It had been a long while since Asmodeus first discovered the door that led to the inner workings of the steamworks that ran her world. In that time, she'd explored, mapped, navigated--and after many dead ends, many dangerous encounters she'd had to flee from, and many an hour spent walking in circles, she was fairly certain she had it.
The path to the Eternal Engine. The way to set her planet's great steamworks running again.
She stood in a wide room, a space that had clearly once been a hollowed out cave but that was reinforced with brass and steel, run through with pipes and steamworks, with antiquated-looking control panels against one wall. On one end of the room, a passage snaked into the darkness from a doorway, the way back to the surface--and behind her, two large brass doors sealed the two paths forward.
But she knew she couldn't do it alone, and even though Hati was with her, and she had her Eternal wings now, that wouldn’t be enough. The dangers in the other tunnels had taught her that. So, she sent a prayer into the universe--and her world responded.
“Alright,” she said, to Hati, “now we wait and see who shows up.”Quote: On the night of February 18, 2025, Order characters may feel a pull to go to space. If they respond, they will find themselves in the room described, greeted by Asmodeus (who is an Eternal) and Hati. This is the opening for a three-part event ORP in which we will get to explore a cool dungeon, fight a big boss, and maybe get something neat out of it! This thread will run for 72 hours/3 days; I'll have an update in 24 hours (so 3PM EST tomorrow) and after that all updates for the rest of the event will come every 48! Feel free to join in at any point, but your character WILL have arrived during this RP!

Hati gave his surroundings a surveying look, keeping an eye out for anything that might appear to detach from the walls, or open up extra passageways. He didn't want anything to surprise him or Asmodeus. Surely something would show up. Something other than the people who would come to help. He doubted there wouldn't be some sort of automaton threat crawling out of the woodwork—er, steelwork—to try and stop them. That sort of thing just seemed par for the course. Naturally, nothing seemed immediately threatening, so he guessed that whatever might happen, it was going to come through those giant steel doors. Big threat, if he was right. " Hopefully, plenty of people," he replied, giving her a solemn nod. " I've got a feeling this won't be easy. But you know I won't run." His face slid into an easy smile, and he leaned over to kiss her cheek, quickly, before anybody else could show up.

Eternal Murikabushi of HungerWhen one was out and about in Destiny City, patrolling and generally minding one’s own business (unless somebody needed an intervention to knock off some garbage they were doing), then maybe it was fair to ignore the unexpected sensation of something calling one off to space. People had their own lives. People were busy. They had needs of their own and it was fair to feel like a random summons up to space was intruding on your ability to see your own needs sufficiently met. Maybe you were in the middle of something important that you could not easily put down and resume later. All of that was completely fair and nobody in creation had any right to hold that against someone else, no matter if they were an Order senshi or a Knight.
……At least, this was true if you were anybody but Murikabushi. He only needed to feel the slightest hint of something calling him up to space and he yielded himself to it, allowing that power to whisk him away. Wherever he ended up, it would probably be an adventure, and magical space adventures very much Made Sense with Murikabushi’s magical girl fantasy. He welcomed them pretty much whenever they wanted to fall in his lap.
When he appeared in some hollowed out cavern full of metal reinforcements, Murikabushi took a moment to look around. He was all smiles, bright and bubbly and radiating the earnest energy of I don’t care what the mission is today, I’m just excited to be here and to help with it however I can—but that didn’t mean he knew where he was, or that he didn’t need to get his bearings. Very steampunk, wherever he’d shown up. But it didn’t feel like any of the places he might have seen on Daedalus with that specific friend of his. Caverns on Daedalus tended to be used as mines, once upon a time, so the decoration in them—while also metal with a kind of steampunk vibe to them—often felt less ornamental and important, and more like somebody had built them with a design philosophy like <******** your OSHA regulations or whatever we have in the Silver Millennium, blah blah blah, I just simply despise when poor people demand basic decency and personhood, ewwwww.”
Noticing a petite redhead with a leathery-looking corset and matching goggles on her head, Murikabushi turned his eager smile on another person. “Asmo! Hey, queen,” he called out to her with a perky little wave. “Long time no see, Miss Thing!”
To say the least. Murikabushi had still been with the Dark Mirror Court, last time he and Asmodeus had had the luck of running into each other. He hadn’t been an eternal senshi at the time, either, and there had been a distinct surplus of a Drunk Star Festival Celebrant singing Lil’ Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” with dubious success.
“So, this is your world, then? Digging the vibes so far.”

