A week had passed with no change. The anomalies were consistent, neither better nor worse than when they first manifested. No one was any closer to having answers.

Tonight, that might change.

At first, there wasn't any noticeable difference--a slight pull, like a nagging from the back of your mind. Slowly, it tugged harder, and then finally the presence swelled. If they weren't already, Knights would feel a strange pull, a call to power up. For the first time in a week, it didn't feel like a struggle.

But then, that was hardly a coincidence when the Code was intervening..

All Knights received a strange, astral letter. It manifested before them like a sparkling scroll. Illuminated by what might as well have been dust specs, the lettering on the page glowed.

It was more than an invitation, it was a summoning.

Quote:
Your presence is requested. Please attend an emergency conference on the Moon. Your travel is secured with this letter. Should you choose to attend, you need only will your arrival. Make haste.

The request was succinct, in an elegant script. As soon as it was read, the letter glowed brightly. There was one chance to accept. If rejected, the letter disappeared. If accepted, the knight was transported to the Moon.

Housed as it always was, the Code glowed dimply atop a single pedestal. It lacked its usual brightness, but with each Knight that arrived, it shined a little brighter. It was almost as if their presence rejuvenated it. Or, maybe it was just that the magic it spent getting them there was returning to it.

The Code swirled in a steady, rotating mass of fine, glowing mist. It pulsed as if it had a heartbeat, though it was noticeably slower now than it had been in previous interactions.

The room itself shared similar architecture to the rest of the Moon Palace, though it was devoid of any decor. It was a safe haven, with no windows and only one door that led into the Hallway that would take them to the Celestial Theater. To returning Knights, nothing had changed. For Knights visiting for the first time, it might have seemed a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the Moon.

And yet, it served its purpose. There was room enough for them to gather here, and the Code was safe. Presumably.

It waited silently for the room to fill.

Quote:
Only Knights can participate in this ORP! Knights of any rank can choose to accept the summon and will arrive here with the group. This summon will reach Knights who have been trapped on their World and can pull them to the Moon the same as any Knight on Destiny City. Any character attempting to visit the Moon using a Cosmic Brooch will be temporarily rejected; as soon as this meeting is over, it will open up again.

The next update will be in about 24 hours, but after that each update should occur approximately every 48 hours unless otherwise stated. The ORP should last for about a week, and then Knight players will have the option to undergo a special quest to stabilize the Code Piece at their Wonder. Even if you did not participate in the previous prompt, all Knights in attendance should at least be handwaved as noting the anomalies.

You do not need to participate in this ORP to participate in the following prompt, but you must participate in the following prompt to acquire reduced requirements for your character to unlock perks in the upcoming release. Participating in the previous prompt and this ORP may further reduce unlock requirements for your character. Players can join the ORP at any point in time and can handwave that they have been here from the beginning or arrive late depending on preference. There are no repercussions for missing a prompt.

More information will be available in the closing post of this ORP! Please PM any questions to The Space Cauldron.

Knight Tanais of Mars

After a week of weird s**t happening, of having her gauntlets crumble and break over and over, Tanais was almost relieved to see the strange glowy paper appear before her. Now, she might finally get some answers about just what the ******** was going on, and why everything that had to do with being Tanais was so difficult and unreliable right now.

She reached out with a leather wrapped hand and took the scroll, letting the Code pull her where it willed with something vaguely like trust. She'd still never talked to her own code piece, but the Code was where her power came from. She had to trust that it wouldn't harm her unnecessarily.

The place she arrived in was distinctly not the meeting place on Mars. It was paler, for starters, and not as warm. Red eyes scanned the room as she waited for... well, something. Anything really. Answers. The Code to talk to her. For the place to explode into flames? Who knew.

Hawara, Transcended knight of Uranus

User Image It had been a week. A long week. Hawara was absolutely losing his s**t. Snippy, irrational, panicked, and just absolutely Feral, would have been a good word for how he was feeling. Drive-by punching Chaos could only do so much to sate the violent tantrum that not being able to go home boiled within in him.

Home in every way that counted, more home than the little RV that was his earth domicile, was his wonder. Every spare moment that wasn't dedicated to his husband, job, and park community was dedicated to it. Just when he had one area restored, more seemed to open up, showing that it was so much more than just the building he'd been mostly confined to. As sand that covered the surrounding ground receded old ground work and structures revealed themselves. He was excited to put in the work it needed of him. Taking care of it meant so much to him.... So being locked out... It was like a rejection that he just couldn't accept.

