ŦσÑÑ‚ Rєєd is located along the coast on the south west end of SσlÃtαs. It used to be a major base of operations for defense before the fall of Atlas, now it is nothing but a skeleton of its former glory. The frozen winds have long taken over, and the inner walls are piled high with snow. The fort has several large towers with anti-aircraft turrets. There is only one way in and one way out, and that is the main gate. Most of the base is located within the mountain itself.

Once Valleria finally got out of the ship she felt like a small girl once again. the snow under her feet, the freezing wind that rushes her face, she missed it so much! With a sigh of relief Valleria fell on her back right into the soft snow “such a nostalgic feeling†she said to herself before getting back up on her feet, she would wait in the side for the other students to get out with a gentle expression, was she just homesick this entire time? This place makes her way more relaxed than anywhere else in Vale even if it was one huge military base.

"Ice cold! Narx shouted as he got hit by a blast of frigid Atlas air. The temperature was not something he was used to. Not anymore at least. The air felt like ice as it filled his lungs. He would bump into another student, Valleria, a girl he recognized from Beacon but had never talked much too. "Oh, pardon me." he said as he shifted to the side. All the students and several military personel would shuffle out of the ship and start heading to storage compartments on the side as ramps slide out and doors opened wide. There were several different unloading stations.
"Such a big ship..." he mumbled to himself and Danaë, Vall would be able to hear him too.
"That is Fort Reed I guess." Narx admired the large fortress. Though it's guns were frosted and appeared un-used for many years. Still able to be repaired though. Would be fun to see the base transform over the next few weeks. A guide would gather all the people exiting the ship and take them up to the base in smaller groups as to not clog the gateway. Narx felt fortunate to be one of the first groups to head up into the base.
They would first pass through the stone gates. Then traverse a medium sized flat courtyard of sorts. One likely used for military physical training. Then finally at the base of the mountain that was Fort Reed they would begin the climb. Several steep switchbacks that could only be done on foot until they reached the large metal door to the fort itself. The fort was massive. A stronghold. It was full of life with military equipment all over. The first large room was a dining hall of sorts. The security checkpoint was inside due to the cold, but ones past it you were free to roam. There were two large halls. One to the left and one to the right.
Narx would wait with the others to get their briefing from the military official in charge.
Danaë couldn't help but blush when Narx said their name was perfect. If they didn't have the initials, then they wouldn't be tam Sweetheart. She wanted to nuzzle him right then and there, to hide her blush, but it wasn't the time.
They would walk outside, and she would feel the cold air pierce her lungs. She shuttered a little from the pain. Menagerie wasn't even this bad. Though, it was more humid and hot. This was just pure ice. She actually felt comfortable where ever her feathers were. It was helped by the coat as well. She would get closer to Narx though. She knew he didn't have the same adaptions as her. She wouldn't deny him her spare heat in such a cold place. "It seems so." She would then whisper in his hear, hopefully so Val didn't hear her. "If you need extra heat, please let me know. I can help." Even now, she felt warm through her coat.
Outfit updated, luggage on her back, and Ulv Lofte in her left hand, she would look back to her companion after her comment."Thank you,"The petite wolf-girl replied, though slightly confused how it would be thicker. Outside the airship, her hackles stood on end from the cold still as they were just outside Fort Reed's gate.Ylva cursed inside her head before growling softly. She would think of her extremely hot desert home just then and how she'd want to be there instead as they followed the rest of the students. Ears twitching from the sounds of the wind, the students, and the airships would soon be folded back against her head during stronger wind blows.
Annoyed they had to be outside still until everyone else was out, her tail swaying low and slow under her cloak would be the only indication of any further annoyance."Have you ever experienced such weather,"The petite wolf-girl inquired of her friend, genuinely curious. While the desert got cold during winter seasons, snow and ice were not so common except in very rare occasions."Heat is much better...I wonder what it's like in there,"Ylva thought, only for a minute before her attentions turned to the Fort itself. Then, she would wonder what their base would be like inside...and just how these missions were going to go for further reestablishing Altas' reclaiming.

