Oliver was coming back to class Orpheus thought to himself, thinking on the last time he had been by. He was there for a class that involved his ability to store water. Today the red head had decided they were going to work on what as connected to that skill, stamina. A note had been sent to Oliver telling him to meet Orpheus outside this time instead of in one of the classrooms. They were going to go for a run today around the D-Corp building.

Oliver hurried down the steps as he headed through the lobby of the large building to get to the outside. He was excited to continue his training under a teacher he was familiar with, and eager to find out something new about himself, though he had a feeling what being outside was going to entail.

Trace followed along after the boy, chirping and glad to be out and about as they made their way from their D-corp apartments down to the bottom floor of the building.

The weather had been turning very hot as the summer months set in, but it hardly bothered the boy, even with his fur. He smiled as he exited through the front doors and spotted Orpheus, heading over and waving. "Hello Mr. Soon! I hope I'm not late. I got your note." he said with a smile as he stepped up to the orange-haired man.

Orpheus turned as he heard the boy approaching with his dragon partner with him. He gave him a smile, "Its good to see you again Oliver." He said then gave a polite nod to the dragon, "If you would like to wait you can or you can run with us, your choice."

He turned back to Oliver once more, "Today we are going to work on something connected to the last skill we worked on, your DNA comes from an animal that walks through weather much hotter then today, long distances with no need to refreshments." He motioned to the building, "We are going to be running today, testing your stamina."

It would be good exercise for both of them and the dragon if he wanted to run.

The camel smiled happily, and gave a nod. "It's nice to see you again as well, Mr. Solon. And this is Trace, my dragon." he said, introducing his teacher to the dragon.

Trace chirred, and nodded, rearing onto his hind legs slightly, excited to meet someone new. He loved being able to come with Oliver to all his classes, and it was fun to practice his english on new people. "Hello!" he said shortly, and sat down at his companion's side.

Oliver listened as his teacher explained what they were going to do, and nodded in apprehension. "Sounds good. I'm sure Trace would love to come too, he loves to run around with me when we play back at home." he said with a grin.

The dragon nodded vigorously, and hopped back up, seeming to grin toothily. "Yes, yes. I run too."

Orpheus nodded, "Its nice to meet you Trace." He told the young dragon and then the man's dual colored eyes widened a bit in surprise when the dragon started to talk, "Ahh, you talk very well Trace." He complimented the brass.

The skills teacher had two sons and neither of their dragons talked all that much so when he ran across dragons that did talk he was facinated.

"Alright, first off we are going to get a drink." He said, walking over to where he had a cooler set up and got out three bottles of water. He kept one for himself and held out two to Oliver, "One for you and one for Trace, we will drink them now and then get to running. We want to see how many times we can circle the building before we get tired out."

He wondered who would drop out first of the three of them.

Trace chirped in a pleased way, grinning toothily and nodding his head as he thanked the teacher in draconic. He was so very eager to be able to communicate in a way the people around him could understand, and he was progressing quite well with Olly and Kami as his teachers.

"He loves to talk...he can't say too much in English yet but he's working at it." Oliver said, feeling proud of his companion. He followed the teacher over to the cooler and uncapped the bottle for his dragon first, who drank rather messily as he clutched the bottle in his clawed hands and balanced on his tail and hindlegs.

"I see. This is going to be fun." Oliver chuckled at the sight of his dragon companion, and began drinking down his own bottle, somewhat eager to get started.

Orpheus nodded, drinking deeply of his own water before replacing the cap and putting it back into the cooler. He turned to look over at the boy and his dragon, "Alright, lets go then." He said giving them both a smile. The sooner they got to running the sooner he would be able to see just well Oliver's stamina held out.

Oliver had downed most of his, but capped it when Orpheus finished, and took an empty bottle from Trace as well, who chirruped, and bounced a little in place, happy to be out and about and exercising on such a lovely summer day.

"Okay then. Come on Trace!" he said, patting his companion and starting off at a steady jog, unsure of the pace his teacher wanted to set. Since it was stamina that was being tested he wanted to pace himself and avoid sprinting as much as possible.

Orpheus matched his pace to that of the camel boy, jogging alongside of him and they were soon making their first circle around the base of the D-Corp building. He looked up at the sun every now and again, it was the best weather for the class but he could only hope he didn't give himself or his student heat stroke trying to run in such heat.

It was to bad he couldn't run and take notes he thought to himself, a few coming to mind that he would have to remember to write down after they were done with their running. He wondered how long it would take though, he didn't want to exhaust Oliver by no means just get a feel for what he could do.

Oliver hardly seemed phased by the heat, and kept at a steady pace, smiling a little as Trace galloped along at his side, sometimes bounding ahead or trailing back a little, though he never wandered away. He seemed quite comfortable as they fell into a good running pace. He too wondered how long he would last, and was glad he had worn light clothes, and a tank top shirt.

"Gonna be hot today." he observed as he breezed through the first lap around the building.

Orpheus gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, best way to test this is to make sure the whether was hot. It makes it so that you sweat and lose the water in your body faster. If your body works like a true camel though it shouldn't affect you in the least."

The first lap wasn't to bad he thought to himself and he was sure the second and third wouldn't be either, after that though he would see. He smiled at his student and Trace, "You two are doing very well."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 06, 2008 10:31 pm

"If I don't get hot enough I might not sweat at all..." he replied, keeping his breathing even as he jogged along. He had read a lot about camels, and wondered exactly how much he was like them. The animals themselves had a high temperature endurance and only began to sweat if it reached a very high temperature. He still felt quite comfortable, and was happy to be able to test his limits.

Trace seemed to be lasting fine too, being a natural desert dweller himself. He enjoyed the hot sun heating up his body, and spread out his unusual wings to accept the rays that were beating down, chattering softly to himself in draconic as he bounced alongside the teacher and student.

Orpheus gave a nod in agreement, continuing on in the round and round the building running. As he figured he was the one out of the three of them that seemed to be getting tired first. He mentally told himself that he was getting old and couldn't keep a bit of a smile off his lips as it was the truth.

"Not to bad, we are on lap... six now I think. How are you feeling now?" He asked of Oliver.

Oliver still kept up his pace, still seeming to enjoy himself. He enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his back, knowing that his fur was supposed to be able to reflect the sunlight. He called out when his dragon began to veer off a bit too far after something, sending the dragon darting back to his side with a mischievous little grin on his maw.

"Lap six? I'm still feeling good, and I think Trace is holding up fairly well too." he said, glancing down at the brass dragon, who nodded his answer.

"Thats great, both of you. We are going to do four more laps since I think ten sounds like a good stopping point and see how we are all doing then." He told the two he was running with. He was pretty certain he could make another four laps himself before he needed to sit which was why he picked ten.

"Once we are done with ten you two just tell me how your feeling, if you tired at all, sweaty at all, or if you think you could have run more and we will be all finished."