So he might have just gotten through punching-and-running from another poor Chaos victim of his temper when the letter from The Code reached him. He might have read it, but given the little time that passed upon receiving it and Hawara finding himself on the moon, it wasn't likely.

If he had read it though, he probably would have retorted with something like 'no s**t it' an emergency,' or something just as, if not more, crude.

Upon arriving Hawara might have thought that he would jump right in to demanding answers and general bitchery, however he surprised himself with his ability to remain thinly composed. There was obviously a fidgety-ness in the knight, and his jaw tightly set, lips thin as he fight to keep incoherent thoughts from escaping as equally incoherent words. He observed The Code with concern.

Bifrost, Transcendent Knight of Chronos

Bifrost was tired and on edge all at once. For a week, she'd been unable to reach her wonder. She could see it, could tell where it was on the Surrounding, but actually reaching it? A semi-transparent barrier encircled the whole thing, preventing her progress. Given how bound she was to the outcropping of marble and pillows, and the energy she had to release every few weeks because of it, being unable to do so was making her itch.

Powering up had always felt second nature to her but the last week had been a slog. Not only did it feel as though the Bifrost had cut her off, but once again something was going on and the Surrounding hadn't done a thing to protect them.

(Hard to hold a line when your senshi were MIA or otherwise engaged.)

She lifted a hand to the floating scroll in front of her, and appeared on the moon with a soft sigh of breathe. Time to go help fix this.

The knight winced a little as the energy humming under her skin - because of course she was now past due for her regular trip to her wonder - flared with the teleportation. Her fingers tingled and she rubbed them idly as she waited for the room to fill out. Hopefully this was... straight forward.

Hierapolis, Page of Cybele

User Image Having a job like his, Domcallion didn't have much time for the powered shenanigans he had become pulled in to along side Steins. The magical 'adventures' were much more her thing while he, on the other hand, made his one a month trip to that thing called a 'Wonder,' which he explored with all the enthusiasm as he gave a new fantasy novel.

In his limited time, although he initially looked at it as a reluctant chore, the moment he'd power up and be on his way the child-like excitement to discover the significance of the place enveloped him. That said, when he found that on the night he was scheduled to go for his trip and discovered that he for some unknown reason couldn't, there was an odd feeling of something akin to disappointment in him. A feeling that made him realize just how much he really did maybe, kind of, sort of, enjoyed this part of what he now was.

Troubled though he was, he didn't talk to Steins about it, nor did he want to trouble Cybele with something he assumed may have been his own error. It wasn't like he really knew any one else to ask, despite everyone he'd seen at the games Cybele had not that long ago. Maybe he really should have been better about socializing like Steins had hoped he would do....

Maybe it was time he rally did get in to this more.... If he could.

It was with that mindset that he had powered up to begin with. That and, another more external pull he felt to do so. It was easier this time than it had been - something he was just remarking to himself when the letter appeared.

Hierapolis read it, a myriad of questions in his mind, none of which questioning whether or not he would attend - he already knew he would, which seemed to be all that was needed to then transport him.

It was jarring - he wasn't used to such things yet - and he had never actually been to the moon, or set foot before The Code there. He hadn't yet even found the piece of it that was somewhere on his wonder yet. However when he was the glowing ball of mist he knew that is what it was. Intuitively knowing things was something the excessively tall page was getting used to.

He had a million questions, not all of them in word form in his mind, nor that he was even conscious to having, but he hoped for answers none the less.

Erytheia knew from whence the letter had come as soon as it arrived.

There was no mistaking it. Not to a knight. Not to one of Cosmos. Certainly, not to a transcended one.

When the Code summoned you, you accepted the call.

Still that made Erytheia no less anxious as he arrived on the Moon. He knew the Moon Palace, knew the hallway that led to the Celestial Theater and knew the Code that pulsed in its place on the pedestal.

The familiarity, for a moment, let him breathe.

But only for that moment. Other knights were arriving. And the Code never summoned such number unless something was wrong.

If the past week had revealed anything to him, it was that there was something very, very wrong.

Havasu Falls, Knight of Pluto

When the letter came it took a moment for the message to registered in his mind but once it did he grabbed the thing. Finally! Finally he was getting off his wonder! Meditating was the only thing keeping him from going stir crazy and even that was starting to get on his nerves. No one to talk to, nothing to really do, and knowing that work was piling up on your desk at home... it was hard to keep a calm demeaner. But he was finally getting out of there!

It took a moment before he found himself in a completely different place. "Oh thank god!" He breathed a sigh of relief and stood up to stretch. After working out the kinks he turned his eyes to the crowd slowly gathering, trying to spot anyone he knew and would have sent a message to... he was looking for a few people in particular but hadn't spotted them yet.

