Name: Minsoo Park (Or in the east it would be Park Minsoo. Just putting it here for the sake of it. )
Pronunciation: MinSue Bak
Name meaning: Park: Magnolia tree
Nickname: Min, and a few other nicknames - differs with the members. Their fans, and even the members, call him Minmom as well. Fans came up with it, group goes with it.
Nationalities: South Korean.
Age: 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33
Korean Age: 33
Birthday: September 27th
Sign: Libra
Gemstone: Opal.
Blood Type: A
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 125.5 pounds
Fav. Food: Jeon (with magkoli, as it should always be) as there are so many options, and there are only a few he dislikes. Kimchi also, but who doesn't like kimchi? Ohh also hoddeok! He likes savory hoddeok on cold nights, it's a comfort thing for him as much as kimchi is.
Hated Food: Octopus, he's tried it he didn't like the experience due to the suckers and moving tentacles.
School: N/A
Hobbies:
Fashion: Minsoo is young and and now a former idol - he had to care about what he looks like and what others think of his appearance, it used to be more about what someone else picked for him. But it's now about what he personally wants to wear and how he wants to appear to those around him, unfortunately the time as a trainee and an idol rubbed off on him. Even as an idol he did try and keep some of his own personal taste in the styles picked for him, and to a small extent he did succeed. At least his wardrobe is full of dark colors, which he's always favored, it could be worse he figures. When he has the time to shop he tends to shop with the group members, he doesn't like shopping alone as it's rather boring and he likes their input as well. It feels like it wasn't often enough that the group would be able to go out shopping together, but times change and with that so do other things.
Music: Music is a big thing for Minsoo. From traditional music, to go to sleep to, to loud music at concerts his style of music varies quiet a bit, which might surprise some, but with so many options and so many groups, single artists, and such how can a person just stick to one type of music? The traditional music is relaxing and perfect for going to sleep to, something he often plays on low when laying down for bed and wakes up to as well. He loves it all! It's a good thing too since he is a singer himself but there are times when he just doesn't wanna hear his own groups music, he's sung it and danced to it and performed it just too many times and gets sick of it. Plus listening to other music, whether classical or kpop, or jpop, or something else...you can always find some inspiration in it and he likes to do that - find inspiration for his next song, for new lyrics and new music. he's never been a fan of someone else writing his music for him, the beat or the lyrics, as it just...lacks in feeling in his opinion. How can a person sing, and dance, to a song about something they are clueless about or haven't experienced?
Dancing: Minsoo enjoys dancing, it's something he does at home when listening to his favorite music. It was during his audition, when he was dancing, that he was accepted as a trainee. He didn't have to wait for a call back or anything else - he was lucky. He gets to dance often, almost more often than even he wants to. It's a lot of work, tiring, long work but he understands the need to put in all the time and effort he and the group does. He isn't the main dancer though, which he's thankful for since he already works on writing lyrics for the group. He's gotten to learn different dance styles as an idol and he is happy about that, despite all the work, he just wishes they could spend more time on each style so they could learn more - not just what's needed.
Self Improvement: Whether physically speaking or mentally Minsoo is always working to better himself, he knows he has a long way to go, and he has made a lot of improvement over the years. Well aware of where he lacks, and needs improvement, he works long and hard to better himself - to be better for everyone. He has, over time, gotten better with talking to people and expressing himself and he is confident enough to mother people to the point of being annoying and starting small bouts between himself and others. There are still areas he needs to work on, several in fact, but he feels he has come a long way - and he has. He has, and still does, work on improving and maintaining his physical appearance while still working on the emotional and mental, which are the biggest hurdles for him. He knows one day he will be where he wants to be - be who he wants to be...it'll just take time and work...and he has a lot of time and is more than willing to work. It'll happen, he's sure of it.

 Knight Alias: Zhangjiajie of Neptune
Challenge:
Weapon and Magic: Page: A simple conch seashell, looks nice and natural. It's good for hitting people but it's a bit awkward really, to hold and to use to hit someone, not to mention it would break the poor shell after a single hit to the head.
