Hobbies:
Crafts: Something not even his closest friend knows about him, he loves to crafty tiny things from clay kits, things like cute key chains, charms or just little clay toys. Most of the things he makes are considered 'girly' in the view of others which is why he keeps this hobby well under wraps. Markus first started this hobby on a whim, being drawing to a few cute charms at a con one year and buying them for an at the time gf. After talking a little to the stall owner he found an online website that offered clay charm making kit, though the majority of his clay he steals from hobby stores to keep the hobby under wraps, which has gotten him in trouble in the past.
Over the years he has made several charms for people, but tells them he's bought them from one place or another and given them away as gifts. His talent in the hobby has progressed a lot and he's actually pretty decent at making things freehand without kits now. Typically his does this a few nights out of the week just for some quite time and stress relief.
Yo-yoing: A hobby that is recently picked up thanks to a few new friends he's made this year at school. He's still in the beginning stage of learning how to yo-yo properly and not mess around, but he likes the challenge and thrill of learning new tricks. Maruks does use a professional yo-yo but not a fancy one just one of the beginner level yo-yos that's pretty banged up from being dropped constantly. He's learned to love flinging his yo-yo when he's mad, finding the back and forth motion soothing up until it cracks his knuckles.
Virtues:
Bubbly:: Generally Markus is always full of high spirits, not a lot can bring this guy down. He likes to be happy, why waste his life depressed and dwelling on things? Markus seeks joy and spreads it to any and all he comes in contact with normally. There are limits to his friendliness of course like anyone else he has his off days where no matter what he tries nothing goes the way he wants and he ends up depressed slightly or upset and not wanting to talk to others. However most of the time he is smiling warmly and very approachable.
Underneath all this bubbly nature does lurk a rather impressive temper however its well, well hidden by this trait and takes a lot to provoke out. But when it does come out, well, lets say a little of his temper is what has landed him in Hillworth. Again this however is yet another trait that makes him seem childish or naive even like he takes everything as a joke or just doesn't care to see reality of situations since hes always positive or smiling and while he loves jokes that's certainly not the case; he knows when to buckle down and get serious but again he'd rather not emo over things others might normally.
Fun-loving:: Since everyone else is so busy in his family, he's sort of took up the role of the youngest a little to well in that he makes sure to sport his immaturity in ways to catch his family's attention and bring them together; things like gather up big white poster boards, crayons and art supplies to have them all create a new design for their renaissance faire booth. It's all about the thrill in life, the fun, for Markus but he also loves bonding with those he loves, craves it even. As such, It's up to him to make sure they all have to come back together and enjoy life, together. Markus loves to be active, likes to explore into most anything and always if up for things that most would be to embarrassed to do like karaoke night, ect.
His fun-loving side can be taken as childish when it tends to come out in other ways as well, such as with responsibility, while he will do the things he is told well he will nine out of ten times end up half-assing something or just putting it off till he can't any longer; this however does not apply in school or work as he realizes that a) they won't let him get buy with that and b) he really isn't as childish as he lets on to be, he just well he's a teenager still unsure about his own future. Now that's not to say that he doesn't get bored in school and ends up doing things that get him landed in the principles office but he doesn't always get in trouble he knows what limits to push. But again he would rather be doing something fun opposed to having to actually take care of business.
Flaws:
Impatient:: Markus is a doer by nature. He tends to take a brief look at the facts of a situation then quickly decide on a course of action, execute said action and move right into doing whatever it is that is next. While he is hasty with most things that's not to say he never takes time to sit and think over things, normally these would be well things he has already messed up in the past or if he is being pressured to take his time on something or just realizes it can't be done as fast as he likes. With this trait he has slid into doing things with minimal effort half of the time, considering he really just wants to get things done so he can move right along with living life. Thanks to his impatience he is actually very good at improvising, though that doesn't always help him when it comes to things like a test he was to restless to studying for or something like that.
He generally knows when to buckle down however and lock his impatience away. This being recognized in his school work since doesn't so much as do a shoddy job as he does an average job of c's and b's. Most of the time he will do the work and put in enough effort to not fail or look to stupid. However he can do better if he just applied himself, which will be another growing point for the future. Basically he just wants to get back to having fun so instead of washing the car like he's suppose to he slides across it in a soap shirt to save time thus missing spots and likely to get him in trouble later for improvising. His level of impatience does vary from task to task. Markus literally is one that improvises on just about anything he thinks he can get by with, like chores, simple task ect.
Dare-Devil:: Markus is willing to plunge right into anything FUN and get his hands dirty, even if its not so safe. As such he's became quite the injury-magnet. He really is willing to take on almost anything someone dares him to do, or even says the don't think anyone could do, now while it is kind of easy to rile him up to a challenge, he knows the difference between right and wrong only..well he's adapted more in his own view that's to say; if someone dares him to break into the amusement park and skate a ride he's there cause he assumes he's good enough not to get caught, if someone dares him to hurt something or someone not going to happen but if it could potentially hurt himself well that's a different story.
He does take consequences of his actions into account before he acts, this would be one of the things he does stop to think about, however again like mentioned if he thinks he can get by with it he will attempt it. Which if that gets him into some trouble well he will obviously have to deal with that, but Markus believes life's no good without risk. If there is a dare he thinks that is to dangerous for himself well it hasn't come up yet. Markus is pretty much willing to break bones to prove he can do something. Since Markus is a prideful boy its only natural that when he fails a dare he gets a little wounded in that area but none of his injuries have deterred him from his reckless dare-devil behavior cause what doesn't kill you makes you stronger in his eyes, plus he then assumes he knows what not to do next time he tries it. He does see injuring himself on a dare as damaging to his dignity and pride, but not to the extent that he would if he never even attempted it.
