While his pokemon choked in the background, Reese was trying hard to focus on what he wanted to do next, which was proving unusually hard. He wanted to chalk it up to lingering effects from the poison, but that just reminded him of what had happened which in turn led to agitation. Why? Reese didn’t really know… or maybe he did, and he just didn’t want to think about it…
He shook it off. Screw that mess. Reese took a moment to rub his face; he was in Nacrene City now and there was another… gym in this place, right? That was the next step on the whole ‘pokemon journey’ business, right? But … he couldn’t focus. Was his team even strong enough to take on the next gym? Who the hell was the gym leader anyways? What types? That was… important to know, right.

Reese felt clueless and while he wasn’t ashamed to admit that much to himself, it didn't stop it from being annoying. So, while he studied up to assure, they didn’t deal with some unnecessarily annoying defeat, he’d found a patchy area of tall grass. He turned to Jaxston and the crew, narrowing a gaze on the grass snake once more. "So," he said and the snake snapped to attention. Good to see he was quickly picking up on who was the boss here. "You’re gonna go out in the grass again and beat s**t up, got me? We’re gonna take the gym here but I don’t want you screwing it up. Got it?" Jaxston deflated a bit. More… fighting? He heard a giggle in the background and flashed Ginger look. While her attention seemed to be on distracting Quixote, the Snivy knew it was directed at him. He heaved a inner side and straightened up, giving an affirmative nod to the young man before turning and all but soldier waltzing into the grass to find something to combat.

Kraven couldn't bring herself to fire back at Klaus' apparent tastes, shaking her head as her companion advised her to stop "feeding the beast." "Alright, alright, I'll reign it in. Just don't expect me to do the same for him." She chuckled at how eagerly Phoenix urged them forward and away from the Zoroark's constant japes. Still, finding a place to take a seat and chow down sounded too good for her to put off any longer, and so they went on their way deeper into the forest.
As she recounted her tale, she knew it would, at least to some degree, be a hard sell to make anyone believe what she was saying. Kraven herself certainly would've been skeptical, but given her experience she couldn't exactly rest on the questioning side. "Most of my knowledge really only came from books too, but it's a little hard to really understand it all until you've been there." She runs her hand along her side as they walk, then a little over her stomach. She didn't feel anything particularly sensitive by this point, but a dull soreness still kept her grip on her side. "I guess if physics doesn't work time is probably just as warped."
While the two seemed at least convinced of the tale, it seemed like one thing continued to stick out to both of them--the suddenness of her entrance. "Something must've been going on with the legendary itself, if I had to guess," she could only guess. "It wasn't just me and a few trainers that were pulled in. There was probably at least one group lying around on any given platform, and I mean, I'm pretty sure exit portals aren't supposed to just be lying around and hanging in the air either... But we can worry about that another time." At the mention of the diner again, Kraven was ready to switch gears and put it behind her. She could feel her stomach grumbling at her for neglect already, and by this point, she would almost hope to put the whole affair behind her now. "I think that sounds pretty great, Phoenix. Lead the way--we can leave the speculation for after we've got full stomachs."

