.:Rider Profile:. Character Name: Azuran (A'ran) Age: 17 18 19 Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Previous Craft/Rank: Weyrbrat/Candidate History: Born and raised in the Weyr, Azuran has known no other life but this. Not that he minds or anything. He never really knew his parents (only having heard that his father was one of the riders supposedly) and he’s always maintained a rather loose connection with his foster mother, but all in all he’s quite happy with life. As a child he wandered about the Weyr quite freely and often found ways to keep himself entertained with simple games and such. As he grew older and had to help out more, however, the youth began having to find slightly 'different' ways of seeking amusement. Occasionally he'd work together on schemes with some of the others his around his age, but Azuran quickly discovered that with more people involved in plans, it was much easier to trace the pranks back to their origin. Therefore he went back to keeping his pranks a mostly private matter, only letting along a few trustworthy friends when the time called for it. As he came of age, Azuran was both thrilled and beyond surprised to be selected as a Candidate. He's poured all of his efforts into his studies (one of the few things he puts much effort into actually), and even though he has yet to be impressed by a dragon he still remains hopeful. Update- At 17 turns of age Azuran has Impressed to Green Kaikuth, born of Gold Ianath and Bronze Galvanth. heart Description: Azuran has medium length black hair with longer bangs that partially cover his right eye. His eyes are a vibrant blue color, and his skin is only slightly tanned. His body is of a lean build, and his total height is approximately 5’8”. Personality: Growing up around the Weyr, Azuran was often pegged as a bit of a troublemaker. Whenever a bucket of sand mysteriously appeared above a doorway or important tools weren’t in their usual places, it could usually be traced back to the ebony-haired youth. At least, if one were to investigate far enough into the matter. For you see, Azuran was normally never around to actually see the results of his schemes, instead just as pleased to hear about them second-hand later on. (Hey, he had to have some way to entertain himself in his spare time.) He was very careful in not leaving any tracks or clues, but not always successful. Granted, none of his pranks were ever particularly harmful, but they were certainly annoying enough to those involved. Fortunately, with age, these pranks have died down a lot in frequency. Azuran is outwardly friendly to basically anyone he meets. Even if he is not particularly fond of a person, he will still try his best to at least be polite and civil. Because of this he generally gets along with others fairly well. When not busy working around the Weyr or spending time with a few close friends, Azuran can be quite withdrawn. So much so, in fact, that it is often difficult to find him when needed if the person searching doesn't know where to look. While he may always be polite around others, the youth is actually not very fond of being around too many people. This often makes him quite difficult to get a hold of, and even his foster-mother gets fed up with his disappearances from time to time. This seems almost to be a paradox given his occasional trouble making ways, but really those incidents are more just for private amusement than for attracting any sort of attention. This is also why most of his schemes are rather small-scale and non-impressive. Due to his private nature, Azuran is quite loyal to those he considers friends, and he would never do anything to betray them. He also prides himself in being a man of his word, and would never intentionally go back on a promise. One unfortunate flaw that the youth struggles with however is that he has a bit of a lazy streak in him. If he finds a task to be uninteresting, he'll try to avoid it if at all possible. He doesn't volunteer to do very many menial tasks around the Weyr, and will usually only assist if asked directly. This lazy streak in part has led him to be a classic procrastinator. If something can be put off until a later time, it usually won't be completed until last minute. This has nearly gotten him into much trouble in the past, and it is a vice which he continues to struggle with. After all is said and done, when it is time to be serious Azuran is right there with the best of them. The Weyr and those within are important to him, and he would do anything to protect them. He dreams of someday becoming a dragon rider so that he may be able to do more to help protect and serve the Weyr. *Art by Syrie

.:The Dragon:. Your Kaikuth is hungry Azuranmine! Yours didn't mean that! It is my fault? Name: Kaikuth Color: Green Size: Average Build: Average Ecosystem: Tropical Rainforest Personality: Rather normal appearance, though she has a very big mouth and always will, making it look like she's always got a smile on. Her hands and feet are particularly dexterous. Kaikuth is a playful dragon that loves nothing more than getting up to mischief. She laughs a lot, jokes a lot, and is generally a bombastic force of energy when others are around. This green revels in playing harmless pranks on her fellows and getting others to laugh with her. She never believes she is doing anyone much harm in her trickery, be it from playful stealing, lying, and name-calling, to purposefully being obnoxious when she knows she can't get in trouble for it. Kaikuth is a clever one, and would revel in more elaborate schemes if she didn't forget what she was doing halfway through them. What might surprise most is that Kaikuth does, in fact, have a very deep side. When she discovers she has hurt or offended someone with her play, she will do anything to make it up to them. The little joker does a 360 the moment she finds out that she's done wrong, and not only is Kaikuth sincere in her apologies, but she can be very gentle and loving, desiring nothing more than to make things right. This little green is fully capable of being quiet, kind, and honest-- and because of her own misgivings, Kaikuth has a streak of forgiveness in her a mile wide for the misdoings of others. Maybe they really didn't mean the harm they caused either, just like her! Why Me!?The Weyr better watch out: Azuran and Kaikuth make the perfect crafty pair. Luckily, both of their schemes never amount to any major harm, and wherever Azuran finds amusement with his pranks, Kaikuth will be right there beside him to have a hand in it. She'll be counting on her rider to help discern if her joking has ever gone too far, just like she'll be able to tell Azuran when his tricks are doing harm. This green loves to be around others and enjoys making them laugh, something that may help Azuran meet people who might enjoy a good trick or two. She's a limitless source of energy-- her rider better be prepared to be on his feet all the time-- and there's no one better to help Kaikuth understand the meaning of the word "loyalty." Yet, Kaikuth's softer side might help her solitary rider open up. The green will be inconsolable if she's discovered she's hurt someone, and it will be up to her rider to soothe her, and help curb her intense desire to "fix it." And at the end of the day, both rider and dragon will be delighted to discover that in each other is something deeper and kinder than what they present on the surface. Kaikuth is Inspired by.... Tropical Rainforest!

