The Goddess's smile grows a little larger as the sees you approach. "Oh! Um, hello. Make yourself at Home." She fidgets a bit, as if trying to find a spot to place her tray she is holding before offering you one of the contents. "Cookie?" Regardless of if you take one or not, she beams at you. "I'm glad you could make it! Those others they weren't meanies to you right? I love you most. You love me too right?" There is an unsteady vibe to the end of her sentence. "Oh, I know! I have a great idea. How about experiencing what love feels like? Love, joy, happiness, despair, hatred, they are all important emotions! We can make the most beautiful tea party together."

She beckons you forward as a gate folds open behind her, an arc of round grey hedges, shapes like foliage. A long rectangular table is at the end, empty. "Go on," she urges, "Oh, I'm so curious to see what beautiful emotions you will make!"

OOC: THE DISCOVERY

THE Discovery

- When your character is ready, they will be participating in the Day 3 Goddess Task
- The Day 3 Goddess Task is a continuation of the series of events that unfold with your character's memories. If your character has NOT completed Day 1 or 2, that is fine, they may just start Day 3, as if it a new thing from scratch.
- Your character needs to complete all three steps listed in the OOC for the Day 3 (Discovery) tasks for each part before completing it successfully. Once you are done, return here and read the last post Tea Party Passport Log. Do NOT read the post below until you have completed the Day 3 task link:

OOC: TEA PASSPORT RESULTS
Do NOT read the post until you have finished your TASK 3 JOURNEY and filled out all the results of your Tea Passport. This is the LAST thing you need to do to complete Task 3

As you return, your Heart you have obtained in the bag, you notice there is no Goddess, simply a statue. It is accompanied by the other familiar two.

OOC: TEA PASSPORT RESULTS

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. [ Tea Passport ] In THIS thread, after you have finished your Task 3 tea pot creation and filled out your tea log by taste testing other teas, you may come back and offer your results to the pedastal.
gaia_crown [ Offered memories ] All your offered memories, the ones you've experienced for the Tea Passport and the one you created yourself (your tea pot) will be taken once again from your character when you are done, leaving them only with a small sense of happiness.

- When you are done with that, go back to the Shrine and you can finally claim credit for this task and post it to your Heart Log. Remember, you cannot claim this task until all your Journey posts are filled out.

- If you have posted and offered your memories, you may still leave your Journey thread up for others to visit and "memory" sample. Even if you have forgotten it doesn't mean that memory has been taken away...

Naian returned, bowing low to the Goddess. She felt full of memories, some warm, some bitter, the last so harsh she wanted it gone... and it was that, perhaps, that made her not regret the offering at all. The fact that Longing was her Goddess didn't hurt, either.

"Take them, my Goddess," she murmured, laying both her tea pot and the tea log on the pedestal. She smiled as she felt the bitterness flowing away from her... and then was left with only a sense of soft happiness, perhaps the approval of her Goddess. What had she lost? She had no idea. But she felt much better than she had when serving Ruin or Paranoia.

Returning to the Goddess, Axel was again greeted by a statue and an empty pedestal. Whispering a thanks to Longing for not making this blessing hard to obtain, or threatening in some way, he placed the teapot and the log down on the pedestal.

He was happy, if only slightly. His lips parted into a smile as he left, hands in his pockets and a spring in his step. He didn't know why, but it felt good to exist. Perhaps this was just a precursor to the way he'd feel upon achieving Deity.

Her mind was full of a swirl of memories, the flavours of the tea still lingering on her tongue. Together, they made a strange flavour--some had been sweet, while others had filled her with a sense of bitterness and loss. And then there was her own memory, one that she clung to tightly as it radiated a warmth and joy that felt almost foreign to her.

However, it was time to give them all up, both good and bad. She faltered, and the hesitation was clear on her face as she tentatively stepped up to the podium, her tea log in one hand and the teapot cradled in the other. Ixyguin stared at the podium grimly for a moment before silently setting both objects onto it, allowing them both to be taken away.

But the warmth had not all been taken away from her. Feeling lighter than she had before this task, the girl thanked the Goddess with a polite bow before making her way out.

He held the little book in his unsteady fingers, and skimmed the pages again.

So he was to give this up, as well?

Memories jostled for space in his head, and he felt, for an instant, the desire that maybe the Goddess felt when she took things from him: the hunger, the need to consume. It was an old feeling that felt like home, but he fought it.

This is what he hated them for. This is what he resented them for. This is what he wanted to stop.

They weren't his memories. Or well, one was. And despite the content of that memory, it felt wrong to relinquish it. It was a part of him; it was important. But he saw no way to disentangle it from the others. That blend was part of a larger story now. A story that for the most part he had no claim to.

This was a violation and an intrusion. It did not matter that the things he had taken were important and valuable and felt like treasures. They weren't his.

