Kiessi continued forward, not entirely sure where they were going exactly. They were still awestruck by all the carvings on the wall and were paying more attention to them than where they were going. They had been completely lost in thought when they heard a small growl, he turned to look to see the vespercat that had been following them hissing at a new vespercat. The new one lazily walked toward Kiessi, not seeming at all to care that the other first one didn't like it. He tried to stop the two of them from fighting when the new one touched their leg and made Kiessi fall over. They frowned, rubbing their nose when they got up. Why did this have to happen to them?

Cass turned back, going through the corridor back the way that he had come. The blue little vespercat that he had found earlier was following behind, easily keeping up with him though it did get distracted sometimes when it saw a bug to chase. He smirked a little, it seemed like the cat liked bugs as much as he did.
Somewhere along the way he had taken the wrong turn and came down a corridor he had never been in before. He turned his head, noting that some of the pictures were of Naga with wings. He fluttered his own wings for a second, trying to puzzle what that could mean, but he honestly had little clue.
Combining the following; 16: You hear tiny footsteps, growing louder. Is it a ghost? A monster? Oh -- it's just a familiar! You may pick 1 familiar. 18: A familiar approaches you, sniffing curiously! You may pick 1 familiar. 7: You come onto a dark corner, and you feel around on the ground to see if you can find something. Success! You may pick 1 trinket.
So, there was probably a reason this area was locked off, huh?
Sprite wasn't usually one for being spooked by the spirits, and, being a medium, usually welcomed them...if they weren't malicious. But with all the bad luck they were currently having, the footsteps coming from the forbidden area was enough to make them start buttscooting away in a bit of a panic, not wanting to stand up since their left ankle was starting to throb and actually hurt quite a bit. When they'd managed to buttscoot into a corner where it seemed that they would either have to get up and run, risking falling into yet ANOTHER hole, or allow whatever spirit was coming...do what spirits in ruins do. Neither option really seemed interesting, so Sprite entered into their defense mechanism; Close your eyes, curl up, and hope for the best.
The footsteps came closer...and closer...and closer...Until...
'Yip!'
Opening one turquoise eye, Sprite gazed down at a little black fennekit snipping at their hooves! And close behind, a really pretty striped vespercat, both of them having come from the roped off area, if the pawprints were followed. Both the little familiars sniffed for a few moments, until Sprite let out a breath. Then, they went still.
"Thank goodness..." Sprite sighed, holding a hand out to the familiars. The fennekit came closer first, and once sprite was giving it lots of scratches and pets, the vesper jealously paced closer as well to occupy Sprite's other hand. Not to be outdone, the fennekit decided to take up Sprite's lap, which caused them to giggle softly.
"I'm glad you two came along. I was getting kinda spooked." Another spook happened when they reached behind them to adjust their tail from being squished, their hand brushing against a strange rock! It was so surprising that they almost didn't grab it but thankfully the desert rose was shoved itno their hoodie pocket.
12: You go down a corridor. It's dark, but you decide to continue. You fall into a 1 foot-deep hole. Ouch!
With no sight of Cyril, Jacintha decided to go forward and explore the ruins on her own, heading down a dark corridor without a light source. Maybe he went in without her? Probably not, but she did want to start exploring the ruins some. As she was thinking about this she ended up not looking where she was going and well into a hole, catching her breath from the sudden adrenaline. Okay, so there were holes. She was just glad she hadn't hurt herself during that fall. Now she knew to be careful and to watch where she was going. Hopefully she would meet up with Cyril soon and the two could explore the ruins together.

Shion had just about had enough of this place, and was ready to just bolt out and hide in the bus until it was time to leave! If it wasn't statues staring the bejeezus out of him, it was noises making his anxiety spike so high he--
The hissing noise made him stop and turn around. Well, a coatl was nothing to be scared of, as a matter of fact, he liked these little guys. As soon as Shion smiled and knelt down, the little thing slithered over and up and around his arm. Well, that wasn't such a bad surprise! The statue earlier was probably a sign...
Horus sighed and maneuvered to get up considering his foot had stopped throbbing. He was sitting there in the dark and considering his luck so far would probably get overlooked. Then he would be stuck here forever. Okay so maybe that was a bit morbid but damn it he was going to see this temple and ruins if it was the last thing he did, and he couldn’t see it just sitting here.
However luck had other plans and a light caught his attention. It had to be from the glow from his flashlight. Considering the rest of his luck he wasn’t going to stick his face anywhere near that hole. Which was a good call considering a spider crawled out moments later? Horus took the shoe he had taken off during the tripping incident and smashed it into the wall. Nope, not chancing the spider at all.
Aurora picked up a bag of chocolate coins she had found in the ruins, she was feeling better she picked it up and pulled out a few to eat. Then she went to look for others to explore the ruins with. She was getting a little lonely and wanted someone to chat with her familiars couldn't help with that after all. So other beings it was. Aurora smiled at the others when she found an area that had other students and chaperones in it. "Anyone want to walk around the ruins with me?" She asked the others looking around to see who was there.

