Logging Fuel Depot The Fuel Depot is little more than an outpost; a few buildings here and there, a place to get out of the sun, and supplies enough for a few workers. However, there are several large tanks full of various fuel types for tools and machines so that they don't need to return to the main camp. Aside from the fuel tanks, the depot has a few garages, a shed full of supplies, and a guard shack that provides all the comforts of home. The depot sits near the edge of a dry riverbed, by the north shores of a rocky lake. While the depot may be small, its position between the river, the woods, and the plains makes it a crossroads.

"Guys! Guys!" a worker shouted, running into the small shack to rouse the other two men who were engrossed in an episode of Wheel of Fortune.
"It's started! They're going to war!"
"What the he-"
"Come on! We've got to get out of here! They'll come here for sure!"
"You can't be serious! THIS little place? It's like fighting over a newspaper stand."
"But... still! We're right in the middle of it all!"
"...I see your point. Okay, s**t... why the hell does this happen before the commercial? Get the keys, damnit."
The three men ran outside.

One of the men jumped into the driver's seat of a beat up old pickup. The other two hopped into the back. They would have revved the engine hard and gotten the hell out of there fast... except that reality sometimes sucks harder than the movies.
"...s**t..."
"Give it some gas!"
"I'm GIVING IT ******** GAS!"
One of the men from the back jumped out and ran around to the front, opening up the hood of the truck to try and find the problem.

"Damnit, don't go off on some fool errand!"

Rounding out to the depot Quin saw the truck, it was just starting up as a man was running for a shed. Coming to a stop infront of the truck Quin stood up and leaned on the bars which could be covered with a tarp of somesort to provide a top.
"What the hell you think you're doing? Get back to work, you're paid hazard pay for a reason."
Looking at the others, "Well? Who wants to do what now?"

Mooo pulled his map out of his pocket again, glancing down at it then back up to the driver.
"I think I'll stick around here for a little bit, get to see how the process o' things works around here. That'll help me a little more if the fighting reaches here."

"Aww, hell, man!" the man in the back of the truck shouted, "Nobody's got use for this damn place! We're saving our damn skins!"
The engine shut off.
"...I'm going back. The commercials should be over."
"We'll be fine... get back to work."
The driver got out, tucking the keys in his pocket, and headed back towards the shack.

"I'm with the map guy; sit here for a few, get the lay of the land," He took the gun in both hands now that they'd stopped, looking from side to side at the small buildings and fuel tanks.
"Things get too heated we've got the jeep to make a retreat, or at least beat them out with mobility," the half-golem was hardly a tactician, but he knew a few things.

"Damn Miners...damn Jeeps...damn stumps...DAMN IT ALL!"
With the final damn, Hein stopped right next to the jeep and the truck, a look of complete fury on his face as he stepped off the ATV and looked right over at Quin, his eyes furrowed as he glared venomously.
"What part of the word 'WAIT' do you not understand?! Honestly! You must be deaf in both ears or something! You are soo not cute!"

The words were smart, and the best thing they could do was fortify the current position. Looking in the jeep for anything that might be useful he pulled out the CB and hearing the static and general chatter of the camp clicked down and spoke.
"This is Quin, requesting troops for the fuel depot. Repeating asking for additional troops to fortify the fuel depot."
Looking to the others, "Well that gives us some time to plan our next move."
Hearing someone yell at him Quin was reminded of all the other times people did that. Looking the man up and down, for despite his appearance the person was still pretty much male.
"Well you managed to get here on your own so that doesn't matter any more now does it. Go make yourself useful and see if there are any weapons here."

Hopping out of the jeep, Mooo turned his attention to the very angry guy on the ATV, figuring he'd let the driver deal with it.
"That stump field is gonna be a b***h to fight in," Mooo chuckled to the grey-haired fellow he was taking the jeep ride with. "Then again, not many places I've seen here ARE gonna be all that easy to maneuver in."

"Ye', I'unno how much in the way of forces we can expect though. I mean, what do some villagers have to offer hired guns? And monsters or whatever? Seems like we're set to clear this place right out," Shou shrugged in Mooo's direction, hopping out of the jeep as well and re-affirming his grip on the gun.
"You're right though, I'unno if I wanna lean out of that thing to try and defend us while we're driving through a -forest-," he grinned, surprisingly sociable in comparison to his stoic attitude with Athan.

Moving out of the jeep Quin looked at the horizon. Not very far away, but he could see the beginnings of a grass field. A number of ideas came to mind at that moment, all of them not so civil.
"See those grasses?" Pointing to the area, "We could take some troops over there and set up an ambush. If they need be pull back we can set off some fire bombs or something to start it all on fire. The rivers been dried up for a while now and it hasn't rain too recently so it should be good for burning."

"You haven't seen too many movies, have you?" Mooo laughed, turning his attention back out to the field. "In any case, you've got the gun--I'm hiding behind you once this s**t starts up. Either that, or one of the higher-ups is gonna make you hide behind me so I can get shot," he said with another hearty laugh.
Quieting down, he nodded in response to the driver's suggestion. "Are you thinking a controlled burn just in case the townspeople try to set us on fire--or just straight-up burn the whole thing down?"

The man who had gone off to the shed emerged with an armfull of tools and cans; with a chainsaw slung over his left shoulder.
He headed for the truck, to dump most of it into the bed.