Squire: Same weapon item as before a conch seashell. Now though Zhangjiajie has magic as well. This magic is that when he channels his magic and blows into the conch, using it as an instrument, he can send out a sound wave that can make it feel like those within a seven foot radius a mild headache. His magic can last for 35 seconds. This feeling of a headache varies in severity, this will depend on the player and on how close someone is to Zhangjiajie. If the shell is removed from his possession, knocked from his hands or taken away, he will stop casting his magic earlier. Once he uses up his magic the feeling of having a headache will vanish.
Knight: The seashell has gained a bit in size and now when it is blown he sends out a sound wave can can bring about, to anyone within an 8 foot radius, the feeling of having a really nasty headache. The headaches severity depends on how close a person is to Zhangjiajie as well as the player. He can channel his magic for 45 seconds now as well. If the shell is knocked from his hands he will stop casting and will be brought to an early end. Once he has used up his magic the feeling of having a headache will vanish.

 Virtues:
On time: From early on, since he was a child, Minsoo has been on time for things. At first, since he was a child, it was because his mother or father was taking him somewhere and they were big on being on time for things. Slowly, as he got older, it became a habit of his own. Now that he's an idol and the leader Minsoo keeps a schedule planner with not just his schedule inside of it's many pages but the other, younger, members as well with notes of what they each need so he can prepare things ahead of time so no one is late - ever. it would not only be rude to keep their driver waiting but the idea of being late just...bothers him, not enough to ruin the day but enough to have him feeling guilty later on.
Hard working: Since he was little Minsoo has worked hard, wanting to please his parents, working hard and doing his best was an escape from his lack of social life and the troubles he had in school. If he could focus himself on his work, on studying, he could keep from thinking of the unhappy things. Minsoo not only worked hard in school but at anything else he has set his sights on and that included being an idol and the leader. He worked as hard, most of the time harder, than the other members. Putting in more hours to improve himself, to make sure he had everything memorized and could do everything almost on autopilot. It was, and still is, also a coping mechanism for him and something that those who know him well know about. They know the more he works at something, the more time he spends working himself hard, the more he is likely stressed or upset by something. Either way - things get done by Minsoo.
Motherly: Minsoo grew up an only child and so never experienced having little siblings, or having elder ones, so his mothering tendencies didn't show up until he was a trainee and he started mothering those who were younger than him. From making sure his fellow trainees ate, got to sleep as soon as they could so they got as much possible sleep (which wasn't much), and took care of themselves in general. It was perhaps this, and his need to be on time, which caused him to be appointed leader when his group was formed. it wasn't just because he was the eldest member. His younger members have, over time, gotten used to him randomly offering to cook for them, asking if they are hungry - are they sure they aren't? And then, despite their answers, him offering them food. Minsoo will shove members off to bed, tuck them in if he has to, and in general he tends to their every need whether they realize their needs or not he does.
Flaws:
Over working: if it isn't writing lyrics, or singing lessons it's something else. From dance lessons, performances, language classes as well as acting ones Minsoo is almost always busy doing something, even on his down time he's busy with something. If it's not related to his job as an idol he's busy cleaning up the house and taking care of his dongsaengs. It's because he's always so busy that he's known to fall asleep in the oddest of places, including sitting in corners of backstage hallways before a concert - while everyone else is getting ready. He works extra hard in order to feel like he really deserves whatever praise he gets...like he's really contributing and fulfilling his role of leader by setting an example and keeping the others taken care of. Thankfully the others typically let him sleep when they find him somewhere, unless he needs to get up and get ready to perform, leave, or do something else.
Self esteem/self confidence: Something Minsoo lacks as he honestly doesn't think he's that good at singing, he always questions the lyrics he comes up with, he always second guesses himself. He's not even good at covering this up but he's learned to try and deflect when he's on a tv show and certain topics are brought up. Outside of tv shows and deflecting the other members know of his self doubts, him questioning himself and his skills and abilities and help by telling him how good he is and how well he does. It's really them, and the fans, words which give him confidence and self esteem as he has none of his own. He figures it all stems back to having been wangdda back when he was in school, this is the second reason he dropped out of school (he simply couldn't take it anymore and his parents realized it before it was too late.)
