Evren- Attempting to hide with Kit

Evren smiled and waved at kit but the next she knew she was covered by Kit's coat and their where bats swarming around. "What's going on?" They then tried making their way over to a stall and she attempted to look around at all the creatures.

Blinking she did her best to remain under the cover they got to. "Why are bats out? I wonder what happened to make them behave like this..."

There were bats coming. A completely large swarm of her sort of critter, and they were angry. It would have been a fascinating thing to watch, bar for two things - She had a booth to tend to the defense of, and her adoptive mother was present and probably needed a minute to grab Betsy, so, Ally rolled under the table, and back out, weilding a fork and a battle cry.

"AYIYIYIYIYIYI--"

OK, so it might be a little over the top...

Only to be swarmed by a horde of highly disgruntled, angry, claw-y, scratch-y, ANGRY bats.

"PBBT!@ PFTTH! PBBBBBT! s**t ******** PISS c**k OW OW OW OW ******** OOOWWW!"

Mercy Haynes - defending her boyfriend from bats!

Mercy had been enjoying the time with Nick, so when the two bats came streaking and smacked into him and he started to flail, she hissed in anger and attempted to swat them off him, only to suddenly get blindsided by some of her own. She attempted to swat these off as well, unable to get to her bag as she did the only thing she could think of.

Dropping down to where Nick had ducked down as he'd swatted the bats, she pulled him close to her and covered him mostly with her body. "Calm down and hold still!"

She tried to swat the occasional attacking bat, but she conuldn't get a good angle of attack on them.

Marlin is attempting to fight

"I do have a few of those that might suit" Marlin said as he carefully sorted through the masks that he had bought along so that he could restock as needed before pulling a few masks.

The first was a blue and black half mask with patterning done in glitter, whilst the other two were 'owl-like' with one in black tipped white and the other in shades of brown.

He could hear Elaine speaking to the older of the pair (Tom) as he carefully laid out the masks so that the other (Jason) could get a better look at them.

Elaine for her part had shaken her head as she carefully picked up one of each of the requested biscuits and carefully popped them into a bag "Sorry we don't have any bottled water..." she started.

Marlin had been looking at the male in front of him, but something in the tone of Elaine's voice had had him looking over in her direction and then his head had turned sharply at the sound of sudden screeching.

He wasn't expecting bats - but they were indeed bats - huge bats...

And Marlin was pretty sure that he hadn't seen so many bats together before - ever. "Elaine get under cover" he called before looking at the two males as he continued as he tried to swat at one of the bats that had come too close "You should probably try to find some cover too."

"It's okay, I was just curious", was Tom's reply before he saw what the swarm really contained. He quickly nodded at Marlin, agreeing with his suggestion of finding cover though he also wanted to protect his brother. He had to make a split second decision as to whether or not he should stay and fight or run away. Unfortunately his fighting skills weren't quite that good against giant-bat-things and he only felt comfortable really fighting while he was in his powered form, so trying to find cover it was.

He couldn't find anything that seemed as if it would hold up for long though, and only managed to find cover behind a stand for a bit. Unfortunately they hadn't really explored the festival enough yet to tell if there were any permanent fixtures they could take cover. At that moment though he realized that his brother was not with him and looking back into the crowd, he could tell the bats were heading straight towards him.

How could he let that happen to his brother?! He felt total fear as he watched and then tried to go out and grab his brother to try and save him. Unfortunately the bat swarm was too much.


Jason Wolf
Although the blue and black/white owl masks were quite good looking, it was the brown colored one that caught his interest the most. However, before he could say anything, he noticed that everyone around him was looking in the same area and he had only just turned around and noticed the giant bat swarm. "What the-!?" Jason couldn't believe it. His brother had warned him that this town could be dangerous, but he couldn't have ever imagined something like this!

He tried to run for cover where his brother was, however fate had decided that tripping would be what happened to him at this point, and so he fell to the ground. He had managed to keep himself from hitting anything hard at least, however all he could do at this point was to cover the back of his head and curl up into a ball so that he could protect his vital organs as he was scratched and bit.

Lilith is trying to flee!

