 Belldandy listed a wadded up ball of newspaper with her magic, floated it over to the trash can, and let it drop in in, joining the other papers and refuse inside. She'd discovered a small pile trash around her favorite part of the park and had decided to use this as a opportunity to practice her unicorn powers. She held the next piece of trash in the air. Her magic was subtle, shimmery instead of glittery like other unicorns. It didn't sparkle like diamonds but twinkled like far away stars. Some of the others in Miss Glory's magic class said her magic was a dull as she was, but she rather liked her "unique shine" as Miss Glory had put it. She dropped the soda can she'd been hiding into the trash can. The mess wasn't getting cleaned up very quickly so she decided to try "multi-tasking". She picked up a piece of trash with her hooves and at the same time, picked up another piece with her magic. Splitting her focus was difficult as she was trying to walk and control a wadded up newspaper ball at the same time. Bell intended to drop both garbage pieces in at the same time but as she let go of the paper in her hooves, the wad of paper in her magic went wonky, dipping like she'd dropped it before taking back to the sky and bounced around in the air. Frowning, Bell jumped up and caught the paper and just threw it away. "Stop that." she scolded herself aloud. Miss Glory had made that trick look easy but it was really mentally taxing. "Do it right this time!" she commanded herself in order to build up confidence. She repeated the exercise, picking up one piece of garbage with her hooves and another with her magic and focused hard on putting them both in the can. Ruriska OK finally got this started XD;;;

There had been a rumour floating about, of ghosts and poltergeists lurking around town. Noble Born had scoffed at first, but the rumours kept coming and so he’d decided to pay a little more attention. The supernatural was an important point of interest for him (if only to make sure Nevermore hadn’t summoned some sort of demon that was rampaging across the city). Usually his search was reserved for night time, so he was astonished when he spotted what could be exactly what he had been looking for while simply out on a walk. A little unicorn girl with floating pieces of trash. Now normally he would have brushed it off as her using her magic but he couldn’t see the usual sparkle that accompanied it. Poltergeist? Ridiculous, wasn’t it? He was curious enough to take a look and wandered slowly over, just in time to hear her speak. Who was she talking to then? Curious. "Good day," said the prince as he walked closer. Astraea Pandora and I finally replied ;o;

Belldandy let out a small squeek as the voice startled her from her concentration. Her magic went haywire a moment, the piece of paper did something like a barrel roll before falling onto her head. She looked up and her face turned bright pink at the handsome stallion who was approaching. She looked around her for somephony else before daring to reply. "Because talking to someone who wasn't even talking to you is very mortifying.." her inner self chided her. "G..good day.." she finally answered in her tiny voice, glancing up at him through her bangs. She wondered if she was in trouble for playing around with the trash or something and her blush got worse from embarrassment.

With a carefully placed expression of pleasant good cheer, Noble Born came to a halt in front of the young filly. She was so small and nervous, he half expected her to run for the hills. Ugh. He hated dealing with children. Slowly, so as not to startle her, he reached out with a hoof and carefully flicked away the piece of paper that had fallen onto her head and stuck to her hair. It dropped to the ground and didn’t move again. If there was a poltergeist in the vicinity, it was suddenly feeling shy. “I hope I haven’t interrupted anything,” he said with a smile. “Were you talking to someone?” He made a show of looking around, as if expecting a second foal to pop up from the earth.

If steam could come out of phony ears, it would be whistling a merry tune from Bell's. Her flush turned into a bright blush as he knocked the paper off her mane. "N..no.." she said in a slightly dreamy tone. "It's just me here.." in the back of her head she wondered why he'd asked such a weird question but the rest of her brain was in a total spin over the stallion talking to her. "I was just picking stuff off the ground.." Without thinking about it, her magic triggered, eager to show off what she had been doing. The piece of paper rose from the ground and into the trash can with a quick, merry bounce. "Miss Glory said we should always pick up garbage if it's just littering the ground." A second piece bounced in. Between her tiny, transparent horn mostly hidden under her bangs and the very subtle motes in her magic, the movement seemed otherworldly. "I'm Belldandy!" she chimed in suddenly.