Haldane, Senshi of DoubtHaldane didn't really know what he was doing, aside from being ETERNALLY BORED while his brother was abroad, and finally trying out this whole Magic Space Warrior thing in earnest after all this time....without the subtle hints from his girlfriend. That said, answering some wierd pull to answer a call to go to spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace....probably wasn't the smartest idea. But Haldane wasn't known for making the smartest decisions. Suddenly finding himself in a strange room, the bearded senshi spun around kind of dumbly, taking it all in..then realizing others were there too. "Oh wow. Hey."

Rowan Trumoia - Sailor Tempesti, Senshi of HarpiesAs Sailor Tempesti’s patrol wound down for the day, she was surprised to feel the odd sensation in her mind, a strange tugging to leave the planet once more. It wasn’t her own world beckoning her, Tempesti remained a quiet hum among the others. Still, she had no desire to resist the call, allowing it to draw her into whatever awaited on the other side. The senshi of harpies gasped softly as she found herself someplace…bizarre. Wide grey eyes gazed around the enormous space, trying not to gape as she took in the machinery that surrounded her. Whatever she had expected to find here, it wasn’t anything like this. It was a relief to see that there were other people here, it would have been more than a little bit unfortunate if she’d accidentally stranded herself on an alien planet. She found her attention drawn to the eternal senshi whose presence here seemed the most natural. Giving a slightly awkward wave she greeted them. “Er, hello. I’m Sailor Tempesti. She smiled slightly, hoping her presence would be more help than hindrance. Quote: Tempesti is awkward and open for interaction

Ephesus, Knight of the MoonEphesus knew they probably should have let his dads know where they were going. They told Michael and Devyn that they planned on going to their Wonders, which wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.
What they hadn’t expected was the strange, desperate pull. It was familiar in that Ephesus knew it was someone reaching out for help. How could they ignore that? Besides, his dads were having a quiet night to themselves. He would feel guilty if they interrupted that, especially with how hard they both worked all the time.
So, with Amarynthos’ hand in his own, they let themselves be drawn to the World and its Senshi calling for help.
“Oh, Mary,” Ephesus gasped quietly in awe when he opened his eyes to the new world. “Have you ever seen anything like this?” It all looked so interesting and unique. Definitely something out of science fiction.
He knew they should probably try to find the Senshi or Knight who called them there, but with people already appearing left and right, Ephesus felt more comfortable hiding close to Amarynthos’ side, while curiously staring at everything in wonder.
Except he jumped, with a small squeak of alarm when something soft brushed against his leg. Lucien - Cat Form“Apologies,” Lucien hummed in response to Ephesus’ reaction to a gentle brush against his leg. He knew the teenager was a little jumpy, especially in unknown situations, but there was no harm intended.
“I was not intentionally following you,” he promised, looking up at both Moon Knights with a hint of sympathy. “Our paths merely crossed. I simply suspected your destination may have changed as mine had.”

Super Sailor Aruna of LandslidesAruna had never ventured off planet before, far too scared of what her own world might hold to have tried yet. But when she felt a strange tug, a calling of sorts, she allowed herself to follow it. Something about it made the usually shy senshi genuinely curious, and she allowed herself to be carried by the pull. When she was able to take a look around, a soft gasp escaped her. It was like nothing she had ever seen before, and part of her wanted to explore it something fierce. A familiar voice pulled Aruna from her thoughts, and she lit up immediately when her eyes fell on Murikabushi, waving to him as she began to approach. "Murikabushi!" It was hard to miss the vibrance that was Muri himself, and she quickly made her way over to him with a brilliant smile. Another familiar voice made Aruna pause on her approach however, and she turned to see Tempesti with surprise. Happily linking her arm with hers on the way, Aruna smiled reassuringly and proceeded to lead the way over to Muri. If two of her favorite people were there, this couldn't be too bad, right? "I've never been off planet before. This is....wow..."

