Kidder- Angry Hippie Noodle takes on Bats.

---

"BEAT IT!"

Enough was enough, was enough. Coma's. Costumes. Crazy chicks nearly killing his best friend, and now this. All he wanted was to buy some damn goofy wings. He was going to buy damn goofy wings, and no stupid bats were going to stop him.

He wasn't sure what matrix level rage master he tapped into, but he found something in him was too furious to care that they were theoretically animals, they were massive, fanged monsters that could easily permanently disfigure him or his friends, and he just... grabbed for those huge, necessary leathery wings and just hauled them out of the air, determined to co-opt their steering and pile drive them into the sidewalk and street.

He was probably while yelling furiously, he wasn't even sure but still feeling lightheaded but too angry to care. It just loaned him a sense of dizzy divorcement from the situation and let him throw around the creatures in ways he'd never have dreamed of if they hadn't been attacking him and his friends.

Rolling over a Bat that got too low was maybe not the most dramatic way to defeat a giant bat, but hey, he'd take it. Knocked low, maybe by someone else's assault, they were awkward at best on the ground, and backing over it a few times resulted in some unpleasant noises and a downed bat. Lena was going to take a hose and bleach to the the wheels, but hey, at least it was one bat that wasn't biting anyone.

"Still tougher than you, jackasses."

Jason Wolf
Somehow, someway even though Jason was covered in scratches and tons of bites, he managed to get up and fight the bats along with his brother. He wasn't sure how he was doing it, perhaps it was adrenaline rushing through his veins, but he wasn't going to give up without a fight! And with his brother there protecting him, they could do almost anything! Including fighting off some weird swarm of giant mutant bats!

Tom Wolf
Tom felt relief flood through him as his brother managed to get up and fight the bats off. However, Jason would still have to be taken to a hospital after this, he was missing chunks of skin for goodness sake and covered in blood! This was why he didn't want his brother to come here! Sure, he couldn't have predicted giant bats, but still, it just showed how dangerous this city really was! He would have to have a talk with Jason after this to see if his brother still wanted to stay here.

Emily Wilet - FITE THE BIG BATS
((Yes I forgot to RP write yesterday. RL et me. Shhh, I wanted my roll in, pretend she was a derp. who scored like, a 4, cause she did.))

OK, so the last trick of throwing dirt clods hadn't been great, but as the abnormal-looking giant bats began emerging (What were those, youma, or freaking genetically created vampire-flying fox hybrids!?), Emily utterly hissed, before grabing a suspiciously large branch and using it to swing at the large bats. She grinned at the success, inspecting her newfound defense as she took some swings to fend them off, cackling madly at last.

"What, you little tarts? Can't stand the taste of defeat? Bawwww. Bawwwww."

Oh, sure, mocking them was dumb, but it was somehow fun. Then again, common sense also wasn't part of Emily's lexicon.

Allison Abson - THE BATS HAVE OFFENDED THE HONOR OF MY FAMILY FITE
((Again, RL yesterday. Ally rolled an 8! SHE MANAGED NOT TO GET HURT MOAR!))

Just as the smaller bats began to wind down and thin out, giant bats emerged, and they looked mean. Ally hissed as a hand, previously throwing punches at a bat swarm, finally found a metal baseball bat, and a rather dark grin spread on her face, a devilish glint in Ally's eye.

"Good afternoon, Betsy," Allycrooned, withdrawing the robber-repelling bat out with flourish. Finally, SCA heavy fighting practice had a functional use, and the teen was glad she was allowed it for releasing aggression - because she dove for some larger bats, ignoring the camera crews to begin fighting the bats off almost - but not quite - artfuly.

"Naughty little beasties." Ally drawled, the silver metal glinting in the dimmed light. She did, however, grin. "Something the matter? Perhaps it's the new friend? Whatever's wrong with Betsy? She's dying to meet you,"

Ally spun, and lashed Betsy at a bat coming up behind, smirking.

"Surely you know better than to attack a member of the resident kingdom's heavy fighters? No? Pity."

Sean Jones: fighting (die 1 - minor injuries)

Sean had to face the facts: trying to hide was not working out. The bats were just everywhere and...wait, were they pulling back? He peeked out from under the table to find that the oversized bats did seem to be withdrawing, but... OK, his vision was fuzzy now, probably from blood loss. Maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him. He shook his head, rubbed his eyes and hopefully looked again. Nope, the sight was the same; the bats seemed to be moving aside only in favor of even larger bats that were hovering just above. And those looked big enough to knock the whole table over to get at him.

With a sigh, he used the temporary lull to stand back up, wobbling slightly from lightheadedness. He grabbed onto the edge of the table to steady himself and tried to focus on the bats. Since swinging a plush at them had been useless before, he opted to swipe at them with his own two hands when the bats descended.

