Day Zero Survivor Log

Secondly, this is the report of what happenings has transpired since the event we has been calling 'Day Zero'
It was a night like every other. After I went home from my daily job, I went to my garbage and continued to work on a project I've been working since few years ago.
And without warning, suddenly all lights around the block switched off. I thought that was your usual blackout, but it wasn't...
No, I didn't know it wasn't just an usual blackout until I exited the garage. There was screaming, there was panicked people everywhere-
And then I saw them. Not the rotting figure like the ones scattered about everywhere now, but a completely human-figured Undying.
After witnessing one of them assaulted a man who had stumbled over my neighbor's prized potted plant, panic attacked. I opened the garage and took out a car that was still in repair, escaping the block. But since it was in the middle of a repair, the car broke after few miles. At first, my plan was to travel back to the place where I work, and...
...well, 'salvage' was not the word that should be used here. 'Loot'. Yes, that's the word that should be used. I know that act are a criminal one, but at that time, looting things before others claimed it seemed like a perfectly, morally right thing to do.
I brought my toolbox down from the car, and ran away before other people, blinded by rage, started to swarm it. I ran into the mall and joined the mass...
It all goes downhill from that. Even if there's no killing and raping and other things a crazed mob usually do, peoples started to forgot that there's another human around them. It started as a simple moshpit, but in the next minute it evolved into a free-for-all. Every people with goods on their hand became target, and as they claimed other's goods, they too became target.
It wasn't too long before somehow some Undying mixed into the brawl, and I'm not sure how. Did already infected individuals turned into Undying after some time passed? Or was there some source of infection near the mall? Nobody knows.
As the mobbing suddenly stopped out of fear, people sprang into action all over. Some barricaded their self inside the stores, some brave ones repelled the Undying to the outskirts of the mall, some used the confusion to ran away with their loots.
The ones inside the Mall eventually banded together, creating a Faction. I was told that this also happened at other shelters.
Afterwards, there's nothing else to be said. We did everything we can do...until now.