Tianyi liked to think that he was getting very good at doing things on Earth. It was such a nice planet, and he was so....well, he was something. Content. Not quite so scared, anymore, since he'd made a few friends.
And there was a tug in his chest, and--and the last one had gone so well! He took a deep breath, and focused, and let himself be carried off, and this time, when he opened his eyes, he was in yet another new place. This one was all in shining metal, and he was very much not alone, and he could see a few familiar faces in the crowd--but one stood out. Mostly because he was the person who had taken Tianyi in and was currently making him feel mostly comfortable and safe.
"Muri!" Tianyi called, and he ran over to his friend, scooting up against his side. "Hi, do you know where we are? This place is fascinating, nothing like what we had back home." His tail swished, a cheerful thing, and he took in the area around him with delighted awe.
Whyever they were here--probably it had something to do with the fiery Senshi in front of them, or with the tall one next to her. One of them would surely explain, and until they did, Tianyi was content to stay stuck to Murikabushi's side and wait and see.
Oh, and there were two other people coming over, and one of them was familiar immediately.
"Hello, Tempesti!" He greeted, cheerfully. "And--hi, I don't think we've met before?" He blinked, innocently, at the unfamiliar Senshi who had pulled Tempesti over to them. "I'm Tianyi. This is very exciting, isn't it?"
Maybe other people wouldn't agree. But Tianyi needed to be cheerful about this. Needed to believe that it was going to be okay, that they'd been called here for good reasons, that even if it was dangerous there were enough of them to overcome whatever came.

Chang'E DSS of ElationAfter the last few times, Chang'E had gone out with the weather not as bitterly cold, so he thought maybe about bringing Brioche. Aruna had helped him sort out some things with the senshi phone they'd given him but he still had questions to ask. It also helped to get directions from the loveable mauvian directly instead of trying to remember a string of them before heading out. So he had his little friend on his shoulder when that pull came. "Space?" Furrowing his brow as he thought about it, he had mentioned wanting to bring them with him to his home but he hadn't been able to do that yet. Offering another hand of support to keep Brioche on their perch, he answered the call and blinked when they ended up in an unfamiliar place. Looking in wonder at the pipes and machines, he wasn't familiar with them exactly but he could have sworn he had seen something loosely similar in his wandering days. Noticing the group of gathering individuals, he looked to see if he recognized anyone. "Oh, there's another mauvian here." They looked rather large as well but he saw they were otherwise occupied.