.:The Wing:. Dragonflight Pern Malvren Weyr active PC wingWingleader: D'som and silver Sikath Wingsecond: R'hix and bronze Shoth D’som is kind, charismatic and eternally optimistic; he excels at keeping spirits high no matter how tough things get. He tries to get to know each member of his wing on a personal level, as he believes knowing them all will help him to motivate them to do their very best. He doesn’t let anyone slack off in drills of course, but he is more sensitive to his followers than many wingleaders and if somebody is looking a bit off colour he’ll excuse them or send them to carry out light duties. He’s also quite an idealist, and tends to assume that everybody wants to work just as hard as he does simply because working hard is the right thing to do. Disappointing him is rather like kicking a puppy, a puppy that has the power to tell you to go and do some unpleasant punishment duty whilst giving you the huge sad eyes look at that. Notably, while he tries to be impartial, he feels a certain kinship with other atypical rirders (especially other silver riders) and this can show through as a tiny bit of favouratism at times. R'hix – who Impressed in the same clutch as D’som – is more down to earth, and compared to his wingleader he's downright dour. D’som’s perky attitude tends to make him groan internally, and he has been forced to tell the silver rider on more than one occasion that he does not sing/dance/whatever else the the man is trying to coerce him into doing. For all his frustration with D'som, however, they are like brothers and in the end he’d do anything for him. If he suspects anyone is trying to play on the silver rider’s sympathies to get something out of him, or if anyone upsets him in general, R’hix’s retribution is sure to be swift and brutal. D'som stands 6'1" and is powerfully built; he has quite a handsome chissled face. R'hix stands 5'9", and while he is not as muscular as his wingleader he is still toned and fit; he is not notably handsome or ugly, but does have quite lovely dark grey eyes. D'som is thirty four and R'hix thirty five, they actually share a birthing day. D'som is known to be interested in both men and women, and to be seeking a long-term weyrmate. R'hix, of course, is as straight as an arrow and currently involved with a fishercrafer - his childhood sweetheart - at the coastal Hold where he grew up but there are some rumours of trouble in paradise. .:The Touching:.Dragonflight Pern Tropical Egg There is a cleverness about this medium-sized egg that can't be overlooked when first touched and there also seems to be a sensation of eagerness mixed in. Whatever dragonet that is inside the shell appears to enjoy giving off different emotions whenever touched, as though it were nothing more than a game to the hands that feel over it. The size of this egg indicates a blue. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- endejester The Tropical egg was the nest to last one he touched, it seemed so playful he was actually a little nervous of it. But playful wasn't bad now was it, Like climbing trees and the like. Meepfur The girl felt a little guilty leaving the small egg behind, but hopefully it wouldn't take it the wrong way. They just weren't allowed to linger, that was all! She gave it one more glance before moving on to the Tropical Egg. Clever, eager, and yet...not taking this Touching business very seriously. Playing a game? But what game, I wonder?JetAlmeara The last egg felt like a smart little creature though at first Mercy was confused by the quickly changing emotions as she moved her hands over the shell - of course after a while she caught onto the fact that the dragonet might just be having her on a bit - what a playful little creature you are she though towards the egg before giving the clutch ad final look and leaving the sands wit another final nod of respect towards the gold. Lilwolfpard Tila approached the Tropical Egg last. Though... she had to admit this one intrigued her. Either it had a sense of