Five years ago today (unless I'm somehow mistaken), I joined GDAPW. Life has never been the same since. Granted, not all of it was because of this guild, but...when you think about it, five years is a long time. A lot of life changes can happen in five years, and a lot of them have. In celebration, starting today, I'm going to be posting a link to one thread a day. Something memorable or interesting to me from five years ago (assuming there was anything that posted that day ninja ). For how long? I dunno, as long as I feel like it. One thing is certain though, I'll be running an additional contest similar to my Giveaway thread based on the activity in this thread alone. What is the prize? I may have more than one, but I think the first one at least is pretty obvious. Let the festivities begin. Oh, one major rule here though... PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THE OLD THREADS FROM FIVE YEARS AGO. We like them where they are, the way they are. Not to be a jerk, but as an executive decision for not following (or paying attention) to this one rule, ANYONE WHO DOES WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE BAN FROM THE GUILD. Yeah. I'm that serious about it. That and I'll halt any further posting/prizes from this thread for EVERYONE. So just don't do it, kids. It shall remain a mystery lost in time. Interesting thing to note: everyone who responded to that thread back then became a good friend of mine. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship heart

Thank you heart Is the best thing that's happened to me on Gaia, and one of the best things to happen to me in general.
Also, this thread will hopefully be a way for me to get back into the archive combing...that I so lazily started slacking on xd

seeing how happy you are about being apart of this guild for 5 years makes me know i picked the right guild to join.
i've only been here about a month and i think this is my favorite guild i've ever been apart of. i think i like love it because people actually talk to you hear and treat you like a person. i hope i can be part of this guild for many years to come.

INORITE! There's definitely something about this place...something that most of Gaia just doesn't seem to have. I think the family concept really does describe it well.

I look forward to you travels back in time, as well as being able to use them as personal reminicing.
I also agree on ANY BODY POSTING IN THREADS FROM BEFORE THIS YEAR BEING SUBJECT TO BANNING.
If people dont understand why, this thread shows why, it allows us to find and reminice in our past, in what was happening in those respective parts of our life.

@Sleepy, Totally, this guild is...and I know we say it alot family. Whist there is only a small number of people here who have stuck it out like gold (and most the other vices and crew, and other mains), they have all been through the tough, easy, funny and etc of Family life.
I love this guild, and I am still glad that I didnt do what I had intended, when I first brought this guild.

I hope that you stay here to keep me in check for much much longer smile lol although I have only been apart of the guild for a short amount of time I have grown very fond of it and everyone in it. So congratulations again and I hope your giveaway goes smoothly smile

Lol wow thats funny i used 2 watch all those shows :p Anyway congrats on the 5 year mark biggrin being apart of something that u love for that long is certainly worth celebrating. ive only been here for a few months but obviously this was a great guild to join and it has awesome ppl 2 talk 2 and befriend 3nodding Its not a lot of people who r cold towards u and dont talk when ur really looking for a friend. I already love this guild and the ppl in it and im looking forward 2 being here for quite some time ^_^

The thing I've noticed is that (and I'm actually pretty sure Sage said this a while ago) the people who mesh with us generally end up sticking around, and the people who are less so eventually just stop caring and leave. So I think the reason that the guild has awesome people in it now is because we've distilled all the crap out. Though as recruiting continues, there will obviously be new ones that pop up from time to time. But they'll get phased out soon enough like the others. It kinda terrifies me how cracked out the Olsen twins have become. They used to be so...wholesome and corny. Not that it was much better, but at least they weren't creepy. By the by, the threads I choose may not all be from the exact day five years ago, but I'ma do what I can to try to make them as close as possible. 16 November 2005 - 27? moreBlue and I have a meaningful conversation about, uh...filling up the main page with posts. Several of the more enthusiastic members have done this, more or less when they first join. Honestly, I don't see any problem with it as long as, again, it's contributing and not spamming the forum. Note what I say at the end about not being in any other guilds. That stayed that way for a long time, simply because I didn't NEED any others...this one was all I needed!
