There was a skip in the manx's step. It wasn't everyday that she had something to show off! There were many cats who might have seen her in the middle of her project, but there was one who had no ability to see her work.
Like a child who was eager to share her brilliant creation, ********* soon enough found herself upon the doorstep of a certain odd blend of cat and girl. Nobody seemed to be around, so as she attempted to get some attention in the feline manner by scratching at the door, she also resorted to some humming.
Nobody would notice a humming cat, right?

Zia was home, for once, and didn't intend to be for long. She needed to do some laundry, grab some personal effects, and then get the hell out of there before her roommate showed up.
And she totally noticed the humming cat.
There was a rush to the door before it was flung open in frantic urgency, followed by a glare and a low hiss. "What the ******** are you doing?!"

The manx didn't even seem to bat an eyelash at the greeting the received, though she did have to hop back to avoid getting squished by a wildly swinging door.
She trotted inside before replying "Well, I was humming, of course!" There was a pause. "I didn't think you would actually be around... but it is great that you are!"

"Yeah, well I'm in a hurry," Zia said, with a level of frantic urgenc in her voice to match as she watched the cat strut inside uninvited.
"Uh. What are doing? My roommate could be home any minute, I can't have talking cats in my loft!" But she still shut the door and went back to scurrying around the living space, grabbing a basket of laundry and trying to get her s**t organized before she got out of there.

The manx tilted her head, as cats tended to do on occasion when something intrigued them.
"....but in a sense, you are a talking cat, my friend!" She flicked a playful wink at the girl. Like an obedient dog, ********* proceeded to follow along by Zia's ankles.
"So... dare I ask where you are off to in such a hurry? I wanted to show you something... something neato-mosquito!"

Zia stopped in her tracks and gave ********* a sidelong glare. It wasn't the talking cat thing, although if there wasn't some other aspect of the conversation, that would make her twitch.
The last time ********* had something to show her, an assload of people ended up as fake guardian cats.
"...What is it?" She asked in a flat monotone. She was not amused, or excited, but felt like she needed to ask for the sake of public safety.

In a sing-song tone, the manx replied "Sooooomething~"
However, figuring her companion wouldn't exactly appreciate her response as much as others might, she added to her answer.
"...if you are in such a rush, we should probably get going and then I can show you once we get there! Pretty sure you don't want your roommate to see whatever it is I have to show you... yes?"

Zia still looked suspicious. A space cat saying they had something to show you turned out well exactly none of the time.
But at the same time she was dying of curiosity so she finished up her stuff and left it within arms reach of the mirror in her bedroom.
"Okay, fine. I have a place we can go," She said, glancing out her window, just to make sue no one was on their way home before she powered up and held out a hand as a cue for ********* to jump in her arms.

"...wait... what?" The manx had her head turned almost 90 degrees to the side as she looked at Zia, who quite quickly sprouted ears much like her own.
She didn't question much beyond that as she easily jumped into the other guardian's arms. Though ********* did know an extensive amount of history on the odd Parallel Mauvian, she did not know about her abilities. So when she began to move towards the large mirror, for a brief moment the feline's fur puffed up, anticipating her face being smooshed into the flat surface of the mirror.
Face smooshing did not happen. Her eyes grew wide with wonderment, and in a dazzled tone, she asked "What does it mean?!"

It meant the best way to travel, in both the girl and the cat's opinion. Even if it could be a bit weird feeling at first, it was just like taking a dive. She'd done it enough to know what to expect, mostly.
The last part was less expected.
Usually it was like hopping through a doorway. And in this case, the doorway had been covered by a blanket. Zia hit it and suddenly they were a tangle on the concrete floor as she powered down and fought and kicked her way out of it.
"What the <********>?!" She screeched, having her epic moment of ********* first mirrorwalk ruined. And she hadn't really processed what happened yet. That took half a second, though, before she growled something about hurting Orpheus under her breath.

********* face was frozen in "WONDERMENT" face for the full length of the journey. She kept looking around, trying to take in all the details of this miraculous trip.
However, the end of the trip was quite unexpected. However, the manx seemed to have a very opposite attitude to the offending blanket. While Zirconia spewed out angry curses, the little cat was giggling like mad!
"So, what do we have here, my friend?" Her nose sniffed slightly at the air of the room, as if trying to figure out where she was now.

"A place," Zia said flatly like that explained everything. In all actually the metal temporary structure full of files and cheap furniture like a computer desk and couch was like a sanctuary for the cat with no base or home to call her own. But it was hard for Zia to explain that with her own words. "I dunno, a safe place," She muttered, getting to her feet and brushing off her jeans before gathering up the blanket with a scowl.
"So what did you want to show me?"

"Ah yes... keeping things vague! I can live with that!" With a giggle, the manx seemed to shift in the girl's arms before a reminder nudged her.
"Oh yes! Let's see here..." She glanced around looking for a clearing of some sort.
Once she managed to find a suitably empty enough space, she lifted a paw. "If you could do me a favor... please toss me up in that direction... up and out!"

Zia was frowning so hard. ********* was full of weird requests tonight and they were all suspicious.
But for now she was humoring her, so she gingerly picked up the other cat and tossed her in kind of a wimpy throw. It felt a little weird throwing a friend like a football, no matter how similarly shaped they were.

Once airborne, the feline somehow managed to twist herself in a manner which ended up with her pulling off a slightly taller version of her typical back flip she used to summon things from subspace.
First the manx landed on the ground, sturdy on her paws. However, over the spot she had jumped over, a large ball-like object appeared. It fell to the ground behind her, bouncing a couple times before rolling to its side.Once the round cat-faced object had ceased to roll, the manx turned around and was already padding to it. "See, see, see!!!" she giddly called out. "I made this... it's a communication device... It's called a ********* Pi... I still need to synchronize it... but... eeeee... I should be able to communicate with Mau if I do things right!"
There was a pause before she tastefully added "I promise no humans are getting turned into cats with this... not enough power in this thing for such a feat!"
