Description - Brexxa has ombre toned hair of the typical Matorian teal and aqua. As a youngling her hair was kept short by her dad, Gael, to avoid it getting knotted up and matted.
Accessories - An arm band.
Personality - Wary - Since she has dealt with a lot in her young life Brexxa tends to be wary of most people. She warmed up to Gael a lot quicker than she ever did with others but it had more to do with how he spoke to her treated her. When it comes to adults she's less trusting of them unless they can prove that they aren't out to hurt her or her family. Brexxa doesn't trust large animals either, since they can sometimes cause harm without even meaning to.
Inquisitive - Once she gets past her initial wariness Brexxa opens up and becomes the most curious little mind around. She loves to learn things and seems to always have some questions to ask. Her attention can usually be found in a book when she's relaxed or if she's on high alert she can be found studying her surroundings with an almost expert eye. She makes a point of knowing all she can about where she is and who she's with.
Doting - Brexxa is a big sister and she takes that role seriously. She often showers her baby brother with love and attention.Since she has been with him since birth she often makes sure that he wants for nothing. As she gets to know others and becomes close with them she will open up and show them similar affection. (For example - when she grows older she will dote on Gael and make sure her dad is taken care of in the absence of a woman. So she will take on the cooking and cleaning roles and might even try to play match maker.)
Protective - What's hers will be defended by any means necessary. Brexxa has a protective streak that runs deep within her. It can sometimes cause friction with others, as was the case when Tiia had first found her and her brother, but more often it is used to keep those close to her safe and unharmed by the world.

Brexxa was born to a young woman who thought she was ready to become a mother. Her father was always in and out of her life as he was busy working or traveling. It was rough going the first three years since her mother seemed to always need help or would forget the little things. Brexxa didn't really know that her mother was failing since she didn't know any better but she often heard other women tell her mother that she was horrible or forgetful.
During one of the times her father was home from traveling she remembered her parents fighting. While the subject of the fight was something she couldn't grasp she did know that her parents were not getting along. Her little ears caught on to a few words and when her mother started to cry she ran out and told her father to leave her alone. The reaction she got was a shove that knocked her into the table and had her laying on the floor.
Her father was disgusted with how Brexxa acted and told her mother that she didn't want another child with her due to how unruly their first one was. Brexxa's mother, feeling that she could not go on without the man, decided then that when the new baby was born she was going to leave it and Brexxa in the jungle. It was her hope that without either child to get in his way then her lover would return to her and they could be happy again.
When that day did come Brexxa could only remember her mother handing her the baby and then walking away. When she tried to follow her mother she received a slap to the face. The words her mother used against her caused the child to tear up but she held onto her baby brother fiercely and watched the woman walk away from them both. While she didn't understand the reason behind it she did understand that she and her brother were on their own.
For the next year and a half Brexxa stole the food that she and her little brother needed to survive. It weighed heavy on her little shoulders and when Tiia, the woman who ran the orphanage found them, she tried to attack her to keep her from her baby brother. Brexxa did everything from scratching and slapping to hair pulling and biting. It took quite a while before Tiia was able to convince Brexxa to let her help. (The woman won her over by bringing food and blankets for her brother.) Seeing that the woman didn't intend to harm them she willingly let Tiia take them both to the orphanage. When asked what their names were she could only say Brexxa and Lake. Though her pronunciation of Lake sounded like Lach. So Tiia assumed the boy was named Loch. Brexxa thought for a long moment before finally looking at her sibling and saying, "His name is Lochlyn."
It took a while for the two to settle in, though of course Lochlyn seemed to warm right up to people. Brexxa didn't blame him since he had been too little to remember the day they had been left all alone but she would always watch to make sure no one was about to hurt them.

WATER
The people of Matori live in small, very humble huts and shacks in Matori's cities and villages. Their conditions in the larger villages are cramped, while the outskirts spread farther out to accommodate what farming they can do to provide for themselves. Their proximity at all times to the water has made light and loose clothing something of a norm, as well as anything aquatic and fish inspired designs.
The water earthlings are one of the most unique looking race of earthlings in Tendaji, with blue-green skin and lighter green markings that seem to be located in the same location and pattern for all the people of Matori with only the slightest variation in the number of dots. They do not have crystals, and their eyes are a golden-yellow or orange in color with pupils that sit as horizontal ovals rather than the perfect circle. Their ears are arguably their most unique feature, seeming to have taken on the resemblance of a fin, with an almost transparency to them. Their hair is commonly black but can range from mid to very dark blue-greens and greens, and their eyebrows seem to grow in patches rather than a continuous line.
The people of Matori have been under the control of Oba for as long as they have known in their histories. While they and born and raised in Matori, the majority of their inhabitants are picked as slaves at any variation of age depending on the work that needs doing. Now that they have been freed of their bondage to Obans, their culture is beginning to find ways to separate itself from the fire earthlings and become something unique.
Religion The people of Matori, due to their close though rather forced relationship with Oba, believe in the same pantheon of Gods and Goddesses as their former enslavers, though a few of the names seem to have shifted and evolved. There is always a different name to pray to depending on the situation at hand. The major players in their pantheon include:
Nessat King of Gods, god of judgement (Oba: Nerad)
Ome Essd Queen of Gods, goddess of life and death (Oba: Essd)
Drach'ti God of storms and rain (Oba: Drach)
On'os God of time and fortune
Len Goddess of fishing and feasts (Oba: Lenoxe)
Kiyom God of wood and lumber
Hatald Goddess of fertility, marriage, and women
Jonal God of men and war
Ubeli'ae Godess of the moon and ocean (Oba: Ubeli)
Atun God of the sun, forging fires, and desert
Government Having been under the control of Oba for so long, there isn't much of a governmental system for the people of Matori. They have lived their lives and their history as the very bottom rank of Oba's governmental views. Now that they have been freed of their oppressors, they are beginning to establish their own government based on a group of counselors who live on the market chain to the south. Those who have problems seek out a meeting with the counselors to come to a solution. Counselors are usually the most successful merchants and some of the strongest warriors during the War.
Update Over ten years has now passed since the people of Matori were freed. Their commerce and trade has increased exponentially, and their people are flourishing as a culture of their own. (This also means that quested characters should take this into account when designing their histories)