☆ ☆【Phoenix was more than relieved as Kraven agreed to reel back on the joking remarks, and probably for the better. Once Klaus got a roll going it was difficult to shut him up outside of just returning him to his Pokeball. While Phoenix didn’t usually mind it so much, having lived with Klaus at her side for as long as she could remember, the constant stream of bad jokes and terrible puns could get tiresome after an hour or so. Of course, her ebon-haired companion mentioned to not expect her to do the same for the Zoroark. ”Should count yourself lucky that he’s not your responsibility, you haven’t had to put up with him for the past thirteen years,” the redhead remarked with a lightly joking tone, sighing softly and shaking her head as they continued onwards. ”Got no witty comments for any of those, huh?” Phoenix asked when Klaus didn’t say anything for quite some time, having expected him to jump in with some sort of joke right about now. Instead, the Zoroark was remarkably silent, almost uncharacteristically so… Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that his gaze seemed to be fixated ahead of them as if he was staring at something in the far distance. Yet he seemed very unfocused, as if he was in some sort of trance… which was very odd since he hadn’t been acting like this before. ”Hey, are you doing alright?” Phoenix asked, unable to help but sound a bit worried as she lightly elbowed him to draw his attention, ”Are you even listening at all, Klaus? At least say something.”
That seemed to snap him out of whatever weird daze he was in as he seemed to come back to reality, shaking his head slightly before offering a small smile.”Ah, my apologies… Kinda zoned out for a moment there, I’m fine otherwise though~”he spoke up, trying to sound like his usual chipper self yet his voice seemed shaky. Even his tone of voice was slightly off, it sounded like he was trying to convince himself that he was fine moreso than them. Still, Phoenix tried not to let her doubt show too much as they focused more on Kraven’s story about her ventures in the Distortion World. Of course, it certainly sounded like something that must truly have to be seen to be believed. Even though she had read quite a few books detailing the landscape and inner workings of the Distortion World, she couldn’t exactly evaluate the validity of such accounts as she had never been to such a place herself. Still, Phoenix was willing to forego any skepticism she might have had to hear Kraven out. Apparently her companion had read up quite a bit on the Distortion World as well, but it was really hard to understand what was explained in the books until one actually saw it for themselves. Phoenix could certainly agree there, nodding as her friend went on to say that if physics worked that much differently in the Distortion World then it was likely that time was just as warped as well. It would certainly make sense, given that Kraven had felt like she had been stuck in the strange otherworldly place for far longer than her and Klaus’s estimate for how long she had been away.
Still, there was something odd about Kraven’s story that bugged her a bit, and Klaus had picked up on it as well when he pointed it out in his comments. As far as they were aware of, only Giratina had the authority to enter and exit the Distortion World of their own accord, which was only a given as Giratina was essentially its ruler. So how Kraven had been able to enter and exit such a place even without Giratina was quite puzzling… Phoenix couldn’t help but wonder if maybe her companion had actually seen any sign of that particular Pokemon while she had been there. Kraven suggested that perhaps there was something going on with Giratina itself, since it hadn’t been just her and a few trainers that had been pulled into the Distortion World. There was also the mention of exit portals being present almost everywhere, which seemed to be the exact opposite of what Phoenix remembered reading about the place. Especially since portals don’t just open and close at random inside or outside of the Distortion World, as far as she remembered at least… ”Stranger and stranger…” she murmured, though she was willing to save it for later since both she and Kraven were eager to grab a bite to eat, ”But yes, plenty more opportunities to talk about it another time.”
Phoenix smiled as Kraven agreed on the prospect of the diner, offering for her to take them there. ”With pleasure, it shouldn’t be too far from here, actually,” she agreed, beckoning for Klaus and Kraven to follow along as they ventured down the city streets. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for them to find aforementioned diner, only a block or two away from the Pokemon Center. It was a small place sandwiched between two shops, no name visible on the sign which depicted a stylized motif of two Flareons in a yin-yang-esque design. The smell of grilling burgers and freshly made fries greeted them as Phoenix opened the door to let them inside, and thankfully it seemed there were plenty of tables and booths still open in spite of the modest crowd already gathered inside. The waitress at the front smiled to them in greeting, already moving to grab menus for them.”Welcome to Flare’s Fare, table for two for you ladies?”she asked, though it took her a moment to notice Klaus standing behind them before realizing her mistake and grabbing an extra menu,”Ah, table for three actually. Sorry about that!”
”Three would be fine,” Phoenix assured quickly as she mustered a small, polite smile, following after the lady as she led them to a booth by one of the windows. Klaus steadily made his way after them, his body seeming to move on its own like clockwork even though his mind felt rather distant and foggy. Although the smells of cooking food were quite delicious, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of nausea come over him whenever he inhaled the aroma of grilled meat and frying seafood. The Zoroark hadn’t even noticed that he was still standing even after the two trainers had sat down at their booth. ”Earth to Klaus, are you going to sit with us or...?” Phoenix spoke up, waving a hand in front of the dazed Dark-type’s face to try and snap him out of it. Klaus flinched as he seemed to register the movement at last, raising a hand to his head as he took a deep breath.”Oh, are we here already? I must not have noticed, time really does fly~”he said with a grin, trying to play it off casually as he took a seat in the booth next to Phoenix, the vinyl upholstery squeaking softly under the added weight. ”Seriously Klaus, is there something wrong? This is the second time you’ve been acting… not like your usual self,” Phoenix asked, biting her lip in concern. She thought it had only just been a brief momentary lapse the first time, but now it was starting to grow worrisome. The Zoroark shook his head, trying to ignore the fact that he was feeling oddly warm even though the diner was clearly quite well air-conditioned.”Please, I’m perfectly fine, fantastic even~ And even if there was something wrong, I can assure you that it’s no cause for alarm,”he reassured, still trying to play casual even it was a clear bold-faced lie. He was sick… with what, he wasn’t entirely certain, or even how he had gotten the illness in the first place. But he didn’t want to worry his companions about it, it was probably just a temporary thing that would come to pass sooner or later.】☆ ☆

