Crisium, Page of the Moon

He jolted a little, staring up at the sudden group of knights... of Cosmos, maybe? that were around him. There were words being said, he was quite sure but he couldn't quite--- Oh. Oh. Oh.

He stood up hastily, brushing of his socks and shorts and shrank into himself a little.

"N-no I'm... fine. This just... happens," he said, by way of explanation. He gestured at all of himself because, really, he was a whole... thing. This was a whole thing. And overwhelming. Qingcheng was right. It was overwhelming. Heck, someone even almost tripped over him! This is what he got for crouching on the floor just in the middle of everything.

"S'sorry! I should have moved before... well... that. Ah, um, anyway. I'm Crisium, of the Moon? And... oh my there's... a lot of you. Around. Me, I'm fine really!" His voice squeaked as he hastily put up his hands and tried to look his most 'fine'.... even if he was still panicking under it all.

It was just a lot. There were a lot. Goodness they were a helpful lot. And a lot.

Deep breaths Crisium, deep breaths this is like a gala at the house, breathe.

"I am not the greatest in social situations and with everything going on with my wonder... or all of our wonders, I guess, I'm a little... frazzled, is all." No need to tell them he routinely had panic attacks while powered up. No. That was a terrible plan. They'd all think him stupid or broken or something. Yeah.

Better to keep that to himself, mhmmm!

The knight turned around when his name was called and nearly sagged in releif. "Venius, thank god." He hadn't yet spotted anyone else he had sent the distress messages too, just missing the bright red hair that marked the Jacob's family in the distance. "You are a saint amoung men my friend," He praised the other knight even as he gave him a hearty shoulder pat. "Since I never heard back from anyone I just figured the messages didn't get through. I'm sorry I left that whole mess on your plate but no matter what I tried I just couldn't get off of my wonder." With a sigh and a shrug the knight just smiled weakly, "I can tell you that I don't want to see another MRE type food for a long, long while."

He turned to Erebus and greeted him as well. "I hope my 'stuck in space' problem didn't cause you two too many difficulties. How did you explain my absence?" He asked the duo, curious to hear what excuse they came up with. He would have to make sure to make it believable when he finally got back to work.

Spei, Squire of the Moon

Spei turned to the other Knight present and nodded. “So do I. I really hope the Code has answers, not just for us, but for itself.”

He watched as more Knights appeared in the chamber, filling it. So many responding to the Code’s call… It was heartening to see as a Moon Knight. The Code had chosen the handful of them directly to protect the Moon, so they had a special connection to the Code that not many other Knights had.

It was just a matter of whether or not the Code could help them.

Yetzirah, Page of the Cosmos

Yetzirah was, without question, avoiding a lot of his life as a knight. It wasn't on purpose! He just had other responsibilities! And he didn't see the urge to take on the colorful uniform that wasn't part of a theatre or other performance. Now and again he did, just to see if he'd perhaps run into one of the few familiar faces he knew. He hadn't really noticed anything... really off--correction, he'd felt heavy and extra discombobulated on the times he'd tried to power up recently, but he just chocked it up to lack of use or... weirdness in the city.

Guess that changed!

Isaiah had given into the weird wiggling nag in his mind, boggled by the beautiful letter--the Moon?--and. Well. There he was. Here he was. It was only after the magical relocation did he realize he had been here before, a few years ago.

Yetzirah tucked himself away, more keeping himself as he took in the mass of people. All the bright colors, the beautiful designs. He saw more than a few others who seemed to have a similar... hm, theme? Motif? Both? The stars and colors that he had. He wasn't sure how to approach anyone for the moment, though, so he stood back relaxed and chose to just observe for now.

The Code, once notably slower and dimmer than usual, seemed to have built up most of its momentum. The keen eye might pick up how its light particles sputtered every now and then, or how they flickered in brightness like a bulb ready to burn out.

For a long moment, it did not speak.

There was a whisper in the room, under the chatter of the Knights, but it could have passed as wind outside.

The Code was trying to speak. It just took a moment to find its voice.

“I am glad so many of you could make it.”

It spoke at a conversational tone but took a moment longer to build up the volume needed to address the group as a whole.

“You will forgive me for being unreachable,” it suggested, maybe specifically to Cynthus. There was no reproach in its voice, just an unnatural tiredness. “The reason for haste is because I cannot guarantee I can keep you here for long. There is an unnatural force affecting me. You, probably, too. I am finding it difficult to hold this form.”

The Code had a tendency to be blunt. It could be callous, and stubborn. On Mars, the Cornerstone piece seemed more patient, but at its core they were the same. Just different shades of the same entity. There was no snark right now. “I do not need concern.”

Maybe it could tell by their expressions, or maybe some of them were just thinking so loudly that it could practically hear them.

“The universe is full of many powers. This is correctable.”

