3 Base Traits: Introverted, Ascendant, Powerful Personality:
No one is more critical of Ilsa than herself. After enduring a life of bullying by her peers she’s learned that the safest way to protect herself from ridicule is to keep quiet. As much as she likes being around other people, she finds it exhausting to keep playing by their social rules just to be accepted and she always fears the moment they’ll eventually start jabbing at her. For every step she’s ever taken forward in making connections she’s always been pushed three steps back.
Despite all of this Ilsa is determined to prove herself to them. She knows there are things wrong with her, things they’ll never accept, unless she can make herself valuable to others. An asset that they can’t throw away! One they’ll have to look on with awe. So, to that end, she works tirelessly to better herself. She doesn’t enjoy lounging about or leisurely activities so much as she does physical exercise. This coupled with her isolating attitude makes her come across as an intimidating soul when in all reality she’s simply an awkwardly suspicious one.
Ilsa’s force of will is a powerful thing! Once she’s set her mind to something it’s going to happen one way or another. In that regard she’s taken after her mother, Kanai. She’s known to be a reckless individual who will shove past physical barriers just to prove she has something to give, no matter the kind of harm it will do to her in the process. Some say it’s an admirable thing for one so young to care for others by training herself to be so strong, but others are wary of a youth who cares so little for her own well being. It speaks of a broken mind, and that in itself is cause for concern.

History
Kanai and Ayona were young when they met on the beaches of Matori. Kanai was traveling with her sisters when they came across an Elarian seeking her fortune in a world that held little love for her. Still, she was happy enough to strike up a conversation with the passing Alkidikes and her cheerful demeanor drew Kanai closer to her. When Kanai’s sisters wanted to move on she stayed to spend more time with Ayona which only served to forge a rift between the sisters. It was easy enough to tell from the flirting what was happening, and they wanted it to stop. Still, Kanai stood her ground and soon enough it was just the two of them.
For a while they were happy like that. They traveled across Matori into Oba and spent many a month just enjoying one another. Kanai learned that Ayona was far less skilled at cooking than she was swordsmanship and Ayona learned that Kanai’s laughter was as easy to bring out as her rage. Still, Kanai knew that she wouldn’t be able to stay away from home for long before her family tracked her down so when she decided to return home she brought Ayona with her; as her partner.
Ayona was kept away from Chibale. Despite the growing relationship between the tribes there were still hard feelings from older generations that refused to fade; feelings that Kanai’s family were not shy to express. When Ayona tried to walk away Kanai stood her ground and kept faith in her love, faith that only bolstered Ayona’s. While the pair weren’t sure how they were going to make it work they knew this was much more than a youthful fantasy.
So, time passed and the two were happy enough to live in Jauhar on the fringe of Chibale. Some of Kanai’s friends adjusted to the pair, some outright shunned her, and Ayona’s family dropped all contact as soon as they learned. She was a single child of an older, traditionalist Elarian so that didn’t come as a surprise.
As time passed and their friends became mothers the pair often wondered what life would be like if they were given the chance. Kanai knew in her heart that Aisha would never deny them, but Ayona wasn’t as strong in her beliefs. She often told Kanai that she should go on her own, that her presence would only anger everyone, but Kanai wouldn’t have it! So, when word came that another pair, an alk and an elarian, had asked for a bloom…and succeeded….Well, Kanai hadn’t wasted time!
The two pushed through the opposition and made their way to Aisha. They prayed as often as they were allowed until the day finally came! A little bloom of their own…a precious little bundle with features so unique that they knew she would change the world…

It's an odd experience for her, but it's helping to round her out.