While Jaxston waltzed into the grass to battle, Ginger maintained the task of keeping Quixote entertained while their trainer scrolled through his communicator looking for information on the upcoming gym. She gave that breathy giggle as she swished a loose branch around in the air for the Axew to chase and tackle, which he did adamantly.
Eventually the little dragon came to a pause, huffing for air from his latest round of jumping and chasing. Though his breathing sounded a bit more strained, which brought a frown to the Gengar’s face.
"What’s the matter pipsqueak?" She inquired, "The mighty branch too much for ya?" She teased. Quixote at this point had taken a seat on the ground, still huffing loudly, small squeaks weaseling their way in as well, which didn’t sound all that good.
The Gengar’s expression turned to concern, tossing the branch away as she approached Quixote. "What’s wrong? You okay pipsqueak?" She inquired, giving him a light poke in the side of the head. He looked a little red in the face and the only response she’d earned was a series of vicious sneezes from the dragon. Uh oh… this kind of looked like a sick situation.

When another series of sneezes occurred, Ginger decided there was no point in ignoring the obvious; it was clear Quixote was coming down with something. "C’mon pipsqueak, we gotta let Rere know you aren’t feeling well!" She chimed, gently latching a hand on his and tugging him to his feet. Once the Axew was stable enough to walk, she guided him over to Reese.
Their trainer didn’t miss the wild series of sneezes that appeared out of nowhere as he looked up with a narrowed look of disapproval. He eyed the two as they stopped in front him, though his icy-blue gaze immediately went to the dragon pokemon who was looking rather under the weather.
"The hell’s wrong with him?" Reese asked, tucking the communicator away as Ginger dragged Quixote within grabbing range. He reached out and picked up the Axew, receiving a very weak ‘Xew…’ in response. The young man made a face, setting the pokemon in his lap before placing a hand to his head, grimacing a little. that was the last thing he needed, was a sick pokemon. The Axew withdrew a bit like he was ashamed, sniffling and rubbing at his face before another series of sneezes occurred. Well, if he was sick, he was sick. There was no stopping it now. But they’d probably need to visit a pokemon center if it was the kind of thing that needed medication.
"Hey Ginger, go check on Jaxs for me. Make sure he ain’ getting sick or beat to death somewhere," Reese commanded as he settled The , free hand pointing in the direction that the Snivy had disappeared off too. Ginger’s gaze shifted between Reese and Quixote, concern clear but she finally nodded and slipped into a nearby shadow with a little giggle, the black spot on the ground disappearing into the grass.

Kraven paid little attention to Klaus' spaced judgement, first assuming his silence to be the joke then accepting that he'd simply spaced out. Truthfully, her own wounds just made the young woman eager to leave the forest and rest for a bit. There was only so much they could really dissect from her personal account of the Distortion World, and the greater mystery of a temporal rift concerned her less than an empty stomach. She followed Phoenix a little closer than she might've needed, on the off chance that either of their injuries started acting up, but otherwise their journey was blessedly normal.
The young trainer practically melted in her seat as soon as she sat down. "Hooooooh boy," she exhaled, sinking onto the table with her arms tucked beneath her head. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Unova's burgers already smell that great..." Kraven tilted her head to give her friend a slightly tired smile, having never quite realized how much her body ached until she finally sat down. She followed the redhead's gaze when she realized Klaus' odd stance in front of the table, peeling herself from the flat surface to briefly look him over.
"Maybe you just need a little extra sleep?" The dark-haired musician finally chimed in. "I doubt anything's gonna come up while we're here, might do you some good to take a quick nap before we get going again." Out of the corner of her eye Kraven spotted another waitress, probably only two tables away from coming over to them. Might be good to have an order ready huh? Sliding her menu out from under an arm she did her best to quickly leaf through it out of the corner of her eye. She still had the money leftover from the gym battle, so it wouldn't kill her to spend a little extra on a bigger burger, right? They were already much larger than what she'd typically find in Lumiose so she might as well go all the way. Fries were basically a given, it was just a matter of what kind. Then there were the drinks; she just planned to get a soda, but the fact that they had milkshakes suddenly stole her attention, and caused her to have a small reevaluation of her choices...
By the time the waitress actually arrived at them, Kraven was still buried up to her neck in the menu. She probably would've stayed that way too if she hadn't spoken up, startling the young trainer with a simple "Are you ready to order?"
Kraven practically shot up and nearly swore under her breath, snapping her attention to the woman. "Y-Yes please, here..." Rather than debate in circles more, the musician simply pointed to what initially caught her eye. She couldn't exactly go wrong with a few cheeseburgers and a milkshake, right?