Overbearing: Acting like everyone's mother can, at times, be a bit too much for other people - not for Minsoo who is the one doing the mothering. He tries not to, he really does, but at times his mothering has caused shouting between himself and his dongsaengs. He really does try not to become over bearing but he also knows they don't always take care of themselves like they should, so he tries to push them to do so and tries to do things for them - often. Beyond that though Minsoo doesn't really give his dongseangs much privacy as he goes right into their rooms, bathrooms as well, and cleans their rooms and bathrooms so while they could do it he does it for them, and by doing so discovers things they may not want him to. This has also caused some embarrassment, scoldings, and other discussions/shouting matches in the house. At the end of the day though - they are a family and care about each other.
Beyond his group though Minsoo has been known to question their driver, make sure he eats and is sleeping properly and everyone else who is on staff and works with them. He tries to mother everyone, even those older than he is. He's sort of taken the mothering thing a bit...too far? Really he just cares for everyone and wants everyone to be/do well.

When he was 16 Minsoo went to one of the common casting calls, in Seoul, for SM Entertainment. Here he had to showcase his appearance, which wasn't too much of an issue as well as his fashion/style, as well as his singing and dancing. Despite being wangdda in school, and his lack of confidence, he managed to have a good sense of fashion when outside of school...it was something to hide behind - looking good. If he could look good people might not see everything beyond the surface - people are shallow like that. Perhaps at the time the hardest thing for him was speaking to the judges and knowing that he had to make it through - talking under pressure and doing well plus his lack of confidence. Somehow he managed it though, for which he is still surprised about to this day.
A wait did come after the audition but Minsoo was called back and told he'd been accepted. From thousands of people to one of a handful picked. His whole time his family, immediate, was supportive thankfully, and accepted that he would be moving out and not returning to high school. They'd already accepted that after he'd made an attempt on his own life because the depression caused by school (namely the bullies) was just too much to handle.
After moving out of his parents home Minsoo was put into a dorm building/housing with other trainees like himself. This was where training began and the long hours, sweat, and more were put in. Training was a rigorous schedule of dancing, school (private schooling), singing, vocal training, and more. All this time spent with five others like himself, all male and all training to become a kpop idol, they all faced the same things. Some of them would debut before him with other groups, but they did remain friends, Minsoo over time did start to doubt himself, doubt that he'd ever debut, ever amount to anything. Others before him, others who had become trainees after him, were already making it. It didn't stop him from putting everything he had into training, but it did leave it's emotional mark on him. Finally he was told he'd debut and introduced to others - the ones he'd be with. They had all gone through the same training, they'd met in passing even, but now they would train and work together- as a group.
The newly formed group continued to train, continued to be broken down and reshaped and reborn - made into something new...something polished. He was told that as the oldest, and because he'd spent time in China training and knew the language he would be the leader. All those years - so many years had earned him the spot of leader, group mother hen eventually became the unspoken title for Minsoo.
They really were torn down, broken, and rebuilt as they each learned discipline, humbleness, and other useful and essential lessons. Each member helped the others when it was needed and gave the others support when it was needed. But they also were there to correct and scold each other as it was needed as well - all in order to succeed and become something more - something big. It was during this time that Minsoo became the mother hen of the group, slowly at first, as he took care of the youngers and made sure they were doing well, in all ways, he put himself last in all things as his own self confidence and self esteem were so low he didn't care for himself - didn't value himself as above the others but rather below.
Taken from Minsoo's notebook from trainee days:
Schedule: 5:00 am – 7:00 am: Crawl out of bed, eat breakfast - healthy food! Make sure the youngers eat and take vitamins - it's a must! Shower, go to training. 7:00 am – 9:00 am: Study for home school classes ((basic subjects like math, history, etc)) 9:00 am – 11:00 am: Study foreign language class ((English and Chinese.)) 11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Production notes with managers or gym, hope it's the gym. 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm: Lunch - please eat healthy. Make sure the others eat enough, and that it's healthy. 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Group song rehearsal - I hope the song is good. I wish we could write our own. 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Dance practice. I need to work harder. 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: More song rehearsal - glad I'm not a rapper, and no ballads. 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Meeting with the director, choreographers, writers, and staff. So many people @.@ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: “How to act around the media” class. - Why? We all know how to behave properly. 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm: Lyric review time - I hope they didn't tinker with things again. I've finally got them memorized them. If they did tinker with them I'll just have to memorize them again. I wish they'd leave them alone once I've memorized them. 9:30 pm – 10:00 pm: Dinner - try and eat healthy! Watch how much the youngers eat. We are all on a diet. More vitamins as well. Maybe cut back on the rice. 10:00 pm – 12:00 am: Dance while singing practice - not as easy as it looks. 12:00 am – 1:00 am: Final rehearsal with an overview of tomorrow’s plan. - Can I sleep now? 1:00 am – 5:00 am: Showers and sleep! Finally sleep! Get the youngers to hurry in the showers then off to bed for them all. I need a new pillow - damn.
