Name: Satori Shirogane (twin to
Nemuri Shirogane)
Nickname: Sato or Tori will suffice. She’ll answer to both! She has occasionally gotten “Satri” mostly because of the quick hollering of her name to summon her from who knows where.
Age: 8 11
Birthday: February 29
Sign: Pieces
Gemstone: Amethyst
Blood Type: A-
Fav. Food: Tarts, Quiche, Pies - anything baked with a crust, really
Hated Food: Meatloaf, Asparagus
School: Knightside Elementary
Hobbies: Animal Crossing — …something something stalk market wolf of wall street filling house with bugs sending nemu tarantulas in the mail…. but in all of seriousness, Satori enjoys the spelunking aspect of the game, and she goes through great lengths to quickly achieve some rather daunting milestones. She also… has no qualms in being relatively picky with who she wants her island to house… which means, she has experience bullying undesirable villagers out of her piddly developing island.
Collecting Bugs for Reaction Ratings (virtually) — Satori feels that she must booli sister… in Animal Crossing as of late. That being said, Satori relishes in seeing her twin sister react to all manner of things. Previously, it was simply pointing out unusual things, but lately, Satori discovered that Nemu is extremely wary of bugs… so Satori couldn’t help but capitalize on it.
Crane Games — Virtual more than arcade ones, usually wins the prizes for Nemu. She’s adept at the RNG aspect of these crane games and she places a lot of confidence in her skill to get what she wants. That being said, that kinda means she’s also great at fishing. Meanwhile, in reality, she isn’t that great with IRL crane games, and actually has to tag team with Nemu for them to win anything of value (without emptying their pockets outright).
Treasure Hunting — Before latest pastimes kept her indoors more often, Satori has a special fondness for going out on IRL treasure hunts. For some background: her father has a fondness of drawing out maps for Nemuri and Satori to solve and discover the buried treasure together, but only she kept on with it while her sister became more inclined to remain indoors. Anyway, Satori probably has a bright future whenever it comes to escaping from being thrown into escape rooms (… should that continue to be a fad by the time she’s eligible to participate, that is).
Virtues: fearless optimism — …she ain’t scared of no ghosts (or bugs)!!! Satori brims with confidence that things will not be total disaster. She feels that wallowing in sadness would impair her ability to find the silver lining or bright side of things and honestly, she enjoys smiling rather than frowning. This is further amplified upon seeing Nemu’s hesitation here and there, encouraging Satori to act for the both of them.
boldly boldfaced boldness — Satori is forward and unabashedly beams and/or radiates adventurous (gremlin) energy. This is amplified whenever she is paired with her more shier and meek twin or lately, with others that have her best interest at heart (or so she thinks?). To that end, Satori marches onward, seeking to grab whatever is of interest to her and thinking that whatever she has gotten her hands on is of greatness… or something. If it’s interesting, she’ll make a statement out of it.
clever when cornered — While she’s not the brightest, Satori’s knack with thinking outside of the box whenever she is cornered does reward her with some rather ingenious ideas that more often than not… tend to work in her favor. Is it sheer luck? Perhaps! Is it foolhardy? Certainly. Does she think it’s better than nothing? Certainly.
Flaws: sometimes an insensitive bother, unfortunately — Because she exudes “big gremlin child energy” and everything that goes with it… Satori at times (actually, a lot of the time, probably) doesn’t realize that her manner is causing others around her to feel like they’re being pushed around, being made fun of, especially whenever they are her prank targets. Plus, Satori could be plainly annoying to those older than her, thinking that her pranks are much too troublesome and bothersome. In time, Satori will learn that this is how she’d lose friends, and this would cause her to understand that there’s a limit to things. Putting this understanding into practice may be one of her greatest challenges yet.
grump stomps — Whenever things challenge Satori’s fountain of confidence, she gets rather testy and sometimes downright grumpy. While she dislikes being questioned when she doesn’t have answers for it, she gets grumpy when things just fail for her and not work as they should. She hasn’t quite learned that failure is not always a terrible outcome, but as a child who seems so accustomed to success, it’s not shocking that she gets confused and pouty when it doesn’t go her way.
petty sore loser (for thirty seconds to a minute) — In conjunction to her malaise of grump, Satori does take failures and disappointments rather hard. She grew up swimming with fortune, so whenever the rug is pulled from her, Satori doesn’t quite understand why. And, because she is a twin, she feels that things between the two should be fairly egalitarian. That’s not the case in reality, and she feels somewhat vilified as a result from time to time. The silver lining is that she does switch gears and return to her usual optimistic grinning self, electing to focus on other things.