humor, or enjoyed playing mind tricks each time she touched it. She was intrigued, but chose not to linger just in case.... though she had to bite back the urge to approach it once again. The Anesthesia Wiping her eyes as she stepped next to the Tropical egg Ashmere rubbed her palms on her robes before she touched the shell of the egg. At first she didn't know what to gather from the dragonet within the egg, it was certainly a playful sort. Stroking the egg once more Ashmere smiled before she moved on to the last of the eggs, a small one near the junior queen, giving the mother of the clutch yet another deep bow of respect. elfgurl1234 Ah, the Tropical Egg was quite a pleasant change from the last one-- certainly a lot more cheerful in nature. The dragonet inside seemed clever and eager. I'll bet you'd appreciate the occasional practical joke or two, he thought with a slight smirk, running his hand lightly across the shell. You certainly seem as if you'd have the mind for it. Have lots of fun with Yours. He looked forward to seeing how this dragon turned out as well. Veneficus Solanum Next, her feet brought her to the Tropical Egg, the feeling from this egg giving the Harper a smile as she felt the clever beast that lay within. Clever, clever beauty, I feel your eagerness and meet it with my own! she thought and smiled, resisting the light giggle that bubbled up within her chest. This dragonet would be a handful to the one it Impressed, though she knew the work would be fun, and not work at all. Syrie Each one got one, gentle press of her fingers, a brief touching of her palm against the hard curve of the brilliant shells; then she moved on. Even the interesting egg hiding behind it's mates, so cutely playing peek-a-boo got one touch. The only one that she wanted to touch a second time was the one nearest Ianath - it seemed to beg for more attention. "Sorry darling, one touch. I promised just one..." The Tropical egg would be her last stop before getting off the heated sands and skittering off to find L'tan or T'ron so she could babble excitedly...and maybe ask them if they'd help her bring some of the fatty fish to Ianath later. After her chores. Holy Blasphemy The Tropical egg was… interesting. It was almost as if the dragonet couldn’t make up its mind one way or the other. She supposed it was better then nothing, or giving a feeling of laziness. Regardless, the multiple touches Faehari had given the egg had left her confused and unable to guess the dragonet’s color, thus making her slightly frustrated. Team Edward Cullenation The Tropical Egg proved to be a fine ending to his first touching, it stimulated him after a while with the feeling of an astounding intelligence and a variation in the feeling every time he touched it. It intrigued him greatly and he felt like he couldn't wait to meet the new dragon with the clever mind. magnadearel Wykla laid her hand upon the Tropical Egg and tilted her head. The intelligence of the egg suggested the dragon inside might be cooking up mischief. It also appeared to have the willingness to try such antics. She hoped the rider would be able to keep a firm hand on it. JetAlmeara The last egg on her circuit was the Tropical Egg and Anya got the sense it inside was a cleaver little fellow who enjoyed playing games - like it's energetic clutch mate Anya had a feeling this one would prove to be quit a handful for whomever he or she impressed, in any case she patted the lat egg gently before leaving the sands behind the other candidates. Revel1984 Last was the Tropical Egg and he laughed silently, "well, you're ... fun loving aren't you" he smiled, his hand lingering a little. Jeanemon Ah, finally. The last one. The Tropical egg seemed to be a bit... interesting. Bright and fun on the outside, mixed up on the inside. Every touch seemed to change to something different, but it didn't feel malevolent behind all of that. Huh. Interesting! This one would actually be one she'd keep an eye on during the hatching, to see what it would spawn.

