heart and her life. Others to look after her when he couldn't.

There was still a multitude of explaining he needed to do... questions he needed to answer. There was a part of him that wanted nothing more than to explain his sudden disappearance, a part that hoped and wished she could find a way to understand. A way to forgive him. Even if it wasn't entirely his fault, he would never forgive himself for the decisions he'd made that caused the death of his friends and his own capture and the pain hid loss had brought his sister and his family. That was the part that held him back. The shame and the guilt he had locked up deep inside him. However, when the time came he would just have to find away to move past that fear. Now was simply not the time. He had felt it would be too much a burden to bare on her on her condition. Mixed with her concern for Narx, it would only make things worse for her. It could wait, for now.

While most of his time had been spent with Danae and her team, today was the day he was supposed to meet his own team. He had received the message earlier that morning that contained the names and pictures of the other three members. Maybe he should have messaged them, detirmined a place to meet... but Asger still struggled with the social aspect of life. Instead he found himself alone in the courtyard, lounging beneath a tree with a book in hand. However, as fate would has it, it seemed another member of his team had thought to come her. The tall redhead adorned with scars many might be intimidated by. Asger didn't pay them much mind, he had scars of his own. Her height didn't phase him much either. While she may have still had a couple inches on him, he made up for both in density and the massive form of his wings. He wasn't sure if he should say hello. Would that be weird? Instead he settled with a small wave in her direction. Though, he honestly wasn't even sure if she would notice.

Auburn could see minute improvement in the comparisons, though, she knew well enough that it could simply be a subtle variation between them and not really an improvement. But, as long as she was steady about it and wasn't declining, she was content with it. Just then, she noticed a message was left and she swiped to see it, seeing a list of names accompanied by brief summaries and images of three others. Seemed she had a team now. In fact, she recognized one of them was nearby and she looked up to see him wave at her. She looked back at her scroll for a moment.

"Asger. Seventeen, seems you're the striker type? Bow and twin swords? Ability to fly?" She tucked her scroll away and stretched again. "Auburn. Don't have a last name or anything, so, just Auburn. I'll be blunt. I'm not exactly friendly, so, don't take it personally. Let's just leave it at, I've had to learn to take care of myself before considering others. But, I'm honest and reliable. And I know how to handle myself." She looked back at him, in part, to see how he'd take the greeting she gave. "Know anything about the other two by any chance?"

XXXOh man, this was going to be a riot! Rachel could feel Kenna seething in anger from the dribble of drool that now so brightly glistened in her hair. The best part was, Rachel couldn't even take credit for planning that out! Not in the slightest. The shark faunus just had such an odd jaw setup, that whenever she opened her mouth, drool would just dribble if she wasn't too careful. That being said, another drip of saliva would leak from her lips. It was warm, thick, and weighed heavily on the girl's ear. What could be once considered fluffy and adorable would begin to droop and shrink beneath her own saliva, becoming grimy with a shimmer. Rather than fearing or regretting her actions, her excitement would well up from deep inside as the hiss sounded from the tiny frame. Those claws, simply adorable~ This little kitten thought she might be able to catch a fish today, oh how wrong she was. This time, the cat was in the bag.

Cyan hues widened in delight as the most adorable high pitched shriek sounded from the small lioness. It made her skin crawl with a thrill, reminding her so fondly of the good Ol days when this would happen on the weekly, if not daily with the entire team. Rachel was merciless with her training, taunting, and just picking them apart. The woman could only get away with such unorthodox methods of teaching because of the four of them were just as wild and rambunctious as she was. Every day was a new adventure, a new thrill. With these students under her wing, there was never a dull moment. Rachel's hand would firmly grasp the lining fabric to keep it tight around her eyes, but damn... Did this girl know how to struggle. Even if she hadn't grown by much, there was no doubt that this jaded pussycat had grown so much over the years. A few days ago, Rachel couldn't even tell. The girl was a husk, battered and beaten down by life. There wasn't even the faintest glimmer of the girl she once was, not before she was done with her. Rachel gave this lioness the exact same treatment her own mentor gave her the day she escaped the fighting pit. Literally beating the humanity back into her. It seemed like some backward a** nonsense, but... For someone like Rachel, and someone like Kenna. It was a necessity to move forward.