Procyon Super DSS of LiminalityMore and more he was looking for a distraction, someone else he could help because he still didn't know about going home to try working on his own world. Pleione had showed him information about algae blooms here and he was sure he could ask Daedalus about clearing pollution, but he didn't want to pull people into his own problems just yet. As long as there was someone else for him to help, he'd prioritize that. So when he felt that pull to go to space, he sighed in relief. If someone needed help, he was determined to give it his all and even as he stood in this new area completely dumbfounded by the inner workings of metal something or others, he was happy to be doing something useful again. "Hello! How can I help?" Waving to the senshi he figured might be in charge, he popped over quickly to make introductions. ---------------------------------------------------------- Chillingham Page of SaturnHomework was done and Pippa had gone through the rules with Freddy about not getting into trouble again before she was allowed to head out as Chillingham. She hadn't liked getting a hand in her chest, something she had distinctly not told her brother about for fear of him actually having a heart attack. Shortly after wandering. she felt a pull to space, one that was different from the one that wanted her to go to that old castle of her ancestor. It didn't need to nudge her a second time because the idea of space and seeing proof whether or not it was all dead and destroyed up there was very much her priority. Tianyi had given a grim idea of what it was like and she wanted to find proof of the opposite, not so much to shove it in the little alien's face but to maybe help cheer them up if she could. Appearing in a sort of cave, she was confused by the pipes and guages. It reminded her of old steampunk stuff from some of the sci-fi novels she'd read growing up. Looking around at it, as she bounced excitedly, she then yelped happily as she saw her little alien friend. "Tianyi!!!!!!!" Bounding over with the speed of a bull in a china shop, she noticed all sorts of other people around. "Wow! There's so many people." ---------------------------------------------------- Portia DSS of CryptogrophyIt was the last thing she wanted to do, the very last thing, but she wanted, no, needed, to punch something. And after meeting that one interesting half-blind woman, she'd found out that it wouldn't do well with her goal if she went around causing trouble for the humans on Earth. So that boiling rage over her planet rolled beneath the surface as she frustratedly tried to figure things out. A call to space was the last thing she'd wanted or expected, but it gave her the opportunity to learn more of somewhere else. It was a distraction, she knew that, but it was better than staying in that run-down home she'd found. Standing in the cave, looking at all the pipes, reminded her of the tubes used to move scrolls and books through the library back on Portia. Just thinking about it soured her face and her mood for socializing. Standing near some of the gauges, she trailed her nails over it as she listened to the growing group of people. Mauvian Brioche - Cat FormEvery inch of fur on Brioche stood on end when he felt the tug of some far off place, calling for help. The pull was so very strong on his heart, digging at an instinct that even his negligent self could not ignore. Oh how badly he wanted to forget this was happening at all. The old cat was finally experiencing his happiness, and knew where he belonged. Answering that call brought along risks that he just couldn't accept happening to his Chang'E. They had just found one another, how was he supposed to accept this?! It was too much, they both had so little experience in this world... And yet... When Chang'E carefully reached out his hand, picking him up and placing him on their shoulder... How could he refuse? Together, they opened their eyes to machines and pipes, things that seemed almost familiar, and yet not. But that wonder was short lived as Chang'E mentioned the other Mauvian. Instinctively Brioche hid under Chang'E's hair, though it was useless in providing any sort of cover given his large size. "Ah... I... Not the best with others like me. No. Unfamiliar, Frightening... I will be quiet here, yes." He murmured softly against his Senshi's ear, letting that fluffy tail of his come around and curl around his shoulders for more his OWN security than anything else. "... You wish speak, you may, I am here, just quiet..."

Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon
Amarynthos was interested in this new world and had been in the process of absorbing all that he could as he nodded along to Ephesus. He should have been a bit more on guard; as soon as Ephesus squeaked, he half turned, ready to defend him, but–
Oh, it was just Lucien.
…Wait, if he was here, how were they supposed to keep this a secret from Alastor? Did those two even have any secrets? He didn’t groan; he liked spending time with Lucien, he’d just been so sure that they could sneak off and help solve this one problem without roping Sessrumnir and Alastor into things. Those two never took a break, and if they knew there was trouble they’d just be out here again. They needed some time to recharge, and Amarynthos was determined to give them that. Besides, he and Ephesus were Knights! And Lucien was here! And a bunch of other people. They were practically unstoppable.
Though he wanted to tangle his fingers with Ephesus’ again, instead he crouched down to scoop Lucien up with a slightly dramatic huff. He was a big cat but he wasn’t really heavy, especially not when powered up.
“We were planning to go to the Moon,” Amarynthos clarified, because they hadn’t lied to Michael and Devyn. “But it seemed like someone needed help so we’re just taking a little detour.”
He held Lucien in both arms but bumped his hip against Ephesus. Lucien was prime for petting so he wanted to share an invitation to do so while they tried to figure out what was going on. “Where did you come from?” he asked, mostly sure that Lucien probably didn’t get sent out to tail them any time they were off on their own, but he wouldn’t really put it past Michael or Devyn. Worrywarts. Lucien was too, though. If he was following them while they patrolled, it might have just been because he wanted to make sure they were okay, himself.

UraniaUrania felt a call to space. It was a familar feeling for her. It had happened once or twice in the past. A random yet wildly enticing feeling that comes on suddenly. It makes you want to run outside, get away from the city and look at the stars where you can really see them. That was the feeling she got. A sudden need to power up and leave this Earth behind. Obeying the call, Urania found herself on another world. The room was large and in what was once a cave but altered with metals and pipes and other workings. She could feel the temperature change. There was no natural stars or sun. But it felt okay with the many people here. She looked at the two large dooors and wondered what was behind them. “I’m Urania. What is your name? And what do you need me for?”She said with a smile and not the best social skills, but she was honest. “I mean, I love exploring other senshi worlds. And this seems exciting. But with so many here, I’m guessing your world is in trouble. The call didn’t tell me anything. Just ‘come here’. And ‘someone needs you’.”She looked around. “Everyone else got that feeling, right?”❂

