Hey Diddle Diddle! There were always things to do.
It wasn't enough to just patrol about the city, seeking out new senshi to awaken and assisting some of the more experienced senshi. Oh no no, even keeping occupied with her own girls was not enough!
A Mauvian was a Mauvian, and a Cat was a Cat! They might not have seemed too different upon the surface, but when it came down to it, they were definitely two completely distinct species. Both might have been curious creatures, but only one of the two species had the capacity to actually do something about the curiosities.
Every so often, the manx who went by many a name, but most frequently by *********, would seemingly vanish. The longest she would be gone would be a day, an allotted amount of time that wasn't all that suspicious. It was a calculated amount of time that was calculatedly not suspicious at all.
No knight, no senshi, not even the spoiled chibi senshi knew about the mysterious disappearance acts. None questioned her, so she never had to answer. The only ones who had an inkling as to what the manx was doing were her fellow Mauvians. If they happened to be passing through the headquarters located beneath the city at the right time, they would see the spritely pigtailed girl fussing with parts and pieces.
At first, the pieces had no true form, and it almost looked like the girl was trying to put puzzle pieces that didn't even belong together into some sort of abstract masterpiece. However, as she worked along, she hummed and sang out the most nonsensical tunes. Some seemed to have a human origin, almost a cliche ring to it.
"Hey Diddle Diddle! ********* got a fiddle, she'll play til the Senshi dance on the Moon!"
Other tunes just seemed to come from nowhere, but always had a playful tune to them. The cat-earred girl worked with a smile upon her lips, and a "Can Do" spirit that rivaled the optimism of Hygiea. Despite her physical appearance, the Mauvian did seem to know a thing or two about using human tools.
Slowly, but surely, after weeks of work, her project began to take on a shape. At first, it just seemed to grow rounder and rounder. An antenna soon enough seemed to emerge out of the top. However, a sort of rubber covering soon enough masked a majority of the inner workings.
A rubber covering that had ears. Very triangular ears.
And green eyes.
And familiar markings.
And a silver star upon the forehead...
When she stood up again, the object was gone, tucked away into subspace for the time being.
"Now... who should I show this to now that it is sooo close to being done...?" Casually musing as she began to make her way to the exit, the girl shrunk down to the size of a chubby manx cat again. It was a question that would get an answer another day.
