Nagual curled up her legs and sat-layed where she was. It was more comfortable that lying flat. She returned Yei's nuzzling with earnest. "Uuuuh... that was not fun." Her good-naturedness was returning, as well as her eyes clearing and ears popping as they unclogged. "Remind me not to eat berries that are not yet riped again...."

Kislin went to the baskets and sniffed at them. The one with the flames shook a bit as if in response. The ferret jumped back, his assumptions confirmed. He knew exactly who the father of these foals were.

Her mind was not as cloudy, so as she turned to gaze at the baskets, Nagual considered the words. "My... children?" Was it true? Surely, the baskets diiid have a bit of her coloring and pattern. A surge of pride soared through her.

Sanika heard the instructions. She couldn't help but snort and yell back, "Coward!" Men..... they can beat people bloody, hunt, kill, skin... but when it came to births they were so.... gah!

"Berries," Yei repeated, her eyes becoming somewhat sad. She shook her head from side to side and simply nuzzled the mare, her own gaze trailing to the baskets. They were beautiful and Yei could already see them as part of her rather 'dsyfunctional' family, regardless of their origins she would protect them...although she couldn't say the same for the father.

"Nagual, berries...well, berries don't make foals." She explained in a somewhat uncertain voice, unsure of whether or not it was a good idea to elaborate any further. "They're beautiful Nagual, absolutely lovely." She added softly and cast a small and appreciative smile towards them.

"But they certainly appear to be big, no wonder you were so encumbered!" She teased in a dutiful manner, her ears twitching as Achak murmured something incoherent in response to Sanika - it seemed like he as returningher insult though.

"...Maybe you should get cleaned up." She finished, her smile somewhat sheepish as she tried to subtly point out that the mare needed a small bath.

Gren seemed to have the same idea though, and the 'protector' instinct within him soon flicked into action as he lifted his eyes to the sky and called for the infamous kalona to return - said stallion swooped down within seconds and before Gren had even asked, the creature had swooped up the after birth and had vanished again.

...The phoenix pulled a face at this, it was somewhat grotesque but he supposed it had to vanish somehow and it would satiate the kalona's hunger for at least a short while.

At least Achak hadn't seen that bit, the stallion had a suspicion he would have wretched.

Nagual gave Yei a look and stuck out her tongue. It wasn't swollen anymore, that was good. "Well, if it wasn't the berries, than what else could it be? Ashling seems to think stallions do it, but that's rediculous!"

The mare gave her friend a stricken look, "What, I don't look pretty anymore?" Though.... she did have to agree.... she felt just gross. Struggling to her feet, Nagual gave Yei a look, "Where's there a stream or something?" She shook out her coat, but it didn't help as he fur and hair was still flattened to her skin.

Sanika had finished with Nagual before the mare stood and went to the baskets. Setting a hand on each, she tried to get a hint of what was in them. She frowned, something wasn't quite right.... but she wasn't about to worry Nagual.

Kislin joined the human, her cloak in his mouth. It was slightly matted from sweat and dirt, but altogether was not the worse for wear. Sanika made a face and scooped the cloak up with the ferret, "I guess I have something to do now." She patted Kislin's head and then sat by the baskets. Taking out a bottle of liquid, the woman went to cleaning the cloak.

"Not now." Grencia approached the pair of females and shook his head slowly, his gaze directed at Yei who seemed to be struggling with her own mind. It was easy for him to once again take the brunt of her insults, it would save her the indecision and the discomfort that would have been caused to the new mother. Some things were better left unsaid, and reference to her apparent rape was one of them.

"But -" Yei bit back her own words and turned to gaze towards the wind soquili who had a stoic expression on his face. Even though she frequently shunned his presence, she now had to admit that his calm aura was something she needed at the moment...that odd sense of familiarity too.

"Go, I will stand guard and protect the baskets, you must wash." He ordered and gave a small bow before backing away and towards the baskets, one of which didn't seem right at all - even when Venom was in blood lust...well, even then he didn't feel this uneasy.

"Right." Yei gave a small and almost child-like sigh as she watched the stallion move away and then turned her gaze towards Nagual once more. "There's a reasonably deep stream slightly west of here, we can wash you up there." She cooed and began to make her way towards it. All in all, she was a mix of emotions, she was angry at the father of those foals but now...well now her friend was a mother and that filled her with happiness.

