Meeting of the Gods A seed planted, a prophecy set in motion. Lethrossen Fedha'Kialio had been wandering the lands for a long time now, though he'd ditched the two prideland cubs. He was a little tired from all of his walking, only sleeping some of the hottest hours in the day away. He wasn't sure what he was on the search for, just that he was. His tail flicked about in an annoyed, almost worried manner as he studied the landscape around him. Had he been going in circles? His mind was beginning to convince him that he had been going in huge circles.
"She'd said something of the jungle and now I can't even find it. Pity." He muttered, angered at himself. How stupid he felt for this traveling. After a moment he finally sat himself down, his eyes on his paws. He would never admit it out loud but he missed home. More specificly he missed a certain friend from home. His eyes just caught the slight swaying of an object that was strung around his neck, and he shut his eyes. It was a small, smooth stone. A parting gift, in some ways. He was sure Ausi didn't even know he had the stone. He'd chucked it off the rock and told her it had been stupid. He'd gotten it again before he left.
He wondered what the little brat was doing since he left... His ears flattened back and his eyes flashed open again, he let out an annoyed sigh. This was exactly why friends were bad, they tied you down. Baneful Mrost was a lion of a one track mind and as such whatever frivolous thoughts he might have been dwelling on prior had been long forgotten in favour of finding his old fortress, the cavern network that had once housed his warriors, a place that still bore the marks of their time there. It had taken some time but he had found it, well hidden as it had always been, his own memory clouded by the fog of a previous life. Now he was on his way back from that secret place, gliding just above the ground, using the rising heat from the ground to give him added lift, in no hurry to get anywhere in particular, his mind mulling over possibilities of what the future might hold.
It was this distraction that led him only to notice Fedha when he was pretty nearby, not generally one to just ignore what could possibly be a lion of some use to him, the blue god let flight path decend just enough that he could switch from flying to a run, then a trot and finally a walk. Flicking his mane out of his slitted eyes, he headed towards the lion at his usual casual pace. Not seeing any reason to, he didn't bother to conceal his appearance.
"Lost, are we?"
Of course he had no idea if the lion was lost or not, but out here in the wilderness, it was a decent guess.Lethrossen Fedha's eyes were glued to the lion running toward him long before he'd gotten close. He had not noticed him flying, though. It was almost if he'd come out of no where, but that did not make sense in fedha's mind. As he did get close Fedha was becoming increasingly uneasy. What was wrong with the other's back? Why did he look so funny? His gaze lingered there a moment before it flicked toward the face again. "Those who are lost have no hope in finding where they are. I wouldn't say I'm lost, just traveling in circles." He said after a moment, his tone a little unsure. He knew some how that he should not try his 'i'm way smarter and better than you' bullshit with this one.
He was itching to ask what was up with this mutant, but he had no clue the other's temper. "Would you be able to tell me which pride I am closest to?" That could be a good start to finding his way to the jungle. He caught himself again staring at the other's back, still not sure wether he was afraid, disgusted or merely curious. Baneful
Mrost smirked darkly, not irked by the lion's smart retort, he preferred actual proof of intelligence to the usual "Yes I'm ohsolost, can you help me?" In those cases he'd either send the lion off in the wrong direction or mess with it. "So travelling in circles is your thing then? Whatever suits you. I personally prefer the more direct approach, no waffle."
He sat down casually, flicking his bladed tail like a big housecat. "Most prides mean little to me, I do not occupy myself with them unless they are directly influenced or important to me. All I could tell you at this point is that the Mistweavers lie in that direction." he waved a paw "Pridelanders that way" another point "And the Firekin that way. Wether or not obstacles lie in the path doesn't generally affect me, nor the distance." It was true, Mrost almost always travelled in straight lines, merely flying over things that got in his way, he didn't know the trails.
"Were you looking for somewhere before you got occupied with your "walking in circles?"" his tone was oddly sharp and despite his nonchalance he seemed to be sizing Fed's every comment and movement up. Lethrossen His eyes glued to the spot Mrost had waved his paw in, indicating his homelands. He almost missed seeing where the other two prides were. The pridelands were probably close by, Fedha had left from there. And the firekin lands he'd heard a little about, he didn't want that type of terrain. His gaze slowly floated toward the only direction a pride did not lie in, or one that was not mentioned. Distance and obsticals did not effect this one... and how was that? Come to think of it those odd things on the back did have some resemblance to wings. A chill ran up Fedha's spine at the thought of flying, his eyes remained in the prideless direction. A god then? Denge and Ithi had told him very little in that catagory. Fedha wasn't so sure this was a safe encounter, it certainly was beginning to put him on edge the more his mind figured things out.
"I... I am looking for the jungle. I heard there were two seers there and..." He looked back, tail flicking. "And I am in need of training." He said, calmly enough. Sure his voice was calm, but his eyes gave him away. He was nervous. And scared, Fedha was barely ever scared. He was a fool in that aspect, not being scared of so many things. But gods, he decided right then and there that they were something to both fear and love. "...Are you a god, then?" He finally asked. He almost was reluctant to, how foolish he'd feel if his mind had been running away with him, if he was wrong in his accusation. Baneful Mrost's slitted eyes lit up at the mention of seers, if there was one thing in the world he wanted to know more about it was those mortal anomalies, lions he'd only heard stories about and refuted claims they could see the future of gods and mortals alike. "Seers you say? A mythical breed of lion, one I've yet to see prove themselves in anything more than hollow words. As for training, the Mistweavers and jungle dwellers would have little to teach." he almost snarled in disgust "They favour peace over true skill. Perhaps they'll teach you to eat mango or some other irrelevant skill."
He ignored the fear he saw in the lion's gaze, in some cases fear was an emotion that picked up on danger before all the others and could save your life in the right situation, and in his fickle and easily changable prescence some individuals had a right to be slightly on edge.
