It was sunny, and there were no lessons today. K'tor was glad to have the day to himself, and Lalaith seemed just as pleased. She had been very adamant about doing things these past few days, and always harped on him to pay attention in his lessons and study hard. She insisted that if he studied hard he'd be the top of the class, and everyone important would notice.
But now she allowed him some time to relax, and he had oiled her early and bathed soon after. They were lounging on the beach. K'tor was wearing no shirt or shoes, and just a pair of loos-fitting, knee-length short pants. Lalaith was lying down and he using her as a pillow, and she was looking over her shoulder at him. They were clearly having a mental conversation, since they both reacted at times, if anyone had been watching...

Alright, the weather was just far too nice right now to not be outside. The rest of today's chores could wait just a bit longer-- it wasn't as if they'd be going anywhere after all. With that decided, Azuran snuck out of the Weyr and onto the beach. Drakell tagged along, eager for some more time out in the fresh air an sun. Ah, what a beautiful day, the black-haired teen thought to himself as he walked along the sandy shore. Oh? It seems we are not alone. Down the way he could see one of the Jr. Weyrlings and his dragon lounging and enjoying the day. He couldn't help but feel a small stab of jealously at the sight of the happy couple, but he did his best to shove that feeling down and away. Perhaps we'll just stay over here then.
His firelizard on the other hand seemed to have rather different plans. Perking up at the sight of his green cousin, the flit took off from Azuran's shoulder and flew over toward the two. "Drakell!" he hissed, but to no avail; the small brown was already almost to the pair. It was all he could do not to facepalm. I need to get that flit a leash, I swear. He had no choice now but to start walking over toward the two to retrieve his wayward flit.
Drakell meanwhile had reached his target point, and chirruped happily as he flew in a small circle above the two. It was always fun meeting others.

Lalaith looked up from K'tor and crooned. her eyes whirling blue-green even now that the flit had appeared. Looks like we have company.
K'tor looked around, his eyes lazily half-closed against the sun. He didn't really want to be interrupted, but they were in a public place. If they had truly wanted privacy, they would have stayed in their bunk. "Hey there," he called out as the boy approached them. "This guy yours?" Clearly it was, but at least it was a conversation starter.
Be friendly. I don't think he means any harm.
He probably didn't want to come over here in the first place, so I seriously doubt that he does... Flits and other things with wings are good at getting people into situations they don't want to be in.
I am certain I do not know what you mean. She was clearly not amused, and went back to interacting with the newly-arrived flit.

Drakell's eyes whirled as well at the return acknowledgement of the green, and he began chittering happily to her, showing her pleasant images of the pretty day among other random things that came to mind.
"Yeah, that he would be," Azuran replied, rubbing the back of his neck idly with one hand as he neared the pair. "Sorry about that. Hope he hasn't been a nuisance." Holding out his left arm as a perch, the youth clucked his tongue a few times against the roof of his mouth. The flit promptly returned to his owner on the offered arm, eyes still cheerfully whirling green as he needlessly sent Azuran images of the friendly pair that was right before them. The teen couldn't help but chuckle, patting down his firelizards wings with his other hand. "He gets very excitable sometimes."
