Welcome

Welcome to Magesc's annual Winter Solstice event! Every year, the Celestial Dragon shows its love for all the creatures of Magesc by sending its power through the earth, producing special egg-like plants for all to pick, care for, and love. Then, on December 25, these eggs hatch to produce the Fae -- a fairy-like dragon race created by the almighty Celestial Dragon.

How To

You set up a quest in this forum, get it approved and then you can apply for an artist's slot. At the end of the time period, customs close and the artists choose which quests they will draw. Within a week we will announce which quests have been chosen by which artists! Expect the character to be done in a month's time, but please be patient if it takes longer!

Rules and Information

o1. Hybrids || This is a HYBRIDS month! So Hybrid quests are allowed!
o2. Forms || All forms are to be posted in this thread so that all Staffers can see your request!
o3. Eligibility || Only staff approved Quests will be allowed to apply for a slot. To be eligible for a slot, you must first have a quest that has been critiqued and approved! Post the Critique/Approval form below to get a Staffers Attention! To those who have Characters already: You must have all your characters at Adept or above and be active and rp-ing with them to be eligible for another character!
o4. Applying || To apply for a slot, please fill out the Application Form below. Make sure to request a specific artist that you want; unless you don't have a preference, then put Any Artists in the Request Artist slot. You can put multiple artists! But only one will draw your character.
o5. Payment || If you've managed to snag a slot, payment must be in pure gold and you must say if you are on the Payment Plan or paying everything up front! You may pay more than the price listed; this is called a bribe and you can use items for your bribe to try and catch the artist's eye! Send trade to Magesc once you have been selected.
o6. Multiple Quests || You may only get one Custom Quest done! If you have two quests (can't both be Magescians) you wish to try for, feel free to apply for both. But only one will get chosen and become a real character. If you have a bonded quest then that counts only as one slot cause it's a single quest. You still must pay for both. The bonded may not be drawn if there isn't enough slots and it doesn't get chosen.

Note: Please state in the Application Form if this is a Full or Semi custom. If you are going for a Drakein, please state if it is an Egg and up or Adult Drakein only, and if there are full body line edits, or small line edits only. Payments will be sent to the Mule. From there we will deliver the Artists amount of the payment.
Disclaimer: All Artists retain the right to say no to any quest that they do not wish to draw. So even if you are the only one to apply for an artist, it is not a guaranteed slot! The more effort you put into your quest to make it detailed and interesting, the more likely you are to be picked. They will be the ones picking from the quests that request them, Staff have no word on the matter of who gets picked!

Breeding Requirements

Here is the post where all the information can be found on breeding requirements.

Please provide links to the 5 rp's that are proof that your character(s) have fallen in love and are prepared to breed.

The cost is 2 million per child, and you may purchase twins is you wish. This will pay for all art stages.
Drakein breeding costs 400,000 for a nest of 2 to 5 eggs. [[ Selected by Gaia's Random Number Generator ]]

Drakeins do not get to choose traits other than gender, instead they get eggs based off of the parents and there is a chance that mutations (line edits) are passed down.

"As the Winter Solstice approaches, Kalyth has risen from the underwater cave where he has been slumbering recently. A strange urge has overtaken the Celestial Dragon. He wishes to create, to bring new life to the world just as the gods brought him to life and as their many other creations procreate and birth new beings into Magesc.

Surging up out of the waters and high into the sky Kalyth summons the wealth of magical power that he alone holds. He seeds the clouds with his power and lets the winds carry them across magesc. When it rains the magically infused water will soak into the ground and where the water concentrates enough a small plant will grow. The tiny plants will swiftly blossom to reveal a strangely coloured pearl, that when touched seems to pulse like a beating heart. Life never before seen on Magesc grows within these plants and soon a new species will walk upon it's lands."

These plants and pearls have been recognized as the Fae. They have the intelligence roughly similar to crows or ravens, smart and capable of problem solving but not at the Drakein level, incapable of speech, but certainly trainable, able to recognize people and show feelings, perform tasks etc.

Above are the Winter Solstice grams. Between now and December 23, 2013, everyone will have the opportunity to buy the eggs above and send them to someone special. On December 25, 2013, the new certs of the Fae will be added to the initial pick up post for everyone to have! These creatures do not have to have a character to RP with but they can be attached to characters for RP purposes only.

The Fae are sweet, beautiful dragon-like creatures that are about this size in comparison to a Magescian. TY WOW FOR BEAUTIFUL CG WORK EXAMPLES, HEHE.

Price: 10k Per REGULAR Gram / 8k Per RANDOM Gram
Random grams are the rainbow-like coloration above. The type of Fae will be chosen by the certer of the gram. Regular grams are chosen by the person ordering the gram. You may order grams for yourself.

To Order the Fae Grams:
Step One: All you must do is post the form in this thread OR PM the form to Magesc if you want it to be an anonymous gift.
Step Two: Send the total trade amount of the order to Magesc ((THIS ACCOUNT)).
Step Three: Complete the trade and the order will be processed.
Step Four: The certed gram will be placed in the Gram Pick Up Thread with a "quote" to the receiver of the gram.
Step Five: Wait for December 25 and the egg will hatch, revealing the beautiful Fae Dragon within!