He smirked darkly. "You are more perceptive than I gave you credit for. Yes, I am a god. War. Known rather more informally as Mrost."Lethrossen He was almost offended at the words spoken out against his homeland, but it didn't matter much. The only reason he liked his home was for it's beauty, not for its dwellers. Though at the mango comment his lips twitched, as if he was about to smile and then surpressed it. "I need to start somewhere. I know not of others with this gift... well, none older than myself. A gift is no gift unless you understand it." What use was a gift that one didn't understand, often times misunderstood gifts could easily be turned into curses. Fedha was often alone, and often had time to think about these kinds of things. He didn't rot his mind with play and bravado of being better than the other lions his age. Well, better strength wise anyways. He told himself he was smarter than the majority of them.
A god of war? Fedha was not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. A bad thing, more likely. He wondered when this one would stir things up... perhaps it would even come to him in his dreams? He'd finally figured out that those odd dreams, the ones he could tell apart from his sleep-dreams, were part of his seer gift. Though they were often confusing, because he didn't know what the majority of the happenings represented. His tail pressed tightly against his paws, still curled around him. "Mrost." He tried the name out on his tongue, it was slightly odd but easy none the less. "I am Fedha'Kialio. It is interesting to meet you." He added, though often he didn't add things like that to his greetings. It wasn't a nice meeting, it was too nerve racking for the boy to find it nice. Most meetings weren't nice anyways, they were strange. Held between two strangers. Though he would not lie to himself, this was an interesting meeting. "I had envisioned gods to have wings more simular to birds... though it might have been a foolish thought, I know little." He murmered, trying to figure out if maybe this god's wings were just odd in their form. "Unless many gods have many different wing types." Ah, already his interest in flight was beginning to grow, meeting Mrost would only be the seed that planted the interest. Baneful
Mrost was completely oblivious to the fact that the lion before him possessed the gift that he wanted to harness, an ability that even he as a god could never claim to have. However, as Fedha mentioned his "gift" he could only raise one eyebrow in surprise. He tried to maintain his indifference but that glittering greed and powerlust in his slitted gaze was unmistakeable. "Gift? You seek Seers to cultivate your own abilities?" Now he was interested and it took a lot to get and hold Mrost's interest. "I too seek the nature of Seers, there is a lion I seek who eludes me due to that gift, a lion who destroys all he comes into contact with and who must be found."
He decided that pleasantries were the way to go in this case, ignoring his typical inclination to snappishness for now. "Indeed, it is equally interesting to meet you."
At the comment on his wings, Mrost narrowed his eyes, clearly a touchy subject with him. "Yes. They were feathered once. Feathers I tore off for reasons of efficiency on the battlefield." That hadn't been the only reason bu he wasn't about to admit that he had a thing about eating feathers. "But gods vary, some do not even have wings at all." Lethrossen Fedha didn't like that gaze, not one bit. He said nothing though, shifting in his spot. "..." He wasn't sure what to say to this. A lion who could teach him? "And do you have any inklings of where he is hiding from you?" Yes, if he asked the right questions he could gain his own knowledge to this mystory lion, and he could find him his self. Though if he was a destructive fellow... "Why does he feel the need to destroy so much?" He said slowly, brows raising.
The fur on his neck started to stand on edge at the narrowed eyes of the god, and Fedha decided to drop that subject. "Ah, I see." Was all he said in refrence to it, more interested in the seer for now. Baneful "Yes. He is in or around the Pridelands though every time I get near him he moves elsewhere or hides. Someone mentioned once that it's probably because he can see glimpses of the future, spotting me before I arrive. What I want to know is how to get around these premonitions, how to have him slip up, the only lion I could ask a question like that is a seer itself." he smirked bitterly "Even the gods do not understand your kind nor why they exist."
He laughed bitterly "As for why he causes so much destruction, he is my son. It is hard to do anything else when you are the son of war. However, he has no control over his nature where I do, he has to be captured and...re-educated." The only education Mrost intended to give Na if he caught him was instruction in a swift and painful death.
"But yes. Is it true Seers can see the future or possibilities therof?" If so, he was going to ensnare one into his army, use them as a tool of war.Lethrossen Of course he'd just been in the pridelands and he had no luck running into such a lion. Only those two cubs, setting him off on a path that had been wrong anyways. But he had felt that meeting was supposed to be life-changing, he had dreamed it to be so. Though since it was the case it had led him to this god, which was interesting in itself. And the god-meeting had lit up information he would have never known otherwise, of this seer of destruction. A god's son! Fedha could feel himself grow a little jealous. To be born from the gods... surely that was an accomplishment in itself, though it was no accomplishment the being itself could make.
So they gods, all of them, did not understand the seers? This was interesting... It certainly made Fedha feel even better amongst his peers. More intelligent and more special, something the gods did not understand. Though he was beginning to catch onto this game Mrost was playing, or at least had inklings of it. He needed a seer to figure out the capture of another seer. Fedha was a seer, if a very undeveloped one.
"I..." Fedha frowned thoughtfully. He could not lie out-right of this, he'd never had a preminition come true. Well, perhaps this one is in the process. "I do not know entirely. My visions come through.. my dreams. I am not certain of them at all... an obvious reason why I too seek out seers." He said slowly, carefully. He certainly didn't want to anger this god. "I just know that one such dream is beginning to lead me on this path... the dream gave me a feeling of life-changing. And here I am." Ah maybe he shouldn't be sharing this information with him... Baneful "A life changing premonition you say?" he smirked critically. "Meeting me has been life changing to quite a number of lions." Some for the better, some for the worse, he thought. "Though perhaps these powers only gain accuracy with time and practice, you are still young mortal, maybe time it all it will take." He shook his head "Such a waste that you seek the tutelage of the Mistweavers, they will teach you of the pleasantries of your visions, of how they can be used to aid others, ancient mysticism and nonsense. You will never know the true power you weild, power that allows my son to even evade the eyes of the gods!" he grinned wickedly, there was a twisted pride in Na's continued existance, the same pleasure was derived from tracking him that a cat would derive from toying with a mouse. When he caught him it was game over and a new quarry would have to be found.
