Teagan wasn't too happy about driving his sister to a house he'd never been to. Or rather, he wasn't happy about leaving her there by herself. Their mother had organized a playdate for the child, thinking that since she now seemed a bit more confident she would be better suited for making friends. So, he had been left with the task of transporting her to the address that seemed to elude him at every turn. After driving all around the area for two hours, he finally located the secluded road and smiled as the van grumbled angrily up the dirt road, "Hey Liang?" When no response came, he looked back over his shoulder to find her asleep on the back seat with her wings tucked over her. While watching her, he completely forgot that he was driving and nearly slammed into the person's mailbox. "Aiee!" he screeched, spinning the wheel to avoid it. Wonderful first impression that would have been. Regaining his composure, he parked the car by the house and turned it off, not planning on going in with her.
Liang was slung off the seat when he swerved, and was still frazzled and stunned when he stopped. As quick as she possibly could, she grabbed up her bag and jumped out of the car, more excited to be on steady land than to meet this new person who was apparently arranged to be her friend. Her bag didn't contain much, just her notebook, a few pens, and her fan, but she rarely went anywhere without it anymore. As Teagan pulled away from the house she waved solemnly, wondering if she would be able to find her way back from here if need be. She still wasn't a very good flier, but she could certainly fly high enough to find the town over the trees. Taking a deep breath, she walked up to the front door and rang the bell, letting a little smile show on her face. Best not to insult them on the first meeting.

The door was answered quite quickly, and a soft, tannish face peered out, observing the colorful young girl through gentle brown eyes. He smiled, and opened up the door and screen. "Hello...You must be Liang, mom said you'd be coming. Come in." he said in a rather shy voice, holding the door for her politely. He could hardly keep from blurting a bit as he observed her. He had never seen such pretty plumage, so bright and colorful.
Kami peered in, and smiled a bit. "Oh, hello there!" she called out, having been getting ready to prepare lunch. "You found the way well enough, I hope?" she asked, smiling weakly. She knew it was a bit difficult to find the house, and was amazed no one ever complained about it.

Liang smiled as she entered the home, nodding to the boy who held the door for her, "Thank you." She felt a bit awkward standing there, until the woman asked her a question. Questions were good, they meant there was less of a chance she would embarass herself. "My brother drove me here, I don't think he had much trouble, I was asleep most of the way though." She blushed, feeling a bit bad about having left her brother to entertain himself on the drive. What should she do now... Stand there like an idiot? No. Introduce herself? Yes, that would be good. Bowing at the waist, she gave herself a proper introduction, "My name is Liang Nuying, it's nice to meet you."

Kami withdrew back into the kitchen. "I see. Well, are you hungry? I was just starting to make lunch." she offered, a small clank emitting from the room as she retrieved a pan.
Oliver smiled a little as he closed the door. It had been a while since his last playdate, though he had been attending classes a lot, so that made up for it. He knew that Liang probably wouldn't want to play tag or run around outside, but that was fine. It was good because he was versatile, and knew there were fun indoor things they could do.

"No, I ate before I left, thank you ma'am." She called back, setting her bag down beside the door. Her wings were a bit stiff from the long ride, but that was easily solved by rolling back her shoulders and giving them a little flick. She had to be careful with them though, she had hit someone with them before, and they kept getting bigger. Turning to Oliver, she blushed a bit, feeling a bit nervous about not having her fan hiding her face in front of a stranger for once. Conversation, that would make things better. Wringing her hands together, she thought up something quick, "So what do you like to do... Oliver?" Hopefully she got the name right.

"Alright. Just make yourself at home, and let me know if you need anything." she said, and was quiet, letting the children to themselves.
Oliver smiled a bit nervously, having been about to ask the same question. "Oh, lots of things." his polite demeanor urged him to let Liang decide their activities for the moment, but he continued just in case. He could tell she seemed a bit shy herself. "Coloring is fun. We could play a game, or play outside." he through the option out, just in case. It was such a nice day out, and they could always take a walk. But he didn't imagine such a pretty creature would want to get dirty. Some of his female siblings were just like that, so naturally he figured it applied to most girls.

