ASPIRATIONS/PERSONALITY/BIO
Aspirations: To be as amazing as her mother one day.
Personality: Fui Fui is a very sweet girl, often times seen at the side of her mother, eager to learn everything that she can from her. She loves the idea of being able to do as her mother does and she works hard but that doesn't mean that she does everything perfect, in fact it's sort of the opposite. She's the sort that one would call a major ditz, often getting things mixed up, getting lost when left alone for too long, tripping over her words when excited, and she's a bit clumsy as well.
All of this doesn't stop her from trying her best though it sure make the path to getting things done a bit slower going. Her mistakes have gotten her banned from helping her father with his work and she's accidentally cut herself before and while she takes it in stride it doesn't seem to be something that Liama's heart can take.
When it comes to her parents she's completely spoiled being their only child. It's just not something that's gone to her head since it isn't as though she has them all to herself at all times, not with her mother having many fans and her father spending his days cooking for those that bring him ingredients. What it has done for her is make her the sort that lacks the ability to perceive personal bubbles. She loves to be near to people, holding hands with them, hugging them, linking arms, and the like. The idea that others might not be a fan of the same would likely be confusing to her. It's a lesson she will need to learn through trial and error most likely.
Bio: Fui Fui is the only child to a very energetic, flashy woman that entertains others with song and dance. Her mother is admired by all, Fui Fui included. She's the sort that move around on a whim, travels, flirts, and loves without abandon but that has left her forever single, not that the woman mind. Fui Fui was a surprise baby in that Hau'oli never really thought herself mother material. The idea of having a child was something that seemed to be for others only but when the actual opportunity arose to have a little one of her own she jumped on it. The arrival of her daughter was something wonderful that caused Hau'oli a great amount of joy... though didn't really cause her to get married though.
The birth of her daughter actually got her to settle down, for a time at least, but once she was old enough the two of them started to move around once more as a pair. Liama was there to help out where he was needed, wanting to be more then just a donor, but he didn't quite have the skills to get Hau'oli to stay with him in a forever way.
Fui Fui knows of her father, a hardworking man who is very much the opposite of her mother, and from time to time they visit him or he visits them. He's stubborn and very serious a lot of the time, hard working at his craft from dawn to dusk, making sure those who need food get it. He's always got his head down, focused on his work, seemingly only able to open up around the woman he loves. He often asks the woman to settle down and marry him but just as often is refused, something that he is used to by now. That doesn't mean that he is about to halt his requests, half because he still wishes them to be together and half because it almost feels customary to do.
From time to time she will actually stay with her father and watch him go about his work but for the most part Fui Fui spends her time with her mother.
~ Fui Fui is a sweet, adorable, cuddly, hands on girl that wants to make lots of friends! She's often seen alongside her mother as they travel around, meeting new people and entertaining any they run across!
~ Fui Fui is still working on her various skills, getting better at singing under the guidance of her mother. She hopes to start to travel soon, to see more distant lands, and meet people from other tribes. For the time being though she's happy to make friends within the reef while preparing for possible travel.

FUI FUI'S HOME
~ Mother: Fui Fui's mother is a traveler, the sort that doesn't really settle down for long periods of time. Fui Fui is the same way, following her mother from place to place, watching her work, and doing her best to try to learn the same skills. It's a very exciting lifestyle though maybe she misses not having a real place to call her own from time to time. The only exception being when she stays with her father.
~ Father: Fui Fui's father makes his home in the coastal village of Ioke where he works hard preparing food for those that gather the rare species that are captured from the ocean. When she stays with him it's quite a change of pace for her but something she quite enjoys since Ioke is quite special in her eyes.

THE HAPUNA
The smallest of all the races in Kahikina, these reef dwellers are known for their colorful bodies and playful personalities. The Hapuna have warm, sun kissed skin that is a backdrop for their colorful eyes, hair, and striped scales. If the coloring wasn’t enough, they also have flashy fins that have grown longer than most other races, giving them a fae-like appearance thanks to their tiny bodies. They don’t tend to wander away from their reef structures, and would rather sunbathe than hide beneath the waters.
The main home to the Hapuna is the great inland reef, a place they consider their home and a boundary from their deep-sea neighbors. Although this reef land is located in a somewhat shallow, inland sea, the great reef structures provide homes to the Hapuna. During high tide, it’s difficult to see the correct path to not get caught in the land, however during low tide the colorful reefs crest above the surf. It is during this time, mid-afternoon, that most Hapuna travel to the surface to sunbathe on the flat reef structures they call home.
Originally, the reef was made of one single structure, but thanks to the great drought it has since broken up into smaller settlements. The largest settlement is still in the center of the inland sea, and the only way to travel outside of the reefs are two paths on each side that go from land to deep sea. Before the great drought, these pathways were some of the most traveled in all of Kahikina, and were prime locations for merchants of all races to sell their wares to travelers. It will still be some time before these make-shift bazaars open up once more.
The Hapuna are playful and carefree, and are one of the most peaceful and friendly races in Kahikina. Although they don’t tend to wander, they are swift swimmers thanks to years of living in the tides and can easily navigate the shallow lands of the reef. In the past, they have been the main communicators between the seawater and freshwater races, as they are able to adapt the easiest to the water change. However, whenever any conflict would arise, they were the first to hide away in their sun-soaked homes.
Religion The Hapuna have developed their faith around the tides of the ocean. Because they live in the reefs, they are intimate with the impact that nature has on their life. Water is seen as the life and energy of the world, and the tides are the breath of the world that brings life to the land. Many Hapuna venture into the waves during high tide, contemplating life as they settle into the gentle embrace of "Mother Ocean". From a young age, Hapuna children are taught to understand that the 'chaos' of the tides is not something to fear, but to enjoy and master.
Because of this almost metatative practice, the Hapuna religion has taught its people to relax, breath, and embrace the waves of life, all while taking time to look beyond the chaos and see the beauty in the source of the waves of life. There is no pressure in their religion to pray or follow any sort of rules, but simply to listen to nature, respect "Mother Ocean", and be at peace with oneself.
Government There is no set government among the Hapuna, as they aren't ones known to fight or join in conflict. Often, they will avoid any fights and hide away in their reef, but if they have to make any major decisions they generally will come together in a sort of democracy discussion. There are no major leaders making decisions on behalf of the colony, but most Hapuna tend to lean on elders who have found 'nirvana', or have embraced the tides and speak the 'language of the ocean'.