His only consolation was that it was Remus who was dominating in general there instead of the soldier; he at least was beat by his teammate rather than a stranger. It didn't help that he...did not have a strategy for these games other than button mash. Which can only go so far, and tonight luck was not on his side for it. Despite the thrashing, he still had fun playing and trying out characters. While Chlo had left earlier, he would have left around the same time as Remus. At Remus' comment on doing co-op on insane difficulty together, Henryk would smile and nod. "Definitely. We need to find the hardest game there is and just destroy it!" Henryk would have chimed in enthusiastically, even if he was tired from the long session of gaming. Though, silently, he made a vow to get better and beat Remus at the game in the future. He would just need to dedicate time to training...maybe...Probably not. Luck would surely shine on him in the future right?
Everyone, Henryk included, was fairly silent the morning of their landing. Even after their eventful awakenings, the anticipation of what was to come seemed to hold their attentions more than casual conversation. The fact that even Henryk was silent because of it was saying something. As he awaited his team to pass through the scanners, he would see a few others head off first. One being the guy who had briefly joined them for movie night but had left soon after, mostly having kept to himself. Henryk still gave a friendly wave to him though nonetheless, and soon enough his team was through as well. All of them were dressed as to their style; well, Henryk and Remus more so than Chloris but brown was still an earthy color. A part of him thought she looked cute in it as well. Now gathered and slowly being ushered out, Henryk would speak. "Auras up if you don't want to freeze. I know we feel nice and toasty now, but out there is a whole new level of cold," Henryk would warn his team. Remus probably needed no such warning, but it didn't hurt to do nonetheless. Henryk also had no illusions of trying to be macho and try to bear the cold, knowing he was not built for it, and quickly activated his aura as a brief rainbow of colors could be seen outlining him.
Once outside, he was glad for his aura shielding; he could see amongst the others there that some people did not do so and were probably regretting it. He still felt the cold, just nowhere near as bad as if he didn't have his up and his new warm clothes on. Exhaling, he would see a cloud form in front of his lips from it as a smile lit up his face. Immediately...he would reach down to cup some snow. He was half tempted to rise and throw a snowball at one of his teammates...but he held back for now. Mostly cause of all the military guards around them. Instead, he would juggle a couple snowballs as he walked with his team further with a smile on his face. "How do you like your first time here Chlo?" Henryk would ask his teammate with a smile, walking backwards now to face his team. He would try to keep conversation with them and the mood light as they walked through various areas, up stairs which forced him to turn around and actually stop juggling, and then into a base that was inside the mountain itself. Henryk and Co. would just follow to where directed, potentially, while glancing around and waiting to see what was coming next. "Any idea on what to expect equipment-wise here Remus?" Henryk would ask curiously, in case he knew anything. ✘ Post count: 116 ▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ OOC:
Xanthe followed along behind her friend, she was geared up for a harsh winter back on her island but the sheer coldness took her breath away as they stepped out into the frigid white world. There was the cold she had known before, the wet slurry of an attempted blizzard that had tried to pour on the island but had hit the salty air and given up, harsh and endless winds that has lowered the temperature further to the point where no sane person would leave their home. Then there was this, snow collected in places, ice hung from walls, she could feel her blood slowing down as her heart slowed. She activated her aura and sucked her arms into her jacket, wrapping them around herself to keep some semblance of warmth. Ylva asked her if she had ever experienced this before. "Once... a storm..." Her lips seemed to be solidifying and so she adjusted her aura a little, pausing to concentrate on the task as she felt herself beginning to slow but an uncomfortable amount. She gave it a few more seconds to see if that had had any effect and after deciding it had finished her reply. "No." There had been a story, about the worst storm she had ever seen and a fight to save their homes as a fire raged while rain lashed down, and how two of their number had got lost and had to sleep with seals to keep warm, but ultimately the answer was no. "Inside?" She gestured towards the fort with her upper half and started walking towards the closest door, tunnel vision activating as she trudged through the snow.
