Field of Stumps The field of stumps is a reminder of what had once been a thick forest. There are countless tree stumps all over, which meld into thinning patches of trees, and then full forestation. The Bright Woods are to the south and the east, while the Dead Woods lie to the west. The mountians to the north look rocky and unforgiving, but from the high ground the Blazing Plains can be seen to the south; past the forest or the Fuel Depot.

Stumps, every where stumps. Muttering to himself about how much these big conglormerates ment business when they went to work Quin sped up a small incline. Giving the jeep a bit of air time before landing back on the ground, the suspension of the wheels and springs absorbing the landing.
"Almost there."

Indeed they were almost there, moving the jeep along a well beaten path Quin drove the machine down the tracks and could see the large tanks of fuel standing beside the outpost.
Not much longer now.

"Wait the f'ing Hell up!"
Hein shouted out as he hit a bump, his quad lifting off the ground as he landed with a grunt...only to watch as his shouts went unheeded and the jeep continued on. God...today was just turning out to be one of those days.

The dump truck moved easily through the field, following the established road for supplies effortlessly. The driver took it slow, however, wary now more than ever of Settler's traps.
Jacob, lacking experience in the field (harhar), told him to, "speed it up." "Ah, if we hit a pit, even this thing'll go down." "It's daylight. Chill out. This is too common a road for that, and within our territory. We can get paranoid in a few miles." He looked down to the map, making sure his words were founded.
Sam, he noted, had a sizeable rifle on her. Good, he thought, here guns would rule the day... [Continued in: Logging Fuel Depot.]

"It's never bad to be paranoid" Samantha chuckled, and continued looking out the window with her rifle sight.

And so came the entourage into the field of stumps, a two figures sharing a dirt bike weaving among the stumps, favoring wider open spaces, and behind a small troupe of large, odd looking tigers, and more men on foot.
He should have had them ride the tigers. If the tigers would have allowed it. High mobility; being mounted; was always good when you wanted to get someplace fast or might have to run from something.

Aiolos kept his whistle in his mouth, he could do some magic with it, but he prefered if he didn't need to use it, only being able to play a high B wasn't going to cut it if they were going to get shot at...

Merry and the dozen guards rode into the clear-cut land, the jeeps high enough to avoid the stumps, while the bikes were maneuverable enough to avoid them.
She noticed a group in the distance and signalled a halt. "... What the hell? Are those... tigers?"
It only took her a moment to decide what they should do. She unholstered her SMG. "MEN. Leave no survivors." Then she fired a warning shot into the cluster of animals.

Paced at a synchronized step with the bomb squad, Zen watched the surrounding areas to ensure the safety of the team, if anything were to attack he was ready for it, whatever it may be.

Jacknife scooted in behind the bombs. A shot was fired, and it did not come from him. Jacknife immediately spun around to see the jeeps and motorbikes. Ok... Motorcycles were easy enough to take out, he could deal with them. He swung his gun up to aim at the Jeep. He didnt bother firing a warning shot. That was just a waste of ammo, they could see him already. His mind was racing for solutions.

As the shot was fired Zen rolled into position, blood hovered above his palms as he was ready to defend the team if it were to come to that, he was unaware of what the others were capable of so for the time being protection was solely on him in his own mind.

"RUN LIKE HELL!"
Kalis gave the instructoins to the mages very clearly, turning the bike to dodge low in sharp turns among stumps. "We might have to do something suicidal to get them through alive..." he said to the man on his bike, swerving and keeping low to avoid getting fire on themselves for now.

Aiolos put away his whistle and took out one of his three tin flutes, he had a feeling that he would need to play anything on a dirtbike, that would be a first, but hell, they were running... Well riding, out of there.

Merry signalled the two Jeeps to block their path, a few hundred feet away. The ten men sped over the field to face the group and all of them drew their weapons. Merry and the two men on bikes halted where they were, making a right angle of fire for the group to run into.
Her left hand was high in the air the whole time. When the Jeeps were in a better position in front of the group, she let it fall.
Then all hell broke loose. Eleven of the thirteen fired a deadly spray of bullets at the group as they fled, hoping to drive them back where they had come from.
