Gentle and friendly, she is a happy, well adjusted if shy lioness. She adores cubs and is a friend to everyone she meets, but there is an innocence about her that would leave her vulnerable to other, more predatory lions. She also has no sense of direction and is incredibly forgetful, often loosing her kills not to another lion or a hyena, but to the fact that she simply forgets where she left them... Now happily mated to a huge blind lion named Ozark, she is his eyes while he is her guardian.

Healer. With her future mate as an Usher, it seems fitting that Asali would deal with life in contrast to his death. Together, they would look after both ends of the pride's needs and as partners, could work together to aid their patients more effectively.

Born a rogue, she left her family when she grew into an adult, needing, as all youngsters do, to spread her wings away from the nest. Yet almost immediately she lost track of where she was and where she had left her family. Within months all hope of ever finding them again had vanished and so, she turned and struck out on her own. Barely managing to feed herself and with absolutely no sense of direction what so ever.. its a miracle that she hasn't succumbed to another predator or the elements so far. Luckily, she stumbled across the Kizingo'zaa, and its was a chance she grasped with both paws.
She met her mate while in the pride, a massive ex-rogue male who was entirely blind. Calm and as steady as the mountains he resembled, she instantly fell for him and as she came to know him, the crush turned into love and eventually he plucked up the courage (and hatched a devious if unnecessary plan) and asked her to be his mate. Of course she agreed joyfully and had never fully recovered, as she still wakes up and checks he is with her, that he is real and really hers rather than a beautiful dream. They had just started their own family when the Kizingo'zaa experienced a great upheaval. Distressed by the loss of their patron god and not knowing how to cope with the new pride that finally emerged from the ashes of the old, the small family slipped away in the night and once more took to the roguelands, seeking a quiet home where they could raise their two sons safely.

Friendly and calm, he is a middle-aged boy with a lot of miles under his flight feathers. Not much surprises him but he has time for everyone if they want to talk to him. Just a generally nice guy who likes to help out those in need.

He is Asali's connection to her muse, the wind. She also tends to see him as her inner-voice externalized. Kind of like a seeing-eye dog, he will be the one to help her get about without getting herself hopelessly lost. With her terrible memory and habit of 'loosing' things like a whole pride and having absolutely no sense of direction, she stays on the beach and close to the pride for fear of misplacing them. But with Pahana around, she can go into the forest after herbs and plants for her healing and be guaranteed to return later that day.

A steady, stoic lion he is very much a scholar. With a life times worth of knowledge about the world nothing really surprises or shocks him any more. Ever calm in any situation he is a reliable male. Despite his age he is also a talented warrior, having been in his King's Guard as a young male before earning his place on the council before being honored with the highest rank of all, King's Own Advisor.

Once the Advisor to his former pride's King, this male is middle-aged and very experienced. Though his former pride was small it was a very serious band and the King governed wisely and fairly, much in thanks to Akhenaten's guidance. The King was poisoned by a stranger passing in the night ad with his leadership lost, the small pride dissolved into utter chaos. Finally one of the King's nephews fought his way tot he throne and set about 'reforming' the pride. Many of the stalwart elders were killed or driven off and the youngsters were indoctrinated into the new order. Akhenaten was too strong to be killed and after fighting his way free of the young males, he escaped into the roguelands. For months he wandered alone never speaking to anyone nor seeking companionship, lost in quiet contemplation, but eventually he came across the Tuait'tekem. Recognizing a land where he could finally settle and live out the last of his days he applied to join as a scribe, mostly remaining silent on the subject of his old life but with his calm and competent manner and obvious experience, he would be an asset to the pride and its youth. In return the pride gives him a place to belong and allow him to once again be useful to others.
When their previous pride disbanded, which was a heavy blow to Akhenaten, he and his family wandering as rogues for a long time before they stumbled across the Pridelands. Deciding it was safe enough (certainly safer than remaining rogues) Akhenaten wished to settle down with his mate in order to give her the safety and protection he worried one day he would be unable to propvide, as he himself is gradually aging.