She elbowed the door she had been heading to open, and slipped inside. The temperature was noticeably warmer already and she could slip her arms back into her sleeves without thinking they were going to fall off. She waited for Ylva to get inside and shut the door. "Did you know it was going to be this cold? They said it was going to be chilly, but..." She shook her hands to show this was way colder than advertised. She looked down the corridor, as if noticing that they were inside for the first time. There was a sign pinned to the wall, one side said Exit with an arrow, while the other side said atrium with another arrow. "I guess we find those bedrooms, the canteen and then hope we get a posting to visit the secret volcano lair." She set off towards the atrium, "You know, I thought the seal fur would be enough, is yours warm?" She hadn't considered that perhaps sharks were just ill-suited to the artic.

Chloris had been curious to watch but, then sleepiness had taken her earlier than her mates. It seemed the sleep had done her good though since by the time they woke, they were at the Fort. Once they were ready, and all their stuff was in their hands, they would follow with the rest of the teams to outside. Nodding to Henryk's warning, she was expecting cold."Yikes,"Chloris hissed from the cold; despite their auras being up and the winter clothes, the wind bit at her face. It was worse than winter back home, in truth."Dammit, that's colder than a frog's tail,"The young woman sighed internally. Looking to her leader and their taller teammate as they walked off the ship, through the gates towards the inside of Fort Reed.
Instinctively, she would bring the arm with her plants around the inside closer to her chest. Looking back to their team leader, mossy-green and emerald eyes would sparkle lightly."Could be worse."Chloris thought, though answered thoughtfully."Colder than the mountain winters, but I like it,"Chlo responded with a small smile before poking Henryk's side playfully. She would then turn her gaze towards Remus when Henryk would inquire of what they should expect as they walked up the stairs and into the mountain fort itself. And thankfully out of the cold winds.

SEBASTIAN HYDRA / Shadow Minister of Defense-¨Im just a real sicko when you get to know me. It why I am a Hydra ¨
Before he could get any information from Aurelia about the students that were going on the adventure he was already being called to the base to make preparations. It seems things were going to be picking up fast. Looking over the new information presented before him, he would look at the teams that were available. The missions that needed to be high priority he was going to be careful on selecting. "You guys already made a breakthrough? Good work gentleman" He praised as he started to select the teams and go over the assignments. The guards around would help anyone that had a need. The base was big but it was basic. It came equipped with living quarters, a technological armory, a situation room, and some private rooms that had multipurpose. Nothing major. There was a laboratory but there were many components missing. Seemed the base was hit by refugees long ago. They would need to get components to get it back operational but where to start? Where would they get that? He did not know. He had to just think and adapt. It did not seem anyone of technical skill was among the group, but he could be overlooking them. He hoped Aurelia jumped in with an opinion. Hitting a button on his scroll, he would make some soldiers prepare maps and synopsis information for the teams along with maps so they know what they needed to do and where they needed to go.
"Sorry for the short notice. Unfortunately, we need to go ahead and get the missions started. We do not have time to waste. The following students will be sent out into the field. Team Harem;. Team Sweetheart. Team RA. Team XY. Any team not mentioned will be briefed and looked over before being sent out to the field due to security risk reasons and other....issues that have to be addressed. Please go to the armory and get your weapons checked out and the supplies needed. You all will be equipped with a GPS beacon to where the location of your mission will be. Team Harem, you will be heading out and focused on the goal of re-establishing communications. As for team Sweet Heart. Team RA and XY you will be going into the fields on a more civilian type of exploration. The exploration will be in two parts. Team RA and Sweetheart will be going towards the deeper regions of Solitas. Famously rumored as the bunkers. As for Team XY, you will be personally partnered with my officer Scarre Naito's and head towards exploring a side Mecca of Solitas. You will go ahead and scout. Later on a second team will be sent afterward towards the same location to meet up with you. Go Ahead and everyone gets ready. For purposes, since you are all working under extreme circumstances your rations for dust have been doubled. 6 Large and 16 small dust are your new rations. Just be careful not to be blown up. Once you are ready, please meet with your guides and head out. We thank you for your service. "
Guides: HAREM- QUOTE NARX, XY- QUOTE TEDDY. TEAM SH AND RA- PLEASE QUOTE Deadly Tiger in your post once ready to begin your missions. When this occurs, a mod post will be placed in the appropriate thread.