This schedule went on for two years for Minsoo before the groups debut, not that it got any better. Actually it got worse as far as he was concerned; somewhere in there performances have to fit after all, as well as tv shows and radio shows. But through it all he's managed to keep himself together, despite a few trips to the hospital for over doing it a.k.a: exhaustion, dehydration, sleep derivation, and he's kept the youngers together as well; mostly anyway. He's learned how to manage himself better and while tired; no way around that, he has gotten better about the other things. It's given him something to focus on and a need to be responsible.
"What's your blood type?" When you first meet someone in Korea, you will often be asked this question. Unlike the West, Koreans place great importance on a person's blood type. In fact there are even many movies about this subject. In the west people might ask your horoscope, or sign, but most don't take it seriously even though they may know a little about a sign or a bit about each sign. It's not taken too seriously, or at all, by most people. However in Korea blood type is taken seriously enough that most people do know what blood type they are and ask others this question, it can make or break a relationship. There is even an exclusive group in South Korea called Chocoball and it's just for celebrities/idols with type AB blood. Blood type is taken so seriously in South Korea, not that an exclusive club it's serious enough, they have books, comics, songs, and products on sale, all based on the idea of blood type. But to also perhaps demonstrate how serious it is on South Korean Facebook, people can even add their blood type to their profile along with other important personal information.
Blood Type A: Words to Describe: Kind, Careful, Perfectionist Best traits: conservative, introverted, patient, punctual, perfectionists Worst traits: obsessive, stubborn, self-conscious, uptight, cautious
People with blood type A are usually serious, patient, and perfectionists. They like to plan things out in detail before pursuing their goals. They’re very cautious and stubborn, and others perceive their desire to make everything perfect as obsessive and uptight. Type As are also very timid and indecisive in awkward situations. They’re sensitive and sentimental, often forgetting reality and getting lost in dreams.
People with type A blood are known to be more conservative and introverted than the others, often finding difficulty in expressing emotions or trusting others. They’re extremely patient, considerate, and reserved, but also highly creative and perfectionists, often giving people the impression as being stubborn, tense, and uptight.
Men with type A blood are said to be the friendly natured ones with good personalities. They’re very punctual, always expecting the best results in everything they do, but are also very sensitive and willing to give up everything they have for those they love. Due to their sensitive natures, they’re very fragile-hearted and often get hurt easily.
The women, however, tend to be very greedy and have a hard time finding satisfaction easily. They’re strong prides often lead them to act emotionless. However, they’re very loyal and caring, which often results to extreme jealousy or emotional damage upon feeling betrayed. They prefer living according to schedule, are intimidated by spontaneity, and feel distress in sudden environmental changes. Information links: 1.) X 2.) X 3.) X 4.) X
It isn't uncommon, in fact it seems the norm in the industry, but it wasn't something Minsoo had planned on - ever. He wanted to be one of those who never went under the knife, but we all know how plans can go. He wound up pressured under the knife by the higher up's and found himself with double eyelids and a new nose. While his previous appearance was nice, he really had thought he looked good, he will admit he's not displeased with his currant appearance either. He just wishes it had never happened...but since it did at least it isn't too obvious and he doesn't look bad. Information links: 1.) X 2.) X 3.) X
Minsoo uses skin toner, or whitener as it's called in Korea, on his skin to even the tone and keep him nice and "pale". It's not just toner which he uses but other products as well, all in order to keep his skin looking good and free of blemishes as well as pale and smooth, This is all rather normal for someone in his line of work, though it's also carried over to any time he's out of the house the group shares. Minsoo doesn't tan, doesn't go out under the sun unless he has something on to keep him from coloring even the slightest bit, the sun simply isn't good for a persons skin and he knows this like most South Korean people. Appointments to get acne or anything with her skin, even blackheads, treated is as normal a thing as changing your clothing each day and may remain as such here in Destiny City. Information links: 1.) X 2.) X
