Pizza Party!

There was a party going on and for once Layne had the free time to go. A roll over the text Alex sent to his phone and a shower popped to mind. It had been a long baseball practice at the cages today and being stinky was a clear party foul. Moments later after water washed away the days stress a leather jacket, dark jean pants and ball cap wearing Layne was out the door. Smelling faintly of cologne, it was a bit of a woody smell and not too overpowering.

Making his way to the apartment complex was easy enough, hell he even met a pizza guy with a stack of piping hot pies. The guy was struggling to keep the at least six balanced considering his opposite hand held a two liter of coke. "Aye boi ya need sum help?" Layne was feeling generous and well they might be going to the same place. That meant first dibs if he was carrying and now that the sweet scent of cheese and pepperoni invaded nostrils he was hungry.

The delivery car, his own bright yellow beat up ford focus pulled up to the apartment complex. The car shut off and then he climbed out with a sign. This could turn out one of two ways, the first being he made it up with everything intact and got a huge tip like the boys at work said. Or two being he dropped a pizza off the stack and either the party goers noticed and he was reported or not tipped. Either way here he was and he was going up!

Markus was on his third week of the job, it wasn't the most luxurious of all jobs in the city but someone had to do it. Plus free pizza while at work when someone didn't pick up a call in order was always a great perk of the job.

A hand haphazardly balanced the pizza and the other slung his money bag around shoulder before grabbing a bottle of pop for the order. Being on time to stuff like this made a difference but pace walking with an armful was proving to be difficult. A call behind him startled the bluenette and he turned to look over shoulder. Spotting a pierced dude quickly approaching, for a moment he was hesitant remember his boss talking about recent pizza guy robberies but this dude was dressed up. He didn't seem like the type at least and Markus needed some help.

"Yeah, thanks dude, uh could you get the door or a couple of these?" Markus asked now at a standstill inches from the door.

The bait was taken and he kicked it up a notch meeting the guy at the door with a laugh. A hand went out and took the top three pizza's. Upon closer inspection he noticed it was a kid and was half tempted to take off with the food and go home. But the steady thump of music he felt would be a better therapy then food. "No worries man." A smooth grin was delivered and a hand went to get the door, letting the other go first before he followed him inside. "Where ya goin, hopefully tha same place as me cause this s**t smells gud as sin." A grin and :ayne moved with the pizza guy towards the elevator as it was motioned to.

When the guy moved closer Markus couldn't help but feel a little on edge luckily that crooked smile won him over. The accent tickled the teen but he didn't mention it cause lets face it being rude to help didn't get you more right? Hell if he knew the guy it could almost be charming it certainly made him interesting. "Thanks again. " Markus chuckled back some strain releasing from tone as the pizza load got cut in half. Door open he moved in and smirked, looking to the paper tag on the side of one pizza. "Third floor, " with the words he motioned towards the elevator relieved when the guy followed.

"You live here?" It was a small talk question since they were going to soon be in a small box for a few seconds. One he didn't want to spend in awkward silence.

Live in this dump, hell no, but Layne understood small talk when he heard it. Though generally not one to even bother with it again he was in a good mood. Plus they were going to the same floor as it was so why lie? "Helll naw man, M'here fer ah party.." Hopefully again the one the kid was delivering too, with a wider grin he offered , "culd get ya in if ya feel lyke ditchin work for a couple minutes score you yer first beer?" Layne couldn't help but tease as they both entered the elevator.

The metal contraption littered with some red cups, the floor buttons on the panel dirt ridden and said that either the inspectors of the place were paid off or the tenants were too stupid to call them in. A finger reached out and struck the button smoothly for the floor in question then Layne backed up to rest against the wall.
.

Markus laughed at the reaction noticing a wrinkle of the mans nose. "Weeelll just thought I would ask before I called it a shithole." He grinned feeling a little devious around the guy and unable to help it. Entering the elevator with the guy he chuckled and shook his head kicking away a cup. Settling in as the button for the floor was pressed and maybe looking twice to make sure it was right. When talk of ditching work and taking a beer came up Markus grinned and lifted a brow, "what makes you think I'm an innocent pizza guy, just because I'm young, grandpa?" The charmer was met back with a tease, of course though Markus hadn't drank he had smoked though and stole so he wasn't exactly innocent.

Shithole, hehe, ok he liked the kid now. Maybe a little bit at least and only more when the guy got brave enough to call him grandpa. The squeaky door of the elevator due his attention in the form of a lifted brow as it finally closed. "Layne, not grandpa ya little ********." The curse was purred with good intention as they started to move. A chuckle and the man peeked under the lid of a box, "dun make me lick et." The pizza guy blushed and Layne counted it as a win, leaning back into the wall of the elevator and listening to its hum.

The squeaky door of the elevator didn't only catch the others attention, Markus looked it over too. Then they started the slow ascend up. Layne huh, even his name was weird, "Markus and don't you friggin dare!" He hissed as the pizza was opened moving closer to the older man with a pout. Blushing softly in the flickering elevator light, which suddenly went out. "What the ********!" Markus yelped startled at the sudden darkness, and more so the sudden jolt of the elevator which nearly made him drop his load to the floor. To the side he heard a snicker before the light of a cell phone came up and Layne flashed it at him then the panel. "Did this shitty thing just die?" Markus was becoming increasingly panicked.

"Easy boi I aint gonna." He laughed as the other came at him, closing the lid before blinking. The lights had gone out, the elevator jumped and knocked him a bit into the wall he was leaning against. The pizza in his hand slid a bit but Layne managed to keep it stable as his new friend Markus decided to freak out. This bringing a laugh as a hand slipped into pocket and pulled out his phone. "Calm'down kid s**t." He moved the light over the others face now noticing how close he was, was the guy scare of dark? Layne didn't know nor care what he did care about was not being stuck in here.

