Welcome to the French Sister Family Party!! Scent Puff, Bon Appeitt, and Noel have shared a sisterhood since their creation and haven't been able to spend quality family time together. Sp the lovely sisters are bringing their families together for fun and socializing, and eating!! All realatives and their significant others are welcome to join in! The sisters have set up three different areas for entertaining, conversation, and relaxation for all members to enjoy! Two areas are primarily outdoor areas.

For the quiet phonies of the French Family this out of the way study is the prefect place to escape their more....outgoing....relatives. The plush study has lovely fluffy couches and large arm chairs for relaxing and enjoying the soft classical music being played. Jasmine Tea has adopted this area, serving a relaxing brew to all those who wish to come. There are many books in the study as well as a few tables for reading or drawing. Some art supplies are also available such as crayons, ink pens, markers, and colored pencils. Paper and other art supplies are in the cubards that line the lower walls. Feel free to relax and enjoy small talk with others of a more quiet nature.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The eating area was truly lovely, though just a touch over-packed as the family filtered in for the very sizable get-together. And while most people would consider that an entire success for a party, Revenant was more keen on more quiet conversations. He wouldn't, of course, leave the main party without greeting his elegant grandmother Scent Puff first. The dance floor, however, was only spared as much attention as to not appear discourteous before he quickly moved on from the, ah, boisterous activities.

The drawing room, while lacking his preferred air of darkness, was much more pleasant for him. A soft smile was spared to his lovely half-aunt Jasmine, Revenant graciously taking a cup of tea to a cozy chair for him to curl up on and read quietly at until more of his book-minded family members arrived.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Truth be told, Hard Truths honestly had no idea what was going on. He had following other phonies onto the premesis out of curiosity and trying to act natural, because how could he ignore such a mass gathering? Luckily no one seemed to have a guest list or anything to check off, because the unicorns almost certain that even if there was someone there who recognized him, he would be kicked out immediately.

The place wasn't bad, though; he admired the decor. It seemed to speak for the phonies who owned it, subtly suggesting their wealth and high class. He himself had he sights set on a future home similar to this in style and interior design...then again, he supposed that would also depend on the opinion and tastes of any phony who might have agreed to share it with him.

Bah, that was thinking too far ahead. It was no use counting one's chickens before they hatched, especially while looking someone else's over. It was bad manners and Truths was determined to behave himself here.

The ideal thing to do would be to attempt to mingle while subtly trying to find out just who this place belonged to and what this gathering was about. It seemed to be a party of some kind, but as Truths had never before attended such a thing, he could only guess.

Noticing a quite stallion standing off to one side, the unicorn watched him smile at - was that Jasmine? - before going for a cup of tea. Hm. That got Truths wondering if there was coffee around. Oh well; he could see to that later. First things first.

"Excuse me," he said, clearing his throat as he approached the other Old Enough male. Truths was certain he'd never met this individual before - upon closer inspection, the phony appeared to be semi-transparent and to glow faintly. That got him thinking about ghosts. "You...wouldn't happen to be related to a Miss Lemure of Lost Love, would you?"

Shrill X was already tipsy. She’d arrived early to help her father set up his DJ stand; however her idea of helping exclusively involved sitting nearby, waving her hoof, screeching directions and raiding the bar. She’d had two vodka raspberries, some lime green drink that made her throat tickle and a shot of whisky and as the family began to congregate, it eventually occurred to her through the pleasant haze that she totally didn’t know where her sister was, which sucked because Singsong totally needed to be here with her so they could dance and do fun things.

So that was how she ended up in the drawing room. She swaggered in, checked out the occupants and said in her very loud party voice, "hey, you know there are actually fun parts of the house, right? What is this, the boring mcboring room? Jeez." Never mind that this was probably where Singsong would also prefer (which was why Shrill had bothered stepping through the door) but apples and oranges, right?

"Revenant, are you just going to stay in here all night? No, you’re not. You have to dance with me later. Don’t even bother arguing." She walked over and eyed the ghostly stallion on his chair, as if debating trying to squish herself in beside him.