Though Kenna made a terrible mistake with her claws. In the midst of her trashing, she managed to squirm from Rachel's grip just enough to slash her claws along Rachel's forearm. It was sharp, it had a lot of force, and it tore right into her skin before clanging against her bronze bracelet. It was Rachel's fault, for not anticipating such an edgy kitten to use her claws. Such sharp nails managed to cut deep enough in her skin for blood to flow, but Rachel's aura would reflexively spark up to lessen any more unnecessary damage from Kenna who definitely needed to be declawed. The woman's cyan eyes would wince in pain, a faint hiss escaping her lips before clenching her teeth tighter and tighter. At the first whiff of blood, whether her own or someone else's, her muscles would tighten and her eyes would widen. Cyan eyes would flicker from their vivid blue to a deep menacing red, pupils dilating. A surge of strength would erupt from the shark faunus as her semblance, gripping the poor feline with a staggering amount of strength and threatened to crush her in her arms. ... Such a grip may have felt familiar, whether it was from the memories of Rachel, or from falling victim to those things that had been hunting her. Where for a moment the struggle was cute, Rachel would very suddenly assert her dominance in the situation to show just how out of her element the kitten was. After all, now she was angry. And sort of hungry. A terrible mix.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA. Now those were some nasty words coming from such a precious looking kitten. They actually came as a surprise, since the girl had fallen limp in her arms for a moment. Rachel was beginning to wonder if the girl had submitted to her, which seemed far too out of character. The sudden outburst against her teaching was honestly a bit of a relief because disappointment had begun to seep in from the lack of a struggle. "Yeah yeah! I've heard it all before, kitten! OH RACHEL, YOU LET SOMEONE GET HURT. RACHEL RACHEL, DON'T BITE THE KIDS IF THEY SKIP CLASS. RAAAACHEL. THAT KILLS PEOPLE." For some reason, as she howled that response... She had a sudden thought about Llamas in hats. Weird, but they did sound tasty. With how Rachel talked, it was very clear that Kenna's insults fell on deaf ears because she already heard them all the time! How Rachel even became a teacher just showed how desperate of a state Beacon was in, willing to hire such a ruthless thug to teach the children how to fight. Especially with the bandits that invaded not long ago, they needed to be prepared for not just grimm, but humans ... And that's exactly what Rachel excelled at. "Also, you little s**t. THAT HURT." In the midst of the much more violent and aggressive thrashing, Rachel's own blood would begin to drip onto Kenna's arms and shirt. The smell and the texture all too real that she actually managed to snag her mentor, though Rachel was far from being upset. It meant one thing, Kenna had grown. Back in the day, it took the four of them to even try and outmatch Rachel. Her heightened sense of combat against such fresh meat gave her an advantage, but now... Even in the midst of a tussle, one of them could draw blood. How cute, she was actually kind of proud.

As valiantly as Kenna would try to escape her grasp, it was all for not. Struggling, screaming, objecting to every moment of it and even trying to kick her way to freedom. Rachel's own size and strength ensured that all of Kenna's advances to break free would be met in failure, just as it always had. Even after so many years, Kenna was still ages behind Rachel. "HA. You're gonna have to try harder than that, Kitten!" She proclaimed loud and proud, taunting her futile kicks and trashes. It didn't do anything more than exhaust the poor cat more and more, and Rachel was satisfied with how she managed to tame the beast. It took several minutes, she knew that exhaustion was finally washing over the kitten. Movements became less active and more strenuous, the motion in her arms calming, but was accompanied by a low growl. Rachel had won, simple as that. With the cat now exhausted, Rachel would take but a quick moment to make sure the sleeve was tied around her face, ensuring that she couldn't peak. "WELL. Now that you stopped your whining and asked, we're gonna go look at some vegetables!" To Kenna, that statement would most certainly sound more boring than watching paint dry. She was a carnivore, she wanted meat, just like Rachel. Why the hell would they go look at vegetables? When did Beacon even get a garden? ... Well, as far as Rachel knew, there wasn't one. She didn't care about her veggies, junk food, and meat all the way. The vegetable she was referring to was the one that she saw in the window, radiating an aura of sadness. As for why she was a vegetable... Well, she was borderline, right? Close enough for Rachel to make a painful insult, that she may have to avoid saying in front of Maria. Now, without further objections ... Well, actually, even with all the objections. Rachel would throw the girl's tired self right over her shoulder, fastening her in place with her augmented strength before striding off in pride, they had places to be and a sad vegetable to talk to.

XXXWell, the first class at Beacon was certainly a most eventful one. It had begun with an uproar, students slinging insults at each other and a row of desk being thrown. Once the class actually started, things had begun to calm down, and the students were able to get serious with their semblances. Due to her partnership for the class, Yui spent much of her time absent from the rest of the students, including her team. After all, what more could you do if the semblance you were testing was a powerful illusion that seemed to simulate hyperreality? The details were so fine-tuned, down to the grains of sand and the cawing gulls. It was a surreal experience, to not have to create her own mental landscape to distract her. She had Azura for that, and it was wondrous. ... Azura, a woman who was both kind and attentive to detail, as well as incredibly knowledgeable in the matters at hand. The two of them were able to connect fondly and give each other tips and tricks in order to better themselves. For Azura, Yui was able to compare the illusions to psychology, for better means of focus and a possibility of spreading the sensory effects to the other senses. At the manor, she knew her mother had books that could help her, and offered them to her. For Yui, Azura showed her the intricacy that was her weapon and followed up with a lesson of how to wield her scythe most effectively. It was truly stunning to watch the woman wield such a large weapon with grace, moving the cresent blade as if it was an extension of herself ... Something that Yui only got a taste of, before the class had crumbled.