Ngome page of Lysithea

Ngome received the astral letter just like the other Knights. Though slightly new to this world, Ngome felt a deep sense of duty and curiosity that pushed him to accept the summoning without hesitation.

There were things she was still learning.

Ngome found herself standing in the dimly lit room, surrounded by other Knights who had also been summoned to the emergency conference on the Moon.

Her heart raced with a mix of exhilaration and nervousness, unsure of what awaited her.

Pendour, Knight of Neptune
Every night for the last week, Pendour had tried to connect with her Wonder. She'd gone out to the park and sat cross legged on a bench, staring up at the sky, or closing her eyes and seeing if she could feel the presence of her own starseed. These sessions were something between a meditation and a prayer. Each night she'd sat for at least an hour, although the last two times she'd found herself sitting there until the early hours of the morning.

Her sleep had not been the best.

The more she tried to connect with her Wonder, the more she thought about it. The more she thought about it, the more she missed it. She missed the waterfalls, the plants, the pillows. She wanted the feeling of peace that washed over her skin the moment that she arrived on its shores.

Time after time, it turned her away.

She lived in a house full of knights. She knew that she was not the only one having problems, but it got to her, all the same. She felt the numbness creeping into her head again. She felt an irritability creeping in, too, so when she wasn't powered up, she curled up in her room and tried not to talk to anyone.

The letter was what broke the cycle.

It didn't make her feel better, but at least if offered potential answers, so of course she answered the summons.

When she arrived, she wasn't her usual serene self. With her arms crossed and a lock of hair brushed over her bad eye, she waited to see what the Code had to say about all this.

Kaifeng, Squire of Saturn

After trying and failing to visit his Wonder some nights prior, Kaifeng had had a struggle of getting the people who loved him to let him power up. He understood, true, and he appreciated their concern for his wellbeing, especially after he’d gotten himself in such a bad way while repeatedly failing to get up to his Wonder. Getting hauled off to Helene with a whole, lengthy Muri Explanation™ about what had happened and how Kaifeng had been making himself unwell, that hadn’t been particularly fun for him. More like embarrassing and shameful, to be put in such a vulnerable position without full consent because Muri had very fair reason to suspect that Kaifeng would probably minimize things if left to his own devices.

Look, just because he’d done that the one time when he’d gotten stabbed, and then also several other times after that but always in circumstances that were very different from these ones with inexplicably not being allowed to go to his Wonder!! Which wasn’t to say that Muri’s point of view didn’t make sense, because it did, but the whole “unable to visit his Wonder literally at all” part of the picture here genuinely made Kaifeng feel less inclined to bullshit or minimize anything. Not even because he hadn’t gotten to share it with someone he considered a friend, whether Muri would have agreed with this designation or not, but because Kaifeng felt……distinctly Not Okay, when he spent too long away from his Wonder. He liked to go as often as he could, because leaving it alone for too long made guilt twist around in his chest as though it meant to strangle him from the inside out.

Even managing to power up tonight had felt unnecessarily arduous, once Liánlí had convinced Helene and Stribor to please let him try. Almost as soon as he had, though, the summons had appeared, and it was with a promise to take care of himself (and a kiss for Helene) that Kaifeng had bid his zhiyin and his space-brother a “love you, see you later.”

Showing up on the Moon for the first time felt like it ought to have been an extremely special occasion, but as the new scene coalesced around Kaifeng, all he felt was worried. A bit of reassurance, as he made his way toward all the other Knights and what they gathered around. Being with other Knights certainly made Kaifeng feel less alone in having dealt with all this. Muri had said to Helene that it wasn’t just Kaifeng having trouble, but hearing that and having an intellectual sense of it was different from being able to see so many other Knights, all of them looking various colors of upset right now. As Kaifeng looked around for any familiar faces—or at least anyone who didn’t seem like they’d mind a new friend—he just hoped that the Knights and the Code could get this problem figured out together.

Shangri-la, Knight of Pluto

It wasn't terribly wise, but he'd been out every night and since he had so had his sister. He had to stop trying to get to his wonder, as the lockout left him panicky and stressed. The same when for summoning his weapon, as he was extremely disheartened to watch it melt or crumble more often than not. He was a mess, if he was honest. He never imagined he'd be so distraught but being a knight as at this point in life as natural as anything and deeply apart of him.

He felt the nudge, the pull, though it took a bit to figure out that what it was. He powered up and it felt better than it had felt, easier which was a breath of fresh air. The letter that appeared before him, was honestly very welcome at this point.

