"I think the names--and the plaques--are for the sponsors rather than for the students. I mean, I guess we should be grateful that they're donating money for our education, but I wish there was some less disruptive way of showing our appreciation for them. But until we find some way, I guess we'll have to put up with their temper tantrums." Zey agreed with Vaden wholeheartedly on the matter--in zeir experience, some adults could put children to shame.
Zalir sighed. "No, this doesn't seem to be our game." Zey looked around for some game that they hadn't been to next. Zey pointed to the next booth over, in the corner. "Looks like there's a bowling game over there. We could try that, I guess?"
===== The game seemed simple enough--plastic pins were set up on a rubber mat. Players rolled a rubber ball down the mat, trying to knock over the pins. Bowling had never been zeir strong suit however, and the Geist working the stand hid a smile as zeir ball rolled right past the pins without so much as brushing one.
Jacie looked around the party, his interest peaked by the smell of wonderful food. The amount of people at the part didn't bother him, unlike another grimm he knew. He moved to the food table to grab a plate and pile food onto it. He then moved to a place to each and watch the others mingle... using it as his entertainment. People watching was sometime way more fun than playing with Climat, his little stuffed friend. He wasn't surprised to see almost no grimms in the crowd since he had remembered learning that his race was a bit on the uncertain if they still exist side of the spectrum. He growled to himself, he was most certainly still in existence!

He nodded in agreement. "That is really all you can do I'm afraid. Patrons will always want their way whether it's practical or not. They are the most disruptive of all creatures in elite social circles."
Vaden looked over to where Zalir was pointing. "That does look fun." he said and followed them over to it. He watched the other play and tried to figure out if there was a trick.
He kept one eye on the Geist manning the stall, and yes, there was a trick, or perhaps Zalir was just that bad at rolling a rubber ball? Hmm...
"I'd like a try." Vaden said and politely took the ball from Zalir and hefted it, it seemed normal enough...maybe a slight weight disparity on one hemisphere?
He took position and gently rolled it down the aisle.
===================
Vaden watched as the ball veered off as it approached the pins and he frowned. He was fairly certain his toss had been good, but perhaps not.
He glanced over at the Geist and leveled them with a look, but once the ball was returned to him, he passed it back to Zalir. "Throw it a little wide and to the left, I think the weight is off on the right." he said quietly.

"Well, then, I make a vow here and now, in front of witnesses, that if I'm ever rich enough to be a patron, I won't be, um, an a**." Zalir giggled. "Not...sure if I ever will. Um, science and magic are not the fields to enter if you want to get rich. Still got to major in business to do that!"
Zey took the ball and this time zey shifted it from hand to hand, feeling the weight. Hm...it did seem a little...unbalanced. Was this another trick? Was it a Geist thing? Zey'd been told that Geists liked practical jokes. Well...maybe this was just a way of making the game interesting. After all, didn't everyone say that carnival games were rigged? "I think you might be right," zey murmured. "I wonder how they did that? It can't be easy with a commercial ball. Um, the hole to inflate it is a little small to put lead weights in..." Zey glanced nervously at the adult Geist, who was now watching them with one eyebrow artfully raised. "Um, right, uh, time to test your hypothesis, I guess!"
“Sorry we’re late. Yue decided to play a game and then since I apparently did so well at the darts had me when the game. I ended up in the next tier and ended up with this little guy. Here I know you’ve wanted a vespercat for a while and since I’m not at university yet” Morin handed over a little brown and cream vespercat. The group watched as nasai and the cat looked at each other and there was practically instant hearts and cooing/purring from both sides. “Okay… I want my significant others again…. That thing is adorable you lucky jerk” Lerin muttered under her breath and stuck her tongue out at her sister.
Miss again she had, and she was sure that those nightmares were laughing at her. Who else was there to laugh at out here at this point? She had the bad horn and she had just missed the tower of bottles three times! How does one do that?
Trying to keep her emotions in, Candy thanked the person in charge of the game before looking for somewhere else to go that was far enough away from the group of nightmares laughing. She found a game on the opposite side of the fair, a simple grab the right rubber flower as it passed by game. Each one had a number on the bottom, and she could win whatever prize she could if she got the right number. Three tries again, Candy watched them a bit before picking a hot pink flower that caught her eye.