"I am better than this," he whispered. "I am better than you."

He didn't want her to have them. But he could not keep them. This was an issue of principle. They weren't his to have.

He would sacrifice some small part of himself for that principle. He couldn't carry someone else's memories. He couldn't violate the sanctity of that space in a person's heart by wrapping his skinny fingers around it and removing whatever he wanted.

"If I were one of you," he whispered, "I would be better than you."

And maybe he would have been. But putting the book down hurt. He wanted to take, not give.

Integrity won out. This time. But maybe next time it would end up defeated, fed to the relentless, ever-increasing hunger.

His head hurts. It feels like there's so much going on in not just the notion of carrying memories, but ones not belonging to himself. There were emotions everywhere, ranging from anger to happiness and it is just throwing Decyl all over the place on how to feel.

In his grasp, he held on to a little log, filled with recordings of the tea he has savored and his opinion on them. While he must admit that some of these memories made him feel very happy, others (such as his own) did not. Having to give them up was as confusing an emotion as having so many stick to him in the first place. Decyl blinked, took a deep breath, and handed the log over to the podium.

Having given all those memories up, Decyl felt his mind clear and a small sense of happiness. Though...had he not felt something stronger before? Possibly, but right now, he needs to be else where.

Vaneda walked up to the podium, clutching her book tightly against her chest. The memories were hers, and she wanted to keep them. She wanted to keep them forever even if they weren't all of them.

But it was a goddesses demand, and she was a weak one. She would do whatever the goddess wanted.

Her book was set gingerly down on the podium, a lingering grasp until she stepped back.

Then they were gone and she was staring blankly at the Goddess before stepping back. Somewhere deep inside her...she wanted to remember things. But she couldn't. It was hurting her more than it wasn't.

Shuffling in with teapot in hand and book of different teas under her arm, Owl approached the now familiar sight of the empty pedestal. She stopped in front of it, just staring at it but not really seeing it. Hesitation warred with her feelings in knowing she must give these over to the Goddesses. But... the memories... she didn't want to lose them all. Even if they weren't all pleasant, they had done something to her.

But... she had to do it. Had to give them over. For the Goddesses. And their Blessings.

With a heavy sigh, Owl shakily placed the teapot and logbook on top of the pedestal. Stepping back and folding her arms across her middle, Owl closed her eyes as they began to fade. Try as she might to hold on to a piece of them, it was no use.

Blankly, she bowed her head and walked out.

Igny approached the shrine shyly, unsure if her tea party had been successful. It had been very nice chatting with the blue goddess, and she wished she could do it for longer. The blue goddess' presence calmed her and made her feel more secure- this turn-in did not.

She clutched her tea log tight to her chest, worried that it wouldn't be enough. Had she not tried enough teas? Worse yet, had she tried too many? Perhaps the bitterness of one teas had soiled the honey sweet memories or another.

Worried and insecure, Igny placed the book on the pedestal. She bowed slightly and whispered, "I'm sorry if this isn't okay. I tried really hard- please accept my offering!"

No response. Was that a good sign? A bad one? Igny slunk away, tail between her legs in insecurity. Hopefully she had been enough ...

Ralifa carried her log and teapot back to the shrine. She had had an interesting time of the memories and was perhaps a bit sad that they would be leaving her. Having learned so much and touched so many emotions, she was almost dizzy from it all.

With a tight grip, she shuffled up to the pedestal and placed the book there gently. Laying a hand flat upon it before she moved away. The memories fading slowly until they were gone.

She stared at the book blankly for a time before walking out.

He returned to the room with his teapot and log, along with a heavy heart. As per usual, the Goddess was now immobile, silent, and unable to answer any questions.

It was strange, wasn't it? Breuse thought. All he had remembered were happy memories of a past they all could not remember, and yet his heart hurt. He couldn't help feeling sad because he had forgotten. They all had forgotten.

Forgetting someone so dear to them was a terrible thing.

Without even reading the plaque, he placed the two objects onto the pedestal, and his pain was immediately replaced by a twinge of happiness.

Breuse smiled.

So many conflicting emotions within Kin made him shiver as he walked up to the podium in a cold sweat. After reading the podium he tossed the journal with the memories onto it without a second thought, happy to be rid of them. The peaceful bliss of ignorance engulfed him once more and he trotted off knowing he had pleased his goddess.

Upon her return, Ruse was used to seeing the statue of the goddess, and reading the plague, nodded to herself and placed her Log on-top of the podium.

She felt the memories fade away, but her happiness lingered.

Holding his Log book carefully, Sonja walked towards the statue of the goddess, reading the plague and knowing what he had to do.

Upon leaving the log book on the podium, he blinked as his memories had been taken from him.

At least he still felt happy.