☆ ☆【Phoenix was more than glad to see that they wouldn’t have to wait as they were able to get a seat right away. Flare’s Fare was a pretty popular and well-known restaurant around these parts, and some days it was busier than others. She had been mostly ignoring the throbbing, dull pain in the back of her head from banging it against the ground earlier, wincing slightly as a small but sharp spike lanced through her skull. It was thankfully gone as quickly as it had come, but that soreness still lingered with annoying persistence. She supposed that if she had indeed gotten a concussion, it might take a day or so for it to really go away. But in the meantime, hopefully some good food will help them recover after that mishap earlier. If all else failed, they could probably pick up some painkillers at the Pokemon Center to help with it. Phoenix smiled as Kraven sat down with a relieved sigh, clearly more than happy to finally have a sit down. She chuckled softly at her companion’s remark about how good the burgers smelled. ”Oh? Well, this place in particular is pretty well-known for their burgers, plus its relatively cheap for pretty good quality food,” she offered with a nod, returning her companion’s smile, ”You’ll probably be in for a treat~ I don’t suppose there are good places like this in Lumiose as well?” It was probably a pretty obvious answer the more she thought about it. Lumiose was the main tourist hotspot in Kalos, of course there would be plenty of good restaurants all around the city for travelers to enjoy. Still, Phoenix couldn’t help but be curious, especially since Kraven would know far more than her being a resident of the city herself.
Not long after, however, Phoenix found her attention directed towards Klaus upon noticing that he was still standing by the table. He seemed oddly distant and quiet… which was quite unlike him. Was he perhaps sick? Or had something happened to him during their walk here from the forest that she hadn’t noticed? Klaus seemed to recover from his bout of strange behavior when Phoenix caught his attention, offering a casually joking remark as he set down Phoenix’s guitar case by the seat before sitting down himself. He insisted that he was fine and that even if there was anything wrong it wasn’t something to really worry over. The redhead furrowed her brow as she gazed intently at him, he clearly knew something was up but seemed unwilling to say what it was. Klaus could be pretty stubborn when it came to things like this, he didn’t want people worrying over him if it was something that he thought was too big a deal. Phoenix supposed that it was understandable that he didn’t want to force his problems onto other people, though she wished he wouldn’t lie so blatantly to her face about it. Kraven then spoke up, suggesting that maybe Klaus needed some extra sleep. It was highly unlikely anything might happen while they were dining, so maybe it was best to take the opportunity to take a little nap before they moved on. ”I’m with Kraven, you’re clearly not feeling very well. Maybe a bit of rest will help with that,” she agreed with a nod, pulling out Klaus’s Pokeball, ”You can come back out when you think you’re feeling better. I’ll get you something to-go, so don’t worry about missing out on food either.”
Klaus was about to retort back, to tell them that it was probably only temporary and it might go away sooner or later. She already had a relatively good idea of what she wanted and what Klaus might like, it was mostly a matter of waiting for the waitress to come and take their order. And it seemed the closest one was only a few tables away from theirs. Looking over towards Kraven, Phoenix couldn’t help but give a small smile when it seemed like her ebon-haired companion was struggling a little with her decision. Not that she could blame her, this place offered a pretty good range and unless you knew for sure what you wanted it could be tough to make a decision. Still, hopefully he’d feel much better and more like his usual self by the time he was ready to join them again. ”So, what’s next on the agenda after we eat and rest up?” she asked, trying to make small talk with Kraven while they waited for their food, ”I’ve admittedly fallen behind on the gyms before we ran off to Tanabata, I still have to challenge the one in Striation and here…” She sheepishly smiled, shaking her head. ”Of course, I won’t make you come all the way back to Striation with me just for that, but I’ll try to get through them quickly,” she suggested, humming thoughtfully, ”I won’t make you wait up for me, though. If you’d like to keep pushing forward then I can just catch up after I’ve taken care of my own business.” She really didn’t want to hold Kraven back even if they were traveling companions, especially since her companion was probably eager to take on the next Gym over in Castelia after they’d sufficiently recovered. ”Although, did you still want to go visit the Ranger’s School? I know we had planned to do that in Castelia before, well… that whole fiasco happened,” she inquired, curious to know if Kraven still intended on doing that. Trey was.... not in a bad mood, per se, but after catching that peafoul, he'd been deprived a chance to actually rest, before JR swept him off towards Nacrene. "To get the next badge," yadda yadda, and given that was what was in the way of him returning to his contests, he couldn't exactly argue it. But he was tired, and it was dark, and he was heavily confused over why this pokemon just... let him catch it. It wasn't like he had a psychic type that could really check for him, either. Maybe it was just because he'd caught its sister? Though it seems like it would make more sense for it to try and get him to free her, than to just decide to come with. Maybe it was more passive, though... Or it hadn't intended to come with them, and now that it was out of its natural habitat, recognized it was probably safer to stick with a trainer.