Then her attention shifted to the vaguely familiar red guy and she chose to sit on the coffee table instead, shoving some books off it in the process. "Either of you seen Singsong around? Hey, do I know you? I think I know you. Yeah, I totally do. Was it in a club? No, wait? You were some grumpy little colt or something. Ever heard of shaving? That is not a good look."

She was kind of unforgettable, even all grown up and with a cutie mark of her own. Truths visibly cringed at the sound of Shrill's voice even as he realized she had first meant to talk to the other stallion. But then she saw him. So much for hoping to escape her intoxicated notice.

"Why are you already drunk? Most phonies probably just got here," the unicorn inquired with a disapproving scowl. "And yes...unfortunately, we've met." His brows drew together in irritation. "My looks are none of your concern. Do I 'look' like I care what you think?" He found himself pitying whoever this 'Singsong' person was who Shrill was seeking out.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 20, 2014 9:37 pm

"I’m not drunk," she declared with a wild wave of her hoof that nearly sent her tumbling sideways off the table. "And this is a family event, sir, and family events require a good deal of liquor to make them bearable. Most of them are such a big snore." Her eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Speaking of which, we are totally not related. I would know if I was related to you. So who are you dating?"

Shrill X whipped her head around to look at Revenant and then whipped it back towards Hard Truths, mouth doing a big ‘O’ and her eyes full of revelation.

"Oh, oh gross. Really? Really? This is your type, Revy? Damn. We gotta talk about this. I guess you’re pretty girly though, so you’d want someone manlier to match you. Eh, whatever. I’d seriously get him to ditch the hair though. Rashes are a real b***h."

After inquiring what the quietest place during the reunion was, Belldandy made a bee line to the drawing room, breathing in the cool air and smell of books and tea. She stood shyly in front of Jasmine a long time, trying to figure out what type of tea she'd like when she over heard Shrill talking and swearing. Wow, she was related to a phony like her? The stripes were there, no denying it. Not that she disliked Shrill or anything..she was just so...loud.

"I'd always thought most of the family were more...uhm..well...different.." she said mostly to herself in her softy, airy voice, going back to deciding on a tea while keeping one ear listening to the conversation.

Oh dear, this was spiraling wildly out of control. Revenant hadn't gotten a word in inch-wise- really his own fault for delaying, but Shrill X did deserve some of the blame. Not too much. Revenant wouldn't ever fault her for being, ah... lively. The stallion took a breath and held up a hoof to each of the newcomers, silently begging them to stop a moment.

Revenant smiled first at the red unicorn, "Yes, Lemure is my dear sister. We both inherited our ghostly traits from one of our mothers, End of an Era." His head turned back towards Shrill, "No, I have not seen Singsong, but I would be delighted to tonight." His brow pinched, expression becoming much more stern, "The gentlestallion's facial hair is perfectly all right, don't pick on phonies."

Blue eyes darted back towards Hard Truths to explain: "Don't mind her, she has a habit of selecting something about someone she just meets and setting in on them about it. It's sort of a... right of passage, with her. Just ignore her and it'll stop."

And finally, with a deep breath, Revenant turned back towards Shrill X to take a little gamble. The mare would probably not leave the poor red stallion alone if he didn't do something, "Yes, he is here as my guest. No need to call in Prowl and have him escorted from the premises. We were about to enjoy a very relaxing evening. Would you care to join us for tea and quiet? Because there's sort of library rules in here. Quiet. And without dancing. And really no fun at all, I'm sure you'd enjoy it immensely."

The comment about their relation and question about who he was dating had Truths confused enough, but Shrill's last implication had him absolutely flabbergasted and gaping for words to protest. He wasn't sure if he felt more enraged, embarrassed, insulted, or a combination of said emotions, let alone how to express them. Fortunately, the semi-transparent stallion chose that moment to step in.