He grabbed hold of it accepting the request and allowed the letter to take him away appearing on with others before the code and feeling a small sense of relief though he still didn't know exactly what was going on.

He looked around seeking out his family, hoping at least of few of them had accepted the invitation.

Almere, Page of Lysithea

Almere didn't think she would ever say no to a magical floating letter. She knew she wasn't going to say no to a magical floating letter that was inviting her to an emergency knight meeting, which was something that they clearly needed with how everyone's powers were being weird.

The others had mostly convinced her that this wasn't her fault. Mostly.

She was still going to be a little bit worried about that until they figured out what was going on for sure.

She'd been patrolling with Mechelen, and when they were pulled though to space, she looked around. There were a lot of knights starting to come in, but she wasn't focused on them yet. Something about this place looked familiar.

"Isn't this that hallway we were trying to walk down the other day?" she asked Mechelen. It looked pretty similar, and the letter had said that they were meeting on the Moon. She looked towards the glowing ball of light on the pedestal. "Does that mean that's the Code?"

It looked magical, like something out of a fairytale. She didn't think it looked much like code, though. She'd been expecting a giant computer screen, like the code that hackers messed with, although maybe with runes on it instead, since it was magic.

"Huh. Where's the code part?"

Tortuga, Squire of Jupiter

He had been out patrolling. Not so much looking for youma or negas to scrap with but for knights that had gotten themselves into corners that their magic wasn't there to get them out of. Tortuga might have only been a squire, he might not have had access to his magic, and he might not have been the best fan of fighting but since he rarely used his magic he pretty much relied on his skills of a brawler. What skills he had. He also had a trump card in the little magical ring he had been granted several years before. Who would have guessed it would come in handy now!

So when the letter came he didn't really hesitate, he quickly took it and let the magic whisk him away to where ever the damned thing would take him.

Purple eyes scanned the growing crowd, noting the code swirling smugly... "Damn, Shang was right on the money." Looked like this whole mess had something to do with the thing, just as Shang had speculated.

((Open for interaction))

Sigiriya, Page of Ida

He had been out with Dessie when a strange internal urge had him coming to a stop. A rather quick discussion followed where Dessie speculated what was going on and urged the young man to power up. She kept watch when he did so, and when the letter showed up informed the page that she would head over to her father's house with Sarah. It was one of the safer spots she could be.

At her urging he took the thing and before he could do much else Sig was whisked away to where ever this was. Eyes wide he tried to understand what was going on. Brows rising with each new figure he saw. He knew he wasn't alone in being a knight in the city but he hadn't actually realized just how many there were. "Wow," He muttered, awe struck.

Sumner, Knight of Neptune

Sumner hadn't powered up lately. He hadn't wanted to. He was still attempting to learn how to use his new powers with his harp and had spent the rest of the time at his job. He had tried in the past week to power up, but he had felt so tired just attempting to do so that he brushed it off as him being too exhausted and needing a break.

So when he felt the sudden urge, need to power up, he found that he did so quickly and before he could even register that something had changed for him, there was what appeared to be a sparkling scroll in front of him, summoning him. Well, it didn't look like it had been made from any chaos, so Sumner was concerned but accepted immediately.

In the blink of an eye he found himself in front of the code. Again. It had been some time since he had seen it. Personally he thought that he would never see it again, so this was both a pleasant surprise and something to worry about. Was there something wrong with the code?

He looked around the room to see if there was anyone he could recognize he noticed one familiar knight who looked like an elegant mermaid and made his way over to her.

"I haven't seen you in a while Pendour." He said with a small smile. He wasn't sure what else to say next. Clearly there was something wrong about this situation, so saying he was happy to see her again would have sounded strange. He decided to go with another piece of small talk. "How have you been? Besides all of... this." He said with a vague wave, though slightly concerned voice. He knew he had had trouble with his powers and if her face was saying anything, it certainly hadn't been just him.

Mechelen, Squire of Lysithea

Mechelen was so happy that she was with Amere for all of these strange goings on. She was worried about her friend, worried that she was still in the mindset that this was somehow her fault…she thought that the big group outing to the Moon had helped, but she still worried. Almere seemed so frail sometimes. So young…and she didn’t want the girl to worry.

Looking around, she nodded at her friend. “I’m pretty sure it is, yeah…and I guess that is the Code…I’m not sure what I was expecting but…”

This was like a shiny rock…not that there was anything wrong with shiny rocks but…she had expected…

More?

She wasn’t really sure, but it didn’t seem right to like…insult it.

“It looks like it’s getting brighter the more Knights come in…that’s kind of cool.”