Oh. Wow. Asmodeus clearly needn't have worried, because her call had called to plenty of people.
She looked out over the crowd, and reached over to wind her hand with Hati's for support. Standing in front of this many people and asking them to help her...it felt...rough. Even if she knew it was necessary. And there were few familiar faces in the crowd--though that wasn't to say there weren't any.
Murikabushi got an excited wave.
"Good to see you again! I see you figured things out," she said, and she had to admit, she was glad for that. He looked happier, to say the absolute least, and the white fuku suited him well. "Welcome to Asmodeus. Well, welcome to the underground parts. The service tunnels for the steamworks. The city on the surface is way more impressive, and if I'm right about what's down here, it's all about to get a lot cooler."
Procyon and Urania both got polite nods of acknowledgement, and she pitched her voice up so everyone would hear.
"Thank you, everyone, for coming. I'm Sailor Asmodeus, and this is my homeworld--the slightly less cool part of it, if we're honest. A thousand years ago, Asmodeus ran on a massive steamwork system, and we're in the maintenance tunnels for it. These two doors behind me, based on the mapping I've done and memories I've recovered, should lead to the core of this whole system, the planet's Eternal Engine, which has been shut down since the fall of the world. I want to turn it back on, so the planet works as it should again. But there's, bluntly, a lot of dangerous s**t between me and it. I've found traps, puzzles, rogue automatons--basically, I can't get there alone, and I need help. Which is why you're all here."
And hopefully they didn't want to turn back, or think this was a foolish endeavor.
"I'm hoping there are enough of us to split into two teams, go down the tunnels, and meet in the engine room to find whatever's guarding it and figure out what made the Engine stop running so I can make it start again."
She paused, briefly unsure.
"Uh. Thank you all for your time? And in advance for your help."Quote: Next update will come at 3PM on Friday, February 21, which will close out this thread and start part 2! Feel free to ask Asmo questions, etc, and I'll respond in between updates. Characters are still welcome to join~ Also, Deep Space Senshi are welcome to have heard of Asmodeus! In the past, it was a steampunk city-planet fueled by the Eternal Engine built to integrate with the planet's core. The previous Sailor Asmodeus, Patrician Liliana, ruled over the planet and was a noted inventor and alchemist.

Sailor Tempesti was pleasantly surprised when Aruna appeared, if somewhat caught off guard by the sudden movement toward Muri. “I’m glad I’m not the only one who gave in to my curiosity about that…call? I guess I’d call it? This place is incredible!” She gave the other senshi a friendly wave before turning her attention to Tianyi.
It was nice to see him seemingly more comfortable than he had been when she’d seen him last, though she had a feeling that the absence of any hungry youma chasing him up trees was probably a contributing factor. “It’s good to see you two again! It is exciting, I’ve never seen anything like this place.” She was very nearly bouncing on her heels as she spoke. It really did look like something out of a science fiction novel and while she was aware on an intellectual level that there could be some serious dangers here, it was difficult for her to place the idea of some hypothetical peril into the amazing reality that she was looking at the technology of an ancient civilization. It seemed like next to nothing compared to the fact that she might, in some small way, be able to help that civilization’s senshi bring back even a fragment of what they’d lost here.
On top of all of that, she had to fight the urge to fawn over every Mauvian she encountered. No matter how cute they were, she continually needed to remind herself that they were also members of an ancient and powerful race. An adorable, fuzzy, ancient, and powerful race.
As Asmodeus began to speak Tempesti managed to tear herself from the thought of how soft the Mauvians probably were to listen intently. She had no idea how a planet could run on machinery, though she found the idea completely fascinating. The fact that there were apparently pretty significant defenses in place only made her more determined to see this through. Even if she couldn’t make a huge difference on her own, one more pair of hands would hopefully make the task a bit lighter for the heavier hitters. And if it ended with bringing Asmodeus closer to healing its wounds, as far as she was concerned that would make the danger worth it.