Ginger found Jaxston standing out in the grass, marveling at the change in his form brought by his evolution. He felt stronger with this new form too, it was all very different.
"Hey big head!" Jaxston jumped as a ghostly hand slapped against his back, spinning on his feet only to get tangled up in the new length they brought and trip to the ground. "W-wha?!?" Ginger snickered down at him, hand over her mouth as she suppressed a giggle. "Well, well, well ain’ you lookin’ different! You’re heads still pretty big though," she gestured to the new form.
Jaxston huffed, scrambling back to his feet as he delivered an unenthused glare. "It is not!" He retorted, arms folding over his chest. What was with her and the size of his head? It was getting pretty old pretty quick.
Ginger’s giggles persisted for a minute though before finally dying down. "Sure it is. But congrats on evolving!" She waved a hand through the air, gesturing him to follow. "But we gotta go now so c’mon!"

"Q’s sick big head! He’s gotta see a nurse!" Ginger scowled, poking the Servine roughly in the shoulder before beginning to lead the way back. Jaxston’s brow furrowed; Q? Who was that… the Axew thing? Either way he straightened himself up and quickly skittered after the Gengar’s fleeting form to return to their trainer.

While he waited for his team to return, Reese tended to the sniffling Quixote. A hand to the Axew’s forehead told him he had a fever, which was troubling and not something the punk really wanted to deal with. The sound of rustling caught his attention and he looked up just as Ginger and Jaxston reppeared.
"What the…" he muttered, brow furrowing at the sight of the Servine. Jaxston certainly didn’t look like that before he entered the grass and so he had to take a moment to pull out his pokedex and check.
"Oh… huh. You evolved?" Jaxston puffed his chest out in pride, though that just earned him a bit of an unimpressed look. "Well good, maybe you won’t get the crap beat out of you at the gym," was Reese’s response. He collected his things, slinging his bag over his shoulder before settling Quixote in his arms comfortably.

They made the trip to the Pokemon center a short one. Quixote seemed to regain a little bit of his color as he was placed on the counter, though a few more sneezes escaped at the nurse took him back to the examining table. Reese shuffled in place in annoyance as he waited, hands shoved deeply in his pocket. He didn’t like the idea of Quixote being sick of all things and was already mulling over what he might need to pick up just to assure the little dinosaur got back to tip top health. Not that he intended to use him in any upcoming battles but well… you never knew when he’d need him for something.
Which brought to mind that he was considering taking on the local gym leader. Reese grimaced a moment, looking around and finding one of those stupid flyers places like the Pokemon center often had lying around for trainers. He flipped through the first few pages which just had some drivel about sights to see and junk, finally finding the part about the gym. Which apparently was also in a library or something; go figure.
What was the deal with gym leaders and ‘themed’ gym s**t?
He skimmed for relevant information; so they were a normal-type gym. He had to wrack his brain a moment on what would work best in that situation; fighting of course, but was there anything else? Reese couldn’t think off the top of his head of anything else. Ginger would’ve been a good choice just to avoid getting hit for being a ghost, but he’d heard that often gym leader’s would plan for those kind of cheap tactics.
Best not to rely on that.
Did he have a fighter? No, not really. Did he have someone who could pretend to be a fighter? Mmm… not likely.
Reese glanced at Jaxston who was idling by while they waited. He mulled over the options and gave a sharp whistle to catch the Servine’s attention. "Hey Jax, you up for another battle?" The pokemon blinked, straightening it’s stance as though he were a soldier addressing their general before giving a little salute. Reese just furrowed his eyebrows, giving the pokemon a confused look.
"The hell is your problem?" Jaxston faltered in his stance at this, cheeks going a little red against the green in embarrassment. Well that wasn’t the response he was expecting and shuffled his feet awkwardly for it. The punk just stared before rolling his eyes. "Whatever, you’re taking the next gym so. C’mere," he jerked a thumb at the counter to which the Servine easily understood to mean that he ought to get himself checked too. He scrambled and with some help from Reese, was on the counter as well to get a checking and then handed over a few of the rare candies and one of the items he was housing in his bag for good measure.