"Perhaps the life changing choice is one you will inevitably have to make, go the way of the mistweavers, living out your days in peace in the secluded jungle, or seize your gift with both claws and make something of yourself." He stood up again.
"In this world there is little need for elders, the truly ambitious forget their own path, make their own rules and it is they who eventually challenge the stuffiness of their elders and change the world."Lethrossen Probably for many he ment life changing as in their lives ended. Fedha shuddered lightly at the thought. "The mistweavers have no seers that I'm aware of. I was heading to a different jungle." He said after a moment, tail flicking away from him uneasily. There was a knot growing in his stomach, a very large one. Fedha was amazed and awed at this god's son. Thinking about it he knew he needed to find this lion. To evade the gods was an accomplishment few of only this one male could boast of. Thoug Fedha thought Evading a god was maybe a stupid thing to do... if you evaded once you must keep evading, surely you're on bad terms if you need to be hiding.
"What... is your son's name?" Yes, Fedha wanted his power. His teaching. Though it was doubtful that he could even gain it, a slim chance. He was not sure if this was what Mrost had intended, he certainly knew that if in some crazed way he got in good with Mrost's son... well Mrost could find the other all the easier, couldn't he? It didn't matter. Fedha was sick of the headaches and sick of the misunderstanding he had of these dreams... he wanted answers. Baneful Mrost waved off this misunderstanding on his part "One jungle is very like another and the lions similar in their traditional ways, in all likliness they'd have nothing to teach other than their own experience and experience is something you can get on your own." He smirked, glad that he had interested this lion in his son, if he had managed to interest him enough perhaps it would be he that could lead him to Na, bypassing the visions.
"His name is Na-Be." he cackled "He acts like an idiot but do not let appearances be deceiving, there is more to him than first meets the eye." He remembered vividly the lion who had challenged him for Palesa, that arrogant and cocky tone, composed posture, that had been the true Na, not the bumbling whimpering buffoon he'd encountered before. Lethrossen Na-Be. Fedha commited that name to memory. Would he run from a mortal? Would he even know of Fedha's coming... would Fedha dream of this other, even? And more interesting... it seemed that Na could see the future while awake. Fedha wondered if he could learn to do this as well, or if the gift simply came in different forms.
"Then I shall not seek out the jungle.. I will find a more capable being." He murmered, eyes flicking away from Mrost and toward the pridelands. He was not sure if he should just bid the other a fare well and leave, or wait for dismissal. He was eager to get back to the pridelands now. "I must leave you though, as urgent business has just come up." And it was obvious to bother what the business was!
He stood slowly, bowing his head to Mrost. "Thank you for this encounter." He said, though it wasn't as if Mrost had known of Fedha before this all and seeked him out, it was a chance meeting. Baneful "Do that and you will reap the rewards." the blue god stated almost cryptically. "I wish you the best of luck seeking out this lion." It was in both their interests, it seemed. "Farewell." was his simple and blunt statement before, with a single bound, he launched himself into the air, snapped out his wings and in a few casual flaps, glided off, seeming to be going in another direction than the pridelands but with every intention to divert his course when he was out of sight.
Seers were such coincidental creatures, you never did know when you'd find one or what they could do for you.
However Mrost wasn't fond of wildcards in "his" world, turning well laid plans into a game of chance.
Eventually they'd all need to go. Lethrossen Fedha watched him launch into the air with a bit of jealousy pooring into his heart. One day he would fly... he would. He began to head back for the pridelands at a slow pace, he had a lot of thinking and sorting out to do. He was still unsure if he was falling into this god's game move or if he was making a move himself. Perhaps they were both making a similar move, and only in the end would Fedha know who's move would place the victory on the player's head.
He had two goals in mind, though. Only time, or dreams, would tell if he could reach these goals.

Be A Father or Don't! Whatever you do, don't treat him like dirt. Felyn It had been a while since that interesting meeting between the fathers and children of the pride, the one that threatened the life of quite a few at once. As far as Syeira was concerned, her mother was the most dangerous. Though, she couldnt' say that she didn't know why - if something dangerous got within inches of Taabu, she was on it in an instant. At the thought of the little cub, she smiled, glancing over her shoulder, "Come on, Taabu, keep up. Don't let it hold you back."
It's not that she was walking very fast at all, but the little thing got sidetracked and would run off to look at something before he realized his mother was too far away. Then he'd have to speed after her, often causing a small little attack of his lungs. Normally, with any other, she would have lost her patience, but it seemed Taabu brought out a lot of better qualities in her. Well, when he was in her presence anyway - and that just happened to be all the time.
Little Taabu's eyes flickered up to his mother, bright red optics gazing after the mocha lioness in an attempt to see her above the rushes of grass he had wandered off into. With a little squeak, he leapt out, muttering quietly under his breath as he ran along, aiming for her legs, "one two three four five six," a pause for a little hacking pant, "seven eight." And then he started over, until he reached her and settled into a little pace at her side, breathing heavy but overall pleased with himself. Lethrossen And in all of his angst Uumi had found himself settled at the left most watering hole, the smallest but he found it to be the most charming by far. As well as deserted more often than not. He'd counted himself lucky that he hadn't run into Denahi yet since his stay, but Denahi had left which wasn't known to him. And also he'd not had a run in with the other brother, Tamu either. He was good at avoiding those he didn't want to see, sometimes.
His tail gave an idle little flick, crimson orbs narrowed in that persistant, angry manner as he gazed at the murky water. He was close to it, laying on a slab of rock that seemed to be half in the water and half on shore. Every now and then he'd touch his paw lightly to the surface, sending ripples out. It was those that he'd watch, when his eyes weren't on the brilliant blue sky and the whispy clouds.
His ears flicked back, wondering if he'd actually caught the sound of others or perhaps a light breeze? Felyn The little furball of mocha scrabbled forward, pouncing through the rushes as he muttered in his mind. Calling out to his mother, he let out a little purr of excitement, "watch me mum!" And with that squeaky little excuse of a roar, a cub's attempt, he leapt forward - attempting to do a long jump, but sliding into the mud of the watering hole's bank and skiddering into the shallow depths - mud on his face and paws as it splattered everywhere. He huffed instantly though, shaking one paw as he stood.