In better times, the Code might have introduced itself with more vigor, but it seemed to be under a lot of pressure, now. “For those that do not know, I am the Code. Your powers are tied to your Wonder, and to me. There are few corners of the universe that I do not reach. We are connected, you and I. And I suspect we are all feeling these effects. I have been closed off from communication, I was too unstable before. It took time to stabilize this much, but there is still a long way to go. I will need your help. How are your Wonders?”

Luxor grunted something, but made no real effort to make sure his words were enunciated or clear. He was feeling out of his element, missing his abandoned, but beautiful, carnival grounds. All he wanted to do was get out of there, wondering why he ever allowed himself to answer that stupid piece of paper.

Somehow, he doubted it was going to get any better from here.

He did appreciate the two knights around him taking the time to explain things, though. He nodded, indicating that he was accepting whatever this 'code' thing was, and the room, and the idea that they were on the moon. At the very least, he was very 'okay, whatever' about it all, and could not really be surprised. Whatever happened, he only had one goal in mind, and the sooner this all resolved itself, the better.

"Must have something to say," he said, a bit louder and with more clarity. He was definitely out of practice with conversation. He remembered a time when he was well spoken and exuberant, playing the part of a ringleader very well. Those days were gone. "Since it called so many of you all here."

He paused.

"Us. I mean."

As he finished talking, something happened. The magical glowy box was talking to them, and he supposed he was meant to listen to it. To the question, he had no answer. He had not been able to go to his Wonder. He imagined everyone else was in the same boat. Folding his arms across his chest, he glanced around the room and idly wondered how many voices would answer at the exact same time.

Nile, Knight of Uranus

He'd seen a lot of s**t in his life time. But something as simple as not being able to get into something, to go somewhere was the one thing that could consistently catch him off guard.

Which was probably saying something.

So when the summons from the Code appeared, the Knight sighed. Some questions answered, but more were now in their place.

Whatever.

He let himself be pulled, making a face when he finally arrived. It was always such a funny feeling. At least, to him it was anyway. Didn't matter what side he was on. He scanned the crowd, unsure if he was surprised by the sheer amount of people there or not before his gaze fell on a familiar color palette. Greens, browns, golds and an Auburn he knew over countless life times. Nile made his way over, cutting through the crowd before unceremoniously dropping his head onto his husband's shoulder, careful, at least in avoiding any of the Knight's hair, lest he snag and pull it. He did not comment on the way Lyon gripped at his weapon. Nile knew. He understood. There'd been many a time when he felt similar.

Nile gave the Knight next to Lyon a little wave before lazily wrapping them around his waist. "Nice hat." He said in lieu of a greeting. "Is ya'lls s**t being weird too?"

Erytheia was glad the page of the Moon was not injured, just a bit in shock.

He walked forward when the Code began to speak. It was hard to hear so he moved closer, but not too close. He watched it once more with a close eye.

“I cannot reach my wonder. Nor could Camelot. And I know there are others, too. For the past week, Erytheia has been closed to me.”

He looked back at the other knights.

“I don’t know what is happening to our wonders.”

Squire Irkalla of Cosmos

Irkalla had needed a moment to get adjusted to her new surroundings and it was with a little jolt of clarity that she realized that upon her arrival that someone was immediately addressing her. The knight that had spoken to her was leaning against a rather impressive-looking hammer and while she had appeared rather close to the weapon in question, there was enough room to move around if she needed to.

Did she need more space in order to feel comfortable in this rather large gathering? It was possible. She gave the knight a tentative smile before shaking her head, "no need to apologize. I think if anyone had to offer apologies it'd be the thing that brought so many of us here without making sure there was adequate room."

Irkalla had remembered talking to Erytheia's piece of the Code and the information it had bestowed her with but she had often brushed off the idea that she visit her wonder since then. "I think I'm okay with the space that I have here, you don't have to move if you don't want to."

Irkalla meant what she said, she neatly squeezed herself to the knight's right side before taking in the view of the room. "Ever seen this many knights in one gathering?"

Nalanda, Knight of Cosmos
(Giving Crisium a little breathing room, but is still near him, Qingcheng, Erytheia, and Amsvartnir. He is staying quiet and listening!)

Nalanda had smiled in greeting when Erytheia approached, glad for another familiar face. He too hoped that being summoned here was a good sign. He hadn’t had the opportunity to say anything before Qingcheng had shifted his attention to a distressed page, and Nalanda offered a brief, apologetic smile.

He’d heard Qingcheng mention a doctor, but for now he hung back just enough that he could eavesdrop, but not enough that he could crowd.

Of course, he winced when Amsvartnir stumbled, and reached out instinctively as if he meant to help stabilize him. No one seemed hurt, and as Crisium explained, Nalanda relaxed. If things went wrong, he felt like he was in a good circle between all of them.

