Personality: Olly has grown a lot since he first went to live with Kami. Opposed to the very quiet little boy he used to be, Olly is a little more outgoing these days, though can still be a bit nervous if surrounded by too many strangers. His growing confidence can be attributed to Kami's continued encouragement, as well as the arrival of his dragon companion, Trace. The two get along very well together, and Olly has since been inspired to 'get out' more often and meet new friends. Trace has hatched and arrived! Here's Oliver listening to him chatter on in dragon-speak. Trace is delighted to have an audience, even if they don't understand his language.
Olly as a child! He was quite astounded to be able to see his egg, and is getting a little better over shyness with strangers.
Here's Olly when he first came to live with Kami. Adorable, fuzzy, and very shy, not to mention quite sweet-hearted.

Personality: Kami is a usually happy, reasonable person. She can have a bit of a temper at times but usually she will keep up a polite front unless she is pushed too hard. She is very dedicated to the job she has taken on in raising Oliver, but sees it as more of a privilege than a task. She loves the little camel, and would do most anything to ensure his happiness, though she has been careful not to raise a spoiled child.

//.Friends and Acquaintances.// ~*Sahra*~ - She's a nice girl. Olly enjoyed playing checkers with her, she was a quiet person and enjoyable to be around, for the most part. Olly doesn't remember much of her since he hasn't seen her since they were very young.
~*Donat*~ - Olly is very fond of Donat, and probably considers him one of his best friends. They have met several times and Olly loves to run around and have someone to play tag and roughouse with.
~*Liang*~ - Had one playdate with her, she's nice and quiet. Oliver envies her wings, and pretty-colored feathers, but admires them as well, and holds no ill feelings toward her.
~*Terpsichore*~ - Scaaaary little cobra. Oliver met him as a little kid, and got startled pretty bad. Hasn't met him since, but definitely doesn't know what to think of him.
~*Canti*~ - An interesting, and funny fellow. Oliver finds it amazing that he'll go through extreme lengths to make things clean. Pretty friendly otherwise, though, and worth forging a friendship with. Hasn't met since first meeting.
~*Medusa*~ - Crazy see-through jellyfish kid! She was nice to Olly when they met at a department store, and he wouldn't mind meeting up with her again.

Mate: None yet
Likes: Warm summer days, playing outside with Olly, making noise/talking(even though no one can understand the details yet), the blanket Oliver gave him after he came to live with him, most shiny/colorful objects, and interestingly colored rocks.
Dislikes: Cold/wet days, having to be cooped inside too long, being away from Olly, having his tail or wings pulled/played with roughly.
Personality: Trace is an interesting little creature, to be sure. As is common for his breed, he likes to 'talk' and chatter almost non-stop, even though no one around him can really understand what he's saying exactly (yet), except other dragons. He can, however, convey obvious messages when need be, and has also learned to quiet down when asked politely. He adores Oliver and vice versa, and given the opportunity would probably do anything for his young companion. Trace completes Olly in a way, being more outgoing and talkative than the young camel. He has yet to meet any other dragons, though he would like to in order to be able to have someone to chat with.

//.Species Info.//The Arabian Camel  Name: Arabian Camel, or Dromedary Camel. One hump only! Scientific Name: Camelus dromedarius. Habitat: Native originally to west Asia areas, now thrives in the desert areas of Arabia and Northern Africa. Size: Full grown camels can grow to an average size of 6-7 feet in height, 10 feet in length, and generally weigh in at 1000-1500 lbs. Facts and Interesting notes: ~ Contrary to popular belief, the hump of the camel does not store water, but fatty tissues. These tissues can be used as a source of energy for up to a month, if required. + Camels 'store' water in their blood, and the blood cells are oval in shape, to help them flow better, should the camel become dehydrated. This feature allows them to go without water for about two weeks. ~ Camels are built to withstand extreme temperatures, and can easily survive the switch between the sweltering heat of the day to the near freezing temperatures of the night. + Camels coats reflect the sunlight, and in extremely hot temperatures they sweat to keep cool. Camels can stand to lose up to 25% of their weight to facilitate cooler body temperatures. ~ They have other features to help with desert survival, including wide, flat feet, for walking over sand, long eyelashes to protect the eyes from sand, and even closable nostrils, also a protection against invading sand. + There are very few wild camels left in the world today, as most have been domesticated. The Apartment
Kami decided to aquire one of the apartments in the complex near D-Corp in order to be closer to the schooling Oliver will need to learn about everything he needs to know, as a camel hybrid.
Like most of the apartments in the complex, it seems, it's large, and has two stories, complete with a kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms, bathrooms, and several closets. Most of it is rather plain for now, since she and Olly haven't been living there too long. She has done a significant amount of work on Olly's room, however, to make it more comfortable for him. It's decorated in blues and greens, his favourite at the moment, nice cool colors.
The House around the Woods
Kami has a first home(her base, or gaian home, as she likes to call it). It's situated in Gaia, somewhat near Barton Town and the many shops she plays customer to. This is where most of her more animal pets live, as it is a large place with plenty of space for the larger ones.
It's a very large, two-story home(almost a mansion), with a small front yard being the only normal areas of it. A dirt road leads away from it, gradually moving in towards Gaia Central. Surrounding the other three sides of the house are wide, grassy fields, the ends of which meet up with the forest. The forest is a huge place, where many of her large creatures roam, some even protecting the areas closest to the fields, making it safe for the little creatures.
The Portal Door
Everyone got a little tired of the long trips between her home and the apartment, so she called upon one of her 'pets' to help make an easier way to get from one house to the other. Sable, a magically-talented companion, used a bit of his knowledge on sorcery and set up a portal system in a closet that works on a knock system. So many knocks for a certain location, making travel between her home and apartment a cinch. And since you need to know what knock to do to get to whichever place, no strangers can travel through the portal, keeping pets and unwanted others out of her other house/apartment.