With some medication prescribed for Quixote that would help the fever and keep those sniffles and sneezes in check and Jaxston checked back to ‘good enough’ condition, the small crew headed off to find the gym. It really wasn’t hard, given the size of the town and the fact there there was only like one library looking building in the place. That being said, Reese had to admit that he sort of liked the vibe of the city; it was kind of retro and homey in a way. There were some sort of artsy vibe here and there that didn’t quite feel like that stuffy stuck up bull you might find in other places.

He shifted Quixote in his arms (who he’d opted to carry as opposed to returning to his ball because reasons) and tugged open the door, making a face as they entered. It definitely wreaked of ‘library’ with displays of the skeletal structures of pokemon long since gone and artifacts of the past. It was what you expected of a place dedicated to well… old stuff.
The place was abandoned. Or well, seemed that way. So Reese did what anyone would’ve done; he started poking around needlessly with things he shouldn’t. This eventually caught the curator’s attention who was apparently lurking about dusting off some of the exhibits. ”H-hey now! Please don’t touch the displays please! They’re very delicate!” He announced, ushering an unimpressed Reese away from a suite of armor. The punk took a step back, frowning as he adjusted Quixote in his arms.
"You the gym leader?" He asked point blank, looking about ready to go back to poking and prodding things that he shouldn’t. The man, who’d just rubbed down the armor, blinked and gave the lad a look. ”Oh! Lenora! Of course, of course I think she’s in the back right now, you’re looking for a battle then?”
"Yeah," Reese grunted, looking unimpressed as the man finished working and started to lead the way towards the back of the building. The man nodded repeatedly, adjusting his glasses as they arrived at the battle landing. Reese took up the space on the other side, waiting a minute before a woman finally appeared to accept his challenge. Lenora certainty wasn’t who he was expecting, that was for sure.

Annoyed.
That was one way to put how Reese was feeling in the moment. Jaxston huffed and toddled his way slowly to his trainer, worn from the battle that had ensued. That had been far tougher than he’d expected and while he’d found a burst of toughness in the end from his contrary nature (haha), it wouldn’t have been possible without the assistance from his trainer.
Whose current unhappiness didn’t go unnoticed. Reese adjusted a still weak looking Quixote, who gave the weakest of cheers at his team mates success in his arms, glancing only briefly at the weary Servine, before shifting his focus back to Lenora. The young man couldn’t focus on the stupid dribble of friendly banter coming from her as she accepted defeat, simply snatching his winnings away from her before turning on his heels and storming out the place without a word.
Jaxston, startled, glanced from the gym leader to his trainer and then back, giving a look that read “I’m sorry” before picking up the pace and rushing after the punk.
Reese made a beeline for the pokemon center, not missing a beat in the process. The nurse seemed surprised to see him back so early, and was even more startled as he all but slammed Ginger’s pokeball on the counter, adjusting Quixote just enough to free a hand so that he could latch onto the back of Jaxston’s collar and semi-slam him down on the counter too. He was… annoyed. That was the word we were going with and hissed through clenched teeth that his pokemon needed healing as quickly as possible fore sulking his way to a nearby table to wait.

Reese hadn’t quite calmed down, but by the time Nurse Joy summoned him to the counter to retrieve his pokemon he’d fallen into a sullen state of mind. He grumbled under his breath as he retrieved Ginger’s pokeball and eyed Jaxston, who looked relieved for the moment of rest he’d received. They stared at one another for a long moment and while the Servine felt a wee bit uncomfortable, for once it wasn’t that level of intense judgement that he often got from his trainer. The young man just seemed… tired? Agitated? Not angry but the grass starter couldn’t peg it.
"C’mon, let’s go," Reese muttered with a jerk of his head, once again adjusting a now snoozing Quixote in his arms after reattaching the pokeballs before heading for the door. The Servine tilted his head a bit, glancing back at the concerned Nurse Joy curiously before hopping down from the counter and quickly hustling after the fleeting form of his trainer.