Halloween was, without a doubt, Lilith's favorite holiday season. The ghost tours through the city, the parties, the sounds and smells of the different festivities.... it all delighted her in ways she couldn't always articulate. Never mind the number of books and short stories that would pop up online, and the documentaries or other shows...

She'd left Raja at home, warm and cozy in the canine's bed. Not that the service dog had any issues being in crowds, but Lilith had felt confident enough with her cane and the fact she was going to the festival with Sakura. She'd held the hope that they could just have a fun evening out, eat silly festival food, play games, just.. have fun.

When the seemingly inevitable for public events came though, Lilith didn't waste time groaning or lamenting about another night lost. Instead, she focused on trying to keep Sakura from going after the beasts she could hear--and smell, ew--all around them. She didn't want to imagine what the creatures were doing, from the screams she could hear... "Sakura, now, we have to get to cover!" One hand yanking hard on Sakura's arm, the other keeping her cane out--but hopefully not far enough out to trip someone...--she sought a place to hide. At least until they had a moment to group and figure out what was going on, and how to best respond. There were too many people to transform...

By luck, Lilith managed to find a still standing stall, and ducked into it, crouching down in her skirts and sweater, head turning this way and that as she listened to the commotion around them. "Ok... what are you seeing? Can we get people out of here? Is whatever is out there too big to take out?" She wasn't avoiding a fight. She was just trying to be smart about things.

“Ahh! A-R-I-A-NNN!!!” Eleonora let out a startled scream as a bat's wing brushed against the side of her head. The bag of sweets she held onto came up in a high arc effectively swatting the creature out of mid air.

It seemed stunned for a moment as it looked around somewhat confused before taking flight once more. A small victory but one that wouldn’t be enjoyed for very long as more continued to swarm the festival grounds.

Not wanting to stick around, her hand shot out and grabbed ahold of Arian’s. Bats were cute and all… at a zoo, or as a beanie baby, or even as a halloween decoration for all she cared. But not like this… This was like that Alfred Hitchcock movie but instead of birds it was freaky flying foxes.

With so many swooping down and attacking other fair goers there was not much any single person could do, not as they were anyway, and swinging a paper bag like the strength test game with the mallet would only end up with a mess on the ground. Breanna really doubted that pastry sweets would serve as any distraction for the blood sucking fiends.

“If we make it out of here, don’t you dare tell my sister I screamed!” Bri pointed her index finger at him as a mock threat since they both knew she wouldn’t actually do anything if he told.

Truth be told Aiden didn’t even hear what Alexandre had said with all the hollering and screaming that erupted around them.

With nothing to defend themselves with he quickly shrugged his jacket off and tossed it over his partner's head as a makeshift cover “Come one! Got to find some place to hide!” he instructed. One arm draped over Alex’s shoulders, he did what he could to keep the bats from attacking the both of them while guiding his boyfriend towards one of the buildings he hoped would provide some shelter from the darkening sky full of bat wings, claws and sharp teeth.

Considering she had attended the festival with looming thought in the back of her mind that something was bound to happen, it was near halloween after all, Mei was not as surprised or caught off guard as she otherwise would have been if she weren’t already use to this sort of mess. Granted quite a bit of time had passed since the last big attack she couldn’t help but wonder. “Of all the days this could have happened why did it have to be today?” The festival was going on for a few days wasn’t it?

Being this far away from the mass crowd of civilians had its advantage as the bats seemed more concentrated where the most bodies were located. Some still flew out towards the east entrance but they were few and far between as others who had been standing in line to get on scattered and were heading to their cars.

Instead of following, the creme haired young woman ducked into an abandoned stall and hid beneath a display table that had a very pretty purple cloth draped over the top of it so she could send a quick text to Delilah. “Don’t wait up, I doubt I’ll be able to find you.”

Her hand instinctively reached into her side bag, where her henshin pen was kept, then paused. Three years later it was safe to say Mei understood the limits of her magic fairly well. Nine targets was next to nothing when compared to the number of bats flying around and that was hoping she actually hit the animals and not a civilian by accident. The last thing she needed was a repeat of what happened in Negaspace; a surprising mishap she couldn’t seem to forget.