She broke through the foliage just in time to see her son splatter himself with mud. Despite herself, she laughed, walking forward and leaning over, one paw beginning to use the water to wipe away most of the mud. In the process, she didn't even see Uumi - maybe because she wasn't looking for him. Lethrossen Uumi's gaze jerked away from behind him and toward the left, watching as Tabuu spattered mud everywhere, luckily not close enough to get it on him. A brow slowly arched and a frown, the easiest expression to come to his face, slipped into place. He was about to say something, but then Sye came into view. Something lerched in his chest, it was an odd feeling, one that hurt and was extremely.. foreign. He rose to his paws, lanky body stretching out as silent as could be.
He watched another moment before turning and leaping to the shore, his paws making a light thud on the ground. Felyn The little cub had been allowing his mother to clean him, though, when he heard the little thud he couldn't help but stumble backwards somewhat, flopping into the dust of the shore. He huffed, slightly irritated, not with the big lion, but with himself. He stood again, coughing, and wriggled - sending a flurry of dust everywhere.
With a small sigh, Syeira cut her eyes up rather sharply at Uumi, but said nothing. Perhaps she was growing soft for the pretty prince, or perhaps she just didn't want Taabu to see her as a mean lioness. SHe sat slowly, tugging him to her between her paws, brushing a little bit of left over dust from his pretty mocha coat. "I see you're still sticking around," she said quietly, watching him for a moment. Surprised, yes, but it didn't show. Lethrossen His ears flicked back at her words and he paused to strech some more. A lion is only as good as his word, he thought and then snorted. Which would lead one to think that Uumi would be gone by now, wouldn't it?
His eyes rolled to the corners of the sockets, almost able to see the two. But alas, they were directly behind him."In other words, you aren't blind. Bravo." He smirked, moving forward. Lethrossen His ear flicked a little as he moved in the opposite direction, and something gave a little pang inside. Wasn't there supposed to be some witty remark back? Wasn't she supposed to follow him, or say something to piss him off and make him stay still a bit longer? Oh gosh, he couldn't believe he even wanted one of those damn comments to come.
He wasn't supposed to want her company. Besides, that little ball of fur needed all of her attention now. Why did he even feel jealous about that? Suddenly he was turning around and before he knew it, "Sye, let me help with Taabu... for a little while, at least?" He looked quite shocked that he'd said those words. Look, he even knew the squirt's name. Felyn She had only expected him to turn, leave, go on about his way. Be the ignoring father and one-time lover. Only, he didn't. He called back out to her, saying something she never thought she'd hear in her life. Though, as unkind as you might think she would be - she wasn't. She only smiled and turned back to look at him. "He's your son, Uumi. I haven't got the right to tell you no." She gazed down at the little thing, nuding him with one paw towards his father, "but only if you're sure."
When he heard the red lion's word, his little ears had perked up, turning to watch him in a certain awe. A weak and slightly unsure grin spread across his maw, little paws mving forward as he opened his mouth to say something - and yet, he didn't know what to call him. Lethrossen Well, knowing Sye she could forbid him that right. He was actually even more dumbfounded that she was going along with the request. Look he could still back out of this! He could say he wasn't sure and then yeah, everything would be fixed and he could go be angsty somewhere. "Yes, I wouldn't.." No better not make up some b.s. like not saying something unless it was true, that'd probably be the biggest lie he's ever told.
"I'm sure." He finally said, queitly. His chest hurt, though, his heart was beating too fast and he thought he might go into paniced breathing soon if he did not calm himself. He didn't want to spend time with some annoying cub! Well. Somewhere inside he must have. He watched Taabu a moment, ears pressed against the light fringe of black mane. "Uh.. I.. I'm Uumikaji." He finally stated, a rather big mouthful for a little one. Aww, Uumi is nervous. Felyn She simply sat down, in the rushes, comfortable as she let Uumi and Taabu have their first official meeting.
The little mocha thing slowly moved forward, paws steady as he counted - in his mind. Making him quite a bit slower, but it could be pinned for nervousness. Though, at the name, a weak smile spread over his maw. "You're.. my dad," he said quietly, red eyes looking up to those that matched his own. He just wanted to say it out in the open. After all, it had never been adressed to him or by him, and now it was time." Lethrossen Uumi's eyes widened and then narrowed. He couldn't very well say 'no'. Because he was Taabu's dad. "Er... yeah.. just, call me.. Uumikaji though." He stated, rather awkwardly. He slowly say his lanky frame down, taking a deep, raspy breath.
His tail curled tightly about his paws and he sat rigidly, he was very nervous. Usually he sat a little less stiffly, not so.. hunched and drawn in on himself. Why did he ask for Taabu to come.. see him or whatever? He sat and stared, not really knowing what to say. The concept of being a dad was one he couldn't grasp, or perhaps wouldn't.
His eyes flicked over, gently rolling over Sye's form. They flicked quickly back to Taabu though. Maybe he could just.. leave. But he couldn't. Felyn The pretty little cub moved forward, nodding to himself, "Uumikaji," he whispered, before he began his counting, "one two three," those octets were slightly curious. Syeira had come to ignore them, though, bringing attention to them meant telling Taabu he was doing something wrong - which he was not. It was part of who he was.
Then the little thing did something curious - peeking up at Uumi, he moved to hisback, front paws on the shoulder blades of the lion with his back on the ground. He was looking at his back, curious, then said quietly, "Gapa didn't hurt you too much, did he?" And there was worry there, how cute.
