Bell is feeling badly and rather lonely because she didn't end up returning Mossflower's feelings as deeply as the other. While they said they'd stay friends, they haven't seen each other at all.
The unicorn is spending all her spare time practicing and performing locally with the Phonyland orchestra.

Belldandy is quiet, timid, gentle soul and prefers to avoid being noticed, feeling she isn't worthy of attention or doting. She has a very harsh inner critic that often chastises her for things she says so she doesn't talk much or offer opinions for fear of saying wrong or stupid things, mostly just agreeing with anything her siblings or parents say and often apologizes for speaking at all. Though her parents and her siblings are very loving, she refuses gifts or favors from them, feeling she doesn't deserve nice things and then apologizes to them for them having to gone through the trouble of considering her.
Melancholic by nature, she's often seen as sad or lonely by phony who don't know her well. However, Bell thrives on the quiet and solitude she creates for herself.
Bell has a extremely soft voice, and raising it is a lot of effort. To speak at a normal volume is equivalent to shouting for her. Like her mother and some siblings, she can sing and is a strong soprano but she only sings if prodded by her family members. She mostly sings to herself, by herself.
Her talent and her passion however, is the flute. Belldandy considers the flute the voice of ghosts and fairies. As with singing, Bell often plays the flute by herself or to birds, but is slowly warming to the idea of playing in an orchestra. Her silver plated concert flute, the only thing she's ever asked for, is her prized possession.

Bell lives a large efficiency apartment at the farthest end of the building so as to disturb as few of her neighbors as possible with her music. (Her neighbors actually don't mind much, Belldandy is an accomplished player and they enjoy the music.)
It's well furnished from her parents generosity in a plush English Country style in shades of blues and cream.