"I'm good... I think. It's just cold. I'll adjust I am sure. Narx responded. He would trudge onwards. Mostly keeping to his own thoughts. It was too cold to talk. He did overhear a few words being said by those around him though. The most useful was from the horned guy from before about keeping an aura up. He realized then that his aura was passively already up. "Wow... It really is that cold." It was no joke. One wouldn't survive a night out here without movement at the bare minimum. Maybe with aura and movement one could survive a night and a day or some such, but it wouldn't be pleasant.
It didn't take long to be gathered up by none other than Sebastion Hydra. The current man in charge of Vale's defense. Still in an acting position. Ominously called a shadow position in Vale's council. But he seemed like the right man for the job. He exuded an aura of confidence that Narx felt he could follow. For some reason he felt that he would really like Sebastion and get along. Though he likely would never talk to the man directly. Not as a lowly student."We're getting sent out already?" he whispered to Danaë in surprise. He thought surely they'd get a good night's rest before. Then again, the first few days of setting up a base were the most critical hours.
"Shall we get our weapons then?" Narx said bumping Danaë's shoulder with a wink. The two of them would head off towards the armory to get their gear. Mostly just a backpack of emergency rations, GPS beacon, and a flare gun. Some rope and other items were in there as well. A general kit that they were often given. The main difference is this one had a space blanket and fire starter. Warmth stuff they didn't need to worry about at Vale. Not that there was much to light on fire out there in the snow-laden fields. Once they were ready they'd gather back in the main cafeteria hall. Time to wait for one's assignments.
Auburn passed through with the rest, ignoring the biting chill winds. By no means was she immune, but, she was accustomed to discomfort and was more accustomed to ignoring it. She could see Vall in the distance and kept away from her as the other students started milling about and started being led off. Without a word, she followed suit. Before long, an officer addressed the group of students, listing off some teams to get to work right away. Those he hadn't listed, the explanation made her roll her eyes. Again with the bullshit about security risk. One frightened prettyboy wetting himself and she was never going to hear the end of this bullshit it seemed. Maybe she'd get lucky at some pint and someone would eventually learn to use their sense to figure out that, had she intended to kill him, he'd be dead. Seriously, all she'd had to do was drop him while he was unconscious!
Weapon(s): Judgement is a massive sword that is 77" long, 14" wide and weighs 54 lbs, but, has no unique properties other than that. Auburn is able to wield this beast of a blade, even one-handed, because of her Semblance.
However, her boots and gauntlets are equipped with mini cannon-like guns that fire off dust rounds.
Items: â– Scroll â– Gear â– Usually an apple or two.
Along with the other group's Dee followed and listened to the explanation before moving to get the provided gear, Dee was just happy they provided a coat, who talked him into joining in on a mission that was going to take place here. With a sigh Dee Catches sight of Auburn and heads to go greet her only stopping because he noticed she didn't have any winter gear on, running back up to where they were handing out the gear and trying to catch up with Auburn. Dee didnt hate the snow or the cold just hated how it slowed him down and made him feel real sleepy as it the cool air was trying to lul him to sleep. Not think Dee would reach out to Auburn and tap her on the shoulder

Danaë would still give Narx a worried look. She didn't want him to freeze during anytime of the day. Sure, their aura was up to help with it, but she still felt bad for her boyfriend. "If it gets to be too much, let me know, I am more than glad to provide extra heat." She would then look to Narx. He mentioned it was really that cold. Most of this land of Mantle was a frozen wasteland. Towns were centers of heat, as it was needed to keep alive. "It looks like your body remembers this area, maybe your head will catch up." She had a smile on her face.