Syeira had known he would either ask or look, though not so much both. Either way, it was unavoidable. Though she'd never tell him, Taabu had quizzed her on the pair of twins from the pridelands. He had expressed a good bit of worry over their wounds. She had cared little, knowing how it was for lions to take care of themselves, but TAabu seemed to have some sense that this was his family. He had some sense that he should be worried. He used his intelligence in kindness, quite different than his mother, in fact. Lethrossen Uumi's nose scrunched a little. "What are you counting for?" He asked, curious and a bit annoyed by it. Great not only did this kid get short winded he.. counted? Was he counting his own steps? Why? But before the little cub had time to answer he asked about 'gapa'. "The big oa-" Well, he probably shouldn't be offending the lions Taabu held dear, should he?
"No, I'm fine now." He muttered. Actually his back was still sore in the mornings and sometimes when he was trying to sleep, but he wasn't about to admit that. "You shouldn't worry about me though. Worry about yourself." I think it is sometimes impossible for Uumi to be nice. Felyn Syeira had been gazing off somewhat, but at the question of Taabu's habit, she glanced sharply towards Uumi. Her gaze was that of disapproval, complete and utter disapproval. But this was time for father and son bonding, if you could even call it that, and she had no right to say a thing. Unless Uumi started being mean, at which point, she'd kick his pridelander a**.
Little Taabu's eyebrows furrowed, moving back away from the lion and sitting slowly. Close, but not too close. He frowned, sheepishly gazing down at his paws, "I just do," he whispered, "I always have." He had never really felt bad about what he did before, but the way Uumi said it made him ashamed, and he looked like he wanted to crawl away and hide somewhere. Poor cub, Uumi doesn't know how to be nice, it's obvious. Not even to his own flesh and blood.
"He was just angry you know," he said finally, still not looking up at the red lion, "I think cause mommy wouldn't tell him about you. I heard them talk about it before. She always told him to go away and stop worrying, cause.." he frowned, trying to think of what that lion's name was.. "cause she didn't need you dead and.. Gapa didn't need a war with Mu..fasa?" He said the name questioningly. He didn't know who the hell Mufasa was. Lethrossen Uumi didn't see Sye's look, or maybe he ignored it. Oh great, so the little guy was always retarded. He didn't jsut suddenly decide to count one day. How lucky. His expression softened a little, becoming somewhat confused. Sye didn't need him dead, even after what he'd done? "Tcht." He hissed slightly, shaking his head lightly. Why were they all so damn annoying? He didn't need Syeira sticking her freaking neck out for him, or hiding thimds from her father. He'd ruined that anyways by showing up.
"Mufasa." He nodded slowly. "My father. And probably on the same thinking level as your... 'gapa'" He said the last word with a biy of an annoyed tone, it was stupid. Couldn't he just say grandfather? Grandpa? Oh it shouldn't have mattered, really. "So a war probably would have began if Asikari gave in to that act of stupidity." He snorted, almost amused by it. Felyn He didn't like the way Uumi talked about the world. Did he have something against living? Perhaps. AFter all, he hacked and weezed the way he did. but more violently. That could make you resentful. As he sat there, watching and listening to this 'father' of his, he found more and more that he had inherited very little of this lion into his personality.
So this Mufasa was his other grandpa? Well, it was obvious he would never know him, because his father didn't like him at all. Though, now that he started to think about it, Uumi wasn't much of a father. He was kind of mean, not only to him - his cub - but to his family. He frowned at him, eyes narrowed, "I think perhaps mother didn't want Gapa to find you because she didn't want you found by any part of this family, including me." He sighed, standing slowly, "and I can see why, Mr. Uumikaji." Adding the formal title made him more alienated to Taabu - and that made him comfortable.
Before he had idolized him because he didn't know him, but now, only after a few minutes in his presense, he saw why his mother hadn't wanted the family to get to know him. Though, it was too bad he didn't know his mother really was slightly.. weakened by Uumi, in her heart. Understandable, she didn't know it yet, even. Though, as he turned, counting in his head to 'appease' this lion, he gazed up at his mother, "I'm ready to go home."
Syeira had heard this half way through, eyes widening slightly. Her son was wise, but never had he used such intellect to describe a lion. She knew he was picking him apart in his mind, much like she did. Though, the spark she saw in Uumi he apparently had not seen. Or perhaps there was no spark and she was just blinded by the fact that she had begun to feel for him. Still, she would not displease her son, especially with such an outbreak of intelligence.
She stood slowly, eyes on Uumi, in perhaps disappointment. Her son was walking past her, out into the grasses, head held high as he tried to count in his head so that the red one would not here. She watched him, then sighed, shaking her head, "maybe you're not ready to be a father, Uumi." Lethrossen Well. Looked like he failed. His eyes narrowed dangerously and the childish anger welled up. Well maybe he didn't want to find any of her stupid family here. Like her half retarded father who couldn't speak to save his life? Or her overly violent brother who thought Taabu was trash just because he was half from Uumi. Or that damn mother of heres, a powerful and respectable figure. But unnerving and jsut too much to deal with. And if he knew about Crazy little Tamu he could add him into the bunch too!
And... and he wasn't a Mr.! Mr was not a formal title to Uumi. It was just like calling someone 'old man'. "Tcht. Well I can't see why I even tried to ask you to talk to me." That was a very childish retort. "Or why I'm even staying here with a bunch of ******** ups." He sneered out, rising quickly and turning, stalking into the grass. He'd best hurry saying things like that around Taabu, especially with Syeira so close, yeah? But he was hurt and he didn't like that feeling. At all. Look, his own blood hated him. And it was different than having a brother or sister be distant from you, or not stick up for you in situations. It was having.. a kid. Who didn't like you because they knew you were such a jerk.
Which didn't help his confusion, he knew he was mean and angsty and generally trying to put off lions, he did it in habit and didn't have to think about being mean anymore. He didn't even try with Taabu, so why should he be pissed and hurt when Taabu made the generally wise judgement about Uumi that most others made? Not. Worth. Their. Time.
His jaw clenched right and he hissed slightly, tail lashing behind him. It wasn't fair! This was a lose-lose situation! Felyn Syeira tensed when she heard all that. Caught between pity and anger, she turned to her son, who seemed rather unphased by what he said. Perhaps becaus ehe knew it was just out of hurt or anger. "Stay here," she said quietly, watching him obediantely lay down on a rock. Then, she turned, stalking after Uumi. Once she was a good distance from her son but still able to see him, she pounced quickly and silently, shoved the red lion beneath the ground under her.