After examining the wall for a few more minutes, Anu swiftly turned around and resumed searching for the source of the falling-down noise. Soon she spotted Suhail nearby. Picking up the pace to see if he was okay, her foot kicked something and sent it skittering ahead. Pouncing on it swiftly, Saiya held it beneath their paw until Anu caught up to her familiar. Reaching down to pick it up, she turned it over in her paw and watched it glint in the light. This one almost looks like me... She thought with a chuckle, putting it in her pocket where it nestled alongside the one she had found earlier.

Coco had just left the carving with the winged nagas on it when she felt something felt against her leg. Coco looked down and thought the fennekit was covered in mud at first, but then realized it was its natural markings. "Hi there are you joining my group too?" Coco said cheerfully. Even after all that had happened to her she was loved, if all these familiars liked her, maybe Calypso could still love her, and if Calie didn't want to love her anymore. Coco knew in her heart she would find someone else to love her instead, Coco had a warm good heart.
Aedus picked up a green stone that he spotted on the ground then he said down to eat some candy and chill with his familiars, it made him happy. He loved hanging out with familiars as he always had. He yawned and then took a drink from his canteen. He wondered how long they had been at the ruins. Then he took a snack bar out of his bag, maybe he was a little tired since he hadn't eaten much since he had been running around the ruins chasing after familiars. Most of which Aedus hadn't been able to find.
A lone eyebrow raised at the murmured phrase. Too tall? The cherub was more along the height of Kanda, his freshling, than him. “You did no harm,” was all he said in response. He removed his hand in time for him to step away. The rest of his words were muttered too quietly for him to catch. “Say again?” It was a quiet request, one he wouldn’t mind being ignored. “Hello again Vanna,” he said as he caught sight of the other behind him. "Looks like you found a new friend as well." Then he squatted to pick up the angrily hissing coatl. A muted glimmer caught his eye, and he picked up the gemstone from the floor.
Coatl in hand, he lightly stroked the scales of his new pet. It was a striped brown, and kept tasting the air in a pleased manner now that he was holding it. Vüsala’s free hand went up to catch the liquid, and he wiped it off on his shorts after seeing it was just water. “Just water, you alright?” He wouldn’t say it, but the cherub was almost amusing.

Suhail felt a bit of relief when Anukhet seemed to be okay. Having grabbed a picture of the carving for posterity, he proceeded to follow her around a bit. "Find something interesting?" he asked. His right ear flicked as he heard a scuttling noise. "I'm going to go see what that is. Wait here." He had a feeling that she could take care of herself, but if something dangerous was afoot again, he didn't want her to be in danger.
When he went down the corridor, he thought he saw a Vespercat-shaped silhouette slip out of sight. There was no sign of the familiar, but there was a blue rock shining in a heap of pebbles on the ground. He scooped it up and inspected it in case it had some sort of significance to it. There didn't seem to be any, but he would keep it on hand. "It's safe here," he called back.
Who had called for him? He’d turned around and started to make his way back to the main tunnels where the rest of the group was, but a familiar caught his eye. There had been a couple other split offs that he hadn’t paid attention to, and this pet just happened to go down one of them. Startled –what was a kidden doing down here- he turned down that path too.
Only to find that the kidden was nowhere in sight, but there was a bag of coins in the middle of the floor instead. What was something like that doing down here? Who would bag up coins and then just leave them in the middle of the floor. They looked really old too! Cyril picked them up, studying them. Or maybe they were chocolate? That was. . . disappointing. Well, he could share them with someone maybe? They’d probably melt in the heat.