What was the best way to coax out the information without coming off too strangely? If he took too long or asked too many odd questions, he was sure to make her suspicious, maybe even frighten her off. Noble Born inspected her bright red face. Or maybe not, since she seemed rather awed at the moment. With the movement on the rubbish, he was even more confused. He’d stopped looking at Belldandy and was waiting for more, so his mind didn’t connect the action to her. Unicorn magic was usually so much more obvious. “Miss Glory is quite right.” Perhaps the best course of action was to simply be honest about why he was talking to her and laugh it off later if he’d someone messed up. “I had heard,” he began, laughing softly and dipping his head towards her in a conspiratorial manner meant to encourage her to like him, “that there was a ghost hanging around the area and I wondered if you’d made friends with it.”

The filly's eyes went wide. How did he know about her ghost friend Gumdrop? While most call her friend "imaginary", Bell always insists that Gummy a ghost that she could see. Maybe this stallion could see ghosts too? "How did you know that?" she asked in a tiny voice. Maybe her brother and sisters had been talking about Gumdrop. "Can you see her? Hey Gumdrop this stallion can see you!" Bell's tail swayed happily, accidentally smacking the trashcan, making it seem as if Gummy was responding to the statement. "She's happy about that."

He was momentarily stunned into complete silence. Not only was there a ghost, but this filly called it her friend and called it Gumdrop? It sounded ridiculous, but he had the proof right in front of him. Even if he couldn't see it, and to be quite honest that was the frustrating part (why could some filly see the ghost and not him, a true master of the dark arts?), he had found a supernatural being in Phonyland. “No, I can’t see her,” he said, finding his voice and completely ignoring the first question. “But I’m glad she’s happy.” His gaze roamed the space around the filly, as if looking for some hint, some waver in the air, that might show the position of the spirit. “How fascinating. Do you know how she died?”

Died? It hadn't occurred to Belldandy to ask. "I..don't know..I never though to ask. " she paused. "But if you can't see her how do you know she's here?"Ruriska Sorry so short, was a little unsure how to answer!

He only just stopped himself from rolling his eyes. "Ah, well. I caught sight of her moving items around. It was clearly something supernatural." He nodded and smiled at the foal but his gaze was still flitting around her, looking for further ghostly activity. Astraea Pandora go on bell, spill the beans!

"Oh...that..." Belldandy went red and her stomach dropped when she realized that he hadn't seen Gumdrop but her magic practice instead. The unicorn filly grabbed up a discarded juice box and slowly lifted it with her magic. The juice box floated sorta awkwardly and ended up smacking Noble in the nose. "Ah! Sorry!! I'm not in very good control of it yet.."

"I see..." His tone, when he spoke, was as cold as a glacier. He'd been made to look the fool and he did not appreciate it in the slightest. Perhaps that was his fault for bothering to talk to a child, but he wasn't in the habit of blaming anything on himself when there was a convenient target in front of him. "So if that was you, then Gumdrop is merely a figment of your imagination?"

Belldandy made a tiny noise, something between a squeak and a moan. "I didn't mean to trick you..I'm sorry! It's not like I was trying to be dishonest..." she whimpered. Could all adults this be scary so quickly? "Gumdrop is real though.." she said to herself quietly. Ruriska Noble Born: teaching quality life lessons by scaring the ever loving crap out of foals.

There was a smile on his face but it never reached his eyes. "No, I suppose not, but you were dishonest all the same. Try not to let it happen again." Noble stared down at her disdainfully, as if she was merely a bug one could step on without noticing. "Well then, I'll leave you to your games." He tapped the juice box with his hoof, rolling it back towards her. "Be a good girl and put this in the bin." Then he turned and left. Astraea Pandora Whatever works, right? xD

Belldandy had never complied with anything as quickly as she did in that moment. The juice box had barely begun to fall into the trash can before the filly high tailed it out of the park.