Playing outside could be fun, if he meant like bird watching or something that didn't involve getting dirty like that. But then again, indoor activities could be just as fun if not more so. Thinking it over for a moment, she got and idea, and perked up considerably, "Do you have any board games?" Board games were always a good ice breaker, at least brother Tea said so, and he was right about a lot of things. Maybe this time they could play some board games and then next time they could go somewhere and do something. If she ended up getting along with him that was.

Oliver's smile widened a bit. He thought of when he'd played checkers with Sahra, and chuckled. "Oh, yes! Do you like board games, too?" he asked, smirking. He loved them, and it seemed few others in his family did, so he was happy when he got the chance to play any.

She nodded, relaxing a bit when he accepted her idea, "Yeah, they're really fun, and you don't get all dirty playing them." Looking around the room, she decided it would be best to find a place to sit with a nice open space to set out whatever game they decided to play. It was his house, so she figured he should choose. After a bit of seaching, she found a place where she sat down easily on the floor with her legs tucked under to avoid an embarassing incident with her dress. Seeming enthusiastic now, she spke up again, "What's your favorite game?"

Oliver chuckled, rubbing his neck. "Well, the outside doesn't have to be dirty. I wouldn't expect you to roll around or anything." He giggled a little. "But yeah, they are fun." he said, and followed her into the sitting room, which was vacant, except for a large orange cat who was asleep ontop of one of the couches. He remained standing, fixing to go get the game they would play. "I like checkers, and chinese checkers...Mmm...I sorta like chess, but I'm still learning. Connect four is fun...and Candyland." he laughed, blushing a bit. Sure it was a kid's game, but it was easy, and fun.

Liang laughed a little at the thought of rolling around in the dirt, covering her mouth with her hand. She took a moment to look around the room, startling a bit when she noticed the cat. It was asleep though, that was good, but it still made her feathers frizz. Trying to distract herself, she repeated the list, "Checkers, chinese checkers, chess, connect four, Candyland.." Tucking her wings in around herself to smooth them down, she nodded, "I like checkers, and chinese checkers. I've never played chess, or connect four. Candyland sounds fun though." She had played the game once before, with Mora, and though the kit had gotten awfully loud when she had won, it had still been fun.

Oliver giggled a bit too. Not even he liked doing that much anymore, because the dirt always got matted in his fur and it was a pain to get it out. He blinked as she noticed the orange feline, but thought little of it as she repeated the list, nodding. "I think we hav a few others, like matching games. And one called...M'nopoly, but those are either too easy or too hard." he said, and nodded as she commented. "Yeah, it is fun. I'll go get a couple." he said, figuring he'd retrieve a couple and see what they'd want to do. "Be right back." he turned and left the room, to go and get their games.
The orange cat yawned, and opened his eyes to look at sleepily at his surroundings. He didn't seem particularly interested in them, not even the new person who was standing nearby.

Liang nodded as the boy walked away, smoothing her skirt out patiently. She had always been good at waiting, patience was one of the virtues after all. Taking a deep breath, the decided to take the opportunity to stretch out her wings before he returned. After all, she was nervous enough about talking, drawing attention to her strange features was not something she wanted to do. Her wings reached about a seven and an half foot span when fully extended now, and her brother told her should be proud of them. They were too big for her liking though, they just made her feel awkward and out of place.

Oliver smiled as he got the games out of a cupboard in the hallway upstairs. He was quite impressed over Liang, and liked her wings. He'd already wondered if she could fly. He sighed rather wistfully, wishing somewhat that he could do such a thing, or at least have such pretty colors. Disregarding the thought, he grabbed Candyland and the chinese checkers set, and returned to the livingroom, taking a seat across from her and setting the two flat boxes down. "I'm back. Which shall we play first?"
The Candyland box was longer than the checkers box, and decorated with a colorful scene that depicted two children in a fantasy world filled with candy and other sweet things, thus it's name. The chinese checkers box was a bit more dull, but the game inside was intact, none of the colored marbles missing at all.

Liang smiled when he returned, glad she wouldn't be alone in the room with the cat thing any longer. "Um.. Candyland," she decided, nodding cheerfully. The feathers on her head crest bobbed lightly when she did, then flared back as she blushed, realizing that it did seem a little too childish, "Or chinese checkers, whichever you prefer."