"But you'll have to make sure you bath properly in the lakes later." She added as an afterthought, her ears listening out for the tell tale trickle of rushing water.

Nagual didn't notice the exchange. Instead, she was eyeing the stallion, and then as Yei lead the way she followed light on her heels, tail held high. Even though her stomach drooped a little, it wasn't swollen nor heavy... and besides, she felt so much better!

As they approached the trickling noise, Nagual finally spoke, "Who was that?" Her eyes sparkled a little.

Sanika watched the soquili out of the corner of her eye while she cleaned the fur. When she saw Grencia's expression, her frown deepened. It seemed she wasn't the only one who didn't trust the flaming basket. "Ramoth" she said, under her breath. It was a name she had gotten from Nagual, as well as an image of a dark and firey demon... one that the mare trusted.

Kislin's head jerked to Sanika as she said the name. At that moment, how he would have liked to be able to speak to the human, to discuss this. He had seen the stallion once, and never liked him. But, like Sanika, the baskets were too similar to him to ignore.

"The wind or the kalona?" Yei replied somewhat wearily as she came to a halt by the stream and released a sigh. Admiring her own reflection, she wasn't surprised to see that her mane was stringey and her coat somewhat rough from dried sweat - she had run rather fast to make sure she had reached Nagual in time.

"The kalona is known as Venom, I found him near the waterfalls. I'd rather not talk abou the circumstances though." She shook her head as her expression grew troubled and then the moment was gone. Her face now unreadable she lowered her head to take a sip of water and then considered her next answer carefully.

"The wind is Grencia, we met during a blizzard." She finished, failing to elaborate in any manner at all, apparnetly he was an even more painful subject for her than the carnivorous kalona was!

Grencia gave what could only be described as a sneeze. Approaching the baskets, he caught the name on the female human's lips and lifted a brow. Choosing to ignore the sign that someone was talking about him, he canted his head to the side and glanced at the pair carefully.

"Who praytell, is Ramoth?" He enquired softly, pacing slightly to their left to inspect the baskets more closely, his eyes focused on the flaming one in particular. It didn't give off a 'deadly' aura, but it did smell of trouble...he would have to keep an eye on this one.

Nagual listened to the descriptions while she drank her fill. The refreshing water was welcome on her sore throat. When Yei finished, the mare didn't ask further. It seemed she didn't want to talk about it.

Nagual waited until Yei dropped her head to the water and then plowed in. She made a large splash and she duck her head under. The mare playfully took some water and after lifting her head from under she sprayed some of the liquid at the firey mare. Her laughter sounded.

---

Kislin looked to Grencia. "Ramoth is a kalona stallion... he's said he's a nightmare or something. Nagual considers him a friend... she is way too trusting." The ferret took a sad breath.

The little guy pointed to the flaming basket, "Ramoth has fire like that..."

Yei gave a squeal as the water intruded on her personal space and with a delicate laugh she leapt away from the waters edge and gave a toss of her head. It seemed that following the birth of the foals, Nagual had been instilled with new energy and it had left her feeling in better spirits - Yei had to admit that it was a relief to have her back to normality, even if the older mare did make a silent oath to make sure it never happened again.

"It seems you are feeling better." Yei mused teasingly as she leapt across the small stream to the otherside, lowered her head and gathered water in her cheeks. There was a pause and then she lifted it once more to spray the water back towards the younger mare.

"Are you not a little tired though?" She added increduously, the ordeal had looked rather exhausting.

---

"I see." Grencia's expression was unreadable as he shifted his weight and lifted his head. Although his gaze never left the basket he was well aware of what lay in his surroundings. To be entirely honest, he had never known Nagual but his sense of knightly honour made him feel sick to the stomach in regards to what the kalona had done - he supposed the race could in part, be the excuse for the ation but even he had expected something more honourable from the dark ones.

He was as bad as Paramekia, far worse perhaps.

And Grencia didn't like that.

Shaking his head, his expression clouded with something between anger and determination. Admittedly, Yei was completely unaware of who he was but the mere thought of anyone or anything choosing to hurt her, even indirectly infuriated him. It seemed he was going to have to keep a closer eye on her friends, especially the vulnerable...

