How is the Class of Shaman different from other magic users?
What sort of spells do they use?
Can they actually talk to spirits? (like a spirit of earth/wind/death/ghost/etc... ) Or
do t hey just control the elements and can make an elemental or something?

though I think you said (But please don't treat ghosts as canon and physical to Tendaji) to an early answer...

Also: the shop has yet to have any Shaman stuff added to it~ Like the spells and staff have not been edited to reflect the new class (just thought I'd mention it)

Answer

The shaman class can use both offensive and defensive spells, and can choose to master up to 6 spells from either side, while the other 6 can only be learned up to lvl2.

They are a mix of offensive and defensive basically, which also reflects in their special attacks.

They cannot talk to spirits, they just control the elements and train to be able to form elementals in battle.

Shaman class will use the same staff and spells as the other two magic classes so there is nothing left to add. Their weapon stats are the same as the regular staff weapon, and their spells are the same choices as the offensive and defensive spells that already exist. :]

Your answer raised more questions! XD Sorry for the huge post...

Can you please give me a bit more information on the types of magic?
Like what sort of RP effects do they have, how is manipulating the elements(shaman) any different from scratching a rune to summon an ice spear.(rune-mystic)

What does Rune magic actually do? Write a rune to summon an elemental something (wall, spear, gust of wind) like I've been doing?

Soul Linkers: how do they wield their magics? What exactly can they cast? What does their magic look like?

Scholars: are these like wizards? Witches? Cast from a book? What sort of effects do their spells have? Are they limited in what they cast?

Sorcerer: is this like the D&D sorcerer? Cast random with gestures and stuff? More destructive spells?

Shaman: Elementals: are these just constructs in your world? A golem made of elements that only acts when directed by its creator and vanishes after a while? Or are they intelligent? Like a Sylth that is it's own person just an element of air?

I am asking for world information here, not battle specifics. Battle I can do with out rp but solos and the like I feel like I am lacking in information to really write what Myrsky is doing with magic... Are there rituals that each class does? Or are the complicated rituals usually with one class and not the others? What can they actually do with thier magic?
Examples may be best to help me understand I guess. I'm about to focus on magic stuff for my next character XD Or even Sakhile!

Answer

This is really very open to interpretation. The most concrete thing I can answer is the shaman's elementals. These are golems made of the particular element but they do not have intelligence. They disperse after the magic has worn out and only follow the commands of their summoner.

The other magics are super duper open for whatever fits best with your character. If it helps I can come up with some examples, but how one person RPs might be completely different than how others RP their magic.

(I'm listing them from how I see it as most offensive to most defensive magic types)

Sorcerers cast destructive spells. They're the most offensive type of magic, using all elemental based and can cause pretty heavy destruction. I like to think that this is the class that their emotions can cause them to lose control and create damage.

Mystics use runes, though it's still offensive magic so it's along the same lines. I like to think that they're more in tune with themselves, but they can either carry pre-scribed runes with them, or even carve into the floor/tree/whatever with that they need to conjure.

Shaman use the elements and nature around them to do what they do. They're a mix of offensive and defensive, so they tend to use the elements to do both. Like use water to heal (or air or something), but can also cause damage. They use a staff so they're much like sorcerers in their casting, but they train toward summoning elementals.

Scholars use incantations to summon their spells. They have 'spell books' basically and verbalize their attacks. They're healers by trade, but can still use offensive magic, though it might be harder for them to learn/control. They're also the class I see as the most likely to use physical treatments for injuries, and not just straight magic. Like herbs and ointments.

Soul Linkers are like the most feely kind of magic. They are the kind to sense chakras, draw out the bad energy, spiritual types. They have sacred/enchanted beads as their weapons, but it's mostly a channeler or enhancer for their magic, which is more from their mind/soul (depending on how you want to use it).

They don't really have rituals that they do, but this is also up to the owner. If they want their to be rituals then that's totally fine, but it's just up to them.