Though in the midst of their training, the course was cut abruptly short due to an unfortunate accident that had occurred with another avian faunus in the room. Apparently, she had tried to fly but just couldn't grasp it. As such, a terrible fate was met with a bloody mess. It pained Yui to cut their brief bonding short, but she took the initiative to help Kail maintain order in the class as certain semblances went crazed, and students got hurt. Once the teaching pair was certain that the students were being cared for properly, Yui would begin to clean up the horrendous mess that was left behind. Not just from the accident, but all the damage that had been done to the room from such a class. One part she was particularly in charge of taking care of was the large patch of ice that had formed, utilizing her fire natured semblance to melt it away so that it would be easier for whoever was in the cleanup crew.

Her duties as an assistant didn't end there, however. In the privacy of Kail's office once again, the two of them would go over the result of the various semblances that occurred within the class. This included the results of accidents and other causes that were in effect. However, one semblance was still inconclusive, until two students stepped in. Eli and Cali, and they were here to make sure that Cali got a passing grade in the class. The assignment initially was to try and not decay anything, to suspend the pestilence she radiated. Unfortunately, the chair that she was particularly assigned to not eat away with her pestilence had crumbled to pieces throughout the class. Until this moment, the two of them thought that Cali hadn't made any progress with her semblance. ... Now they knew why it took so long. After some careful explanation, it boiled down to a very simple concept. Cali had managed to suspend her semblance to have a brief, intimate moment with Eli. It took a lot of courage and must've been well out of the emotional girl's comfort zone, as noticed with her beet red face during the discussion. As for proof, Eli was living proof of it. His body had been riddled with scars of decay, as well as newly found rashes from the most recent moment they were in contact. It seemed that Cali's presence was incredibly dangerous, but Eli would push past everything to be with her. ... It was sweet, much like a storybook. A Prince giving everything to be with his princess, to try and break the curse that plagued her. The only part of his body that she could see untouched by the pestilence was indeed his lips, and after some discussion with Kail... Cali had passed.
[[I may add more here, depending on what Kage says may have happened after class]]

It was the following morning. The sun was high, though spirits seemed to be simmering low. The white avian faunus, the embodiment of elegance, sat with herself mounted atop one of the stunning archways that circled the academy courtyard. How exactly did she get up so high? Well... Her white wings would be the clear answer. Yui sat atop the archway alone, legs crossed one another with her arms resting soundly in her lap. They were sore, muscles strained from the morning she spent carrying around a stack of books... She had managed to gather them from her family manor the night before. In the midst of the act, she found herself regretting her offer to Azura to see about finding some psychology books from her family to let her use. But, that didn't stop her. Once Yui was asked to do something or said she would, it was as if she was bound by a contract to follow it through, even at her own inconvenience. Once she had the books back at Beacon, the poor girl had spent more than an hour in an aimless wander, in the faint hope that she might bump into Azura in passing. After all, she had no idea where she would be able to find the raven-haired girl, not in the slightest. The moment they met, Yui would treat it like a mere coincidence that they had bumped into one another, and offered the girl the stack of books. In reality, though, Yui was prepared to continue to wander the school grounds for the next couple of hours until she could give the books to the girl. ... Living to appease others, even at the cost of herself. It was the way she was raised, the doll of the Lioncourt family.

While it was touching she went through such an effort, holding books for an hour wasn't the only punishment she endured for her kind act. In returning to the manor, she had met an unfortunate fate that was coming across her mother. Actually, it wasn't that she came across her mother, it was that her mother had found her snooping around in the Lioncourt library. The young Lioncourt's presence was not welcomed when it was unannounced like that, and Yui could feel such cold dead eyes piercing her soul. There was no hiding it, Eteria knew. She knew what had been happening at Beacon, and she knew that Yui had stepped out of line in her development. Yui's mask was cracked, and her eyes had a shimmer of hope. Something that Eteria continued to stomp out again and again, but it always came back... Just as that damned cat had always slipped between her fingers. She wasn't having it, not anymore. It was time for something new, a progress of reconditioning. The night was a long one, one that Yui wasn't allowed any sleep. Not that she could, with her mother poking and prodding at her mind the way she did. With cruel words, with harsh acts. No punishment was too much when it came to reconditioning the girl, and now she had to try and make up for lost time. Lost progress. All while she scorned those who had interfered with the development. A loner, a teacher, a student. Those who connected with Yui's heart, those would be the ones who needed to be punished. Not yet of course, but a list was forming. A list for when that day came and Yui would meet the fate of all Lioncourt's.