Recomposing himself, Truths managed to cool down enough to process some information. A family event, was it? There were so many phonies that the unicorn had gone and assumed the party was public. It might as well have been, considering the sheer number and variety of them. Their family must have been enormous.

At least that and Revenant's own explanation gave reason for his semblance to Lemure. Shrill, though? He doubted he ever would have guessed her relation to them. Truths' appreciated the ghost phony's defending him, though he found his formal choice of words such as 'gentlestallion' and 'facial hair' to be fascinating. So there were manners in this family. Shame not everyone seemed to have picked up on it.

At the Earth phony's warning regarding Shrill, Truths snorted in mild amusement. "Charming. I wouldn't say she just met me, since I do believe I kept her from falling to her death and also helped her patch up a costume when we were foals." He cast Shrill a critical look. "However, knowing her, she might just see our prior encounters as all the more reason to pester me - drunk or not." It wouldn't work, though; not tonight. He would behave himself and hold his temper. How could he not when this other gentlestallion was being so gracious?

The unicorn's brows rose in surprise as his ears swerved and he heard the purple phony claim him as a guest. He hadn't had anyone treat him this kindly for a long while; especially not another stallion. It was refreshing. His tactic for deterring Shrill was rather cunning as well. Truths found the corners of his mouth gradually turning upward in a crooked grin.

Not wanting the white mare to notice, he quickly looked away - only to find yet another pale phony by herself. He was surprised the filly wasn't with the others her age. And...was that tea? Perhaps she took after the quiet and refined Jasmine...? They both had stripes, right? Come to think of it...lots of these phonies did.

"Are we disturbing you?" he asked the unicorn filly, lowering his volume. "I beg your pardon." Walking a few steps forward, he leaned down to murmur, "Between you and I, I wasn't even aware this was a family affair until about two minutes ago."

Bell froze as the unicorn stallion addressed her and started to back under the serving table. "Stupid, you shouldn't have said anything, now the adults will kick you out and you'll have to go back out THERE" she scolded herself silently.

"No..not loud.." she squeeked softly. "I just uhm..was surprised by her.." she flicked her eyes over to Shrill. She had to smile at his admission, because from her very brief glance around as she had fled to the room, maybe half of phonyland was in attendance in one way or the other, so she could see how he would have thought of it as a block party. She slowly crept out, as it seemed like the stallion wasn't going to demand she leave and play with other foals. She reached for her tea, thought a second, and offered the cup to the adult. "S..some tea..?"

At the filly's reaction, Truths blinked rapidly in astonishment. He knew as a foal he'd had a reputation for being grumpy and even thought to be mean sometimes, but was he really that scary as an adult? Much as he hated to think that she might be right, perhaps Shrill did have a point about his beard.

Great. Now a foal was making him feel self-conscious about his choice of appearance. He had always had a weakness for girls, he supposed - Shrill X being a rare exception. The vermilion stallion followed the younger unicorn's gaze toward the mare and the line of his mouth twisted into something that wasn't quite a scowl, but not quite a smirk, either. "Ha. Oh yes, she surprises a lot of phonies - and usually in unpleasant ways. I always thought that might be why she was called 'Shrill'."

When he looked back to the shy, sweet filly, he was pleased to see she no longer seemed to see a reason to hide under the table. Perhaps she had initially just been startled by him as well. Ahh, why couldn't more foals be like her? Quiet, polite...and she was even offering him her tea. How considerate.

"No thank you," he answered with a tender, seldom-seen smile. "But that's kind of you to offer." He raised his head to look around briefly once more. "I find it interesting that I seem to be more familiar with that Shrill than you, yet you two even look related. Furthermore, you don't seem anything like her personality-wise. This family of yours must really be large, mustn't it?"

"Speaking of," Truths continued, casting the filly a sly glance out the corner of his eye, "Might I ask why you're here instead of with your peers? There must be a lot of them around. Didn't get into trouble and get sent here for a timeout, did you?" he teased lightly. She certainly didn't seem the type to get into trouble of any sort, let alone enough to warrant punishment.