What type of ceremonies for marriages do the different tribes have?

Is this a "You can make it up" thing.. or do you have any cannon ideas for outfits, rituals and the like.

Answer

This quest was mostly answered here, but that's as specific as we're getting with the description. The rest is most definitely a make it up as you go type thing :]

thank you!
I had another question...no idea if its also been asked.
How many characters are we allowed without art?

Answer

Characters without art do not receive any special treatment. They are still considered playable characters and have to balance out with your character slots, so the number depends on the owner.

I just want to clarify something about the Shaman class. I read the FAQ about Shamans only mastering 6 spells from either offensive and defense, while allowed to go to level 2 in everything else. And also that they have a staff.

But in the shop it doesn't say the spells or staff are allowed to be bought by the shaman class. Does that mean they can? I just want to be sure before I make my character commit to that route.

Answer

Yes, we haven't gotten around to updating the shop page yet, but the staff is the shaman's weapon, and all spells are open to the shaman with the rule that they can only master 6 out of the 12 spells.

Hello! I have a question about submitting a character for growth and outfit changes! Basically, if I do not have a clear idea on an outfit change or a piece of an outfit change, but I want it to change, do I still need to purchase an item for that change or can I just let the artist know?

Let's say I want the pants to change, but I don't have an idea in my head and I want to leave it up to CC, would I need to buy a cloak?

Or maybe I have a character who is a warrior, and I'm like "I'd love for him to hav e an outfit typical of an Oban Army!" but I honestly have no idea what that would be...would this be a case where I would work it out with the artist on the items to buy?

Answer

If you know you want it to change, but don't know exactly what you want it to change to, you would still have to buy items to ensure that things change.

So if for example it was something like an outfit typical of the Oban army, then to make sure it works out you would want to at least have 2 cloaks to change the top and bottom, and probably things like a belt, sheath, etc. Things beyond that aren't necessary.

What would the world's equivalent of 'Hell', 'Heaven' and 'Purgatory' be?

Would it differ based on what tribe is thinking/describing it?

Answer

It would most definitely depend on the culture. The Alkidike don't believe in a heaven or hell, they accept the circle of life and know that the dead's life energy rejoins Aisha after death to feed the natural world. The same idea goes for the leaf earthlings, that their bodies will feed the earth.

Most of the other earthlings have some sort of belief as to what their version of 'heaven' or 'hell' is like, but we'll leave it up to the owners to decide what their character calls it and envisions it as.

Can we RP events in our characters lives out of order? For instance... if I were to RP Istanell arriving back at Jauhar with his brothers and complete that RP... but a week later I decided to have an RP with someone involving a meeting between Istanell & Character X in Matori, which would have taken place before he got back to Jauhar?

(I know a similar question has been asked referring to things more like memories than 'current events' so... hope this isn't repetitive?)

Answer

Of course! As long as you know how your timeline goes, there's no issues. You can't go back in stages, like you can't RP as a prentice after they've grown to stage 2, but besides that there's no problems with jumping around.

Certain lands, like Matori, have really great natural boarders (like the cliff faces that separate Matori from Tale & Sauti) stating that Oba would be the only means of safe travel. Can we then assume that cutting through the borders in areas like Tale & Sauti into Matori is doable, just very dangerous and not common?

Answer

Yes. Northern Matori is the base of the cliffs that cut it off from the rest of Tendaji, leaving Matori with a ton of waterfalls, and sharp ledges that make it difficult to get through. Southern Tale also has dense almost impassible forests overgrown with vegetation so that's also a problem, making the only safe passage through Oba and up into Jauhar (hence the war's route). But it is possible to get from Matori to the others territories through these obstacles, just not wise and not very often tried.

I apologize if this is answered somewhere and I'm just unable to find it.
Can two characters under the same owner battle? Is there limits to how many times they can fight each other?
IE: Teiluj vs Aselia

Answer

The answer can be found here. But yes, two characters under the same owner can battle, and there is no limit for battles.