The night was long and hard, and Yui didn't get a wink of sleep. The only thing that kept her going to deliver the books was adrenaline pumping through her veins, keeping her up and running just so she could finish what she said she would... Though, Azura wouldn't have met the familiar smile that Yui had in class. Not in the slightest. Instead, she would see a near dead gaze of a girl who was pushed to the brink of exhaustion, bags hanging heavily under her eyes. That would bring us to this moment, with Yui sitting on the archway. Her eyelids hung heavy as her hair danced in the breeze, so delicately flowing. In that brief moment, where her hair was up, a new set of marks could be seen. They etched down the back of the neck, precise lines among a cloud of burns, all of which clouded the crest of her family that rested between her shoulder blades. In these brief moments of tranquility, she had nearly forgotten... In a struggle, she managed to pull out a small bottle. Unscrewing the lid, a small tablet would fall into her palm. Cocking her head back just a smidge, she would carefully place the tablet under her tongue and slip the bottle away. Mother had told her that these would ease the pain, both physically from the night and emotionally from the past events of the days. The worry would melt away in her mind, and all that remained was exhaustion.

From her perch, she could see all sorts of things happening in the courtyard, though they mattered very little. At the trees, a red-haired winged faunus like herself was talking with a red-haired woman. She thought the winged faunus looked familiar, possibly from the class she aided in. ... But everything was a blur, and getting worse. A soft sigh escaped her lips as her eyes darted towards the fountain. A gargantuan woman seemed to whisk away a woman with white hair and cat ears, though there was a struggle. ... What was the cause of that, anyway? The faunus had struggled valiantly but in the end... It was all for not, and the larger woman whisked her away. ... But, she dropped something? Or were her eyes playing tricks on her? Tired, fuzzy eyes tried harder to focus on whatever it was that dropped from the two. ... Aside from a few splotches of crimson, it looked like a small device... Perhaps it was her frazzled mind from the exhaustion, but... She wanted to know what it was. Sliding herself forward, the girl would instantly drop from the arch and open her wings, allowing for a graceful glide down to the dropped device. While the glide itself was graceful, the landing was not. Her body was tired, and wouldn't take the abrupt landing well. Her legs would clutch at the moment of impact, and she would stagger against the ground before falling to her knees. "Hnnng..." Yui hissed softly, gently rubbing her now sore legs. They were scraped but didn't manage to land in the already pleasant blood... That was something to be thankful for, apparently. Fingertips lightly picked at the scroll, pulling it into her palm before she struggled to stand on her feet. Dull blue eyes would look down at the scroll, trying to decern who it could've possibly belonged to... All she could manage to find was the name of someone that the person had gotten messages from ... Messages over a long period of time, with no response. Maria... Maria Sinclair... And the person Maria was texting was named.. Kenna? That's who this phone belonged to? .. Well, perhaps the good samaritan that Yui was would have to deliver it to her later, wherever she was.

Carefully, she tucked the scroll into her pocket, before pulling out her own and noticing a message from her team. Where was everyone at, it asked. ... With a few taps of the keyboard, she'd send off a message. Courtyard. Once she finished responding to her team with the vaguest of messages, she would begin stepping towards the fountain. It was large, and the walls of the fountain were thick enough to act as a bench. Therefor, she fits, she sits. Yui didn't even care if the edge of the fountain was wet, she needed to sit down. Once planted, she would begin to stare off into space. The tablet had melted under her mouth, and her exhaustion was beginning to catch up with her. Slowly, she began to doze. Back and forth, her body would sway, trying her best to keep consciousness. ... Though, maybe laying down wouldn't hurt anyone? Carefully, Yui would begin to shift herself to lay against the walls of the fountain, resting her head carefully on her right arm. Blinking slower and slower, finding a sense of tranquility as she listened to the water flow from the fountain.

Ren had left class a bit inebriated, but definitely less inebriated from before... yet he still loved having fun and was cartwheeling himself away before running off. He spent his time hugging random students and unfortunately intoxicating them before he felt his scroll buzzing. He was in the middle of hugging someone when he pulled it out, still hugging them. It wasn't long before they passed out that he finished reading it and ran off to go to the courtyard. He found himself the second one there as he looked around and whistled loudly. "Yui!!!!" He shouted afterwards before he moved his way quickly towards her, trying to hug her.