User ImageJasmine was glad to see her half nephew come in and enjoy himself, at least until her half niece showed up clearly having been enjoying herself in her father's section of the gathering. She had to admit she was surprised to see Hard Truths here, as far as she knew he wasn't a family member or dating anyone. Though she gave a soft smile to Rev as he defended her fellow red phony and somewhat invited him to stay for the festivities. She could already see her mother poking her nose into that later.

Jasmine kept her calm through out the ordeal, letting Rev handle the situation as she helped Belldandy choose a tea. Afterwards she made a nice pot of coffee to offer as well as tea. Later she might have some sherry or brandy for those with far more refined tastes....who could hold their liqueur.

The mare smiled at Hard as he spoke so nicely to the gentle, timid Bell. He could be nice when he wanted, knowing from experience he could be a perfect gentlestallion when the situation called for it. At his mention of Bell perhaps being a bit naughty she finally made a sound, her gentle tinkle of a laugh, "Oh I doubt my great-niece is capable of such things. Though it seems my niece Shrill has been quite a bad girl as of late." She smiled at Hard, "Shrill and Revenant are my niece and nephew from my mother's other set of children."

"It's just quieter here.." she said, lowering the cup away from Truths. "And less phonies..so I came here instead.." she sipped her tea, blushing a bit. "I thought you were coming over here to make me go back outside." Belldandy turned her head around to look up at Jasmine. "Auntie Jasmine.." she blushed a little deeper at the compliment.

She fixed Truths with her best smile, which was small and didn't actually look sad. "I like your beard, it makes you look wise." She nodded knowingly and sipped at her tea.

"I’m not picking on him" Shrill X whined loudly. "He can handle it no problem." She was pouting, cheeks puffed out. "And don’t ruin my fun. Ugh." Despite her protests, Revenant had efficiently let the wind out of her sails and she backed off, giving a big sigh and flopped over sideways on the table.

"We did all that?" Shrill X was giving Hard Truths a dubious look, as if he’d just made up their past together. "I don’t remember- oh wait, yes I do. I was not about to fall to my death, I-hey, don’t walk away! What an a-hole. I know you’re talking about me over there!"

Normally Revenant’s suggestion of 'tea and quiet' would have been scoffed at immediately, but her head was starting to spin a bit, so Shrill X closed her eyes and was blessedly silent for a good few minutes.

Not that it lasted long.

"Would it be weird," she started to ask in a normal voice which was still loud enough for the entire room to hear, "to have a threesome if one of them is your cousin?" There was a brief silence. "Hypothetically speaking of course. And can somebody go get me bucket, I think I’m going throw up. No… wait… I’m good."

Looking up, Truths smiled back at the other crimson unicorn, having not noticed her previously. Were his eyes failing him? "Hello, Jasmine," he greeted. "What a pleasant surprise to see you here. I had no idea you had such an...extensive family." Mother's other set of children, huh? Now that sounded like a complex family tree. "And what name might your little lady of a great-niece go by?" he asked, glancing back at the unicorn filly. "I was just thinking of how much she reminded me of you."

"Mm, I can understand that," the stallion answered Belldandy. "Now why would I shoo such a sweet, quiet foal minding her own business outside? Honestly, I wish more foals were like you and Jasmine." He beamed back at her, amused, as she blushed and offered him a small smile of her own. "Does it, now? What a nice compliment. It might explain why Shrill hates it so, considering she seems to be the exact opposite." His last word was spoken with an edge, though he took care not to raise his voice too much. It was just enough to hear himself over Shrill's yelling at him - and maybe for her to hear, too.

When she continued with her inappropriate chatter, Truths abruptly turned back around to confront Shrill. He managed not to shout in response, but the resulting urgent growls were forced past gritted teeth instead. "There are foals around here, you ninny! Can't you even behave among your own relatives?" He seemed to be trying very hard not to let Belldandy hear.