Then the Council member would speak. They seemed to be the ones who were going to try to find life in this area. They were going near where the bunkers once were. She hoped they wouldn't find corpses frozen in the wasteland as it was a land on never ending snow. She wondered if there were people, what kind of reception they would get.
"Yes, let's get our equipment." She would grab Narx's arm, her wing feathers almost crashing into him. She still wasn't used to these large wings. Danae would gather her equipment, which involved a lot of knives as anyone could see. She seemed to stash a few in different areas of her coat. She was going to need to get creative for their trip. On top of the things that Narx picked up, she would grab 2 mess kits. "Narx, don't forget dust. Even if you don't use it in combat, we can use it for survival." She herself would take 4 small vials of fire dust, 3 large crystals of fire dust, 4 small vials of water dust, 3 large crystals of water dust, she would then take the rest in a mixture of black and purple dust. She would buckle a pack to her back, as her wings no longer allowed her to slide on there. "I'm ready"

Xanthe's answer had made her ponder about the island's weather briefly. Ylva looked to her partner as they walked to the Fort Reed, wanting to get inside. When Xanthe asked if they were to go inside, she nodded."Inside,"The petite wolf-girl agreed before she would frown at the shark girl's question."I've heard stories from the Elders of the ice lands,"The petite wolf-girl answered, her aura keeping her comfortable for the most part. As they walked further in, she would agree and follow Xanthe in finding a bunk room and get settled."Hopefully we get our mission soon though,"Ylva thought, not aware her hope would be answered.
They would find a bunk room that had a bunk bed but the wolf-girl would change a little position in her backpack to be a little more organized for the mission."You ready,"The petite wolf-girl inquired of her partner. Once they were both ready, she would go with Xanthe to find the meeting area for mission."I'll have to record this for later,"Ylva thought, glad she'd packed the journal and pen to continue her personal mission here. Meeting up with the other teams and nodded in greeting before walking up to whom she thought would be the older male/officer Scarre Naito."Greetings,"Ylva said simply before looking to Xanthe and back calmly.

Xanthe followed Ylva along to a room, even inside it was uncomfortably cold. It was better than outside, considerably so, but it wasn't pleasant. She came from an island with, what what she had considered up until today, pretty poor weather, but compared to the frozen tundra she found herself in, it was paradise. The weather back home had been rain, icy cold and endless in a myriad of forms but still very liquid. It had turned to snow when winter rolled around and settled in patches before being rained away. Even then the ice went away with the passing of the season, but as they passed a window and snow blew up and around a bright white courtyard, Xanthe had trouble imagining that the same could be said here. A voice cut into her internal lament to announce that they would be getting a mission, scouting a mecca. She frowned slightly but clapped her hands together to put the most obvious question out of her mind for a bit. "Deployment, perfect! Got to keep moving." It was more to keep warm. "Yeah, lets go. Are you getting any dust?" Xanthe loathed firing her weapon so would make any excuse to not do so. There was pride and there was options, she didn't want to be caught short and be unable to use it in the worst case scenario, but at the same time, firing it would probably do more harm than good with her aim. Reunited after dealing with the quartermaster who was handing out dust, she had haggled for three red crystals which had seemed like a lot and probably enough for scouting, she joined Ylva confronting Scarre Naito, or at least someone who could be him. There wasn't much to go on but she trusted Ylva's judgement. "Team XY reporting. What's a Mecca side?" Xanthe had no idea, it sounded big.