As before, the bats left more nicks and cuts on him, but at least this time he was managing to knock them away before they did any real damage. He didn't know how long he'd be able to keep it up, however.

Alerana Ikaros: fighting (die 2 - minor injuries)

As Rana punched one more bat away, she was surprised to see that no other bats seemed to be attacking her. She grinned and triumphantly said, "Hah! Had enough of me, did you?" But her excitement was short-lived, because she soon heard even more flapping and looked up. Even more ridiculously massive bats had made an appearance, then they were taking over the assault. There was nothing for it but to grit her teeth and keep fighting.

These ones were harder to keep away, and she got a few nicks and scrapes for her trouble, but she continued to fend them off. This was beyond ridiculous, though. How do bats this big and savage even exist?

Lucas Haynes - Watching his boss get dropped...

Lucas quickly closed the space between him and Jessie, hoping to keep these larger bats off her, but only able to do so much. Sadly, he wasn't able to really fend them off. Hissing a bit as he fought with the bats. Sadly, there was not much he could do - and so he too got dropped after the swarm descended, leaving him on his knees with a bit of a woozy head.

Mercy Haynes - Still trying to hold out.

She had, to her credit, done her best to try and cover Nick's body with her own, but sadly, no amount of trying to bat at the bats was doing her any good. When the larger ones descended, she was already fairly nicked and nibbled on, having just pulled Nick as close to her as she could and then, with what little strength she had had left, she had kicked out at one.

She had fended it off for a good minute before it finally got a good bite on her, and at that point it was all over. She simply did what she could to prevent Nick from having as much surface area as possible against the bats, but it was barely enough.

She ended up blacking out, hoping that she would wake up.

Alexandre Evans

As he continued to face off against the bats, he really had no intentions of backing down, he noted the bats seemed to be..retreating? That was never a good idea, time fighting in a war had told him that. It told him to be cautious and not to start celebrating - this wasn't over. He was sure there was more, and soon there was.

The fresh troops, if he wanted to think of in that way, came in and they were bigger and looked just a bit more intimidating. Had someone been feeding the local bat population steroids or something? He had no idea but what bats, that were native to here, could get to be this big? It didn't seem normal or possible, and he really hoped the Negaverse wasn't involved in some manner.

Even as he thought that he was fending off the larger, fiercer, bats though a few did manage to get through and bite at him or claw him. Nothing too major but still he had a small trail of blood going down his face from where a claw had gotten him. His shirt was staining on the upper left sleeve with blood from a bite as well, that was unnoticed by him but once it was he would not be happy - blood stains were hard to remove. While he was fending off the bats he chanced a look to Aiden and too note of the other being attacked, not that he was surprised considering these bats behavior, but he made his way toward him. "Looks like I get to play doctor tonight." He called out, teasing, even as he smacked another bat that had just bitten him.

Seung Kim

He'd continued to fight the bats, hoping to aid in ending this attack, but when they seemed to be retreating, the numbers thinning, he'd felt like something bigger was about to happen. He didn't know why but a sense of dread hit him, horror movies taught a lot when in situations like this, so when the bigger bats arrived he wasn't too surprised but he was concerned. His concern was for himself and his younger cousin who was trying to fend off the bats as well. He wanted to yell, and shout, at her to hide but he didn't think hiding was an option at this point.

It was when he was turned to look at his cousin, to make sure she was ok, that he was attacked and unable to pry the bite off himself, as they seemed to be clinging to him, that he felt his vision getting dark around the edges and his legs get weak. A dizzy spell hit and just as the bat let go, and took off to someplace else, he felt himself falling but didn't feel himself hit the ground - already unconscious.

Eunkyung Lee

The bats finally seemed to be backing off, as many seemed to be leaving, but as they vanished she saw something even more terrifying. She was not expecting what came next, the larger bats, it was worrisome as she watched them descended upon the fairgrounds. She heard some screams and shouts, she noted a person, off to her left, running out of a hiding spot with a bat attacking them.

Well, hiding now wasn't an option it seemed. She saw her cousin looking at her every so often. She knew he wished she had run, that she wasn't here, but she wasn't going to leave him here! They were family and she was not going to run from this.

Fending off the attacks, finding herself accumulating bite marks and scratches, she took the free moment she had to look at her cousin. Her dark eyes went wide as she watched a bat leaving her cousin and him just...drop. "Seung!" Calling out to her cousin she moved closer to him to try and keep his downed form safe. Smacking another bat she hoped to keep them both safe, and get them both out of here when this was over...but how? She wasn't going to be able to drag him away from this. He should go to the hospital anyway.