Knowing Crisium’s situation, he took a small step back to clear a little bit of breathing room for him.

Nalanda had not attempted to visit his Wonder, so it came as a surprise when Erytheia said he and others had not been able to reach them. He’d had trouble with his weapon, sure, but…

The Code’s words didn’t bode well with him. He was naturally inclined to worry, but even knowing that ‘this is correctable’, he still wondered what had been powerful enough to require a correction in the first place.

It didn't take long for Tortuga to spot his cousin, it took longer to make his way through the crowd of knights. "Shang," He greeted the other redhead, "Looks like your guess was right on the money." At least so far as it being code related. Any further time for speculation petered off when the swirling ball of magic started to 'talk'.

It seemed to give a general run down. Apparently the issues they were all experiencing was somehow connected to what ever was going on with the code. The main question was what was causing it, and how could they fix it. "What 'unnatural force'? It sounds like you have some kind of idea of what is causing this whole problem?" The squire took a few steps forward to direct his questions at the code. There were a whole list of symptoms but without knowing the cause they couldn't fix it.

Shangri-La Knight of Pluto

Shang looked up happy to see his cousin and relaxed a little, letting his gaze wander around the room, giving a nod to his cousin. "Not necessarily, the code seems ... I dont know." He wanted to say off when he gaze wandered back to it, but it seemed to not be too bad off.

Or at least he thought, until the code started to speak and it seemed akin to their difficulties power up. It sounded tired and that was very weird. He looked to his cousin as he asked his question, but chose instead to answer the code.

He spoke up, "It was fine, thriving before this week. I have not particularly enjoyed being cut off, so to speak. The oath does nothing, you go nowhere. It's not like that's the only problem though ... my staff keeps melting."

It was said matter of factly, but there was an undertone of stress ... anxiety? He looked around at the other's, many familiar and new faces to be seen. It wasnt soothing, especially to hear that yes, this was as widespread as they began to suspect.

Maya - Page of Ganymede

Goodness, it had been a long while since Maya had last powered up, more than a calendar year that’s for certain. Imagine her surprise when she’d finally decided to stretch her legs and patrol and a letter from the Code appeared before her.

“Oh, we’ll ain’t this fancy.” Curious for sure, she read the contents of the scroll as the letters appeared on the magical parchment. “Make haste huh… don’t see why not.” And with her acceptance, she was whisked away to a place she’d never been.

“Well, l be.” She glanced around the room at the crowd of knights that had gathered. Looked like there were more active knights than she’d originally thought there were, most of whom she’d never seen, that is save for a tall dark and handsome Pluto knight looking like he’d rather be anywhere but here.

“Antisana. We meet again!” Maya approached with a wide grin. “Any idea what’s going on here?”

Transcended Delphi of Polaris.

Winterlynn had been at home, she had work from home to do, when she felt the need to power up. She found it interesting that the need was there, or rather a calling which told her to power up, since she hadn't been able to power up for several days now. Wanting to keep her appartment safe, not wanting her signature tied to the building she lived in, the dark haired woman left the building as quickly as she could and once she was down the block Winterlynn ducked into an alleyway and powered up. Finding a note in her hands she accepted it - because she needed to. This would provide answers; she was certain of it.

Arriving on the moon the dark haired knight of Polaris wandered slowly, taking in those around her, so many people were here and she was not a people person. She didn't like being around so many people, it made her want to find a distant place to stand all alone and away from everyone, but she didn't. She didn't put distance between herself and everyone because she saw Hyperborea in the group. Heading there, silently, her heels clicked on the floor as she walked. Without a word the transcended knight took to standing at the others side.

Listening to the code her voice was low when she spoke, nearly a whisper. "My wonders been closed off..." Her pale lavender eyes glancing to the side, towards Hyperborea. She doubted the code would hear her, perhaps it would though.

Sig's eyes widened at all the people gathered there, each a knight. All the different colors and uniforms. It was seriously overwhelming. Exceedingly so!

He was still trying to wrap his head around everything, from being here in the first place, to the crowd of knights, when the little ball of swirling something or other started to 'speak'. Or at least he thought it was coming from that general direction. Oh! So that's the code, he silently noted as the thing started to explain what was going on, in exceedingly vague terms.

"Um, I don't know if its just my wonder or if its any of the others but Ida was able to point out my wonder and it was covered in some kind of giant bubble or force field. We couldn't access it." The young squire added, noting where his in-laws stood among the crowd, glad he wasn't there alone. "Other then the lag on powering up I haven't really noticed anything major other then being unable to access my wonder."

The others there seemed to have much more information to share, or at least more pertinent. As awkward as Sig felt speaking up, he knew he needed to make sure to share the relatively unique experience of seeing his wonder from the outside looking in.
