Zia was grumbling. When was she not grumbling? Well, when she was laughing, but right now it was cold, it was a stupid week in a stupid month, and her hoodie had a hole in the arm that the wind seemed to be blowing right at all the time.
She toyed with the idea of going home, but then that was dismissed when she thought of having to face a roommate when you hadn't paid your half of the rent in over a month. She'd been a chronic couch crasher for December. Because facing problems like a grown up was for losers apparently. But she wasn't about to break her streak tonight.
She pulled her hat down over her ears, huddled her arms against her again, and just kept walking.

As Zia walked along, she soon enough would hear a very cheery tune being hummed by a familiar voice. It was almost as if the tune had come from the circus itself.
Just about the corner, ********* had been minding her own merry business, trotting along to visit the next girl upon her list of "people to check up on." Ellie Spectre, also known as Sailor Iris, was destined to be pestered by the manx. It always came at some point. The team captain didn't even fight it anymore.
Which ultimately meant that ********* had gotten her way!

Zia's pace slowed to a stop when she realized there was humming. Familiar humming. There was a brief pause in her thoughts as she looked around for the source, eventually spotting the culprit rounding the corner.
She shoved her hands in her pockets and looked at the manx with the easy laxness of running into an old buddy and rolled back on her heels, "Good evening, *********," She cooed, trying not to laugh.

********* had been spotted before ********* had done the spotting. However, the greeting itself caused her ears to perk and the manx soon enough muffled her humming so she could take a look at who she was dealing with.
"My, my! I spy with my little eye something that starts with a Z!" The manx seemed to be in a chipper enough mood. However, her paws didn't really seem to want to stop and soon enough she had started to walk past the lilac-haired girl.
"What brings you out and about to this side of town, Zia?" she called back upon passing.

Zia smirked and watched ********* pass, turning with a dramatic, stiff legged swivel, and followed her like it was nothing. They were suddenly a spur of the moment march down the sidewalk.
"I dunno. Just out. Haven't really be home in a month. I'm not sure I live there anymore," She mused with a shrug. "Not sure where to go tonight either."
Her eyes rolled up in thought as if she had to calculate the next step in conversation.
"Where are you going?"

The round cat nearly stumbled over her paws when the girl admitted how she hadn't been home in quite a while.
"Zia! Why in the world wouldn't you go home? Is there something wrong there?"
The feline did manage to swivel around to face the other direction, and for a moment had to pause since she was not talented enough to walk backwards for long distances.
Of course, the inquiry about ********* own path received an honest response. "I am checking up on one of my girls... Silly girls aren't able to keep themselves out of trouble if I'm not around!" She giggled before putting on the serious face in regards to Zia's own issues.

"Not reeeeally? I dunno," Zia shrugged. She hadn't mentioned her lack of home going with any gravity. She originally stopped going home because she was shaken up over the Orpheus 'thing', but that only lasted for a night, maybe two, and then she didn't want to deal with it, and now she was avoiding a roommate she had left hanging with the rent and was avoiding the problem like a pro.
"It wasn't really home anyway, it was just a bed," She said with a laugh. "I guess I'm an alley cat. I've been migrating around. Sleeping on various couches. Very adventurous of me."
She raised her brow at the mention of being on her way-- well their way now since Zia was following her-- to visit her girls. Zia was a nosy. No one would accuse her of not being nosy.
"Oooooh? Which one. I still haven't formally met any of them," She said like she expected that to be fixed.

The manx's head cocked to one side as she listened to the explanation. It was a familiar description, since once could describe ********* own life to be just that. The world was essentially just one large bed for her. Some could have called it a wanderlust, but the little manx didn't really give it a label. She just kept doing what she did!
"I am meeting with the captain... she might be the one mostly calling the shots... but she still has her fair share of stupid moments!" With a wink, the Mauvian turned around again and continued to lead the way. It didn't seem as if the manx would be making a big deal about having someone following along after her. Pretty quickly, she resumed that familiar humming she had been doing prior to bumping into the girl.

"Mind if I tag along?" Zia asked, just out of courtesy since she was clearly tagging along anyway.
"The captain's the big, blonde one, right?" She asked, trying to recall the tall senshi ********* had been with the night of some big battle some time far away. She couldn't even remember any other features besides tall, blonde, and standing next to *********, and she was lucky to get that much.

In a sing song tone, the feline practically mewed out her response.
"I don't think it's a matter of whether I mind you tagging along...
I think it is more a matter of if she minds you tagging along!"
She giggled as they approached a more residential area. "Yes, yes, that's the one," she replied, still playing the silly game of making her words a fun song. Had ********* any sort of suspicions about her fellow sorta-kinda-guardian-cat, maybe she would have thought through the notion of randomly leading her to the home of the captain.
Alas, it hadn't even crossed the manx's mind. The only thought that had come to mind was that Ellie would probably be upset no matter what!
Eventually the manx did turn in towards the walkway of a home that was very blatantly lacking in the lawn department. Plenty of gravel, but not a blade of grass to be seen at all.

"Should I goooo?" Zia chirruped innocently, still following the mini manx march going on down the walkway.
She did glance at the landscaping with a raised brow. She didn't have a lot of experience with these normalish homes in normal-class normal land but she did always picture them with lawns and picket fences and really cranky old father figures who took care of those lawns with too much zeal.
Too much of Zia's reality was shaped by media, clearly.

Once the pair had arrived at the door, the manx glanced back to Zia.
"Wait here for a momeeent ~ "
With that, the feline trotted off, leaving the lilac haired at the door. Given a few minutes, the manx soon enough came trotting back with an odd rock in her teeth.
Rather than say anything (seeing as her mouth was full), she merely rubbed up at her companion's ankles, trying to prompt her to lean down and take what was in her mouth.

Zia watched ********* putter off and distracted herself by giving the unassuming house a more detailed look over at some of the more pointless things before her feline friend returned with a rock.
Well, a fake rock.
"Hide-a-key?" She asked, reaching down to take it from ********* mouth and fumble around, looking for the key she assumed was stuck on, in, or under it somehow.

The manx giggled a bit after the false rock had been taken from her. "Yes, I do think this is a more effective use of the tactic than many households out there!"
The rock itself was the sort that had a latch which opened to reveal the semi-hollowed out center that most definitely had a door key in it.
"...It isn't that hard to find them though when you have a sensitive enough nose. Find the thing that smells like plastic and BAM, you've got a key!"
Padding up to the door, she set both of her paws against the door and leaned against it. "When you get in, put the key in the rock again and set it on the table by the door... oh... and there is a good chance there is a dog in there right now!"

"Aw," Zia popped the key out of the center and wriggled it into the lock on the door. "I don't mind dogs." Understatement. "Unless it's going to have a problem with strangers breaking and entering," She added, and paused to give ********* a wry smile, silently giving her a window to say something before pushing the door open with a, "Because in that case when they find my mauled body, it's on you, cat."
She did at least put the key back in the rock and set it on the table by the door, per her instructions.