"If I catch sight of him, I will be sure to greet him with all the pleasantries required." He muttered darkly.

Kislin growled, unusual for him. "If you see him, be sure to give him a nice nasty bite from me!"

Sanika looked up at the ferret's growl with an arched brow. He had never made that sound before. She didn't comment on it, and just looked down to work on the fur.

---

Nagual smiled brightly, "Feeling better, yes! I've just been miserable for months... and now... I feel just.... relief, gladness... this is time to celebrate!"

The mare ducked to try and avoid the spray of water, without any success. The water sprinkled down her face. She swam around, rubbed against a rock, and swam some more. "Yeah... I am tired as well... exhausted really... but. I just feel so great!" Nagual played some more in the water, making sure she was clean.

Finally, after awhile, Nagual got out of the water and found a nice grassy area to roll in. "Oh, that feels good...." roll roll. "Mrrr.... that's the spot.... Ooooo!" roll roll.

She stood up and shook. Her fur and mane sparkled cleanly. Nagual's wave curled again as it usually did. Her eyes had cleared after the wash and they sparkled once again. The only way anyone might of know what she had just gone through was her slightly distended belly.

"Can we go back?" Nagual looked at Yei, "I'd like to rest now."

They walked back quietly, Nagual didn't have a whole lot to say. Her head was held higher, but it was obvious that while she was in good spirits, she was also tired and with a little pain in her step.

---

When they entered the clearing, Nagual whickered to Sanika and Kislin. Sanika stood up, her fur clean and wrapped on again. "Nagual-An, you're looking much better!"

Kislin ran over and jumped light to Nagual's back. "It's much easier to stay on you without all the grease," he teased.

Nagual shook, trying to dislodge the ferret, "Hey, you try it sometime!"

"No, thank you," Kislin grumbled.

The mare went to the baskets and poked them tenderly. She, unlike the others, didn't get any bad vibes. They were both her children -or so everyone told her- and she loved them already. Lifting her head, she moved further down, away from the birthing sight, and lied down.

Sanika went to her, bring the baskets and jar of ointment with. She sat by the now-resting mare and took out new balm. The woman gave Nagual a massage while she rested. The mare purred in a very un-soquili way as Sanika rubbed the pain reliever in.

Yei smiled warmly as Nagual tentatively inspected the baskets, unlike Grenca she hadn't taken the time to assess them in any way and could only whicker gently. Even so, had she known what he had been doing she would have been furious, it was not his place to insult a child that was far too young to even comprehend the meaning of the word 'evil'.

Giving a wide yawn, she blinked in surprise as she took note of the fact that the wind soquili had disappeared. She would have suspected that he would have remained close by but so far -

"Over here." The voice cut through her thoughts and her expression grew thunderous.

He always seemed to know what she was thinking, she wasn't even sure how. She wasn't the most open of books, she prided herself on being that way so how in the world oculd he possibly know she was looking for him? She was half expecting him to answer already - but he didn't instead he remained quiet.

For a long while, the mare simply stood in place as she watched Sanika and Nagual, but after a few moments she finally swung round to examine the wind stallion who was now 'curled' up beneath the outcropping. He kept that pose everytime he slept or rested, she'd never really considered why but he seemed comfortable.

"Thank you." She murmured at last, causing him to lift a brow in surprise. "Without you, I do not think things would have gone so smoothly." She admitted, somewhat grudingly and shook her head...he said nothing in reply and that only annoyed her more!

"You need rest." Was all he said after a rather pregnant pause and lowered his head once more. She had considered a retort to this but she was aware of her own weariness and let it slip, no doubt she would snap at him for something later on...even when he never did anything wrong.

"Right." She replied softly, glancing around for a few more moments before returning her gaze to the stallion. He wasn't asleep, she knew that much, but she couldn't help but feel inclined to lie beside him in his given state. He appeared tranquil, inviting and as he shifted somewhat and stetched his wings, her stomach fluttered with a sense of familiarity.

Why...?

Tightening her jaw she continued to watch him before at last, tentatively making her way towards him. She could always blame it on exhaustion the next morning but for now - for now she just wanted to see whether she was right. And so, without a word she slowly edged her way towards the wind stallion and lay beside him.

One again, he said nothing but much to her surprise he stretched out his left wing and covered her form as though it were a blanket...She was at a loss for words at this.