Pinning him, she hissed, staring down at his eyes. "Don't ever act that way to him, Uumikaji, do you understand me? He's a child. You weren't here when he was born and you have no right to act that way just because you hate everyone. Have respect for your own blood, Uumi. You were insulting his family, people he loves, how did you expect him to act?" She sighed, digging her claws, not hard, but enough to get her point across, into his flesh, "don't you realize he doesn't know there's anything.. wrong? I know what it is, I know what's wrong with him, and I'll tell you now it's not from you. Alright? It's my genes, from my side, things similar to my brother, but thank god they haven't festered into that extremity."
She growled, staring at his eyes, "you happy now? Knowing something's wrong with him? Knowing he's not a perfect little cub?" Oh she thought he was unkind, "if all you can do is stay here and hurt him with what you say, then maybe you should run back home, like you do every time something gets to hard for you. Like every time I came around before. I didn't ask your a** to try and be a father, though as kind of an offer as you meant it to be, you just don't realize you can't treat a kid like you do me."
As mean as what she had just said was, there was a bit of pain in her eyes. Her heart was throbbing, violently, from both hurt and some other emotion she didn't want. Why did he have to be like this? Lethrossen Crap, not fast enough. He snarled out as she was suddenly tackling him, coughing a bit as he hit the ground. He stared back into her eyes, defiant and pissy. His lip curled a little, tail still thrashing against the ground. His body was tense but he didn't move or try and push her off, he knew Sye could kick his sorry a** if she ever really wanted to. Even if he was becoming bigger than her.
"I don't hate everyone." He says, cheekily. Not the time for this additude, not at all! And why should he repsect the little twit, just because he was blood? What kinf of respect did he ever get? No respect. His flesh tingled a little, it was more like and odd sensation than a pain when her claws dug in just slightly, but he knew it was because she wasn't trying to hurt him. I hate you. Blood and Ashes I hate you.. He could never bring himself to actually tell Sye this outloud, though.
"Well I didn't think he got counting genese from my side of the family. The only thing he got from me are these stupid ******** eyes and breathing problems. I'm well aware he didn't get any insane genes from my family." It was like he was saying.. he knew her family was the one full of crazies, not his. "And it's not hard to tell something wrong with him.. just look at his bloody parents! That's all you have to do!" Uumi was shouting up at her, shouting until he thought his lungs might burst. Yes, putting Taabu at a distance would spare him none of this.
After a moment he shut his mouth, chest rising and falling at a deadly rate, nostrils flaring as he tried to take in enough air. Finally he looked away from her, head turning so he was watching the grass that was eye level with him. He hated Syeira because.. she made him hate himself more than he normally did. She confused him and outsmarted him always. She was a more beautiful being and she had a nice family, even if it was a bit crazy. She didn't push her brothers away, he knew even Denahi would stand up for her if he needed to. She had people she could love, family, and openly loved them. And it just wasn't fair.
Uumi needed to make up his mind, or even just get over himself. Felyn "You're right," she whispered, despite his yelling, leaning down so that her slightly hoarse and.. upset? voice lingered in his ear. "I'm the one that gave him those genes, crazy genes as you call it. I'm the one that's caused some sort of morphing in his brain, but at least I'm kidd enough to never tell him that's he's wrong. Because he's not. That counting, his mood swings, and even the strange ways he may do things makes him different. I know that. I love him just the same, Uumikaji, even if you can't find it in you to love your own son."
She frowned, pushing her paw against his chest a little harder, "and being his parents don't make him worse, dammit. He's smart as they come and he knows who's scum and who's not. He knows when someone doesn't want him, and in some respects, I pity that intelligence because he can figure out that you're one of those hateful lions that never will because of your own god damn pride."
She sighed, staring down at him for a moment before standing, getting off of him, and starting to turn, "if you can't find it in you to be a good father, then don't try to be one at all, the last thing I need si for you to play with his mind. It's hard enough keeping him stable in the drama of my family, but he loves us all just the same. Just like we love him." She frowned, glancing back at him, "he doesn't need someone that's going to treat him like dirt. I put up with it because I'm capable of it, but he's a child, and he doesn't need that." Lethrossen Good. As long as she knew it was her fault. Not his. So why did that just make him feel worse? He let her words mostly wash over him, only grasping them in his mind so that if later he wanted to understand them, to actually hear them and make sense of them he could. Right now he just watched the grass.
Sye's logic was very interesting, seeing as Uumi had treated her like dirt since she was a cub. And she didn't need it then, or now for that matter. He hated that. Always these excuses. But he had no words to say to her, he just lay there and wait for both of them to be on their way. He didn't want to think about these matters right now, he'd rather watch the sky. So he turned his head back to that, guilty eyes taking in the beautiful colors, the sun was setting.
Being Taabu's parent did make him worse, in Uumi's eyes.

Telling He Father A little Advice from a member, as well. Felyn The bright blue eyes of the young lioness swivelled, turning their gaze up towards the sky so softly. She had been lazing about as of late, in her lands, not bothering too leave. It'd be too dangerous to stray too far right now. Her well being was not was she feared for, however, but the obvious swelling buldge in her stomache.
A soft sigh passed her maw as she glanced out towards the horizon - her mother and father had been gone so long, now so much that she was past the point of caring. In her opinion, her mother and father must be ready to start another legion of cubs - forget about all but the heir. Not that she held any grudge against Tamu himself. She'd not come see them, not even her father, if they were to be put out of their minds so easily.
If only she knew how true it was. Well, at least the part about new cubs. Now, however, she relished the thought of her own. A companion she could mold into what she sought in others.