December 13th ~Olly's first day of class heart ~ Olly smiled as Kami tucked him in safely, giving a happy sound as she gave him his new stuffed camel. It had been a big day for the little boy, as his first day of school. He had been so scared at first, but it had ended up to be quite fun. The teacher had even let him be her helper! He'd passed out the papers...and they had even got to color, something he loved to do. Silently, he thought about the letters they had learned in class. When Kami had picked him up he had gotten his stuffed camel as a reward for being such a good student, and he felt much better about class, now. He had still been far too shy to talk to any of the others, but Kami had forgiven him for it. He found he had to remind himself that they were all the same inside, even though some of the children were sort of scary looking to him. He yawned, and turned over as the light went out, resolving that tomorrow would be a much better day to try and make friends. Unbeknownst to the youngster however, Kami was already hard at work. Having spoken to one of the other caretakers, she had arranged for a playdate for him with the little cheetah girl named Sahra, which she hoped would happen soon. She smiled to herself as she headed to her own room for sleep, quite hopeful over the venture she had made.

  Kami lounged on the couch as Oliver, ever eager to learn, it seemed, colored happily at the coffee table, crayons strewn everywhere. He was enjoying the latest couple installment of the alphabet, and he held up his paper as he finished the last letter. "How's this look!?" he asked, and giggled, a little bashful to show his work. His funny tail switched behind him as he waited approval. Kami chuckled softly. "That's very nice. What a wonderful little artist you are." she praised, and pulled the little camel up into her lap to pet him. They had only been together for a short while, but already she had become very attached. he was such an adorable little boy...and unlike many children she had gotten to know, he wasn't so...easily distracted, I guess you could say. He had plenty of time to have fun because he always finished his homework. Provided, it was only letters and numbers for now, but she hoped it would continue. "Now, do you remember your numbers, too? Can you tell me how to count to ten?" she asked, rubbing his fuzzy back. "Ummmmm...okay, wait." he giggled, and coughed, thinking hard. "One, two, three....four? Five...six! Seven, ummm...." he seemed to hesitate a bit, tufted tail flickering back and forth. "Eight, nin, and ten" he laughed as he was hugged, and hugged back. "Was that okay?" He was fairly sure he'd gotten them all, but he needed to be sure. "Yes, it was wonderful. We need to start practicing writing them too." she said, kissing his little forehead. She laughed softly at his baffled look. "I'll help...you'll get plenty of practice in school, too." she reassured, and patted him as he jumped back down. "Okay, momma!" he said, and moved to pick up his crayons, smiling happily.

Olly smiled as he stood back to admire his work. Finally having finished all the alphabet worksheets, he had taped them up on a bare part of his wall. He was quite proud, now he knew all his alphabet, and how to count to ten! Kami was proud as well...and she had even taught him how to spell his name! Olly was eager to spell more things, and he knew how to spell other things as well, simple words, since he was still young, but he was progressing nonetheless.
Kami had told him that he'd be getting his dragon egg soon. He'd heard Sahra had gotten hers, and a couple other of the children, too. Kami had shown him a lot of pictures of what dragons looked like, and he'd been a little uneasy about it at first. Buuut, his mother had reassured it would be very small when it hatched. He sat down with a smile to pick up his camel plush, smiling silently. His very own dragon! He simply couldn't wait...and kami had said there were all sorts...what type was he going to get?

March 19, 2006Journal Entry Hello journal <3 I've decided that since Oliver can't quite write yet(still learning his words!), I'll do entries until he can. I've opted for, instead of the traditional written journal, a typed one, and I've purchased a laptop for myself. I might let Olly use it when he's a bit older, but I think letting him do written entries, when he learns, will be a little better than typing. He's making me a proud mommy! He's still his quiet, shy self, though lately he's been showing a stubborn side. He's come to dislike water rather, and I can't see why. He simply dislikes baths, though it's a must, and he gets very sulky when I get the final say in it. I hope I'm doing this correctly. Perhaps he's just going through a bit of a phase. He still enjoys playing by himself a lot. I really should get him out to see more people, it still worries me from time to time. Of course, I play with him nearly anytime he asks, and I help with his schoolwork as well. He's doing very good, by the way...he knows his alphabet, and how to count. I've been teaching him new numbers in addition, and he's very eager at times. We just need to work on his social aspects, I think. I encourage him constantly, so I'm sure he'll improve.