.:The Hatching:. Dragonflight Pern The green tossed her head and warbled, her gaze sweeping the Stands a moment. As her gaze passed each of the greens in attendance, her head dipped in a strangely courteous manner, and when she stepped from the goo, it was less awkward then most hatchlings tended to be. Craning her neck, she churred to her mother and then turned her attentions properly to the candidates. She started towards the girls first, head held high and proud, not arrogant but rather regal. Warbling again, she paused at the edge of the girl's throng, hesitating as the Rainforest egg burst with a loud crack and the green shook herself clean, throwing egg goop over the other eggs. She bugled to her sister and rose up on her hind legs only to fall over with a draconic giggle. The Deciduous green whuffed back and turned away from girls. No... Hers was not there, like her sister had seemed to know. Dragonflight Pern Rainforest churred and warbled as she righted herself, and proceeded to nose the rest of the eggs, turning a few on their sides and getting many a wiggling response in answer. Burbling with laughter, she looked up and very obviously grinned at the Candidates, course her impressive mouth was large as it was and the grin looked positively cheshire on this one. No harm, no foul, right? The Deciduous green looked back when her sister warbled and huffed in amusement, nosing the boys out of her way so she could look back at the clustering of eggs. A warning rumble from the golds sent the mischievous green tumbling and she righted herself with another laugh before heading off towards the boys as well. Among the disturbed eggs, the desert egg was next to rumble and crack, its shell cracking into broad pieces and falling away to reveal a pale brown. His eyes, however, were whirling yellow as he lifted his head and played a gaze full of exacting appraisal over the gathered assembly. He snorted once, rolled his shoulders, and back away from the Candidates. Dragonflight Pern Motion in the crowd of boys caught the Deciduous Green's attention and she turned around after a soulful croon to her brother and headed deeper into the boys, less gentle then she'd been before. The determined strength of her step was enough of a hint that she'd found hers at last. Thus, when she sat down before her chosen rider, she crooned to him and when his eyes mets hers the Impression was made. Jarestmine, your Ilyrianth is hungry. We have much to do!(Ilyrianth)She warbled again then, tipped her nose and slid her head under his hand, eyes whirling blue and green, tinged with the red of hunger. Behind her, the other green had stopped to regard the brown and her posture stiffened as the brown continued to back away. He tossed his head, flared his wings, keened. They were not good signs, and when he suddenly started burrowing into the sand as if it were a way out, he unearthed an egg nearly identical to his own that had gone unseen in the days and weeks since the eggs had been laid. With a cry of displeasure and an answering keen from the assembled dragons, the little brown vanished Between. Eirlyn blinked and sighed, pursing her lips. The largest egg in the clutch at it had gone between... but more then that, there had been an eleventh egg, a seeming twin? Feynath shook her head and murmured her own surprise, something that was sure to be echoed among the rest of the attending people. Eggs didn't often go unaccounted for, but then again, if it's buried as deeply as it was, it wasn't too surprising. Dragonflight Pern The sudden clearing of the Sands seemed to stir the green up and she plunged headlong into the Candidates, seeking hers with an obvious, desperate need. Eggs, too, were moving and cracking, and the Ocean Coasts eggs almost seemed to unfurl with the way the little dragon broke through. Vibrantly blue and beautifully patterned, the young male lifted his head and murmured a warble as if you say all was not lost. Perhaps he was the kind to pull through when needed? Hopefully... but his ponderous steps towards the candidates, the girls this time it seemed, numbered few before he flopped on the sands and cocked his head as if listening while another of the eggs behind cracked, though it was difficult to tell the dragonet's colour as of yet. elfgurl1234 Another Hatching had come, and once again all of the candidates were lined up out on the Sands as the dragonets began to hatch. Things started out fairly typical at first with the hatching of two greens, though it was always nice to see their individual personalities come out. That brown though... That had been terribly tragic. The moment Azuran had seen his yellow eyes his heart had plummeted for the youngling. Dragonets Betweening was always a horrible thing. But what of the twin egg it had unearthed? How had no one noticed it before? What implications did this have for its brother? (Well, presumably brother.) He was drawn back into the present as the blue hatched next and started for the girls. Hopefully the rest of the dragonets would find Theirs. Dragonflight Pern The Tropical Green ran headlong into Hers, nearly bowling him over as she lifted her head and peered into his eyes, Your Kaikuth is hungry Azuranmine! Yours didn't mean that! It is my fault? She pushed against him, still playful but also now very careful not to hurt Hers, lest he go Between too. In the meantime, the Ocean Coast blue remained where he was, scanning the girls with a sad expression. Was his not willing to come forward? Surely she saw him? Maybe... he sighed and laid his head down in the sand, still looking for her as he could feel her presence as surely as there was sand beneath his toes. Meanwhile, the Lacustrine egg finally broke properly and another blue emerged. He too played a quick gaze over the boys and then turned to the girls and... went to flop beside his bother and girl-gaze. Granted his expression was not nearly as melancholy as the Ocean Coast's but there was an unhurried air about him, as if he already know who he wanted. elfgurl1234 Speaking of dragonets finding Theirs... Azuran was taken quite a bit by surprise when the playful green from before ran straight into him, nearly knocking him over. Even more surprising was when he next heard her voice in his mind? What? Blue human eyes looked down into blue dragonic eyes, and the instant they met Azuran felt the connection. It was beyond anything he could have imagined. "Ah, no, not your fault at all." She could have knocked him over and half buried him and he wouldn't have minded. This... this had to be the happiest moment in all of his life. The dragonet gave Hers yet another playful push to help bring him back to reality. May we eat then, Mine? Your Kaikuth is still very hungry."Ah, of course, of course. Sorry." The teen lead his partner over to the feeding tables, smiling and nodding as he caught Zeren's congrats. He hoped the other Candidate would be fortunate enough to find his partner in this clutch as well.