That's when she found the scent of her father carried across the winds. Lethrossen Asi spotted his little darling ahead, and a purr sprung up. It was selfish for her to think that he'd forget her, but obviously he didn't even know of Ari's pregnancy yet, nor did he know of his little girl's thoughts. "There yah be, 'ow are yeh my princess?" He called. Obviously the oaf didn't realize why she hadn't been around when they'd been back. She had figured out Asi and Ari were missing and was sore at her parents for it.
As Asi got closer he didn't notice right away the extra 'fat' as some might think to call it. He was just happy to see his girl. Felyn A soft smile spread over her lips, regardless of her current angst towards her father. She slowly pushed herself up into a sitting position, somewhat run down of energy. "I'm alright," she purred out quietly, weary blue eyes swinging up towards her father. "Well, as well as I can be at the moment, I suppose."
She knew her father could be.. dense, let us say, but she hoped it honestly wouldn't take him too long to see it. Her stomache was swelling, full, though it was probably only one.. two cubs at the most. She knew the ways of birth, she had heard it, and she knew at this point.. she was only large enough for a small number of children. Lethrossen Asi half frowned. "A'the momen'?" He questioned, his eyes flicking over her to look for any hurts. Wait.. why was she so fat? Come on Asi, you know what kind of belly that is. And suddenly it struck, like lightening to a tall tree in an open feild. " 'Oo di' tha' to yew?" He snarled, his muscles suddenly tensing as he looked into his little princess' eyes. "I be'er be mistakin' Sye, of why yer belly be like tha'.." He sounded... well, angry as hell. Especially since he never got mad at her! But she wasn't supposed to be having cubs! Felyn When she spoke, her voice was as calm as it ever was, low and monotone. Her father had figured it out perhaps a little faster than she would credit the slow, but adorable lion for. Though, his sudden anger didn't seem to bother her one ounce, "don't get angry, father," she said quietly - her eyes concentrated on his. "If you were here when it first happened, then this would make so much more sense, but it's been done for ages now, while you and mother were gone. I've come to terms with it, my anger has come and gone already."
She shook her head though, eyes travelling in the direction of the southlands, "he doesn't matter father, he's a prince of the pride lands. Sickly little thing, but I would have never pinned him to be able of such. I deserved it," she said quietly. For Syeira to admit she deserved something was like hell freezing over. "I pushed the insults too far for the last time," she shrugged, refusing to look at him. She was still slightly angry that he had left. If he was home, she wouldnt have gone off in the first place. Lethrossen Don't get angry? Was she the idiot? If you show up and your kid was with child you'd be pissed too! His tail lashed behing him, he was staring at her half pissed and half dumbfounded. It doesn't matter? That was even worse than telling him not to be angry! He snarled, gaze flicking to the direction of the pridelands. "Why the 'ell would i' no ma'er, Sye?" He hissed. Pushed the insults too far? What was she talking about?
Oh god. Why did Ari and him leave.. why did they come back? "Didju leave 'ere an' go thurr... or was the scum o'er 'ere?" He was speaking in a rushed manner, which made it even harder to understand his words. Felyn She glanced back to him, a frown on her maw as she sat there in that placid state, so calm next to his bristling, tensed and angry body. She was glad she had been raised to learn his accent, or now she might just be lost on what he was saying, as thick as it was usually plus combined with stammering speed.
"It doesn't matter because there is nothing that can be done to reverse it," she said, letting her eyes finally come up to meet his, two swirling pools of sapphire. Like her mother's. "What has happened has happened and I see no reason why I should tell you the name of the boy just so you could go over and cause trouble. It certainly would not be of any use to have our king go and brutalize the son of Mufasa."
At his next question though, her ears drooped, slowly lowering herself down into a more comfortable, laying position. All this shouting was wearing down her energy, after all, there was a second lifeforce absorbing her own now. "He's been here before," she said quietly, eyes drifting over her fathers, picking out all the emotions dweling in their deep pools, "but this time, I suppose I went there." After all, she had only really gone to the border. Lethrossen He blew air of of his nostrils, it was a big breath. He hadn't any clue what to say to her. She was too young, there were dangers in giving birth.. what if she died? He knew she would be too proud for help with the little ones, or maybe he did not know.
And more so.. he didn't know if he was supposed to be mad at her or not. He was certainly made at whatever male dared to touch his precious baby. He swallowed and shook his head lightly, looking toward the sky. Oh god. He wanted Ari here to help him. Felyn She frowned and shook her head, slowly standing and looking up at her father, walking closer towards him so very slowly. "It was nothing intentional," she said quietly, "I don't mean to dishonor you, or the family, or even the pride. It was just something that happened, father. Just ill fated luck," she whispered.
She sighed and shut her eyes, to hide the fact that she was indeed slightly frightened. She knew all the complications, she knew everything, she had asked and been told by the wise lionesses she knew. Her father could worry, but that would not quell her fears.
She was just too proud to say anything, she always was and would be. Lethrossen He shut his eyes too, trying to calm himself. After a moment he opened them and moved closer to her, lightly nuzzling his daughter. "Yeh do no' dishonor me, or the pride." He whispered to her. He slowly sat, sighing again. Why the hell was his family so weird?
"So... which 'una us be tellin' yer mum?" He murmered, half kidding and half serious. Felyn She smiled, weakly, at the comfort her father had to offer her. He had been so angry, and she couldn't fathom why that actually was. To her or the situation or.. Uumi, the name of whom he didn't know. "I don't want you to worry," she whispered, "I can take care of myself, and I'm proud, but I'm not stupid. I can't do this by myself. I'll need you, and mother especially."
Though, her fur bristled at his next question, "Oh god, she's going to go homocidal," she whispered, eyes widened as she realized that perhaps the lioness' fury was worse than her father's. "And the boys," she purred out, glancing up to him. Oh god - Denahi would know as soon as the words 'pridelander prince' passed her maw. He'd slaughter him. "We have to tell them too," she whispered, more to convince herself than him.Lethrossen He nodded at her words. She'd have to tell everyone. "Do yeh wan' me to tell Ari firs'? Teh.. le'er ge' used teh the idea?" He murmered, leaning against his only daughtor.