The phone moved to the box and he pressed the panic button in red, of course nothing seemed to happen which had the man groaning. Right the lights were off did that mean the buildings power was all out or something? Didn't elevators have generators? A frustrated noise was given then he sat down and put the pizza boxes in front of him, shining the light up to Markus. "Sit, " the demand came and the guy followed with a frown. When he was settled Layne dialed the police and told them what was happening, after which they told him it would be about ten minutes to get the fire department over.

"Got five minutes buddy.." Layne hung up the phone after giving a call back number and let his head thump against the wall.

Markus was having a small panic attack, more so when nothing happened as the red button was pushed. Wasn't there suppose to be some kind of alarm? He wanted to pull his hair but hands were still full. As Layne slid down to the floor and instructed him to sit he did so all to happily. Well he hadn't dropped anything but it was still a bad night, ten minutes wasn't bad though. But that was only going to be when they got here! What if it took forever for them to actually get out of this damn thing!?

His heavy breathing echoed around the elevator until the pop and pizza was put down. Then slowly he started to relax, a hand moving to his own pocket now that it was free. Phone out he called work and told them what was going on, there was a burst of laughter on the other end and Markus hung up cussing. "Bastards! This is totally not funny, " Markus frowned and then looked to the other man in the elevator who was grinning in a way that read clear mischief.

The laughter was annoying mostly because he was in here too or it would have been funny. When the phone was hung up Layne leaned into the other man and purred, "yanno...m'offers still gud buddy, we culd both use some beers." Layne didn't mind doing temptation in fact it was funny. Then another idea came as a few minutes passed in the elevator, "...wanna eat a pizza? M'gettin hungry." The crew was outside now at least they knew that thanks to a phone call. But they had said it was going to take some time to figure out the best way to get them out. "We can say et fell when the elevator stopped, aint no one gonna know.." Layne's eyebrows waggled at the other man who promptly laughed and opened the closest pizza to them. A hand reached in and he pulled a slice up humming, "mmmm still kinda warm heh." But in fairness they had only been in here for about thirty minutes at this point.

Half an hour, they had been in here for half a god damn hour. So when the man started to tempt him again Markus was just pissed and tired enough to do it. "You have a deal hillbilly." Of course he couldn't tell that Layne's accent was anything more than slightly country sounding so he ran with that. On a laugh he opened the pizza and took one himself, Jae would be so displeased with him. But what his unrequited love didn't know wouldn't hurt him!

It was around half the pizza eaten when the lights of the elevator flickered back on and Markus shot up. Grinning as they started to move again. "Oh god man hell yes!" He smirked down to Layne and then seen the pizza, "s**t..I'm going to be fired.." Great job Markus what the heck were you thinking!? Just as he was about to panic again Layne shifted the half eaten pizza to the middle of the stack and gave him a wink. "What are you doing man.." Markus asked with a wide eyed look.

Markus was coming back to his senses as the lights flickered back on which was unfortunate since that meant he had lost his party wing man. But it didn't stop Layne, he finished the slice in hand then licked fingers before stacking the boxes again on a wink. When questioned he simply smirked and replied, "there all gonna be drunk by now, yer goin ta tha party M'at. Which means I'll bring the boxes in and no ones gonna think twice as long as ya dun say s**t." It was a hell of a plan and he was actually proud of himself, "get tha other boxes dummy." He laughed and stood up looking more than presentable as the door opened to the waiting fire department.

It was a hell of a plan and honestly could actually work, Markus nodded feeling guilty but not wanting to be fired. The pop and boxes were picked up and Markus put on a smile. After a moment to explain they were both fine they were released and on their way to the party. It was the thump of music that made his legs start to go stiff but a shove from Layne behind him and Markus knocked. When the door opened Layne took over telling them about the ride up and then about the cool pizza kid. Markus was left in a blush as the food was paid for without questions and Layne took the boxes inside. None had noticed and he wasn't sticking around for them too, "catch you around Layne!" with a yell over the music he waved to Layne and bolted for the stairs, tip in hand.

As they were released by the firemen Layne walked behind the other boy, putting on his best charming face for the party. Though the kid was going soft, this was met with him pushing the pizza box into the others back gently and grouching, "c'mon kid suck it up its gud no one will know." And if they did he would wear to god the kid did it before the elevator after all these were his friends. They would believe him over some pizza boy and thats all that mattered to him. Either way Layne wasn't catching heat so if the kid didn't shape up he would be in a boat all on his own for something they did together.

When the knock came he slid into motion, "mother ******** whas gud, me an this dude got stuck in tha elevator can you believe tha s**t? Luckily he was cool and et didn't turn into a murder scene in tha s**t." A grin and he moved past the friend holding the door, "M'goin go put this s**t down, pay tha kid huh?" Then he was off with a wink to Markus and moving to put the pizzas down to hungry guest. People dove in and no one seemed to notice the half eaten pizza. Probably more before the host just got another armful from the guy at the door so it didn't matter. Plus they were all good and buzzed just as he had previously thought them to be.

Hearing the call over the killer loud music was a bit hard but he caught his name and turned back to the door. Seeing the waving kid with a grin on his face, well look at that, the little s**t stayed cool. A hand lifted and promptly fingered the kid goodheartedly before he turned it into a wave goodbye. Cute kid, maybe they would run into one another again one day but before that Layne had some beers to down. "Go on brat! " He called before walking over to an icy cooler and pushing a hand in deep, searching the bottom since they were almost all gone. Sure he had missed half the party but there was beer to be found and that made it ok. Not to mention being stuck with Markus hadn't been the worst thing in his life so.

The beer was popped and he took a long drink.

This was going to be a good night.