Vaden laughed. "That's the truth, but who knows, maybe you'll make some world shaking discovery some day." he smiled. "I appreciate your oath on not being an a**. I'll be holding you too it."
He watched Zalir heft the ball a bit, the gears in their head obviously putting it together. Vaden nodded just slightly and then watched the Litch toss the ball again at the pins.
Zalir giggled again. "It would be nice to make a big discovery, but not really for the fame. Um, mostly just for the nice knowledge that you figured out something that no one else figured out yet. It would be sort of like...being the first to read a really good book, I think. Only this time, no one minds if you give away the ending. If there is an ending, of course." Zey smiled at Vaden. "Please do hold me to it. Um, I don't want to find out I've changed that much."
Zalir hefted the ball again, building up the courage. Honestly, zey didn't think zey could make such a precise shot, but, um...worth the shot, right? Zey rolled the ball towards the pins, fingers crossed.

"Very nice!"
Zalir opened zeir eyes to see the adult Geist smiling at zem. Zey pointed to a rack of plushies on the wall. Zalir looked down at the pins. They had been knocked over. "You can try again for the possibility of winning a skyfish, or you can take one of the plushies off the wall."
Zalir smiled. "I, um, I'd like the yellow goat plushie, please."
The Geist nodded and handed one of the yellow ones down from the wall. "Sure you don't want to try again?"
Laurel let out a yawn and wiggled his way off the bench. This was no place for him to sleep! He had to find something to wake himself up with! The freshling shook his head, rubbed his eyes, and settled on a concession stand down the path. They had lots of sodas there, sure one of those would wake him up!
"Thank you!" He chirped, tiredly, sipping his soda. "I don't want it to be nap time yet..."
My point tally so far: 200 points (37 + 12 + 15 + 13 + 8 + 2 + 14 + 1 + 18 + 20 + 20 + 19 + 8 + 13 = 200 Forgot to roll: 8/29)

"True." he said with a chuckle. "No one minds in the sciences if you spoil the mystery. Although that might not be entirely true. I suppose there are those would prefer the secrets of the universe to stay that way...means you don't have to look for new jobs." he said with a smirk.
"I don't think fame could ruin you that much. You're too honest. In a good way." He added. He knew some people wouldn't much enjoy being told they were too honest...but to be fair most of those people were Geists, and that was different.
Vaden gave a polite applause. "Nice job, Zalir." he decided since figuring out the trick if he'd be able to win something now. Couldn't hurt after all.
He took the ball again and rolled it down the aisle. Unfortunately he'd over compensated for the weight being off and it rolled harmlessly past the other side of the pins. Vaden huffed, but that was as far as he let his temper flair.
"Let's move on." he suggested before he decided to give the smirking Geist a piece of his mind.
After filling his belly up, Jacie slid off the chair and left his plate. He wondered around for a while before seeing something he liked. He looked to see that others had familiars, grumbling that he didn't have one for himself. He made his way to a booth that had some, looking at the different species. He wondered if they were free?... Or what the catch was. His questions were soon answered as he watched someone win one in a game. He wasn't sure if he wanted to play the game or maybe go back for round two, three and four of the food.... his curiosity won as he decided to check out the game.
so of course Nasai had to fix that, while Lerin had won a plushie or two she did find time to tear her self away from her significant others. So it was with determination that Nasai took a deep breath and started to see what games she would do best at. First two she didnt have any luck on. The third however she managed to shoot three balls into their baskets and was awarded a plushie. she decided to pick the blue vespercat one since Lerin already had a purple. "thanks nasai. You know I was just teasing right" Lerin replied, however she kept a tight hold on her gifted plushie non the less
Nope! That didn't pan out well for her. Turns out the hot pink flower she had picked was a zero. At least that group of nightmares hadn't decided to follow her and see her fail at such a simple game. Now she just had to pick a second flower.
Looking over all the rubber flowers floating by, she then decided to pick a light blue one that she thought was pretty.
Zalir frowned. "I don't think any scientist would do that! You're supposed to share information, because if you don't share information, no one else will ever be able to--" ...Oh. Zey blushed. "Um, yes." Zey smiled. It had taken zem a little longer than zey had liked to figure out that that was a joke. Or rather, a friendly tease. Zey pushed zeir glasses further up zeir nose. "Well, we wouldn't want to be out of a job, would we? And I suppose there are some who would want to keep their knowledge hidden to spite others. Um, you get jerks in every field, I guess."
Zey blushed even further at the complement, and at the applause. And when Vaden failed to hit anything, zey hesitated, then gave him a sympathetic pat on the back. It seemed like the thing to do.
Zey turned to the next book, along the next wall of the room. The next booth over consisted of two long troughs filled with water. Squirt guns were attached to the table such that anyone standing at the front of the booth could shoot down the trough. The Grimm manning the booth looked up hopefully at them, holding up a pair of rubber ducks. "Get the ducks to the other side in five seconds or less, win a prize!" she said.
