The Shadowlord curled his lip in a sneer at Wilson, before shrugging his shoulders as if adjusting his cape. He opened his mouth full of sharp teeth as if to combat Wilson with another reply-
There was a familiar cry from behind him. His gaze lanced across Moon - she was still safe and fighting - and finally behind him, to where his rook had fallen to her knees in defeat. Perhaps he had a bit more empathy for her - she was, like him, the Tower. He rushed to her side, picked up her small, fallen form in his arms. He could not see a wound.
It did not bode well.
"You will be avenged," he hissed in her ear, before laying her on the red table out of the way of everyone's boots and swinging weapons.

"Not to mention we had better food for when we got too drunk."
Jing also had Nuk's butt to look at which was sorely missing. "But we are alive, in a sense, that's good Ying."

He shot a glance over at the rampaging false-king and found himself beset with lingering strange echoes. Someone killed Massacre. It wasn't him was it? He rubbed his temples. "I guess when s**t hits the fan, they call us back in."

Sarviur took in the anger, feeling it mount within him. Well, if that was what the king wanted...he adjusted his grip on the sword, and swung again.

Oh, so the black king could feel something more than revenge after all.
No. No. He was wishing for vengeance now. Never mind. Wilson only felt a twinge of sadness for Maple, and he watched on calmly as Aymet charged toward the king. "No," he started, drawing out his sword.
Dark red eyes have turned icy when he stepped toward the false king. "That's not how you do it, Aymet. You need to have more force and yet remain calm at the same time. You need clarity. Like this." The white king's face is utterly blank when he deals his own blow to the other black king.

The hand that lay gently on Jing's arm squeezed a little tighter. "Yes. We are alive and together." She gave a wry smile and added, "I'm just glad that mangy mutt of a man isn't here too." It was no secret that Ying didn't approve of Jing's little tete-a-tete with the Nuk. Whoops.