Caely

She staggered a few steps before standing still while squinting as her vision blurred, willing her eyes to refocus. Caely kept her arms up and tensed with fists for protection but withheld any punches for the time being as zooming figures of black she assumed to be the bats in the area hurried around her but didn't make contact with her as of yet in a similar fashion as a previous instant moments ago that had her suspecting teeth had met the flesh of one of her arms at one point. Methodically she sent her careful gaze scanning from right to left to take her mind off the throb of pain from the aforementioned bat bite and to avoid dizzying herself as she struggled to regain her bearing.

She heard Myles again rather than saw him yet, and replied with partial awareness and an accompanied attempt at a bit of humor, "I'm not thrilled with our party crashers."

And then, her eyes were assaulted with a growing black form. A bat was barreling towards her but in those seconds she resolutely stepped towards it with as much calculated timing as she managed to muster. And, with a forward push of her foot, she forcefully kicked said bat into retreat while executing practiced balance from years of dance and more recently begun martial arts lessons.

"Phew," with no large blackness swiftly filling her immediate vision again in the seconds that followed, Caely concernedly asked about the well-being of Myles and the booth guest like herself in kind, "Have the bats injured you?"

Colin Hargrove with Vanessa Rae [6-1 = 5 minor damage]

Okay, so this was not the sort of evening that he'd had in mind when he'd invited Van to dress up and come with him. Things had started out fine, but then there were bats and while he'd managed to drag his friend under one of the midway booths, hiding under the table skirt and peeking out at the insanity that came from said bats attacking civilians, eventually they had to try to get out and get away.

And that was when they noticed the bats absconding, which was good. What wasn't quite as pleasing was the fact that there were new bats coming in. Bigger, meaner looking ones. And those suckers seemed to really have it in for folks - including he and Vanessa. "Oh come on!"

Colin grabbed for Vanessa's hand again, pulling her into his arms to shield her from one of the swooping bats; he had to use one arm to flail at the awful thing after it scratched his cheek. Then he remembered that he had something more useful than just his hands - he had the shield. It was magnetized to the harness on his back, so pulling it away was a bit difficult and he got bitten keeping the beast from his face, but once he had the overgrown red, white, and blue metal Frisbee, he used it to batter the giant bat until it left them alone for easier prey. "Ugh, are you okay?"

Things would have been a lot easier if they'd transformed, but...it wasn't safe. There wasn't a safe space for it, so they'd just have to make do. "Let's get out of here--" With the replica shield to use as an actual shield and Vanessa at his side, Colin started to make his way through the panicking throng of civilians, whacking at any of the giant monsters that came near enough for him to do so.

He was dressed the part, so...really, how could he not?

Kit Paine - attempting to defend Evren (and detracting 1 for missing a previous roll!)
"I don't know," Kit answered, shaking his head helplessly. "They just seemed to come out of nowhere. I noticed the sky was getting darker, but I was looking around, not up, so I didn't see why until just now. I wonder what they want," he murmured. "You probably know more about animal behavior than I do, but there's no reason for them to come here and attack like this, is there?"

He watched as they set upon the food carts, confirming that the bats were driven by hunger. The food didn't seem to be enough for them, however, when it seemed they were trying to bite at people as well. "Damn...I wonder if these are vampire bats..." Not the ones from stories, of course, but the real ones that were known for biting to draw blood and drinking that. To Kit's knowledge, they usually they went for animals more docile than humans, however, like chickens and cows. And he'd never heard of them swarming in huge colonies to feast like this.

"...Is it just me, or do they seem to be getting more aggressive?" The more the bats were attacked, the worse the unhurt ones seemed to fight back. It seemed to be very un-bat-like behavior. Eventually, from their shelter in the back of a stall, Kit thought people must have been successful in beating back the swarms because their numbers seemed to decrease.

In the space visible where the multitude had been, though, a new group of much larger bats appeared. These were much fewer than the first wave, but with nine-foot wingspans and teeth as sharp as meat cleavers, it didn't look like hiding in the back of the stall would be enough to avoid them.

"Evren," Kit said his voice calm and measured. "Stay behind me." Slowly, gingerly, he stood and walked out from under the stall to confront the unnatural monsters. So many other people seemed to be trying to fight back; he figured it was about time he tried to do the same.

Evren Porter- Attempting Attack Minus one for missing a roll

Evren pouted but a bit but did what Kit sugested. Following close by everything seemed to go well... that is until a bat flew by and Evren smacked it so it fell to the ground. "Oh my god I'm so sor- Ouch." As she bent down to help it, the bat had bit her in the arm.

"Well that's not nice at all..." Evren blinked. "Oh my eyes stopped working..." To which she then fell strait on the ground and passed out.