He hadn't a clue what Denahi or Tamu would say, though. The one who'd done it though, he had better stay away from these lands. He'd be murdered on the damn spot, unless Syeira was around to say otherwise. Felyn She smiled weakly as she sat down at her father's side, nuzzling into the thick fur of his mane, finding some comfort in it, the comfort that she always found in her father. "I'd rather you tell her, yes, I dont think I could stand having to hear the initial yelling," she purred, her eyes shutting.
For a moment she tensed, feeling the child growing in her body shifting, purring softly as it subsided. It was a rather energetic one, maybe that was why she was always so tired lately.
Though, she'd rather not have Uumi murdered. Even though she didn't mind having this cub and requiring no help from him, she still would like him to be around. He was at times the only one that she could even hold an intelligent conversation with, however short it may be. Lethrossen He hoped Ari didn't shout. He blinkded, tensing because she tense. "Wha' be wrong?" He murmered to her, tail flicking around her smaller frame.
What a tiring time this all would be, don't you think? His ears flicked, and for a moment he wondered where some of the other pride was. Maybe they could help with Sye too? Like Tisha or Mahoka. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen his friend Mahoka in a long time. Too long, really. Felyn She laughed softly and shook her head, glancing up to her father. "Nothing's wrong, dad, just that the cub keeps wriggling around." She said cub, because she assumed there was only one. To be as pregnant as she was, she was small, but still swelling with pregnancy. "Active thing," she purred, glancing down at her swollen belly.
She smiled, trying to make this situation as comfortable as she could. It must be odd for her father, becoming a grandfather so early, and when his child was still too young for it to be really.. proper at all. Still, nothing could be done now, not that she would change it if she could, really. Lethrossen He frowned and his mouth opened, but he had no reply to that. Uggh. He glanced away, a little uncomfortable obviously. "Yeh think thurr onnee be one?" He finally asked, glancing to her again. She did say cub, singular. Felyn She nodded slowly as he asked the question, thinking for a long moment before she responded to him. "Yeah, just one," she said quietly, for the first time becoming aware that she was referring to is a cub and not more than one. "I'm small for how long it's been," she said quietly, nuzzling against his neck once more, "if there were more, I'd be huge by now. Besides, it's not uncommon for those my age to only have one or two." Lethrossen He knew very well what was common and uncommon! He wanted to tell her it was uncommon for one her age to actually get pregnant. In his mind, anyhow. "....'ow long 'as i' been?" He finally said, deciding that was probably more approriate to ask.
And after a moment he was thinking about his the two adult females in the pride, besides Ari. "Yeh know.. i' migh' do yeh some goo' ter talk with one u'tha' pride members, Tisha... She was in a sim'ler situation." He murmered out, watching Sye from the corner of his eye. Final_Crucible Taking another strole on her own, Tisha found herself once more nearing Asi, grass tickling her form as the sun brushed down upon her fur. She could tell at one that it must have been another cub of his, the resemblence shown even from how far she was, but this time she decided it was not best to just interrupt. The akward memory of Tamu screaming before she came was just a little too embarrasing for her to live through again.
So instead, she continued her search for the near by watering holes, sniffing lightly into the wind and smiling as the fresh scent caught her senses. All she needed was a quick drink, than she would be ready for a hunt for the afternoon meal. Felyn She frowned as her mind reeled back over the weeks and months, trying to think for herself just how long ago that last meeting with Uumi had been. "About three months," she said after a moment, suddenly realizing the figures and how little time left she had for all of this.
That was, of course, when she picked up on the scent before her father even mentioend Tisha. "Predgnant as an adolescent?" She asked quietly, then turned her eyes in that direction. Who was coming? Lethrossen Asi took a deep breath, speak of the devil and it shall come! Tisha's scent, he was sure. "Aye, tha' be i'." He murmered in respons to Syeira. "Tisha tha' yew?" He called out. He rose after a moment, gaze flicking over the grass, spotting her in the distance. She was hard to miss. Final_Crucible Her ears perked from her search for water as her name was called across the grasses, and slowly she turned her head to catch sight of Asi standing, his daughter was still hidden partially by the grasses. Blinking for a moment, she soon padded lightly over to them, smiling even lighter before her soft voice rose back in calling.
"Yes Asi, Just looking for a watering hole before a quick hunt..." She let her words trail off in the air as she paused a few yards away, catching a good sight of Syeira, "Oh...company again?" Glancing back to the male, she chuckled akwardly, "I always seem to run into you at the worst of times." Felyn She smiled, weakly though it was, as the lioness came within talking range of she and her father. It wasn't that she didn't want to see her, it was just that this was extremely uncomfortable for the little adolescent. Sure, she always acted confident, but she had a small portion of fear welling in her heart, and it would do her no good to be snide and unkind while she needed other's help. There was plenty time for that after the cub was born.
Though, she was just really glad Uumi wasn't around to see her right now. Lethrossen "Ah no, this be a goo' time as e'er, yeh know?" He shrugged lightly and sat back down. "Er... this be my daugh'or, Syeira. Sye, this be Tisha. I was jus' speakin' ter yeh aboot 'er." He nodded slowly, waiting for them to learn each others names and such. Final_Crucible Tisha just looked from one to the other with a slight frown of confusion, her eyes moving back onto Asi to nod soon after.
"Alright..." Glancing back to Syeira she smiled, "Hello Syeira, It is a..." She trailed off as she caught sight of her lower body, and slowly let out a knowing "...ooh..." Putting on a brighter smile, she added on softly, "Have you ever seen my son, Tafari?" Felyn She smiled weakly as the pretty lioness sauntered closer, ignoring the obvious gaze over her lower body. It didn't make her uncomfortable, at least she wasn't trying to hide something so very obvious. "Yes, I suppose you can see why we were speaking of you."
She nodded though, the smile lingering, "Nice to meet you Tisha. And no, I've never met him, sadly. I have heard of him, though. He's my age, isn't he?" She really must be suffering from hormones, because she hasn't been mean yet. Ends Here
